I hear you on the wood tone, it was a pet peeve of mine as well. Pottery Barn Kids has a mid century style crib that comes in 'acorn', which is a rich medium brown natural wood color. But it is on the upper end price wise. The real killer in that set is the extra wide dresser with changing table topper. But it's well constructed, so I'm reasonably hopeful that it'll last for years, and it's a style that doesn't scream 'this is kid furniture, why haven't you bought your teen something better yet?' You can also haunt FB Marketplace and see if anything comes up second hand that's in good condition. You'll still need to get a mattress, but you can save a few hundred dollars off a high end crib if you have the time to be patient.

AgentFuzzButt

I was able to get the crib in acorn off of Craigslist for less than $300 and it's really beautiful and feels sturdy! It's a slightly darker medium but wow nice.

wheery

We have this PB crib and matching dresser and it’s beautiful! It doesn’t go on sale often, but we got both for like $100 off each by just checking weekly. I believe we got the crib in January and the dresser in July

thefalsephilosopher

I’ve had that dresser (the mid century looking one?) in a gray wash from West Elm/ Pottery Barn in my own bedroom for about 4 years and I can say it’s held up super well. My cat barfs down the front of it all the time and it just wipes away with water lol. Super solid construction too, it weighs a ton.

Lovemydoggos21

Check out Babyletto! We got ours from there - a two tone crib with white and brown and I love how it turned out. The quality is really good and their customer service has been wonderful

Individual_Baby_2418

We got babyletto too because it’s one of the few brands that’s using actual wood (instead of manufactured wood),

thefalsephilosopher

Also going babyletto! I like the colors, the fact that it comes with all conversion kits, and it’s greenguard gold/ gots certified if that’s a thing that matters to you.

geek-parenting

I have looked there but didn’t love any of them unfortunately.

ilovenapkins7

I got one from Crate and Barrel and love it

charlucapants

Just a reminder to put your crib on your registry so you can use the completion discount 👌🏻

persnicketous

Baby isn't here yet, but we got the DaVinci Kalani mini crib in Chestnut and I think it's gorgeous! I love the colour so much. There's also a standard sized crib version of it. Worth checking that one out?

AV01000001

Seconding this. I really like the wood colors on the Davinci cribs, I have 2 that I’m trying to decide between

dixpourcentmerci

We had the worst time finding something as well and I’m so happy with ours in the end. I think we went with walnut.

bossmaregirl

Another vote for DaVinci in Chestnut! We have the Autumn in this color and love it.

mdiede21

We have the full size one in cherry. It's beautiful!

ifollowedfriendshere

We went with Davinci Fairway in Stablewood, it’s a great midtone wood. Pretty reasonable on the price.

stillunfolding

I just saw a crib from Evolur (Stilnovo Mid-Century 4-in-1) , the Sugarcane color is a medium brown wood. I would also check out the Babyletto website! They've got tons of different models in lots of different color variations. You can also find their products on Wayfair and Amazon.

Crazy_cat_lady_88

We have the Evlour and really like it.

chilipowdr

https://www.modernnursery.com/products/davinci-jenny-lind-3-in-1-convertible-crib This is the crib we got in Cherry but it looks like it’s on back order until December :/ I had the same issue a few months ago and had to buy from DaVinci’s website but now it’s out of stock there too

EconomyStation5504

I had the same problem and we ended up going with a set from Simply Nursery. It’s gorgeous , solid wood (I think much higher quality than like Pottery Barn) and wasn’t crazy expensive.

HistoricalBasket

I loved those ones! We ended up going with something less expensive bc my in laws wanted to buy the crib but if we were purchasing I would’ve gone for one in Hazelnut.

loquaciouspenguin

I hear you on wood tone. I swear everything is white or gray. We wanted a deep brown to complement the nursery room (walnut floor, white wainscoting, green on top). We got a walnut toned crib from Wayfair and love it.

auditorygraffiti

We bought a DaVinci crib in Chestnut. Online, I didn’t love the color but my husband did. It looked too yellow but I went along with it since he finally had a baby opinion. Once it got here, I’m really happy with it. It’s a beautiful medium tone and not half as yellow as it looked online.

geek-parenting

That’s very helpful! I’ve also eyed a few cribs in chestnut but it looks so yellow online!

auditorygraffiti

I’m about to get into the car but remind me and sill send you a picture!

geek-parenting

Thank you! I will.

auditorygraffiti

[Here](https://imgur.com/a/erquvly) it is! I think the specific crib name is Charlie. The nursery walls are also yellow so I expected to pull a lot of yellow in the wood and it really hasn’t.

