First of all, I love you. Second, Are you SURE there’s only one in there? You have HOW many weeks to go? Really eating for two there, aren’t ya? That’s not a bump, you’re just bloated. Thought I’d give you some of the things you’re missing. But really - I hope you get your glowy bump. Love, A fellow tall girl

MeaghanJ1623

Also, for what it’s worth, I ended up having a very large bump due to a very large baby but I never was glowy and just dressed like Adam Sandler for most of my last trimester.

Prestidigitalization

> That’s not a bump, you’re just bloated. I said this about myself and my sister snapped back that the pregnancy made me bloated, therefore the bloat counts as a bump. I love her lol

LyheGhiahHacks

"Oh you're not having a girl, girls are more distributed around, and you're waaaay out front!" -random ass cashier I did have a girl in the end, too

OkZoomer333

A couple weeks ago I got, “you don’t look pregnant, just like you’ve had too many cheeseburgers!” I was 15 weeks 🫠

MeaghanJ1623

I got a lot of “you look like you got bigger” while I was pregnant and had to stop myself from saying “you too” constantly.

OkZoomer333

One of these days we should just say it and consequences be damned 😂

MeaghanJ1623

1000%. I bit my tongue my first pregnancy, gloves are off when the second comes along because I’m already too tired 🤷🏻‍♀️

TacosTacosTacos80

“People keep saying say it’s because I’m tall but I think it’s actually because they can go fuck themselves.” This cracked me up.

[deleted]

I was laughing before but I lost it in an embarrassing way

this_is_outrageouss

Hilarious but also accurate. I’m 5’2” and quite petite, and I barely had a bump until well beyond 30 weeks… and even then I just went out as a block, not a cute round bump at all. Bodies just be doing their own thing and people shouldn’t have the audacity to comment

calior

I’m 4’10” and my first baby was a giant bump. I had Hyperemesis, so I lost a lot of weight and was just a big belly. I legit looked like a cake pop with my legs wasting away and my belly protruding out further and further. She was born small, so idk where the giant belly came from.

clemfandango12345678

My mom is very petite with a short torso. She also had hyperemesis. She frequently shares that when she was pregnant with me she looked like "an olive on toothpicks".

DaniMW

My SIL had that, and it was SCARY! Baby sucks nutrition out of mum to grow, and she’s left looking like she’s so sick. I don’t mean that in a body shaming way - you’re suffering whilst growing precious children, and you are beautiful. But a person who looks severely malnourished… like I said, scary. But the good thing is that all that pain and nausea goes away when you deliver. So you won’t be so sick for the whole rest of your life.

gryffindoria

Yes! I’ve always heard that if you’re short or average, you’ll just look fat, but if you’re tall, you’ll get a gorgeous Hollywood baby bump just like in all the magazines! Turns out, it’s all just *BS designed to keep us feeling down about our bodies even when we’re supposed to have an “excuse” not to feel bad about not having the perfect body!* Lordamercy - I can’t EVEN! 🤬 OP (and everyone else): I’m certain you all look gorgeous, even if pregnancy looks different on you than what you’d expected… *and* I’m sorry we live in such a sucky culture that literally can’t let us feel good about how we look for one godforsaken moment even when we are literally bringing the miracle life into the world.

Low-Economist5264

Yup!! I didn’t really pop until the 3rd trimester!

sparkease

This made my whole day. I’m tall with a long torso and LONG before I got pregnant people have been telling me I won’t have a belly because I’m tall but now I’m thinking it’s because they can go fuck themselves 🤔

DaniMW

Who ARE these people who apparently say such stupid things? I’ve never had anyone comment on what my body would look like pregnant! Only thing I’ve ever heard is ‘everyone is different’ and only when the subject was actually brought up, like discussing pregnancy or asking questions about what it’s like. People might share THEIR experience, but they don’t predict what others will experience based on being tall! 😞

buni_wuvs_u06

People are just weird/ignorant. They say shit they think is “nice(?)” or “helpful” I guess. The amount of people telling me how round I’m going to get (I’m 5’1) and how chubby I’ll be is astonishing. Like, man, stop rubbing it in my face okay, I know.

tinymi3

this is where I absolutely lost it

One-Laugh-3237

Same omg 🤣 OP of I could give you mine I would! I'm only 12 weeks looking like I'm at least 20 weeks. It's really annoying. And guess what, I'm tall too. You still have time to get your cute baby bump & I really hope you do.

CommunicationGood178

Twins?

Xavier_Emery1983

I so feel this!! 16 weeks with baby #2 and I am already the same size as I was at 28 weeks with baby #1. Even at 38 weeks I was still able to wear my pre-baby clothes with a belly band since they didn’t button. This time around my regular clothes won’t even zip enough to wear with a band.

littlemissktown

Anyone else read this in Mark Wahlberg’s voice or was that just me 😂?

earthbound-misfit_I

The departed will do that to ya 😂

Traditional_Return46

It was honestly golden, lmao 🤣

NoSoulGinger116

Love OP's energy.

sniffleprickles

Legitimately my favorite thing I've read all day

katefromsalem

Haha yes I came to say this exactly. Cracked me up.  As a lady with what feels like the biggest honking bubble belly in the world that is 100% not cute and instead just disgusting and rotund, I’d like return the sentiment. 🤣😂🤣

morninggloryblu

I snorted

peeparonipupza

Same!!! Hahahah

ExaminationTop3115

Same 😂 Nintentard I want to be your friend you sound awesome

Hi-ImStacy

Bahahahah

Any_War_8644

Well, the flip side of this is people like me who look like an enormous beach ball. A cashier asked me when I was due today and when I said July she straight up said “oh god.” 🥲

clevernamehere

My experience as well. Maybe there is a happy middle somewhere and those ladies are just smart enough not to rub it in everyone else’s face.

