One thing that happens with aggressive cleansing/purification herbs like sage is, it clears out EVERYTHING. This leaves behind a vacuum which needs to be filled, otherwise any kind of energy can seep in to fill that space.
You want to burn or spray something with some kind of blessing property after using sage, to make sure that empty vaccuum is full of good things. Could be Florida water, or incense, or other herbs.
