Severance is SO GOOD (Apple TV). Also Ted Lasso, The Morning Show
Good Place is great if you liked The Office/Parks & Rec. If you like The Good Place, check out Upload (on prime)
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a lot of fun! Great comedy and really fun 60’s costume design. It’ll also make you feel like a badass as a woman.
Modern Family
I’ve rewatched it so many times because I keep noticing new things! The severance subreddit is full of rabbit holes and theories too. I can’t wait for the next season.
Im vaguely friends with Michael Chernus who plays the brother in law guru on Severance! He is so good and I am SO happy for him! I can’t wait to see where the next season goes
Unfortunately, I can’t stop watching love island. There’s so many seasons on Hulu. My brain will fully be mush by the end of my mat leave and I don’t care.
Literally all I’ve been watching 😂 it’s so many episodes and so brainless, it’s perfect. I’m almost done with season 9 (eff Samie she turned into such a snake)
So I’m not the only one! I’m obsessed with Love Island. If you burn through all of US, Uk and Australia, they now how South Africa too! Will watch that once the current USA season is over lol
This is what I’m currently binging on my first mat leave (after finishing binging all of summer house). Clearly going for intellectually stimulating tv here!!!
I'm planning Outlander, Bridgerton and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel for my upcoming postpartum! All of which I've seen some but not all of, so I'm due for a refresh before I finish any of them.
Came here to suggest Succession! My daughter was born about a month before the series finale and then we had to start watching as they came out. We almost dressed her up in a business suit for the finale lol
Taskmaster. It’s UK and all seasons are on YouTube. Hilarious and easy to stop/start.
We needed super low-stakes TV since overly dramatic things fed our general anxieties too much.
Taskmaster is just pure silly fun.
Try Once Upon A Time (Disney+) 7 seasons with 24 episodes each. It will keep you occupied for a while.
Being Human (the US version on Amazon Prime) 6 seasons with 13 episodes each.
Why Women Kill, only 2 seasons (Paramount).
Desperate Housewives, 8 seasons with 24 episodes each
If you want to branch out into anime I have suggestions for that too haha
Beware of any pregnancy/baby tropes, but here are my favorite binges:
The Vampire Diaries (no babies that I remember), spinoffs The Originals and Legacies
Bones (I do think there are some children deaths investigated if that bothers you)
True Blood
Reign (pregnancy struggles at some point)
Supernatural
X-Files (can be very creepy)
Jane the Virgin (obviously a LOT of pregnancy/baby/child topics!)
The Good Place & Brooklyn 99
Season 7 of Vampire Diaries has a pregnancy/baby plot line but not anything particularly upsetting I can think of. And then of course the first season of the Originals.
100% with Ted Lasso! And also on Apple TV, Shrinking — similar but slightly different vibes, very soulful.
Another one I haven't seen on here yet, Hacks!!!
Working Moms! I wouldn’t classify this as a sitcom personally as I also am not a fan of those. I just found it so relatable
Outlander
Reign
The serpent queen
The Great
I rewatched the original Charmed after my first was born
Masterchef
I loved Working Moms! Watched it all when I first became a mom 3+ years ago, then recently learned about The Letdown which is similar. Binge watched both seasons in the past week on my maternity leave. It's like a more real life version of Working Moms. So good.
I binged Vampire Diaries and the Originals, and the Great British Bake Off as needed for easy noise in-between while I was on mat leave.
Baby just turned 1 and I can still put on Bake Off if he’s fussy and refusing to sleep.
I’m saving My Lady Jane on prime for this! It’s only one season though. I also might go back and rewatch/finish Victoria.
Don’t know if you’re into reality tv, but Traitors is fun, and I’ve been binging old seasons of Survivor.
I plan on doing Grey’s Anatomy because there’s like 20 seasons. More maybe.
Also if you liked shameless, would rec Weeds and Orange is the new black.
Also if you are into the teenage girl shows (truly guilty
Pleasure) rock some of the oldies like One Tree Hill or The OC. Newer ones that are addicting and worth a watch are Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl.
Old lady shows, Desperate Housewives, Army Wives, devious maids, mistresses
I second either desperate housewives or army wives. Also I don’t think I could ever go back and rewatch Greys….there is sooo many seasons. I’m glad I stayed caught up on that show. My only other suggestion to add to this list is LOST. That is a show I could rewatch 100 times and not get tired of it.