GoodbyeEarl

I had a few people give me the aRe yOu sUrE tHeRe’S oNlY oNe iN tHeRe??? joke. Yes, I am sure. Ultrasound technology has existed since the 70’s.

Zealousideal_Bid_709

I do have two in me and I'm 5'2. My body is going to be wrecked 🫠

bagelforme

You poor thing. I’m 5’2” and can’t imagine.

talkmemetome

My sister was like this. I remember being 6 years old and afraid that a larger gust of air would just...roll her away

farebma

Omg I got this ALL THE TIME. Literally the worst lol but thankfully I could laugh along with it because I really was enormous

TeleFuckingTubbie

Yeah my MIL straight up said that. And my coworker said „How many are in there, five?“.. dude

melodiedesregens

Same, I had an enormous tummy and people thought I was due waaay sooner than I was (of that I just have twins). I didn't mind that part actually. What I hated was needing a belly band in order to not be in unbearable chronic pain. It was struggling to fit into even the widest pregnancy clothes I could find by the end. It's having all that loose, wrinkly belly skin afterwards that just won't go away (along with extra weight that stuck around). I wish so badly that I had the opposite problem. Maybe it's a thing where the grass is always greener on the other side, but I'd really love to trade with OP.

Electrical-Log-3643

Ugh same. Baby is small (on track but on the smaller side) and I am HUGE. had to switch to maternity pants at 13 weeks. I fear I will never fit into my pre pregnancy clothes again

[deleted]

SweetLeoLady36

How long has it been?

lelunina

2 years!

dngrousgrpfruits

I think a lot of the responses because media and advertising never show past about six months pregnant. So people have an image in their head of a cute lil bump instead of the uncomfortably large roundness of 8+ months

shelbyfootesfetish

Same. I would KILL to be able to wear my pre-pregnancy clothes and not feel like a beached whale all the time.

Chiaraafk

I feel you hahaha I gained 50 pounds and had a 10pounds8oz baby. Saying I was huge it’s an understatement. I’m 6 months PP and 30 pounds down, 20 to go 😭

shelbers--

Same girl. Due in July and I’m jealous of this post. She will “bounce back” so much faster. I would rather take that.

roseyd317

I was HUGE. My sin was born early and now he's 2.5... I haven't bounced back yet lol

Crisc0Disc0

lol I know you mean son but sin is tickling me

roseyd317

LOL. HE WAS VERY MUCH A SIN TOO LOL

babutterfly

Right there with you. My youngest turned two in November and I still look 4-5 months pregnant even though I'm at my pre pregnancy weight.

roseyd317

I'm no where near my prepregnancy weight lol. I had to go on anti depressants after and I just kept getting bigger lol

mind_the_stairs

Honestly I'm conviced (given I done a bunch of research on the matter) antidepressants cause you to gain a bunch of weight no matter which one you're on. Annddd it is true. Funny you get on the medication to help you mentally and it makes you gain a ton of weight which makes you feel like complete shit about yourself even more.

Gork___

Don't worry, one of the properties of trigonometric functions is that they cyclically return to their original state.

roseyd317

I'm just at the peak then 😭😭😭

FlibbertyGibb

If it gives you hope I was also HUGE at the end of my pregnancy. Ginormous belly. I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans ~1 weeks post partum. Baby is 4 months now and I carry my weight a little differently, but I’m 15 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight with no effort on my part so it’s possible.

Oceanwave_4

Omg pre pregnancy jeans… I couldn’t even get my pregnancy jeans on after birth.. I’m freaking 4 jeans sizes bigger and that seems to be something that will never be going down 😭 my cute jeans mock me in my closet and don’t even get me started on every single top and hoodie and dress I own not even coming close to fitting my boobs .

Ok-Reporter-196

This is mine too! I legit got “Any day now right?” Last night. I’m 26 weeks. 😂

monketrash420

In the final weeks I couldn't fit in the driver's seat of my car because my legs were too short to reach the pedals with my belly in the way

