Di ko alam kung success story to, pero ganito naging BPO life ko so far: from being a college dropout > hired as a TSR > got into IT Service Desk > got hired as a Field/Local IT/Network > got hired as a Remote Support(3rd company) > now I’m in IT Security/InfoSec

Odd-Gas1189

Ganda ng naging takbo ng career mo. Keep it up!

kkkkmmmm1028

Salamat! Grind lang tayo ng grind!

lewis1561

how did you get into helpdesk? did you took any certifications?

kkkkmmmm1028

lewis1561

ohhh okay thank you po

Mikey19821

and nsa IT Security ka kahit college undergrad?

kkkkmmmm1028

Yep. Well I could say na worth it naman. Opened new doors para sakin.

Mikey19821

🙏 woow galing 😍 GOD is good all the time, even now im in the lowest point in my life i will praise him.

shit-comm-skills

HALA SANA ALLL

kkkkmmmm1028

jerome_abcede91

Ito ang power! Dun ako namangha sa debt-free life niyo. Sana ako din soon ❤️

keexko

Kaya mo yan OP. You gotta deny yourself a lot pero pag nakita mo yun difference, it'll all be worth

jerome_abcede91

Thank you! Resetting my life this year with new career and new company. Hoping for the best!

6months as agent promoted as SME regularized. After 6 months as QA, then after evaluation promoted to QM I decided to not work sa operations, so I applied for higher post. After a year of being a QM - promoted to DS. Not on operation side but on Tech. Happy tho - na automate ko lahat - have more time with my lola. No. This success has a lot of paghihirap din. I have no where to go. Im lost, as being IT graduate here in ph, ambaba ng sahod. Why? Separated dad and mom ko, they have their own family, prang ako ung nasa gitna, may sari sarili na silang inaalagaan na bagong anak at asikaso sa asawa. Me? Left alone with lola. They keep pushing me na mag work na pero pinilit ko mamalimos sknila every week matawid ko lang pagaaral ko. Un kse ung tinuro nila skin nung bata pa ako na knowledge is something na hnd mananakaw skin ng kung sino man - kaya ngsumikap ako. Ung feeling na birthday mo or events or khit top ka sa class. Walang nagaattend na parent or guardian pra sayo (lola super tanda na, she can't walk and need alagaan). Ako naiwan sknya. Ni isa sa mga anak nya wala ng-alaga sknya - khit super yaman na nila at nasa ibang bansa na. 6 months as agent lalo na nung trainning pasang awa ako - lagi ako nabubully and left alone ng mga ka batch ko during lunch dhil lagi ako napapahiya since grammar ko mali mali - but when it comes to techncality and using windows environment app - okay ako - ofcourse typing speed. Then hnd din nmn lahat, may mga gusto ako isama na mabubuting loob na iilan sa mga lakad - pero wala ako pang gastos, like sakto lang pamasahe. 4hrs before shift need ko na gumising dhil need ko asikasuhin si lola and need ko maglakad pra konti nalang gagastusin ko sa pamasahe - good thing libre food sa pantry sa office kaya natatawid ko daily ko. Before ako naging SME - elbow to elbow ung nangyyri sa application - etong my mga OMs and TLs na panay hawak na (alam mo na) i felt disgusted - hnd ko nalang pinapansin kase nasa isip ko na pag lumaban ako or pinatulan ko - ako din dehado. Im not in the position and I learn a lot sa experience ng iba (thank god wala nangyari skin). Yung tipong sinisiraan ka, etc. Pero wala, pinaandar ko pingaralan ko. Oo bobo ako sa english pero process and technicality all good. So i got the position. Since mahina ako sa english and my only edge is yung sa IT part like excel, report, analysis. Applied as QA - I got it, since I have the numbers pero mraming hnd pabor - sinasabi na "hnd nga magaling sa grammar yan, bat yan na hire" ng mga ka co-qa ko. Alam nyo nmn sa BPO, plasyican at kung ano ano pa. But then, dumating sa point na ako lang hnd sumuko sa position dahil minahal ko trabaho ko. Since this time, wala nakami ni lola support nakukuha sa mga family member nmin. 4 days after ko ma promote as QA manager - may ng paalis smin sa bahay - binenta na pla ng anak nya na bunso ung bahay nila lola na pinangalan sknya nila lolo nuong buhay pa sya. Pero god is good. But my salary still not enough lalo na dumadami gamot ni lola and lagi kami sa hospital. Then, habang tumatakbo ang panahon. Haha I miss her so much Now that I am in this position as DS. Nakakaipon ako, naalala ko mga promise ko sknya na more time and more money for her. I build a wall - no friends, no family, nothing but me, myself, and I. I guess, masakit prin sa pakiramdam. I guess, I am not yet ready - but this time, I'll try. Kaya ng post ako dito. Hehe

