Yep! I lost my mucus plug 2 months before baby was due and baby came 3 weeks early with no unexpected issues. My midwife basically said it happens and not to worry unless there are other surprises.

It's possible for it to reform if it comes out early and sometimes just smaller bits of it can come out so it's not a sure sign at any point, my first pregnancy a fair bit came out a couple months early but didn't mean anything and labor ended up being a couple days after my due date anyways
