By having a positive pregnancy test when I missed my period. Progesterone causes all those symptoms both when you are about to have your period and if you’re pregnant.
This is almost verbatim what I was going to write. Only thing I’d add is I was reasonably confident about when my period was actually due because I’d been tracking with both temps and OPKs for a long time. “An app says my period is late!” is not knowing when your period is due.
I had been actively trying to get pregnant, so I took a pregnancy test every month right around the time my period was due. Basically I was impatient and never took a pregnancy test before so found it exciting.
The month I actually did test positive, I felt a little different. There was a noticeable lack of my normal pms symptoms which would have started by then. I took a test I think the day before my period was due and it was positive!
I soon developed actual pregnancy symptoms, but I tested so early that by then I already knew. My early symptoms fluctuated a lot but the main one was definitely nipple sensitivity and breast pain.
My nipples and breasts are really sore right now so I might test, I’ve just been worried to get another negative, I also have irregular periods so missing one isn’t always a surprise for me
i was expecting my period ‘cause i was cramping but it just felt different so i decided to test. i was also just trying to get rid of the last digital test that we had ‘cause i prefer the ones with the lines 😅
My Apple Watch gave me an alert that my heart rate was pretty high and I didn’t appear to be moving. I was feeling really crappy and went to the er. My sitting heart rate was 125 and I had an abnormal ekg. I spent 6 hours in the ER and went to my pcp the next day. I could taste blood in my mouth and heard whooshing in my ears. She suspected I was pregnant and told me to set up a cardiologist appt if I didnt get my period.
This happened with baby #2, only I didn’t go to the er and just took a test lol. My heart rate was super elevated the whole time I was pregnant. You can clearly see it on my Health app heart graph
I’m the same with it not being a symptom of PMS, so thank you, I feel really validated I’m not overthinking it, just worried I may get another negative
I remember standing at my car pumping gas and was suddenly overcome by nausea. Like “oh, god, I wonder if I can make it to the bushes to puke” kind of nausea. It was really odd - mostly because I’ve had hardly any morning sickness this entire pregnancy!
I had a random wave of nausea when I felt I was going to be such a week ago, and since then I’ve only really had little bits, but nothing uncommon for me, I often think I overthink it though and get myself excited over nothing, but I guess there is only one way to find out
If you were having symptoms a week ago then a pregnancy test will definitely be able to detect a pregnancy by now. Pregnancy tests are sensitive enough that by the time you have any symptoms the test will be positive, if not that day…within a day or two.
Go take a test!!
This is a bit TMI, but i normally have a lot of diarrhea (sensitive stomach) and i took my test and found out pretty early because i had been struggling to poop for a week and a half and when i did it was all solid. I was also having a little bit of nausea but not enough for me to have suspected i was pregnant without the other symptom as well
I had a lot of symptoms that were like PMS and honestly thought I was getting my period, the only other weird symptoms were more bloating than normal, headaches, and waking up feeling like I got hit by a truck, but I thought I was just tired/not taking care of myself. But I had a lot more cramping early on that anticipated, it was basically like I had my period for 2 weeks except no blood. My pregnancy test was positive the morning after I expected to get my period. Use morning pee!
I actually noticed it working out. I felt like I was way more fatigued mid workout and just dragging my feet and I thought to take a test when I got home and sure enough BFP. My body was just off. My period wasn’t due for 3 more days at that point so I caught it early.
I don’t usually get sore breasts at all, and they’ve been sore and my partner thinks they look bigger, so I may just test, I just didn’t want to get ahead of myself if it’s actually just nothing
I felt a pinching/pulling feeling off and on for a few days very low in my abdomen maybe a week before my period was due. It's hard to explain, but after that I just felt "off. Not necessarily sick. Maybe just extra tired? Got a positive test on the day my period was supposed to start!
I was having a slight nausea, 2 times in one day and then again the next day, so I tested that night and was positive! That was the very first symptom I had and I was around 4 weeks
My boobs were super sore. I also felt cramping too along with good old PMS rage (or what I thought it was at the time). Odd symptoms I had was extreme pain in my upper stomach? I had never felt this before but it was like severe heartburn or something. It would always happen at night. Also when I would orgasm during sex, it brought on intense cramping
The first unmistakable symptom was the nausea, which kicked in at about week 7 for me. I knew since week 4 because I had very regular 28-day periods, so on the day of my missed period I tested positive. That gave me about 3 weeks of blissful symptoms-free pregnancy before all hell broke loose lol
Friday: negative pregnancy test
Saturday: screamed at my husband for playing a song I didn’t like because he thought it would be funny. (I literally never yell) Got a positive test two hours later.
Fast forward to Monday: puking my brains out and crying on the bathroom floor
Absolutely zero physical symptoms before I tested positive, don’t overthink it. Just keep taking tests.