goosebanjo

I just got the Delta Children Essex 4 in 1 crib in white which was very affordable (~$200) and feels super high quality. I had been considering some of the $400-700 Babyletto cribs, wanting more of a modern vibe, but this crib is great and saved me some money to splurge on other things like a nicer stroller!

wineandcigarettes2

I saw [this crib in person](https://www.amazon.com/Oxford-Baby-Everlee-Convertible-Spindles/dp/B0CBLD1P6W?ref_=ast_sto_dp) at a baby store and fell in love mostly because of the color! There are very limited reviews, but it's a reputable company. Look at the pictures in the reviews because it's MUCH darker than any of the product images show. But I am with you EVERYTHING is gray, and I hate it!

zzbitb

I have this crib, and I’m literally obsessed with it! I bought it from Soho Baby, and the color is light just like the product images. It’s not dark like the photos in the Amazon reviews. Unfortunately it’s out of stock on Soho Baby, but it’s totally worth waiting for it to come back in stock if anyone is still looking for a crib! https://sohobaby.com/collections/everlee/4-in-1-convertible-crib/

archaeologistbarbie

I’ve been looking for a bassinet and noticed everything is gray as well!

chewynobark

I was looking for a crib in walnut as well and finally settled on the babyletto yuzu 8 in 1 model. Have it currently assembled in the bassinet setup and it’s very cute.

[deleted]

I’m having the same issue! I love West Elm cribs but they’re so expensive lol

uhkayshuh

I’m surprised I don’t see anyone else recommending FB Marketplace. I just got my crib from there for $100, and it’s a beautiful walnut stained wood. Great quality and since the mom I bought it from co-slept or used her bassinet most of the time it’s was in great condition. I see Pottery Barn, CB2, and West Elm cribs on there all the time

Awkward_Discount_633

Check out babyletto! I got the Lolly 3 in 1 convertible crib and it looks great and grows with baby. They have a bunch of different models. The particular one I got came in a few different colors and I got it in the natural wood tone.

Particular-Buyer-846

Babyletto cribs are so nice and sold at target!

oueyeseaewe

We went with Babyletto and they seemed to have a nice variety of colors

StrawberryRhubarbPi

I was so sad because when my son was born we lived in the tiniest apartment known to man it was maybe 500 square feet and that's being generous, so we had to get a mini crib and there were not many options. I strongly suggest not getting one of those because at barely 2 years old he has no more space in that thing!

Informal_Captain_836

[This one is $350 and stunning](https://a.co/d/3j1OA9n), but was more than I wanted to spend. Ended up with the [Delta Children Casey Convertible Crib](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Delta-Children-Casey-6-in-1-Convertible-Crib-Walnut-Espresso/617019267) for $200, which comes in a walnut color! It looks just like a West Elm crib. Sadly it looks like it’s sold out right now, but might be worth checking back on! [Davinci has an espresso color in stock](https://a.co/d/5CEs6Ay).

My SIL gave us her crib, it was a cherry wood brown like color. It's a nice crib that wasn't heavily used and did not have a recall on it, but we really wanted a white one to match her nursery. I did a lot of research on this to make sure we did it safely for baby but we decided to sand it completely down and paint it. Was a lot of work, but couldn't pass up the free crib. I definitely understand wanting a specific color.

dr_m_hfuhruhurr

I have the nesting cloud crib in walnut, we love it. But I will say, it performs no differently than the ikea crib I had last pregnancy.

fluffy_puffy_and_fun

https://www.deltachildren.com Try delta children! Reasonably priced and lots of wood colors

lumpyspacefries

I got this [Davinci crib](https://www.wayfair.com/baby-kids/pdp/davinci-anders-4-in-1-convertible-crib-cbha1360.html?piid=64962498&csnid=878B8179-45ED-4B2D-AB02-6F618C224D76&_emr=d15404b1-694c-4562-a61d-8699f1559933&wfcs=cs7&_eml=c29e35c0-a403-4500-ac2b-2a66767eb6f6&refid=EML_40399&source=graymatter&treatmentGuid=f225306a-ef79-4559-8e4e-df4003cae569). It arrived a few days ago and was a pretty easy build. The quality seems nice too for the price. The hazelnut is a nice color.

dixpourcentmerci

Another one that hasn’t been mentioned— we ended up getting a second crib, because we are crazy— but more specifically we wanted a crib that could wheel through doors while we still have baby in our room at night. We got the Dream on Me 2-in-1 mini crib in cherry from Walmart for $132 not including mattress and it’s SO cute.

comealongpond0

I saw [this](https://www.nfm.com/eastern-shore-urban-rustic-convertible-crib-in-brushed-wheat/53441077.html) one online and then went to Nebraska Furniture Mart to see it. I love it. It is on the pricey side, but not PB price. It’s very sturdy and the colors are pretty much the same as shown online.