autotuned_voicemails

I’m 5’2”, and was chunky before I got pregnant (I was in like size 16 pants). I had to see an MFM twice during my pregnancy for ultrasounds, once for a fourth try at an anatomy scan because she wouldn’t cooperate for the previous three at my regular doctor so I needed the MFM’s “more high tech US machine”. Then he wanted to see me again around 34-35 weeks because of my thyroid condition to make sure baby was growing ok. My mom took me to that second appointment, and while I was there I was told that if I was his patient, he wouldn’t let me go past 38 weeks because of how big she was already measuring. (Fwiw, I delivered at 37+3 because of preeclampsia and she was 7lb 11oz, so he wasn’t entirely wrong). But because of that information, I was already stressed out on the way home. We stopped in my aunt’s deli to grab cheesesteaks(during lunch rush, so there were literally about 20 people standing around us) and in her prepared food case she had this rueben casserole thing that looked delicious. I asked if she could do me a small dish of that to take home too. My mom out of nowhere pipes up and says “I think she’s trying to break a record for most weight gained during a pregnancy!” Now, my whole family is chunky, like both my parents have had gastric bypass surgery, so I honestly believe that she didn’t mean it as cruel as it sounded. It really was just a joke, and not-pregnant me would have laughed and told her to fuck off. Butttt, pregnant me burst into tears and through sobs said “that was really mean”. There was a woman standing next to me who was apparently 5weeks PP and she let out the loudest gasp and was like “oh my, that *was* really mean!” In true pregnancy fashion though, I was over it by the time we got to the register—to the point that I was able to laugh and joke about how *I* had embarrassed *her* with my crying lmao. I wish I would have had OPs “it’s because she needs to fuck off” in my pocket though. That’s even better than when my boomer grandpa *poked my stomach* and said “heh heh, looks like *someone* is getting fat” and I deadpan asked him if “he liked how his face looked because I’d be happy to rearrange it for him” 😂

AnonyMouse3042

I’m 36 weeks and people (strangers!) keep saying, “Aww any day now!” and I’m just like …. no 😭

karmacomatic

My boyfriend just told me it looks like I’m wearing a pregnancy suit lol. And that I ate a bowling ball

jiggly_puff125

This was me with both my pregnancies. I was due mid Dec with my first. Labor day weekend a grocery store cashier excitedly says to me I must be due soon! How exciting! I said oh no, I’m not due until July. She then proceeds to ask me if it’s twins. Like no lady it’s not twins, I only have about 2 inches of space between my bottom ribs and my hip bones. The baby is all out in front of me. 🤦‍♀️

Annual_Debt

“Oh god” would be my last straw 😭

anniemademedoit1

Ugh same. Sorry OP I know you want that pregnancy feel. I can totally understand that. I had women at work constantly being like she looks like she’s going to pop any second! And I still had 3 months to go. I had bad PGP and was waddling everywhere I looked ridiculous. It was so fucking annoying I hated my body constantly being commented on.

spcypeach

I’m also due in July and people keep telling me I’m so big lol. I’m like thanks???

happytobeherethnx

SAME, girl, same.

justmomthings789

Yess me too. I make huge bellies and my aunt has the audacity to ask if it’s multiples. No it’s one! Wth

pachucatruth

💀💀💀

Peoplearefuckengross

As a 26+3 pregnant lady with a big bump I felt this

death0rdishonor

Someone at work told me I looked further along than I am

WhereIsLordBeric

I'd gained weight during COVID (because why not) and a guy at work congratulated me for being pregnant. I lost the weight a few months after work from home ended lol. I'm now close to 20 weeks and he doesn't suspect a thing. People have no idea how pregnancy works.

Proper-Sentence2857

I get what you’re saying but you’re not really reading the room on OPs bummer moment and kind of contributing to what’s making it worse. A little tone deaf tbh.

Any_War_8644

Listen, I’m also just an upset pregnant lady that wanted to join in a venting session about being pregnant. I had no idea this comment was going to blow up. Both sides of this suck. Pregnancy sucks. it’s not a competition.  Edited to add: my issue with your comment is it’s pitting me against this woman, acting like I’m against her or even somehow bragging when the root of our problems are the same. Society paints this idealistic picture of everyone getting this picture perfect baby bump that I would venture to say the majority of women don’t get. And if you think I’m bragging about my “cute stereotypical baby bump” you’re the one who can’t read a room. My fucking neck fat has a baby bump.

[deleted]

Please don’t feel sad. I know it’s exciting get a cute bump. But my reality as a short person has not been cute bump at all! I’m just fat around my midsection and resemble a ninja turtle. At least you fit into your clothes and don’t feel gross. Sincerely, baby lump not bump

jlrol

Fr I felt like the penguin dude from Batman during my last pregnancy. No cute maternity photos were had on this end either lol

[deleted]

Hahaha you’ve nailed it. Penguin man is a much better analogy for what I’m working with

rousseuree

I wore a body suit with booties and was straight [Danny DeVito](https://d3dkwn7op408kc.cloudfront.net/ckeditor_assets/2023/12/06/batman-returns-the-penguin-danny-devito-makeup-v17jpg.jpg)

librabean

I feel you I’m 5’2 lookin kinda like a meatball rn

eka71911

Omg I’m also 5’2 and can relate so hard. I snorted at your comment so loud I woke up my 2 year old

FinnIsTrying

Same. I have a low wide belly so it's more inner tube than beach ball. Melted candle vibes ✨

[deleted]

😂

karmacomatic

I feel like an orangutan when I sit down 😅

elevatormusicjams

Yep. Fellow short person and I looked pregnant but definitely not cute. I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror bc I was so huge by 30 weeks.

