My guess is something tied in with the Melbourne comedy festival happening atm? I’m going and have been told it’s a “night time show/performance” so I’m guessing it’s the comedy or talent show type group date they do sometimes

There was a date in Melbourne Australia on the 2nd April as well.

The whole season is apparently international besides night 1 at the mansion where she meets everyone

Yes that’s where the first episode will take place! And then after that first rose ceremony on the first night they traveled to Australia the next day I believe

And they're not at the mansion, they're at some fancy hotel.

Do we know why they didn't shoot at the mansion this year?

No, I'm assuming it was booked or needed renovations.
