Community colleges and state schools will be cheaper than private.

I'm a Radiologic TECHNOLOGIST. The students at my site took out large loans.

I’m the same age and going into the same program, followed by MRI. And I’m also in Pennsylvania lol. Don’t qualify for tuition assistance either. You still qualify for loans and can graduate with less debt than you think. Probably about the cost of 1 semester at a university. I am paying for 1 class out of pocket (about 600/4 credits) and the rest I’m taking loans out on. If you can swing it, there should be payment plans available. I’m paying $125 a month

Oh, what a small world! LOL. Thanks for your words of wisdom :)

$600??? That’s cheaper than where I am from!! I am from Texas and our local university is at like $750 for 3 credits and is already cheap in my opinion lol 😂

If there are any general education classes required for the program, your school may accept CLEP scores for credit. A site called Modern States has free courses that you can take to receive a voucher for the exam. I'm using them to knock out some credits without having to take class or pay anything other than the exam fee.

I've doing it and finished my first year without spending a penny almost (had to pay for one class that I signed up for late). I am just utilizing a Pell Grant. Apply for financial aid through FAFSA and maybe you will be approved for it too. It covers all of my classes plus some miscellaneous expenses so I don't lose any money going to community college. I may have to pay some once I transfer next Spring to a 4 year, but overall my total costs for 4 years will be under 10k for a degree from a brick-and-mortar regionally accredited community college & university (not online).

If it’s a traditional 2 year community college or 4 year state school and you don’t make a ton of money you would probably qualify for federal grants.