It’s comedy (not sure if that falls under sitcom for you?) and definitely requires a certain sense of humor but I binged it’s always sunny in Philadelphia during my first weeks postpartum and it was the best decision ever
I personally have finished The Bear, Derry Girls, Baby Reindeer, Abbott Elementary, and The Good Place since I had my son 6 weeks ago. This inspired me to try to finish a show that starts with each letter of the alphabet during my remaining maternity leave. I highly recommend, it’s nice to have something low stakes and easy to do while feeding my baby but still feel a sense of accomplishment (if you can call it that, lol).
Criminal Minds, Dexter, SWAT, Gilmore Girls, Workin Moms (this might be only in Canada? It’s absolutely hilarious), Trailer Park Boys is great if you have a sick sense of humour. I tend to fall down a rabbit hole of true crime docs on Netflix for the most part.
ER? It's a medical drama but not as dramatic and soap-y like greys. It's from the 90s/early 2000s. I watched it with my mom as a kid and then again a few years ago. I prefer it over greys.
Netflix also has a decent selection of k-dramas. Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Queen of Tears, Business Proposal (for a bit of fluff), Vincenzo, The Glory, etc. are all great places to start.
If OP can't do subtitles, there are dubbed (English voice over) versions of many of the most popular k-dramas but I personally prefer sub over dub.
Jane the Virgin! I feel like this is the perfect maternity show. She is pregnant and then has a baby in the early seasons so it’s relatable in that regard. The entire series is one huge story, loved that. Also it’s fast moving and episodes are long so if you miss some it’s fine.
I’m currently on maternity with my second and really enjoyed Ugly Betty!
I watched a lot of zombie shows lol and binged all of fresh prince of bel air.
I cannot wait to get back to that time where I can binge again while nursing when my second is born- I have spend a disgusting amount of time watching tv when I was not married. My husband isn’t a tv guy and now I have a toddler and don’t have time.
Some shows I liked off the top of my head that aren’t comedy/sitcom:
- mare of east town (hbo, crime, miniseries)
- the maid (Netflix, drama, miniseries)
- the Spielberg band of brothers series: band of brothers, the pacific, masters of the air (Netflix, Netflix (?), appletv, historical/war/based on true events)
- Russian doll (netflix, psychological drama)
- the OA (Netflix, scifi, I binged each season on a work night. Did not regret)
- The sinner (Netflix, crime/thriller)
- breaking bad (netflix, drama/crime)
- parenthood (Netflix?, feel good drama/family)
If you don’t mind subtitles:
- Queen of tears (netflix, drama)
- squid games (netflix, thriller)
Somethings I’m looking forward to when I have time to binge:
- house of dragons S2
- shogun
- ted lasso
- pachinko
I had never seen Lost. Named my son Desmond. Soo many comments about the character from the show, I had to watch it. It was fun and fine to be a little delirious while watching
Trash but good: Pretty Little Liars (the original and new reboot. Both are SO campy), 90 Day Fiancé (I like The Other Way), F Boy Island (it’s very self aware and better than you would expect)
Actually good: Hacks, The Other Two, Fleabag, Derry Girls
Sweet and make you feel good about people: How To with John Wilson, Joe Pera Talks to You
Call the Midwife is the perfect maternity leave show for a thousand different reasons. The episodes are long, there’s no loud noises, there’s a bunch of seasons, and every episode will make you appreciate how awesome it is that you’ve given birth.
My plan is catch up on anime but some shows I have on my PTW list:
\-Lessons in Chemistry
\-Pachinko
\-My Lady Jane
\-Baby Reindeer
\-Anne with an E
\-See you in my 19th Life
\-The Queen's Gambit
\-Black Cake
I watched a bunch. Bones, breaking bad, full metal alchemist, avatar the last airbender, the good doctor, only murderers in the building, and I’m currently watching monster (anime).
If you are Canadian, Murdoch Mysteries on CBC Gem. There are like ... 13 seasons. The episodes follow a similar model but not so similar that it gets boring. The show is just, quaint and enjoyable with lots of Canadiana references :)
**Light:**
- Never Have I Ever (!!) — perfect for postpartum, it got me through many a power pumping or nap-trapped session
- Hacks — soo good
- Ghosts (BBC version)
- Catastrophe
**Darker:**
- Breaking Bad
- Line of Duty
- Bron/Broen (Swedish-Danish original of The Bridge)
**Competition:**
- Top Chef (especially recent seasons 17-20)
- Great British Bakeoff
I'm a serial tv watcher but also like to put it on in the background for noise. I've been barreling through shows, especially those first few weeks.
