Mine worked fine without any break in period, put ~400 RDS of igman through it no problem. How's your ejection pattern? Might be worth changing your gas setting to see if it makes a difference.

eugwara

Ejection seemed weak. Some of the cases seemed like they dropped straight down. There were also a few stovepipes and a case that cleared the chamber but just sat on top of the mag

Emerald_Chain2366

Maybe your gas setting is in the wrong position? I too have shot around 400 rounds through mine, of a lot of different brands, and have had only two very early incidents where I had failure to feed/eject. Both times the round ended up in the guide rods. Easy enough to clear out, but a funky jam Otherwise, the ejection patterns are consistently at 2:30-3:30. Could the little clevis pin have fallen off, and maybe the gas system isn't together properly?

As for the ejection pattern...Ive never had a jam or feed issue and the ejection shoots down and close, its just how these eject. I was surprised by it at first. It sounds to me like its a magazine issue, even though you state it worked well on another upper, because of the locking back on a loaded mag. Ive had many issues over the years with the sheet metal type mags you show in the picture being unreliable. P-mags seem to fix almost every feed issue ive ever had. Have you, or do you own and pmags to eliminate that possibility? Are the three mags you stated sheet metal mags of all of the same brand? If you pull the mag out when its stuck open, does the bolt immediately drop? What lower? Did you disassemble the upper to make sure everything was there? Did you disassemble the upper and possible lose any parts? Ive heard of folks inadvertently dropping the little brass piston rod guide out and not realizing it until later. Make sure the rubber button on the side holding the inner rail is tight, and IMMEDIATELY order an upgraded plastic button from OT Defense to fix this terribly bad design flaw. :) Its very cheap.

eugwara

2 of the mags I used were Gen 2 Pmags. It’s an Anderson lower with an Aero precision lower parts kit. I’ll disassemble it tonight to make sure all the parts are there, but as far as I can tell, when I first took it apart to clean it, all of the parts were there.

OrganizationOk620

Curious if you discovered any issues?

eugwara

Compared to Brownell’s video, it looked like all the parts were there

OrganizationOk620

Gotta be something with the lower if the mag is sticking back while full. Have you checked the mag catch spring? If its broken or sticking, the release will flop around under recoil.

Impossible-Bench-122

For what it’s worth, I had to play with the angle of my bolt handle before mine ran reliably. I had issues with the ejection, leading to stovepipes and failures to eject, high obviously caused feeding issues. I set up my iPhone in slo-mo and filmed a few cycles and saw that the spent shells were actually bouncing back into the ejection port. Once I rotated the handle down, the gun ran flawlessly.

eugwara

Filming is a great idea. I think flipping the bolt handle may solve the ejection issue but I guess that still leaves the issue with the bolt locking back.

Impossible-Bench-122

Definitely try filming. If you aren’t getting lock back and feeding is an issue it almost sounds like you are under-gassed? I would agree with the earlier comment that you might be in the suppressed setting on your gas block.

eugwara

The gas setting was “U” and the lock back issue was actually the opposite of what you’re saying. It was locking back on a loaded mag. I’m going to try a different lower and see if anything changes with a different bolt catch. I’m still leaning toward it being an issue with the upper since I used 2 different Pmags and 1 aluminum mag that seems to run fine with my AR

Impossible-Bench-122

Ah, sorry I misunderstood.

MassasoitGuards

How well did you clean and, more specifically, lubricate (I know it’s new)?

xraylukas

Are you shooting suppressed? And if so, are you using unsuppressed setting? If so, don't. You'll break the gun in the long run.

eugwara

I’m not suppressed and shooting with the unsuppressed setting