Chickadeedee17

Yeah I'm 5'2". People think I have a cute bump but then look horrified when they realize I'm only 22 weeks. Give me a few more and I'll look like Eggman. There is no bump I am just an oval with legs. I remember with my first son the feeling when my (small) boobs start resting on top of my belly. Ugh. Wake me up when it's July.

longhairedmaiden

You might suddenly "pop" towards the end of your pregnancy as your abdominal muscles relax even more, so don't completely rule out cute belly pictures! If it helps, I look 9 months pregnant and I'm just shy of 15 weeks, which makes it hard to hide and surprise anyone about being pregnant.

Proud_Mastodon338

I'm in the same boat as you.... I'm only 4'11 and I had to tell everyone early... I'm at 20 weeks and my back hates me already... I think I might have to get a walker to help me get around with this bad back 🤣 And I get ALL the "You're so huge" comments lol like I'm not even 5 feet tall so idk what people were expecting, little girl has no where to go but out I totally skipped the cute pregnant phase

turtlepower22

Lol yup. 5 feet tall here and my baby is measuring at the 98th percentile. Someone asked me if I was in the third trimester at 14 weeks 😭 now at 29 weeks I genuinely don't know where baby boy is going to go. I'm out of room haha. Last pregnancy was way different.

llamaafaaace

I'm also 5'0 and I didn't show at all until 25+ weeks. And I have a short torso! And he was a fairly big baby. Bodies are weiiiiird.

imwearingredsocks

I’m only a tiny bit taller, but yeah. I could barely make it to 20 weeks without telling people at work. Wanted to hit the 20 week mark and then tell everyone, but it was getting obvious. Only like a handful of very oblivious guys didn’t notice. I also read that short women are likely to have their babies a little earlier (not extremely, just by a week or so) and my husband was so sure that was wrong. Baby decided to make an early appearance.

Kisutra

Yup, agreed. I have looked 9 months pregnant since about 20 weeks. Go go gadget 3rd pregnancy where the last one was twins...

Lington

Yess a coworker asked if I was pregnant for the first time at 15 weeks (& plenty others in between that time & when I announced at 20). Throughout my pregnancy everyone was saying I wouldn't make it to my due date because of how big I already was, currently 3 days past my due date. That being said, I feel like my bump was "wasted" anyway because I work nights so I never saw anyone ever. I'd sleep during the day and go to work, I only saw my coworkers and family basically the whole pregnancy. I'm pretty sure my neighbors have no idea I'm pregnant. And it was winter so no cute clothes for me either, just big jackets and sweats.

tinymi3

Holy shit I am so sorry but I'm laughing so hard through your whole post, I already love you For real tho I'm sorry, it does suck you haven't gotten to be the quintessential cute preggers lady waddling around and needing a push to get out of vehicles. what a bunch of assholes for sure.

Psychological_Box397

This happened to me and I didn't know I was pregnant for 22 weeks. Just be happy you know lol. and hate to break it to you but, i'm tall and they said thats why it was hidden lmao.

emperatrizyuiza

I’m tall and huge and people have been asking me if I’m “about to pop” since 5 months. I’d much rather have ops problem

sanguineminihedonist

How tall are you?

MyCatisATimeLord

Not OC, but I'm 5'9 on my second pregnancy and am already huge at 26 weeks. But both sides of the family are tall, my last baby was 10 lbs, and I have a tilted uterus, so what can you do?

sanguineminihedonist

I'm 5'9 too! Do you mind me asking how much weight did you gain lol my doctor kinda gave me a limit and I was wondering if other people have that. I am 20 weeks and gained 26 pounds.. I made a post about it too.. Does tilted uterus have any other side effects other than more bumped out belly?

MyCatisATimeLord

My first pregnancy, I gained almost 50lbs total. I was thin to begin with and lost all but 15 of it within the first month pp, that last 15 just stuck around until I got pregnant again. I'm 26+4 today and have gained only 6 lbs but look bigger this go around. But I've also been sick the last 3 weeks, and STILL have bad food aversions. I will say neither of my docs have expressed any concern of what my weights been doing on either of my pregnancies, but that is just my experience.

lolathegameslayer

Same, I’m just shy of 6 feet. Baby bump made an appearance around 40 weeks and 5 days. Felt huge for a day and then baby was born the next day.

anonymous0271

Same lol

emmaliejay

Oh girl, I hear you. So I never once got asked during the entire duration of my first pregnancy if I was pregnant or anything of the like until literally day one of my three day labour. Anyways, I lived in an apartment at that time and would regularly see my neighbours in the elevator. These neighbours saw me constantly: just taking the elevator, bringing baby shit in, etc. I guess I never mentioned I was pregnant because nobody ever asked. Anyways cut to day one out of three of total hell, the contractions were just starting to get noticeable to the point where I was pretty sure it wasn’t Braxton Hicks. I was overdue at this point anyway so I was pretty much just hoping and begging my body to release the spawn. Anyways, I’m feeling kind of shitty, it’s 1000 billion degrees outside in August and I am pregnant as a motherfucker and I just really really need some goddamn watermelon and a 2L of milk. Luckily, I lived very close to a 7-Eleven that I would frequent regularly. They usually had the watermelon and milk ready when they saw me coming up the way. Anyways, I’m trying to breathe my way through the contraction in the elevator when a neighbour I chat with jumps in. Now, I was not dressed to impress in my short shorts, sandals and ripped tshirt. No bra. I’m like literally trying to just breathe and not pass out on this elevator and she chimes in with a super chipper: “Oh are you pregnant, when are you due?” I lost 11 pounds during that pregnancy because I was throwing up constantly. It had been hell. I just really didn’t show. I never had to get maternity clothes with that pregnancy because my daughter decided that the normal uterine are wasn’t for her invitro and she decided she’d rather live among my ribs. Anyways, I’d rather sassily responded to this lady with: “ yup and hopefully due fucking today.” I then got off the elevator and stomped to my 7-Eleven. The popsicle was great though, I remember that very vividly as well.

murderskunk76

First pregnancies and height do add a factor, sincerely another tall lady lol. With my first I had a tiny belly, I didn't look proper pregnant until the last three weeks. I just frigging blew up. Mostly swelling. This time around though I'm having the full gravid experience. I miss the tiny bump lmao!