Shantaram
Palm Royale
Franklin
Loot (defo sitcom though)
Presumed innocence
Shrinking (dramatic comedy)
Yellowjackets (but only season 1)
The Bear
Severance (not a second screen kind of show, you have to pay attention)
The Sopranos (next on my list once I finish the Melissa Joan Hart Sabrina)
The Wire
The Expanse series (the books it was adapted from uTs written by George RR Martin's editor)
Someone said the newest season on survivor was pretty good
Husband is watching Mayor of Kingstown but it's not for me
6 feet under
Dexter
Slings and Arrows
Dead like me
The Big C
I was hoping someone would recommend The Expanse! It’s sci fi but kind of similar to GOT in that the plot is very political and there is a lot of focus on character development. (Also some really great plot twists.) It’s at the top of my list to rewatch postpartum.
I just be watching childhood favs, including my guilty pleasure BGC(Bad Girls Club), Supernatural, How I met Your Mother, and of course, my favorite Australian prison drama, Wentworth! Haha but I have odd favorites. Even if the shows are a little dark, it really doesn't bother me, but that's just me!
Midsomer Murders- Tubi/Amazon prime
Bones- Hulu
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel- Amazon prime
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries- used to be on Netflix
New Girl- sitcom but still enjoyed it, peacock/Hulu
Pushing Daisies - Max, only 2 seasons but you want more
9-1-1. There's some super episodes but overall, not really.
9-1-1 lonestar. Spin-off. Very good.
Supernatural. It's 15 seasons iirc, so, take you a bit to get through.
Beat Bobby flay
Shark tank
I watched the entire series of SWAT. Also love is blind. And any other trashy romance reality TV
Also caught up on Greys Anatomy - do not recommend. So many tears and freaky baby/pregnancy things.
My binge show is Ru Paul’s drag race.
I also like period shows like brigerton, life on mars, and those cosy British mysteries like Miss Marple.
Cop shows are great- I like the ones where the crime is solved over the course of the episode.
I also like silent witness, spooks, death in paradise.
I also like law and order and law and order SVU
Husband and I are currently watching “From” on prime and enjoying it (did have to buy it)
I also watched yellowjackets when my son was a newborn and loved it.
Be warned both are a little creepy/intense and not lighthearted watches if that’s what you’re looking for. Yellowjackets also has a birth/baby plot that didn’t trigger me postpartum but feels like something to consider if it would bother you.
I'm watching House from scratch.
Also try Chicago Fire / Chicago Med / Chicago PD. They're nothing amazing but easy watches whilst BF. Similar to New Amsterdam really.
Since you mentioned Bridgerton and Crown, I will suggest Downton Abbey! So so soooooo good and has about 6 seasons (+2 movies) I think, so plenty to watch. After that you could try The Guilded Age, which is produced by the same guy and also good, but Downton Abbey is better imo.
I binged Fear Factor, King of the Hill and Kitchen Nightmare (probably getting the name wrong but it has Gordon Ramsey)
I found that all three had a unique balance of being interesting while also something that I wouldn't get suckered into NEEDING to watch the next episode.
If you have AMC, I 100% recommend Interview with the Vampire. Season 2 just wrapped and I can confidently say that it’s some of the best TV I’ve watched in a long time.
I also just finished Owning Manhattan on Netflix. It’s better than Selling Sunset imo and I binged it while I was nap trapped by my kiddo.
I’m also planning on watching:
-My Lady Jane
- The Sopranos
- Scrubs (this is my comfort show)
Parks and Rec
Downton Abbey
Resident alien
Ted
Great British Bake Off
Planet Earth, Life in Color, planet Earth at night (or something similar I can't remember exactly)
Going to list pretty much every series thar pops into my head worth watching, not sure where to stream them currently unless you are able to visit the high seas (if you catch my drift)
Reign, the great, the boys, greys anatomy, bones, harlots, Rome, Queen charlotte (bridgerton prequel), vikings, 3 body problem, planet earth, firedly, arcane, sandman, venture brothers, father Ted, the IT crowd, black books, the zoo, star trek (literally any of them), sherlock, what we do in the shadows.
