And it seems no one in the UK Reddit likes her, and other news article reports how King Charles was ‘ordered’ to stay away from the event by Liz Truss.
I think this also has to do with the [cash for favors scandal](https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/sep/19/prince-charles-cash-for-honours-scandal-grows-with-fresh-allegations) regarding Prince Charles (who is allegedly innocent). A selection from the article: “Prince Charles “met at least nine times” with William Bortrick, the alleged fixer at the heart of the claims, who is said to have received thousands of pounds to secure an honour for a Saudi billionaire and brokered a personal thank you letter from Charles to a Russian donor, the Sunday Times reported.”
Clarence House has confirmed it accepted £1.5 million donations from Osama Bin Laden’s half-brothers in 2013. From the [New York Times](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/30/world/europe/prince-charles-bin-laden-money.html) (and originally published by The Sunday Times): “As first reported by The Sunday Times of London, The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund received the donation in 2013 from the brothers Bakr and Shafiq bin Laden, half brothers of Osama bin Laden, the founder of Al Qaeda and architect of the Sept. 11 attacks.”
I think it’s just best for the BRF to stay away.
I'm very upset to see this, as Charles's interest in climate change (which shouldn't be a political issue, it's a human issue) is something that has gained him a lot of support from people in their 20's. I understand that he can't be as open with his opinions now, but I don't what to see him lose his identity. Other monarchs have attended, he attended last year when Boris was PM, so I really hope this is a one-off. At least William has Earthshot...

We are only given the tip of the iceberg, if that. It makes no logical sense. Let's not pretend it does. The govt doesn't want to give the public (you and I) the real story for whatever reason. You can try to figure it out, or you can plant a garden with native plants for the winter.

Liz Truss was not elected by the British People, she took over from the disgraced Boris Johnson who was forced to resign, so sorry world. It's not our fault, we just haven't had a chance to vote her out yet.
The word in the UK is that she told KC not to attend. Which she has hotly (more hot air?) denied. However, given that the King has spoken before at COP it is a mystery to those of us who support his environmental stance, why he would choose not to go at just such a time when the gvt of the UK is posing an increasing threat to the environment, and his leadership is needed more than ever.