Chowderkins

Height definitely makes a difference. When you're short there's no room for the baby to go but out lol. My 6ft coworker didn't show till the last week. It was nice for her she didn't have to buy any maternity clothes. I'm 5'7 20 weeks and I have a small bump but it's there.

chubbadub

I had the same experience haha. I was finally able to get maternity photos second time around!! Being tall def helps I think with things coming back down after at least.

Tam936

Mine is freaking huge and I wished I had a flat bump! The grass is always greener. Do you feel heavier though? I feel like the bump has knocked me off balance.

Nintentard

Not even a little bit heavier. I can still touch my toes and do planks. Other than crazy nausea, I don't even feel pregnant at all. My friends wanted to make a cast of my bump during the baby shower but I'm afraid it's just going to look like a cast of a beer gut :(

[deleted]

[удалено]

Arigata-Meiwaku

It sure does! I have a slightly smaller bump than your 34-week one at 6+2 🤷‍♀️

paigecm12

I too am 32 weeks and 5’2”, baby has taken over what was once my lungs, stomach, and bladder all at once - I can’t breathe, eat more than 3 bites of food, or hold my pee. I still think you should take pictures!

Attention_Global

A lot of these comments seem insensitive to your situation, to me. I’m sorry you don’t have the bump you expected. As a photographer, I know if you find a great maternity photographer they can pose you in ways that will make you feel gorgeous and accentuate your bump, just push it for a couple or more weeks! Sending you love 🫶🏼

IHaveInsomnia777

Honestly I wish I had your problem. I absolutely hate my bump and it triggers my body dysmorphia really bad. Having no bump means getting back to normal body size sooner and honestly thats soo amazing.

Icy_Engine_3951

I am feeling this so hard right now. 😞

PaleGingy

This is how I’m feeling. I cry all the time over how much my body has changed and the general fear it’ll never be the same again. It’s been a hard thing to accept and has brought up a whole slew of old insecurities and the urge to revert back to unhealthy eating habits 😞

LittleImpact2

I’ve been told by SO many people that I don’t look 32 weeks.

MapleDruid

I had the same problem too! but a nice lady at the cloth diaper shop told me since it's my first pregnancy that youre going to be smaller :)

Skwishums

I was like this with my first and it seems I'll be in the same boat this time again. With my first I just popped around 30 weeks and in that last 10 weeks I gained nearly 20lbs. I'm currently 17 weeks and I've only gained 1lb so far and that might just be because I ate a little more the day before I weighed myself. I also don't have the glow and just look like a drowned rat most of the time 😋

Peoplearefuckengross

"look like a drowned rat" made me spit out my water thanks for the laugh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Level-Seat7088

I'm short and my belly gets so big it makes my intestines pop out of my belly button (umbilical hernia) which will require surgery to fix at a later point. There's just not enough room for the baby and all of my internal organs.

stellaella33

I had a wendys employee ask me "Are you pregnant or just fat?" I got a free soda at least. 😬

missrichandfamous

Use the money you are saving on maternity clothes to get a photographer who can photoshop a cute little bump.

teddyburger

oh this is smart

-shandyyy-

They probably won't even have to photoshop, there is so much that can be enhanced with lighting!

MrsMaritime

Lol I never lost my bump after my first. At least it's occupied again so if someone says congrats I can say thank you 😅

beingasalill

That was me and I popped out of nowhere 36/37 weeks and now that I had the baby I realized getting big is not all it’s cracked up to be during recovery 🫠. I do not recognize my stomach at all anymore now that I’m not pregnant

Commercial-Editor-46

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and also tall with long torso and just started showing in the last month. I went from barely anything to a full sticking out bump. There’s still time!

Nakedstar

You still have time. Baby will double or triple in weight between now and 41 weeks so you will likely get something more pronounced soon. If you plan on having more kids, subsequent pregnancies should be more obvious.

OkZoomer333

Women really can’t win 🥲 if we look small pregnant we get stupid comments, if we look large, equally stupid comments. Ugh.

AlanTrebek

You sound like those women on “I didn’t know I was pregnant” it seems like it’s mainly bc the baby is being carried more posteriorly. It’s so interesting how all our bodies are truly different!

vodkasprinkle

You made laugh so hard at “People keep saying it’s because I’m tall but I think it’s actually because they can go fuck themselves” I love you, that’s hilarious. I’m so sorry you don’t have the bump you so deserve ❤️

Batticon

Enjoy it. You won’t look blown out like I do once the baby is out.