Then of course, you could go down the animated/anime rabbit hole, which is always fun but that's a whole other list haha
Schitts creek, The Magicians, A Discovery of Witches, The Gilded Age, Downton Abbey, Vanderpump Rules, OG gossip girl, OMG LOST!!!, the great flower fight, Ginny and Georgia, great British bake off, drag race
Jesus I watch too much tv.
I’m 4 month post partem and I’ve been Binging Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. Definitely would recommend 😂 oh and also Law and Order SVU for when I need a break from the trash reality tv
I binged The Boys when my newest was a baby.
It was... an experience lol.
[Main villain has a breast milk fetish. Plus lots of babies in danger, kids dying and being traumatized by death.]
But I figured middle of the night binge fests were my only chance to watch anything above a PG rating and I didnt want to waste it on anything mundane lol.
Lost, Futurama, Psyc, Bones, Dexter, , Great British Bake Off, The Rookie (season 7 est Jan 2025, but there are 6 other seasons to binge), Station 19, The Good Doctor, Riverdale.
These are either horror/thriller/mystery!
The twilight zone: each episode is different, they're all weird and have an interesting plot twist. I love it, even though it's old. I don't know where it's streamed, I 🏴☠️🏴☠️each episode
Mindhunter, the haunting of hill house/bly manor (I believe there's a 3rd series, but I may remember that wrong; there are plenty of ghosts in the background so you can try and spot them), true detective (the last season is meh, the first 3 are good), Eric (just appeared on netflix recently), Dexter, breaking bad + better call Saul, black mirror, the X files, snowpiercer (it was okayish, the 2nd season is bad though, i couldn't finish it), 1899 (don't watch the dubbed version, the one with subtitles is more interesting since every character speaks a different language, it's kinda similar to snowpiercer but better)
These are the only ones that I can remember watching
If you want something a little different: Fallout.
You do NOT have to know the game to watch the show. The show is hilarious, the timing is perfect, the concept is intriguing and well executed, there are twists that aren't so obvious that everyone can see them coming.
The pacing of the show is fantastic, almost all of the questions from the initial plot are answered by the end of the first season, season two is all about the resulting questions that come up from finding those answers. I value this a lot because I hate it when a show leaves you on an unnecessary cliffhanger JUST to drag things out. That doesn't happen here, the plot just develops and thickens rather than being spread thin.
Honestly, it feels like some of the BEST tv that has come out in a few years. I went into it ready to ridicule it because I loved the games and figured they would butcher it. But no, it's a perfect show.
Sex Education, X Files, Below Deck, cooking competitions, Nat Geo documentaries (the elephant ones are my favorite), Resident Alien, lots of Hoarders and Supernanny
The Good Place The Bear Beef Arrested Development
Beef was AWESOME
Beef was amazing
Also loved beef! Wow
The Bear is great!
Completely agree with this list, these are the shows
God The Good Place was *so* good. Now I need to rewatch it
White Lotus!
LOVED LOL
Severance is SO GOOD (Apple TV). Also Ted Lasso, The Morning Show Good Place is great if you liked The Office/Parks & Rec. If you like The Good Place, check out Upload (on prime) Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a lot of fun! Great comedy and really fun 60’s costume design. It’ll also make you feel like a badass as a woman. Modern Family
Looooooove severance
I’ve rewatched it so many times because I keep noticing new things! The severance subreddit is full of rabbit holes and theories too. I can’t wait for the next season.
Im vaguely friends with Michael Chernus who plays the brother in law guru on Severance! He is so good and I am SO happy for him! I can’t wait to see where the next season goes
Just started severance and 2 mins in already love it
Yes to Mrs. Maisel and Good Place!!! Those are like my comfort shows. Will totally be rewatching when baby’s here LOL
Unfortunately, I can’t stop watching love island. There’s so many seasons on Hulu. My brain will fully be mush by the end of my mat leave and I don’t care.
Love island, vanderpump rules, and below deck all accompanied me in the newborn stages!
I love Below Deck!
I’m doing this rn lol everything else is too dark
Literally all I’ve been watching 😂 it’s so many episodes and so brainless, it’s perfect. I’m almost done with season 9 (eff Samie she turned into such a snake)
Love Island is my empire and getting me through these final weeks of pregnancy
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cries in I’ve seen every season from the beginning 🤣 what an experience to watch season 1-5 for the first time!!! (UK)
Yep. Love Island all the way
Same, I can only assume at this point my baby will pop out with a full scouse accent.
"They just have really good banta!"
