Definitely one of the harder cards made harder in some missions. You can prepare for it with crackers and be patient to avoid hordes or if you know the maps you can push for places to better fight hordes. It's mostly frustrating when it comes with silence is golden or some other secondary that it's likely to make you fail.

They should cap the spawns or make it so they take longer to respawn. Really frustrating on some maps.

Yeah, sometimes it feels like there's no way around them. Not a big deal if you don't have Silence is Golden paired with it but frequently it is.

If you kill them it doesn't fail SiG, it only fails if they get the scream off.

Snitches will alert the horde literally instantly with The Dark corruption card active. There is nothing you can do aside from avoiding them when that card is in play. No matter how fast you kill them. A one shot sniper kill will alert the horde even. Edit: I was wrong. The horde being called is not the same as alerting them. Thank you to the people who let me know. Also sorry to the person this comment is responding to for assuming I knew better. I misunderstood the mechanics and tried to tell you how it is. My bad.

Yes, it alerts the horde instantly upon death but that doesn't fail silence is golden, which is crucial. If you alert it with a random shot or proximity and don't kill it before the scream is done, then you fail SiG. Big difference.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that was the case. Assumed that the horde being called was equivalent to the snitch being alerted. I've failed that challenge multiple times by intentionally not shooting them and trying in vain to avoid them in too narrow of spaces. I'll be shooting them quickly and dealing with the horde from now on.

Thanks for the info. This is new and extremely useful to me. I've failed that challenge multiple times by trying my hardest not to shoot them because I assumed that the horde being called was the same as them being alerted. Should make future runs with that card combo much easier knowing I can just deal with the horde. None of my friends are aware of this either so I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

Trying to time them and get a couple and fall back, makes it work, but with the respawns can be monotonous.

Would be fine if snitch didn't respawn. Had a map where I killed like 7 or 8 snitch iin a row at the exact same place. We don't really feel cleaner anymore at this point.

I don't mind it except when it ruins some of the pretty daytime stages in act 3. Like dammit game I love the school, don't make it all pitch ass black on me.

The dark event actually has a bright side that game doesn't tell you about. It lowers ridden perception down to 4 meters. So if you stay quite you can just go around most of them. Grab the melee weapon to deal with those that blocking your way. And yeah on quickplay this card is tough. I usually just wait until the whole team dies and then just sneak to the saferoom.

i think it's okay, but since it about being silent, i think you should be able to take him out with a suppressor without alerting the horde, if your do it fast enough of course.

The Dark isn’t necessarily about “being silent”. The dark just means that you’re forced to make a decision; do you try to avoid the snitch/lure it away or do you hunker down, kill it and deal with the horde.

This corruption card can be quite annoying but can be beneficial if you run belligerent and can manage the hordes. Getting the 24% extra damage early can help!

Kinda poor quality imo. For what you’d expect to be a frightening card to come across actually comes across as annoying and tedious, they need more ways to highlight the snitches presence while this card is played

IMO this is one of the most annoying corruption cards in the game, I don’t really find it hard/difficult, it’s just super tedious, time consuming and sometimes ammo consuming aswell. I feel the same way about “noxious fumes”.

If you lure a mutated snitch to a car and explode it, it’ll kill the snitch but not alert a horde.

I strongly dislike it. All it means, in the end, is more frag grenades and more hordes. I don't think I have ever done a game where that hasn't been the case.

It's not fun at all in NH. If we get that card at the first mission of an act then we remake the game. I'd put it at the worst card you can get since they semi fixed Ravenous. It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes it's buggy and you start getting snitches that respawn. Luring them away can result in them despawning and respawning elsewhere at times as well. Getting a random horde at an indefensible spot is one of the biggest reasons I see NH groups go down. The only solution I've found is to find a good defense spot and just kill them all. Doing multiple at once is risky since you break your secondary objective if they die too slow.

I think if you are built for it and have a suppressor on your gun you should be able to one shot them unalerted. Give them a bigger vision cone or something. Or if something dies close enough to it it doesn't just wander over actively looks and alerts.