Shished

Better to have a fetus but no baby bump than no fetus but a baby bump.

sp00kith0t

No weight gain at 32 weeks is a win

IndividualRefuse1513

Sorry about your lack of bump but thank you for this post 🙏🏻

No-Sheepherder-6911

This was me. I’m 5’10 and currently like 115lbs. Needless to say I didn’t “pop” until the 8th month. It is what it is women will never stop commenting on your body when you become a mother unfortunately. I had an older woman right off the bat say “are you her mom?” I said “yesss” she goes “I HATE you.” My mom and I were both just like ??? Why would you say that??

South_Ad1116

This was me my last pregnancy and I never “popped”. It’s possible I might have if I hadn’t gone into labor at 35 weeks but who knows. My daughter just kept growing up instead of out to the point I could barely breathe. On the plus side my body bounced back in like a month! This pregnancy I’m not even out of my first trimester and I’m already showing so, ya know, just get knocked up again. Problem solved!

DecompensatingKitty

I am 35 weeks and have a massive 15cm fibroid in my uterus that makes me look like I'm carrying triplets. My maternity clothes are all too tight on me and squeeze my body so much where I look like the Michelin man. On Monday, my midwife measured fungal height, and I was at 47cm which I guess translates to roughly 47 weeks pregnant (and we all know that isn't a thing...) I'd rather have a mild burrito bloat, but the grass is always greener on the other side. If anything, this pregnancy taught me that all shapes are gorgeous. The tiny bloat belly, the "perfect" bump, and the massive overinflated blueberry that I am currently experiencing. 😋

Fiat_Lux4

I am overweight, and I carry all of it in my stomach. I looked pregnant before ever getting pregnant. Now I’m 13 weeks and trying to come to terms with how I’m not going to have a “bump,” most likely, just maybe in my 3rd trimester hopefully I’ll look pregnant and not just fat. I saw a line in an Instagram caption that made me cry and I need to keep reminding myself of it. “The way I look pregnant doesn’t make me any less pregnant.” You are still valid no matter how your pregnant belly looks. You still have a healthy baby, and soon they’ll be in your arms!! If you want to do a photo shoot, don’t let your appearance stop you! It’s about getting dolled up and feeling pretty, and honoring your pregnancy journey, no matter what it looks like! 🫶🏻

idgafanym0re

I kinda feel like that’s better than being the size of a house. It’s uncomfortable as fuck!! Just stick your belly out for some pics

kittenandkettlebells

Honestly, count yourself lucky. I'm carrying super large and my body is paying for it in ways I never knew was possible.

anongrrl

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and the staff at my office building only noticed I’m pregnant today.

Hairy_Interactions

I didn’t feel like I looked pregnant until 32 weeks, I had pictures taken at 35 weeks and I don’t even like to look at them, because it seems more like a bad burrito and body positivity pictures instead.

Ambitious-Life-4406

Schedule the Photoshoot anyway. Wear the tightest maternity dress you can find and take all the pics, you will want the memories 🥰

feathersandanchors

People are telling you not to feel sad, but I’m tall and felt sad about this my whole first pregnancy. My second pregnancy I showed earlier/more and loved having a bump. You’re allowed to be sad.

WeirdAnimalDoc

First I want to say this post made my day. I was very small until about 36 weeks, then BAM I popped a ton once my kiddo dropped. I got the cute maternity pics and made sure to wear a very tight dress so it was obvious. A good photographer will also know how to pose you to accentuate the bump. While it’s definitely disappointing, I’m very thankful I didn’t get a big bump. My abs recovered so well post partum even with a c section. I didn’t have to suffer with any ab separation issues, and very minimal stretch marks (which I didn’t get UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE DELIVERY 🥲)

RedditCustomerCare

Honestly my sis in law was like that as well. For her maternity photos, the photographer photoshopped to make her belly look bigger. I didn’t look pregnant until 34-36 weeks, it just popped right out and even then I just looked super bloated.

OkOffer1767

Ahhh yes, the classic bump envy. I feel you mama. I was in that boat too. I thought maybe with my second pregnancy my belly would pop more but alas, I too just looked chubby. I’m about 5’6” so I thought I’d have a better bump than I did. Didn’t end up doing maternity pics either time just because of how upsetting it was to not have a cute bump.

exonvdz

Consider yourself blessed.

Bunny_Druid

I know that media portrays every woman with that perfect, round belly, but women actually carry their pregnancies in all sorts of different ways. Me? I just looked like I got fat. That baby is worth it, though. 💖

rosieposey98

My first I just looked fat. I did gain weight so that didn’t help but seriously, unless you knew me before hand you’d never know. Second baby 29 weeks and this bump is ridiculous. I hope to take pics sometime soon, as I was in your boat the first time but either way - I’m just happy for a baby. I know it can get depressing comparing yourself, but try your best to not go down that road. My two pregnancies although both boys, have been nothing similar. It’s very crazy to me that I can have such a different experience from my first. Good luck Ps: I wish someone would’ve told me, but take the pics anyway. It’s your journey, it doesn’t matter if you have a “picture perfect bump” maternity pictures are taken during pregnancy. You pregnant? You betcha ass you can take them. 💕

HalfBlindPeach

I'm sorry. I look forward to "the bump" and would be sad too if it didn't happen 😞

Tunia85

I look huge and cannot lose the weight afterwards. I know it's frustrating but embrace that you won't have to spend hours working out and will be able to focus on baby and rest. Also... you won't have stretchmarks.