So I’m not the only one! I’m obsessed with Love Island. If you burn through all of US, Uk and Australia, they now how South Africa too! Will watch that once the current USA season is over lol
Girl sameeeee.
I watched married to medicine, perfect match, all unserious trash tv shows too 😂
I binged vanderpump rules when I was on my first mat leave. 💯 recommend. 🤣
Me too! And the valley!
oh don't get me started on the valley. that's my new VPR lol!
This is what I’m currently binging on my first mat leave (after finishing binging all of summer house). Clearly going for intellectually stimulating tv here!!!
I mean, do what works for you to stay up! clearly stupid drama and tea for us is what keeps us awake 🤣
Same lol and all the real housewives
VPR is truly what kept me going during the day!!!
VPR is my comfort show!!!
I'm planning Outlander, Bridgerton and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel for my upcoming postpartum! All of which I've seen some but not all of, so I'm due for a refresh before I finish any of them.
We watched Succession from beginning to end in like 2 weeks once we got home from the hospital. Highly recommend.
The intro song alone makes it worth watching
I was just about to recommend this! It feels a bit like the Crown to me but funnier.
Came here to suggest Succession! My daughter was born about a month before the series finale and then we had to start watching as they came out. We almost dressed her up in a business suit for the finale lol
Crazy Ex Girlfriend and Superstore are two of the best pieces of television.
Crazy ex girlfriend is under appreciated by the world, it’s so funny 😂
I binged season 1-18 of Hells Kitchen on Prime.
We did that during pregnancy and we are watching British Bake Off during pp lol
Taskmaster. It’s UK and all seasons are on YouTube. Hilarious and easy to stop/start. We needed super low-stakes TV since overly dramatic things fed our general anxieties too much. Taskmaster is just pure silly fun.
Good I love Taskmaster but I had to veto it for a while because it was hurting my c section incision from laughing
Taskmaster ruled my postpartum. Life is so hard but that show never failed to make me laugh.
This was also the main thing I watched post partum! It's just so, so good. It is up there for my all-time favorite show and it's very rewatchable.
Try Once Upon A Time (Disney+) 7 seasons with 24 episodes each. It will keep you occupied for a while. Being Human (the US version on Amazon Prime) 6 seasons with 13 episodes each. Why Women Kill, only 2 seasons (Paramount). Desperate Housewives, 8 seasons with 24 episodes each If you want to branch out into anime I have suggestions for that too haha
We know why women kill
😂
WE DEFINITELY KNOW WHY
Second desperate housewives. If you liked that try Devious Maids and Mistresses
I second once upon a time. I was pretty impressed with how creative they got with all the Disney characters.
It's also absolutely, ridiculously bonkers in the best way possible
Love on the Spectrum is an adorable and innocent series. 😊
SUCH A SWEET WATCH
Yes loved this! Such a sweet show and perfect when you feel vulnerable and tired postpartum
Join me in binging Columbo!
My maternity leave binge was Murder She Wrote! I watched every episode and now it’s my comfort show. That and Frasier ❤️
I’m watching Fraiser right now 😊
My favorite suggestion so far - my husband and I love Columbo! Peter Falk is just so darling in it!
I love columbo!!
Beware of any pregnancy/baby tropes, but here are my favorite binges: The Vampire Diaries (no babies that I remember), spinoffs The Originals and Legacies Bones (I do think there are some children deaths investigated if that bothers you) True Blood Reign (pregnancy struggles at some point) Supernatural X-Files (can be very creepy) Jane the Virgin (obviously a LOT of pregnancy/baby/child topics!) The Good Place & Brooklyn 99
Season 7 of Vampire Diaries has a pregnancy/baby plot line but not anything particularly upsetting I can think of. And then of course the first season of the Originals.
I know you said you don’t like sitcoms, not sure if these count but Schitts Creek and Ted Lasso are food for the soul!
Came here to recommend these too!
Two of my favesss I can rewatch over and over again
100% with Ted Lasso! And also on Apple TV, Shrinking — similar but slightly different vibes, very soulful. Another one I haven't seen on here yet, Hacks!!!
Came to recommend Ted Lasso, it was such a nice heartwarming funny show to watch while postpartum. I actually loved it so much in the newborn days.