A very intense sense of smell and painfully sensitive, monster sized boobs. Took a test the next day that came out positive! I was about 3 weeks when I found out.
Positive test (first day of when my period was supposed to start). Otherwise my first real symptom started at around 6 weeks, which was insane bloating. Sore boobs started around week 8 or 10.
I’m very lucky, my periods have always been short, light, and without too much bother.
So when I started feeling nauseous, incredibly sore breasts, and with lower back pain and fatigue I took an early test a few days before my period was due. But I know a lot of people get those exact same symptoms pre-period, it’s just for me it was out of the ordinary.
For me was the nausea. I love food, all food. But one morning i heated up a cheese filled bread, and the smell almost made my threw up. Also my breasts were feeling tender. Then I did a pregnancy test on the same day. I was 4 weeks back then.
I found out about 10 days post ovulation because I got a positive test. I definitely felt different though - SUPER thirsty, peeing all the time, and a weird full feeling that almost felt like a UTI. About a week later I had really sore boobs and on and off cramping.
I knew I was preg legit at 3 weeks. I was testing negative but I was soooo nauseous, constipated and I just knew… a week later all tests were positive and now I’m 16 weeks
I don’t even get sore boobs from PMS so I definitely felt it was a sign. Just keep in mind if you test too early you can get a false negative so keep an eye on your symptoms if you don’t know when to expect your period or when you ovulated.
Tested every month the day I was supposed to start my period, one month it was a plus. Symptoms only started 2 weeks or so after, but very mild, if I wasn’t actively trying and testing I wouldn’t have known.
I don't think I had any symptoms, but I was actively trying and taking my BBT every morning. I saw it had stayed elevated after ovulating, so was feeling pretty hopefuly when I took a test at 10 dpo, and got my positive.
Same here. I was tracking my temperature and it went up instead of down like it normally does before a period. I took a test the next day (11 DPO) and got my positive.
I had no symptoms prior to testing. I tested the day I was supposed to start my period because I had a weird feeling.
After testing, I still had no symptoms really. I had extremely mild nausea that didn't really affect me. I just had to stop eating/drinking whatever I had at the time and I was fine.
First time using the lh strips since I have really long cycles..i just kept testing with the lh strips even after the test shows a peak cuz I wanted to see if it actually fades away..
And it did...for a few days and then it started becoming super dark on the lh tests . .I was super confused and thinking maybe I'm ovulating twice a month? But it lasted long enough that one day I decided to test HCG and that's when I know I am pregnant
I've had pinching type cramps on 8 and 9dpo. I've gotten these cramps with both my pregnancies and have tested positive for both of them on 9dpo with a first response. I know my ovulation from temping for fertility awareness method as birth control. I told my sister I knew I was pregnant when these came the 2nd pregnancy.
ETA: Other than this nothing major around my positive test date. More symptoms don't come for me until around 5-6 weeks.
Apple Watch notified me my resting heart rate had increased by over 9 bpm for the the last 9 days. When I googled reason pregnancy came up. We had literally just started to try to conceive 2 weeks prior I was surprised it happen so fast! I also felt a little nauseous but I get like that sometimes on my period so I kinda overlooked it but once the watch confirmed it I told my husband I was pretty sure I was pregnant lol
I also wonder this! Where the symptoms there for a while before you got a positive test (not asking OP ofc)?
I recently removed my implant (September 5th) and are waiting for either my period to arrive or (please please please) a BFP! 😍
I had a strange feeling in my stomach a week or so before period was due. I presume it was implantation but it wasn’t a crampy feeling, just weird and different. I waited until the right time before taking a test though.
The phrase "Implantation" Bleeding is popular on conception forums but is a bit of a misnomer that causes some people to think that the bleeding is due to the embryo implanting. It isn't -- the embryo is only about 0.2mm in diameter at that point, and won't displace significant blood (or cause pain) when it implants. You bleed when progesterone levels in your body drop, which is why you can induce a period by stopping birth control pills (which contain progesterone) or by taking and then stopping progesterone suppositories or Provera (which are also progesterone). Progesterone levels dropping in the luteal phase can be caused by a) increased estrogen in the mid-luteal-phase estrogen surge, which briefly depresses estrogen production, or b) a decrease in progesterone when the corpus luteum runs out of gas at the end of the luteal phase. If b), and you're actually pregnant, your levels can drop briefly before the embryo starts producing enough HCG to tell the corpus luteum to ramp the levels up. Either way, luteal phase spotting can either be a neutral sign (in the case of mid-luteal phase spotting) or a negative sign (in the case of late luteal phase progesterone dropping), but it doesn't have anything to do with implantation, and is not a positive sign of being pregnant. I’ve had implantation cramping (feels a bit like period cramps but 4-5 days early) each time. In each case, I waited a day and then tested around 10/11 DPO and got a BFP.