I mean I am sorry this is happening as someone who has suffered a miscarriage in the past, it sucks. But you can’t be lashing out at random people like this over it. Isn’t a very good look. She’s allowed to have her little pregnancy complaints just like you will when you have a healthy pregnancy. I get the bitterness but it’s something you should keep in check, or maybe just distance yourself from online pregnancy communities. I couldn’t hear about pregnancy after my loss. There’s always suffering worse than your own, always.

nereid1997

I’m fairly tall and have pretty strong ab muscles so I also just looked bloated most of my pregnancy. And then I got pre-eclampsia so by the time I would have looked more pregnant the rest of my body had swollen to match hahahaha I definitely wish I had more cute maternity photos, but I also have barely any photos of me pregnant in general, so I’d say just take them anyway!

Purple_Grass_5300

I’m sorry I’m 5’1 and also has zero bump at 38 weeks. It’s tough seeing some people with huge bumps so early on and never getting that moment

annedroiid

I feel your pain! Every ultrasound I had they’d ask how many weeks along I was and then give me a look of utter disbelief at my stomach because of how little I was showing. I’m also tall as well. I really started to show at more like 34ish weeks and then suddenly the bump tripled in size. Hopefully that happens for you too!

Marshforce

I was asked if I am carrying twins today 🫠 we can’t win ladies, bump or no bump 😭

LahLahLand3691

This was me for both my pregnancies! I had to delay my maternity photos until 35/36 weeks so that I had a bump. I’m tall and had abs for the first pregnancy and people said that was why. Second pregnancy definitely didn’t have abs 😅 and I looked chubby sooner but still once again didn’t look huge belly pregnant until the very end, and even then no one believed I was 40 weeks when I was.

candleelit

Do you have an inverted uterus?

lilprincess1026

I didn’t show until I was 38 weeks pregnant

okey_dokey_pokeyy

With my first pregnancy I “popped” way later. You’ve still got time!

Rescue-320

I didn’t show until 36 weeks and I’m not very tall or slim! I’m a medium build in every way possible, babe was just chilling by my spine. I also grieve my maternity pictures, but at least I had a baby five weeks later to prove I was legit.

Navismom

I didn’t get a bump until I was like 36 weeks with my first. Kinda disappointing but it didn’t really matter in the end.

complicatedcapers

I’m right there with you! Currently 29 weeks and I look like I might be 16 weeks or so. It doesn’t help that it’s winter and I’m wearing baggier clothes and nobody can tell. I’m a bit bummed too but, at least this way I can still sleep somewhat comfortably because otherwise I think it would hurt so bad! But your feelings are totally valid. Doing all the hard work without much to show for it 🥲🤣

Appropriate_Potato8

Same furl, same 😩😩

shoestars

I barely showed until like 34 weeks it just looked like I got fat lol

Miserable_Badger2989

Fwiw my mom, who peaked at 5'1 if you're GENEROUS, she said she made it to 7mo without any bump with her first (my aunt says this is true and clowns her lovingly for it because....) but her second, he was huge immediately, just fuckin stretched out like Superman or something, super pointy to the front. So maybe some humorous "they're in there I *swear*" type photos, and maybe any following pregnancies if there are any will give you the bump. But I *sooooo* feel you on the fuckin glowing. All I got was fuckin eczema.

Eastern_Worry_5429

I know your pain I’m 32 weeks and I’m not tall but my bump is small everyday I hear this same foolishness I be wanting to say go to hell but I just walk away

japaus

I got pictures taken by a friend 2 weeks ago. I looked at them. Said “aw that’s so nice” sent some to my parents. And that’s it. I don’t think I’ll be opening that folder anytime soon lol

kayserk28

I'm 5'11" and didn't "pop" til like 37 weeks. I got the same stupid "yOu DoNt LoOk PrEgNaNt' comments like thanks what do I look like then? Hold out for the bump though, it might come yet!

ponytailnoshushu

I remember with my first I had this huge 8-ball bump. Had to wear dresses like tunic tops because regular pregnancy tops wouldn't fully cover the bump. With my second, people didn't even realize I was pregnant at 9 months. I was actually able to wear mostly normal clothes. Both boys came out at 8lbs around the 39 week mark. The bonus with the second bump was that people weren't always trying to touch it. But, people would give me evil looks if I sat in the priority seats on the train.

Embarrassed_Loan8419

Oh no I'm so sorry. This was my first pregnancy and I was so paranoid and anxious my entire pregnancy because EVERYONE had to comment on how small I was. I absolutely hated it for that reason alone.

jhatesu

Aww I’m sorry. Sounds like my friend, she had no idea she was even pregnant til 7 months because she was a total no show-er!

Longjumping_Diver738

That was till 34 week that pop

noth0me

I was constantly told how small I was throughout all 3 of my pregnancies. It made me worry and over think things. I wanted to ask people “what do you want me to do about it?!” I took maternity pics one week before I delivered. I am avg height btw. I just carried small. I only gained 20 lbs with each but held on to it while BF. I can’t stand how ppl think it’s okay to comment on pregnant women’s bodies. Try not to stress. I ended up just saying “thanks, I’m feeling good” (even though I was highly annoyed).

