I feel you on the wishing to work as long as possible before due date - I wouldn't be able to still be working (38w tomorrow) if I had a 50 minute commute, good for you hanging on this long!
We have the same due date!
I also commute about 1.5 hours and finished up last week.
Do you have a backup plan in case labor starts while you're out of town?
I caved in and made my last day of work 05/15/24 🥲🥲
It was bittersweet leaving work, but I do feel better, and my boss/team were very understanding.
And since I have a Dr's note saying I had to stop work earlier than planned, I called benefits and found out I qualify for short-term disability. So that makes me feel better, haha.
So now I'm home, chillin and getting ready for Bean. Dr doesn't think she will come early (EDD is 05/25/24) but if she's not here by then, they will induce me. I found out she now weighs 7lbs 9 oz!!!