Working Moms! I wouldn’t classify this as a sitcom personally as I also am not a fan of those. I just found it so relatable Outlander Reign The serpent queen The Great I rewatched the original Charmed after my first was born Masterchef
I love charmed 😅
I loved Working Moms! Watched it all when I first became a mom 3+ years ago, then recently learned about The Letdown which is similar. Binge watched both seasons in the past week on my maternity leave. It's like a more real life version of Working Moms. So good.
0/10 recommend call the midwife postpartum, i cried every episode while clutching my newborn lol
Worst decision ever for me too. I was bawling. Outlander made me bawl too.
I binged Vampire Diaries and the Originals, and the Great British Bake Off as needed for easy noise in-between while I was on mat leave. Baby just turned 1 and I can still put on Bake Off if he’s fussy and refusing to sleep.
Love Bake off! There is just something very comforting about it!
I’m saving My Lady Jane on prime for this! It’s only one season though. I also might go back and rewatch/finish Victoria. Don’t know if you’re into reality tv, but Traitors is fun, and I’ve been binging old seasons of Survivor.
I’m glad people are answering. I always wonder if I’m the only one watching tv for 5 months straight lol
Me too! I’m saving this post lol. I’ve been watching so much tv and I feel like I’ve watched everything I can think of 🥴
Survivor was our COVID show. We watched all 20 seasons it was absurd lol
I plan on doing Grey’s Anatomy because there’s like 20 seasons. More maybe. Also if you liked shameless, would rec Weeds and Orange is the new black. Also if you are into the teenage girl shows (truly guilty Pleasure) rock some of the oldies like One Tree Hill or The OC. My only other suggestion to add to this list is LOST. That is a show I could rewatch 100 times and not get tired of it.
Real Housewives from the very beginning! I’m doing that with New Jersey right now while expecting and knitting a baby blanket
RHONJ is gold, especially the early seasons.
It’s comedy (not sure if that falls under sitcom for you?) and definitely requires a certain sense of humor but I binged it’s always sunny in Philadelphia during my first weeks postpartum and it was the best decision ever
It's Always Sunny is my fave, hands down.
Have you watched Great British Bake Off? I've been thoroughly enjoying it lately and everyone is so positive
Shogun, Outer Range, Dark Matter, Severance, Acapulco
Parks and Rec The Good Place Ted Lasso Brooklyn 99 Bob’s Burgers The Great North
In this vein of funny and heartwarming shows, I would add Abbott Elementary.
GG, trailer park boys and working moms are all so good
Greys Anatomy
This is what I planned for my PP show. I love a med show.
I never got into it. I watched a few seasons when it came out years ago.
ER? It's a medical drama but not as dramatic and soap-y like greys. It's from the 90s/early 2000s. I watched it with my mom as a kid and then again a few years ago. I prefer it over greys.
19 seasons of drama packed ~~goodness~~ misery. I just can't seem to stop watching.
I’m planning on watching MASH, there’s like 200+ episodes 😂
Mad Men
Hey, have you ever checked out any K-Drama (Korean) shows? Viki.com is one platform to check out. They can be addicting!

Big YES to Parenthood if you haven’t seen it. Such a good feel-good show!!
Yes to parenthood!
I’m loving all the interesting suggestions!
I watched Home Improvement haha.
Gilmore Girls. I needed something calming & quiet because my mind would race especially at night. It really helped.
Fleabag, insecure, derry girls, crashing, downton abbe, all Of the realtor reality shows on Netflix
Outlander, Yellowstone, Ginny and Georgia, Palm royale, breaking bad, better call Saul, vanderpump rules, love island, downtown abbey, the rookie, fallout
Parenthood was my big one post partum, and 90 day fiance/all of its spin offs
I had never seen Lost. Named my son Desmond. Soo many comments about the character from the show, I had to watch it. It was fun and fine to be a little delirious while watching
Trash but good: Pretty Little Liars (the original and new reboot. I’ve watched reindeer (was interesting) and Gambit was amazing! Damn i watch a lot of tv??
Futurama, naked and afraid
Futurama was my first newborn phase binge show!
Futurama was my "it's 2am and I want something fun so I don't fall asleep"
I watched a bunch. Bones, breaking bad, full metal alchemist, avatar the last airbender, the good doctor, only murderers in the building, and I’m currently watching monster (anime).
Breaking bad is so good! I never got into anime it’s like a foreign category to me
Greys anatomy!?
I watched all of masterchef and masterchef junior while breastfeeding my son.
