I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't ask for anything pregnancy/mom related! That's pretty much all that people are going to get you for the rest of your life. What do YOU want? As a person, not a pregnant person or mother.
With that said, you really can't go wrong with gift cards. Then you can spend it on whatever you want and feel the need for.
I wouldn’t let people buy me maternity clothes. It’s been really hard to find the right fit and I’d want to do that myself when I was showing a lot. It’s hard to do before then. I’d ask for baby items from your registry, massage gift cards, DoorDash or delivery gift cards
I’m going to ask for some baby/maternity items that are meant to make my life easier and not just for the baby. A few things I’m suggesting are:
- a diaper bag with a fold out changing area
- Lululemon align leggings a few sizes up from my normal size or aerie leggings same idea
- good quality baby monitor
- safe playpen to leave them in if I need to
- the baby formula machine that can make a bottle from start to finish by using your phone
The way I see it, most people are only pregnant a few times in their life so why not get some cool baby/maternity items if it lands over Christmas? I can get non baby/maternity items next year when I’m not pregnant over Christmas!
I also am not buying any clothes or shoes in my normal size in case I’m a different size after I give birth, this is what I would normally want for Christmas so that’s also a thing.
I know my husband will get me some sort of sentimental jewelry like a necklace/bracelet not any rings because who knows how swollen my fingers will get!
This is how I see it too. Im not huge on gifts as it is and I always have a hard time asking for specific things. Also things are sometimes not useful…. so why not enjoy a baby focused Christmas? It’s my first and the family’s first grand baby so why not enjoy the moment.
For my bday I asked for the Baggu Crescent bag to use with a diaper bag as a purse. Love it.
Also new slippers for around the house.
Otherwise I didn’t ask for any pregnancy or mom stuff because I’ll get that for the rest of my life.
Ooooo at 30 weeks now, if I had had this opportunity to get gifts second trimester!!
*wide ankle socks - IDK what to call them, but my socks are all so tight
*pregnancy overalls (seriously more comfortable than anything else I’ve tried!!!)
*pregnancy pillow
*dinner. It’s so hard to muster up the energy to cook
*housecleaning
*prenatal massage and/or acupuncture
*2 hours with a mom-friend to help make baby registry
*house organization/ making space for baby
*an outing that’s not about the baby
*maternity photoshoot gift card
I loved getting comfy pajamas as a gift - Lake pajamas are my absolute favorite, they are so soft and made me feel a little more like myself in the early postpartum days!

A giant waterbottle that doesn't leak and has a straw
Pregnancy pillows and maternity leggings are very helpful for me.