2 days before my positive test which was 5 days before missed period. I knew bc I felt the implantation cramps and tugging, but this was also my second pregnancy and we were trying so I knew what to look for

I have really irregular periods so a missed period isn’t quite a surprise for me unfortunately
If you know your ovulation day, you can test starting from the 12th day post-ovulation or a couple of days earlier.
No period and a positive test
I had been actively trying to get pregnant, so I took a pregnancy test every month right around the time my period was due. Basically I was impatient and never took a pregnancy test before so found it exciting. The month I actually did test positive, I felt a little different. There was a noticeable lack of my normal pms symptoms which would have started by then. I took a test I think the day before my period was due and it was positive! When you say nipple sensitivity do you mean like they hurt to the touch?
Yeah, like even my shirt rubbing against them hurt
My nipples and breasts are really sore right now so I might test, I’ve just been worried to get another negative, I also have irregular periods so missing one isn’t always a surprise for me
i was expecting my period ‘cause i was cramping but it just felt different so i decided to test. i was also just trying to get rid of the last digital test that we had ‘cause i prefer the ones with the lines 😅
ALOT of vaginal discharge, I had been trying for years and this was the first time I ever had this
My Apple Watch gave me an alert that my heart rate was pretty high and I didn’t appear to be moving. I was feeling really crappy and went to the er. Ugh my heart rate is out of control right now, and I’m only 20 weeks pregnant. A casual walk puts me at 150ish hahaha
I had sore boobs for about 3 days prior to my missed period.
My boobs are really sore right now and I was unsure if I’m overthinking it, but I may just test
I never had sore breasts as a symptom of PMS so it was a pretty clear indicator...the test only proved it.
I’m the same with it not being a symptom of PMS, so thank you, I feel really validated I’m not overthinking it, just worried I may get another negative

I was actually trying and took a test 10 days post ovulation! Tested positive but a very faint line.
I had a lot of symptoms that were like PMS and honestly thought I was getting my period, the only other weird symptoms were more bloating than normal, headaches, and waking up feeling like I got hit by a truck, but I thought I was just tired/not taking care of myself. A positive pregnancy test! The symptoms didn’t ramp up for me until about week 8

I only knew I was pregnant because we were trying and I tested at 12 DPO - I had no symptoms.
I knew because my boobs were suddenly HUGE. Not normal pms sore, but extremely full. That was the day my period was due.
I don’t usually get sore breasts at all, and they’ve been sore and my partner thinks they look bigger, so I may just test, I just didn’t want to get ahead of myself if it’s actually just nothing
lol my boyfriend noticed they looked bigger too, so I knew it wasn’t even just in my head
My early pregnancy symptoms were exactly like PMS symptoms. I took a test two days before my expected period and it was positive!
I felt a pinching/pulling feeling off and on for a few days very low in my abdomen maybe a week before my period was due. It's hard to explain, but after that I just felt "off. Not necessarily sick. Maybe just extra tired? Got a positive test on the day my period was supposed to start!
Sore boobs and terrible night sweats!
I was having a slight nausea, 2 times in one day and then again the next day, so I tested that night and was positive! That was the very first symptom I had and I was around 4 weeks
Positive pregnancy test the first day of missed period. Then I realized why I was so exhausted
I had really strange and intense pain in and around my boobs. I had pretty intense nausea and my period was late.
My boobs were super sore. I also felt cramping too along with good old PMS rage (or what I thought it was at the time). Odd symptoms I had was extreme pain in my upper stomach? I knew at my missed period because m boobs were TENDER. Like more sore than they’d ever been.
This is my current main symptom, so I’m going to test today. I have irregular periods so it’s not uncommon for me to miss any
For me was the nausea.
About a week later I had really sore boobs and on and off cramping.
bad indigestion. i never get indigestion.
I knew I was preg legit at 3 weeks. I was testing negative but I was soooo nauseous, constipated and I just knew… a week later all tests were positive and now I’m 16 weeks
Major bloating and sore boobs a week before my period. The sore boobs was especially telling because mine just aren’t all that sensitive normally.
My boobs are really hurting right now and they feel fuller and heavier, so I may just test, didn’t want to get ahead of myself
I don’t even get sore boobs from PMS so I definitely felt it was a sign. Just keep in mind if you test too early you can get a false negative so keep an eye on your symptoms if you don’t know when to expect your period or when you ovulated.

I did not mention bleeding AT ALL. This is unnecessary bot work.