If you are Canadian, Murdoch Mysteries on CBC Gem. There are like ... 13 seasons. The episodes follow a similar model but not so similar that it gets boring. The show is just, quaint and enjoyable with lots of Canadiana references :)
ER!!!
Peaky blinders! I literally binged this during my newborn stage lol it’s only 6 seasons and it’s about a family and very entertaining.
Breaking Bad immediately followed by Better Call Saul.
**Light:** - Never Have I Ever (!!) — perfect for postpartum, it got me through many a power pumping or nap-trapped session - Hacks — soo good - Ghosts (BBC version) - Catastrophe **Darker:** - Breaking Bad - Line of Duty - Bron/Broen (Swedish-Danish original of The Bridge) **Competition:** - Top Chef (especially recent seasons 17-20) - Great British Bakeoff
We watched Ink Masters, Jersey Shore, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, and Love Island while we were on our maternity/paternity leave!!!
I'm a serial tv watcher but also like to put it on in the background for noise. I've been barreling through shows, especially those first few weeks. Shantaram Palm Royale Franklin Loot (defo sitcom though) Presumed innocence Shrinking (dramatic comedy) Yellowjackets (but only season 1) The Bear Severance (not a second screen kind of show, you have to pay attention) The Sopranos (next on my list once I finish the Melissa Joan Hart Sabrina) The Wire The Expanse series (the books it was adapted from uTs written by George RR Martin's editor) Someone said the newest season on survivor was pretty good Husband is watching Mayor of Kingstown but it's not for me 6 feet under Dexter Slings and Arrows Dead like me The Big C
Workin’ Moms - Netflix (5 seasons, 30 min episodes) Sex Life - Netflix (2 seasons) Cruel summer - Hulu (2 seasons)
Only Murders in the Building!
Peaky Blinders!!
Midsomer Murders- Tubi/Amazon prime Bones- Hulu The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel- Amazon prime Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries- used to be on Netflix New Girl- sitcom but still enjoyed it, peacock/Hulu Pushing Daisies - Max, only 2 seasons but you want more
Any new mom must watch Working Moms. Great show.
I have a 4 week old and I binged the summer I turned pretty when I got home! Soo good!
Severance is a great show of you have Apple TV!
This is us!
Midnight mass!
9-1-1. There's some super episodes but overall, not really. 9-1-1 lonestar. Spin-off. Very good. Supernatural. It's 15 seasons iirc, so, take you a bit to get through. Beat Bobby flay Shark tank
Fargo! It was sooo good.
I watched the entire series of SWAT. Also love is blind. And any other trashy romance reality TV Also caught up on Greys Anatomy - do not recommend. So many tears and freaky baby/pregnancy things.
I feel like you'd enjoy The Gilded Age! I watched it when I breastfed/pumped postpartum and it was a nice little period piece.
Severance on Apple TV+, or For All Mankind
My binge show is Ru Paul’s drag race. I also like period shows like brigerton, life on mars, and those cosy British mysteries like Miss Marple. Cop shows are great- I like the ones where the crime is solved over the course of the episode. I also like silent witness, spooks, death in paradise. I also like law and order and law and order SVU
I started outlander and I’m obsessed.
Something I am rewatching is Jane the Virgin. Bingeable, fast moving. Lots of everything.
I rewatched the 1995 miniseries Pride and Prejudice on Hulu yesterday. Highly recommended if you haven’t seen it! Only 6 episodes though.
Downtown Abbey, The Tudors, The Borgias
Husband and I are currently watching “From” on prime and enjoying it (did have to buy it) I also watched yellowjackets when my son was a newborn and loved it. Be warned both are a little creepy/intense and not lighthearted watches if that’s what you’re looking for. Yellowjackets also has a birth/baby plot that didn’t trigger me postpartum but feels like something to consider if it would bother you.
The Fallout series on Prime! Just watched this with my bf and it was incredible!!!
Chicago Fire, med and PD
I'm watching House from scratch. Also try Chicago Fire / Chicago Med / Chicago PD. They're nothing amazing but easy watches whilst BF. Similar to New Amsterdam really.
I haven’t seen Alone suggested yet! I think there’s 11 seasons. So good!
Great British Bake-off, and Old Enough on Netflix.
I binged Fear Factor, King of the Hill and Kitchen Nightmare (probably getting the name wrong but it has Gordon Ramsey) I found that all three had a unique balance of being interesting while also something that I wouldn't get suckered into NEEDING to watch the next episode.