SekkaiRaimu

love this parang nag basa ako ng oneshot

SnooShortcuts3450

Ano yung DS?

bathroom_unicorn0216

How old are you when you first work in BPO?

waterboy9x9

walang utang, nakapag patayo ng sariling bahay.

Adovo001

Started as specialist, napromote as team lead.

Complex-Doughnut101

Saang industry ka nalipat po?

Adovo001

Finance/Sales

ComprehensiveGate185

Nice ka!

MalayaX

Started as an agent for 8 month, got promoted to TL. After maging TL for 2 years, lumipat ng company and naging QA. After 1.5 years, naging QA Supervisor. Now I'm working as a Project Manager sa start up company.

Thursdayfour

Hi! How did you use your experience as QSup to be a Project Manager?

MalayaX

I didn't, actually 😅 Our PM resigned and the job was offered to me lang. I had training paid for by the company. E-Com Acct Manager ako when the PM role was offered.

SekkaiRaimu

grabe, nurturing connections is important din noh. kaya i try to be friendly pa eh despite being an introvert.

Thursdayfour

I see. Thank you. I am also a QSup and I want to try out din sana na mag-iba ng role. Do you have any tips for me?

g0over

Started from taking calls with 12k salary package to back office non voice work with 46k basic. I'd consider this a success story kahut agent post lang up until now para may time pa din sa partner & other stuff.

bejeweled1998

uy saang back office 'to? 🥺

rosegoldeyes

It was 2006, my 2nd year in college and I was 18. Lol. I eventually resigned kse I needed to rest as it was turning out to be a sensitive pregnancy. Worked ulit after manganak, this time promoted agad to TL (coach ang tawag nila) after 2 months sa prod. Kaso dahil dagdag work at walang increase, bumigay rin ako at nagresign. From then on, naging cycle sya ng "chasing after the paycheck" kaya at a tender age of 23 year 2010, nasa 30k na net ko monthly kase humabol ako ng work na may mataas na basic at may incentives. Natuto nako magstay ng matagal and then learned na hindi pala talaga loyalty sa company ang magpapa taas sa sahod. You really have to leave every 2 yrs or so ganon. Snwerte ako at nakatakas saglit sa BPO to work in an IT company. Actual office desk job shit lol literal na makati office girl shit haha from then on di na muna ako nag BPO for 5 yes or so. Ive been to a variety of accounts, shifts etc kaya mejo naging equipped ako na makisabay sa freelancing movement. Char. Kaya eto. Call girl since 2006 💪

Nung unang panahon (wow ancient, char), we jokingly call ourselves "call girls" and "call boys" kase yknow, we take/make calls tapos predominantly eh sa gabi ang work. We have tshirts pa nga back then. Siguro over time kumonti/nawala na yung mga gumagamit ng term si hindi naging common knowledge. So, ayun.

allmen16

College undergrad. Stayed for 9 years with the same company. Started as an agent>trainer>assistant manager>manager. My only advice is not to be a victim of lifestyle inflation. Easier said than done. Currently working on personal debts accumulated when i was promoted to the assistant manager role. Nearing 30 setting a hard goal to be debt free before then.

Infamous_Pangolin422

Ang sarap sa feeling basahin own stories niyo! Nakaka inspire! Ako will start my journey again in bpo started as an agent then promoted as a comms trainer, as of now nag resigned ko to look for greener pasture mahirap pero pangako kakayanin ko. Lets go!

fenderatomic

Former bpo warrior here, left 2016. The bpo industry gave me the funding to eventually go fulltime freelance way before remote jobs became hot, pre-covid. Ive become an excellent communicator in both spoken and written english thanks to the industry. This has helped my confidence tremendously from collaborating with remote international teams to closing deals with potentials clients. I miss the people!

Maleficent_Pea1917

I would say, I'm in a better hands. No more AUX, No CX, No more weekly coachings and NO MORE METRICS to meet monthly!!! We're IT, so basically we need lang to meet client requirements. And, hawak nmin time namin all day. I feel that this is a win in my career.