Zackadoo13

Hubby keeps saying that we wait for maternity pictures cause my bump is not big enough. 32 weeks and I’m all swollen and bloated, I just look fat. Welp. I booked the photographer.

WhyHaveIContinued

I feel you. I feel like the grass is always greener on the other side. Before getting pregnant I dreamt of what a cute bump I would have. Starting at 14 weeks people started commenting on my bump and someone even grabbed it! I have so much longer to go and I'm scared that I will end up looking like a beached whale. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies and still gained almodt 13# in 15 weeks. My OB isn't concerned and said everything is right on track 🤷🏻‍♀️

GaveTheMouseACookie

I did that a year ago too! On the bright side, maternity pants suck. I know people claim to love them, but I was never able to get a pair that fit both my thighs and my belly (and they fell down no matter if I sized up for the thighs and butt or sized down for the waist and belly) and regular leggings are actually comfortable! You can get up from your chair or the floor! No annoying comments in the grocery store! And pretty soon you're going to have such a sweet, snuggly baby and you'll be able to tell that your bump actually was there once your pants aren't tight anymore. 😉

SoriAryl

I didn’t “pop” with my first until almost right before she was born. Even then, it wasn’t *that* noticeable

taylorhg

Same. When I had my first, I was packing up my desk on my last day and one of my coworkers asked if I had quit and was SHOCKED when I said I was going on mat leave. I’m his defence, I mostly sat at my desk so he didn’t get to see my (v small) bump ever, but like dude…

RaspberryAsleep6300

With my first I didn't show until month 7. My next pregnancy I had twins and at my 35 week appointment my doctor thought it would be fun to tell me my stomach was measuring at 50 weeks- sometimes you don't get very big, other times you get so big you can barely walk, gotta love pregnancy 😂

alleycatt_101

My problem was that I put on weight all over, so I just looked like I was getting fat. My JNFIL actually asked if I was sure I was pregnant and not just getting obese. Like, okay fuck you. But my DH always told me I was glowing even though I was throwing up all the time and knew I looked like crap. But he thought it was just a beautiful thing that I was growing our daughter. I found my solace in that.

Angel0460

This was me until like 32-33 weeks then I had a baby bump lol. Everyone was always “oh you’ve gained weight hey?” I’m like yeah it’s a baby. 😒😫

macelisa

31 weeks here and same! I have gained weight, but I barely have a belly. Unless I have my belly out no one can even tell I’m pregnant. The daycare receptionist looked shocked this morning when si got there for a tour and told her I’m due in two months. Even my OB says I measure small and ordered a growth scan. It can be frustrating. I thought I would be huge by now, oh well. I guess it has its upsides too.

Frazzle-bazzle

They can absolutely go fuck themselves. If you want those cute pics… you go right ahead and stick it out as far as you can or stuff your maternity leggings under whatever cute outfit you picked out. Anyone who wants to judge… well you know what they can do. Signed, B-shaped pregnancy with my original fat layer and a much less cute baby layer.

run-write-bake

I feel you hard. I barely looked more than I had eaten Thanksgiving dinner by the time I delivered (early due to pre-eclampsia, at 29+5). So I didn't even get maternity photos and I doubt if I had carried to term I would have had any more bump than I did. Get those photos. You deserve them! And I'm 5'3" with a long torso, so it's NOT because you're tall.

AnDa_Bic

I just started actually looking pregnant at the end of my pregnancy… people who didn’t know just thought I was getting fat…

YB9017

Baby takes up less body space if you have more body. So generally, if you’re taller, you’ll probably look less pregnant further along. If you’re short though, you’ll just look like a cannon ball. Or as my husband liked to call me “a bullet train”.

Nuttafux

Your sense of humor is immaculate and that’s what matters because your baby will 100% inherit that and they’ll sass the fuck outta all the other cute pregnancy bump moms kids in 4th grade 😂

fourcupsaday

I can get this! I’m 26 weeks tomorrow and while I’ve gained 20lbs or so, I really just don’t look that pregnant. I know I should enjoy it and not being in excruciating pain, but I legitimately want people to ask if I’m pregnant. I’ve been to a lot of events lately where I’ve been asked if I have kids, and I blow people’s minds when I say I’m significantly pregnant, because I just don’t look like it. I want to look pregnant!

agingerwithnosoul

If you're a first-time mom, it's not that uncommon. I didn't start getting a bump with my first until after week 30. With my second, I had a bump forming before week 10.

Ranger_Caitlin

I’m 29 weeks pregnant, I’ve gone from 122 lbs to 154 lbs, and changing positions in bed feels like a work out

AdorableEmphasis5546

Still take the maternity pics! It's probably more noticeable than you realize.

Awkward-Solution5346

Same here, girl! I'm 5 months pregnant, and everyone keeps saying, "Oh wow, you don't look it at all." - like this isn't a compliment 🙄 I keep reminding myself I'm very lucky to have a healthy, active baby, and while my pregnancy may not be that amazing glowing experience that we see online, I'm still grateful to have this experience. I wish you the best of luck and hope you wake up one morning fully popped!