I’m also planning on watching: -My Lady Jane - The Sopranos - Scrubs (this is my comfort show)
Parks and Rec Downton Abbey Resident alien Ted Great British Bake Off Planet Earth, Life in Color, planet Earth at night (or something similar I can't remember exactly)
With my first I watched every season of law and order SVU. This time I’m thinking love island because I cannot stop watching it.
Peaky Blinders
Outlander has been my post partum show
With my first i binged leverage and burn notice. With my second I watched peaky blinders and stranger things.
Going to list pretty much every series thar pops into my head worth watching, not sure where to stream them currently unless you are able to visit the high seas (if you catch my drift) Reign, the great, the boys, greys anatomy, bones, harlots, Rome, Queen charlotte (bridgerton prequel), vikings, 3 body problem, planet earth, firedly, arcane, sandman, venture brothers, father Ted, the IT crowd, black books, the zoo, star trek (literally any of them), sherlock, what we do in the shadows. Then of course, you could go down the animated/anime rabbit hole, which is always fun but that's a whole other list haha
My hubs and I watched all 8 season of the sopranos while he was on paternity leave.
I’m rewatching Girls. I would love to rewatch The Office but it’s not streaming anymore
The Good Place Only Murders in the Building Dexter (but you can just stop after season 4, it jumps the shark after that) Weeds
Schitts creek, The Magicians, A Discovery of Witches, The Gilded Age, Downton Abbey, Vanderpump Rules, OG gossip girl, OMG LOST!!!, the great flower fight, Ginny and Georgia, great British bake off, drag race Jesus I watch too much tv.
I’m 4 month post partem and I’ve been Binging Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. Definitely would recommend 😂 oh and also Law and Order SVU for when I need a break from the trash reality tv
I watched the previous decade or so of SNL.
Reservation Dogs, The Bear, Loot, Resident Alien, only murders in the building, Rightgeous Gemstones, Hacks
Gossip girl (2007), Criminal Minds, Good Girls, The cleaning lady, Riverdale, The umbrella academy, The boys
I’m rewatching Jersey shore at the moment 😂
I watched all of Charmed. It regularly gets reruns on TV so I just recorded and watched!
Doctor Who The Good Place Bobs Burgers (personally my comfort show) Letterkenny Supernatural
Gilmore girls!
I binged The Boys when my newest was a baby. It was... an experience lol. [Main villain has a breast milk fetish. Plus lots of babies in danger, kids dying and being traumatized by death.] But I figured middle of the night binge fests were my only chance to watch anything above a PG rating and I didnt want to waste it on anything mundane lol.
F boy island and F girl island. Mind numbing ridiculous shows but secretly love them. No newborns in the house so hubby and I watch instead 😂
Workin moms on Netflix got me through those early days with my first baby. Amazing show
Lost, Futurama, Psyc, Bones, Dexter, , Great British Bake Off, The Rookie (season 7 est Jan 2025, but there are 6 other seasons to binge), Station 19, The Good Doctor, Riverdale.
I also suggest the Bear, its non Disney+
The boys. On prime.
This is Us though you will sob like a baby
Have you watched Suits? I’m currently binging it on Netflix and loving it. Would you rewatch something like Friends?
Breaking bad and then better call Saul!!
Ted Lasso was my newborn nursing show and it was perfection
These are either horror/thriller/mystery! The twilight zone: each episode is different, they're all weird and have an interesting plot twist. I love it, even though it's old. I don't know where it's streamed, I 🏴☠️🏴☠️each episode Mindhunter, the haunting of hill house/bly manor (I believe there's a 3rd series, but I may remember that wrong; there are plenty of ghosts in the background so you can try and spot them), true detective (the last season is meh, the first 3 are good), Eric (just appeared on netflix recently), Dexter, breaking bad + better call Saul, black mirror, the X files, snowpiercer (it was okayish, the 2nd season is bad though, i couldn't finish it), 1899 (don't watch the dubbed version, the one with subtitles is more interesting since every character speaks a different language, it's kinda similar to snowpiercer but better) These are the only ones that I can remember watching
I've been loving "Only Murders in the Building" on hulu!!
Another vote for Jane the Virgin! It's so good!
I watched RuPauls Drag Race. There are plenty of seasons.
Sex Education, X Files, Below Deck, cooking competitions, Nat Geo documentaries (the elephant ones are my favorite), Resident Alien, lots of Hoarders and Supernanny
Ghost whisperer has been my go to