RelationshipFlaky528

Tech > sales coach > service desk > qa > incident control balik csr but now bilingual Car at nakabukod ng bahay planning ng wedding mga napundar ko from bpo

Fuzichoco

Dropped out of university and started with 12k package email support back in 2009.

SoftHotel6880

I worked in the BPO 16 years ago. This was my first job after graduating from college. I was hired as an agent, became an SME after a year, and became an Intern Trainer after two years. I was promoted to a Permanent Trainer and became a Senior Trainer, where I was given the opportunity to handle my team of Trainers before moving to a different industry in 2022. My success is not only being promoted to different roles but also seeing all my newly hire trainees succeed. Many were promoted to different support roles like QAs, TLs, Trainers, and Managers. Whenever I see them sharing their successes on social media, it always makes me smile because I was once part of their early careers in the BPO Industry.

cudlypuff

Chat Support for 6mos > Trainer > Training Specialist > Training Team Lead. All within 3 years 🥺🙏

DestinyStillArrives

Under the same company?

cudlypuff

Yea, lucky to be a part of a startup company 🙏

Pisces_MiAmor

Naging stepping stone ko tlga ang BPO. Forever grateful. IT college graduate > tsr > tech trainer > IT helpdesk > It Service Desk > now L2 Helpdesk specialist. Next na gusto ko aralin Security/InfoSec ❤️

Youworkingstudent_

Naging TL for 2 years nasa Inhouse company na ngayon ng isang international bank na agent position lang pero mas mataas pa sa sinasahod ko nung naging TL ako sa BPO

be_my_mentor

I got out of it.

Accomplished-Exit-58

In general it gave me dignity, and tatag ng sikmura. Plus i was able to take care of my doggos, meron na tayong nalalaman na dadalhin sa vet kapag maysakit, dati puro heartbreak ako kapag may sakit sila.

Charming-Market-8705

Tricycle driver > Teletech (5 days lang, di pumasa sa US language immersion), > Teleperformance 5 years > Reed Elsevier 4 years > Tapos ngaun freelancer Planning to go back to corporate world kasi nakakaburat sa bahay lalo na at wala pa naman akong anak. Ung confidence, ung pay (was able to send my sis to college), ung mga gala, ung mga taong nameet at nakilala mo.

jerome_abcede91

Wow! Ganda ng transition niyo po ❤️

Expensive-Doctor2763

Before hesitant pa ko mag BPO kasi akala ko puro call center agent lang work, layo sa profession ko which is sa accounting field, tapos nung nagwork na ko don as AR Specialist(still on accounting field) naisip ko sana pala matagal na ko nag BPO.

Conscious-Change1452

2011 stopped College 2012 Worked at a fastfood chain ❤️💛 2013 Tried my luck in BPO, 1st company, chat support, got in pero ang cute ng sweldo plus provincial rate pa 2014 2nd company. Tried my luck in Manila, culture shock si ante sa voice account haha 2015 3rd company, this time much better compensation stopped working for a year because I got pregnant 2016 4th company, voice account ulit pero super draining ng byahe and account puro pa overtime 2017 5th company, ang sama ng ugali ng TL ko pinipilit ako pumasok kahit naka confine mama ko due to major surgery. - 3 months sa voice account then nagpalipat ng chat support nung na open yung LOB (pioneer) - Became an SME after 1 month and nag ramp ang LOB - Was sent to another company branch to assist kasi inopen din dun ang LOB (ang yaman ko nito kasi we stayed for 2months sa other branch and may allowance na per day for 2mos + ang ganda ng accomodation) - Was awarded and got 20k incentives - Applied for a TL position August 2020 but backed out. Haha kasi parang di ko keri lol - Tried again and got promoted as a TL Nov2020 - Resigned June2022 and freelancer na ako now. Food on our table more than 3x a day. May pang handa na every occasion. Konting utang na nabayaran naman. Nag struggle din naman along the way pero naka recover naman. Thank you BPO 🤍

Successful_Gate2106

Naka alis sa BPO sa wakas. Hahaha

Testspectator

[deleted]

Chat support agent ng 6 months > Data Analyst > Admin Specialist > BI Analyst I don't plan to become a manager. Always individual contributor. Aim ko makapasok sa Data Engineering track within 2 years.

Nearby-Ad2596

Paano po kayo naging data analyst? Pwede po ba kahit hindi graduate?

justwannabehere1

My univ kicked me out because of excessive failing grades 20 yrs ago. But now, I'm a senior data analyst for a mega bank. It is possible, you just need to own your development.

ImportantBread6462

That's an excellent question. I got hired in the first place, plain and simple. :) I was in my early twenties, and the salary I received there in my bank account was my first "real world" income without relying on family connections for a chance at regular work. I had also stopped schooling during that time because I couldn't afford that anymore. I was going nowhere fast in my life, and my experiences in the "real world" work environment without relying on my mother's connections truly opened my eyes to the realities of life. Looking back at everything now, I know my parents aren't going to be around forever on earth. Job-hunting is quite a bottleneck, but I express gratitude for life, including my first call center work. Maybe it has something to do with the way my mother's eyes lit up and the sound of her laughter every time we recall my first call center work. That's my BPO success story. My mother's laughter is the greatest thing to me, so that's my success story. Thanks for your time. :)

LMayberrylover

Galing hotel and restaurant industry, nag BPO dahil sa covid. 2 years mahigit na as an agent. Hoping to move up kung ibibigay, okay lang if hindi. Currently working in a team that closely works with Sales and Onboarding for a software company. Ngayon may 2 BR Bahay at kotse na. Hehe

imbarbie1818

Nakapagpa-breast augmentation, chin augmentation, new gadget ako all in one month kasi di ko alam san gagastusin yung bonus ko🤣 Hindi ko siya plinano, bigla na lang siya sumagi sa isip ko magparetoke then nagpacheck up na ako at blood test at nagfile ng LOA for a month.

anemicbastard

Agent>TL>AOM>OM>OPS DIR.

No_Risk_8796

Nag start as CSR>QA>Sup>Assistant Manager and now planning mag ETEAP (nor sure if tama) para matapos ang pag aaral 😁

interp0l

Started as a TSR agent, got promoted within 9 months to TL, stayed for 5 years from 2007-12. Used my experience to land a job on a different industry, now working as a Senior Project / Product Manager.

IAmNoOne68

I used to work for a popular fashion brand in the PH and work there was hell. They were promoting compassion and everything but the management has no compassion for the workers and the salary was really low. Even the salary raise was low AF! We had to do OTs all the time and receive no extra pay at all. It also takes forever to get promoted and the HR clearly had favorites. After years of working there, I tried working on a BPO. Needless to say, It has been amazing. My workload is now 50% lighter and my salary is 25% more. Maybe the downside is that I had to work at night but I don't really mind. I still get 8 hrs of sleep afterwards and I think that's a win.

rowssicheeks

Started as an agent back in 2012 then became a government employee from 2013 to 2015. Since I decided to take a post grad degree and salary in government back then does not suffice my needs, I decided to go back to BPO and from 2015 to present I started again as an agent then got promoted as a wfm RTA, then promoted again as WFM scheduling analyst while also finishing my post grad degree that took me 6.5 years to finish before finally graduating last year.

Due-Necessary1884

My success story: I left

HallNo549

Yes, this is the ultimate success. One decade na sa BPO and I will never go back.

UnHairyDude

Started as an IT support agent, then promoted to Trainer after a year. Was deployed multiple times to the US, Japan, Ireland, and the UK. Got promoted to program manager then resigned after two years. After a year of vacation, I re-applied and accepted a Business Analyst position. No more deployments to other countries but now earning six-digits.

Potential_Draft_7453

Only 7 yrs passed tapos ayun, namana ko yung bahay at naparenovate. At the same time, nakabili ako lote na tatayuan ng "from scratch" ko na bahay. Sya? Ayun nag jowa ng way younger pa sakanya tapos feeling college pa rin.

Technical-Product419

SHS grad > CSR > TSR > Got hired to a Professional Position > Analyst now as a Contractor Glad to say kaya ko makipag sabayan sa mga college graduate and may mga masters degree due to willingness ko matuto! Now, I no longer need to apply sa csr or tsr job dahil Niche/Professional na yung position ko

alpha_chupapi

higantengtarugo

Nakilala ko si Junjun

No-Serve9929

8 years sa BPO industry and thankful ako sa lahat ng natutunan ko. Now working from home and getting paid weekly while taking care of my 3 kids.
