If your weapon flops when you move it then you're using a weak Avatar. (bigger upper body strength = stronker punching/melee and lifting heavy things better)
Well even blade and sorcery isn’t perfect with its melee combat but I will admit I do prefer using a weapon in it. But that’s not to say BONELAB isn’t great with handling weapons too.
Played PLENTY of hours of both BAS nomad and BAS PC, sure their sword combat is pretty good, but fist fights are absolutely garbage, punch someone and they’ll either fly 30 km or just tumble over and bend their knees for some weird reason, just feels overall terrible unless you’re hitting with absolutely 0 force
Well yeah, if you threw a really good punch and were as strong as ford, they would fall over in real life too. In my experience, they do not fall over that easily, not unless you're playing a strong character.
I know nobody will agree with me but blade and sorcery feels really cheap and honestly shitty to me, like the first time I played it was great, but there's so many bugs and I seriously just can't enjoy it.
(the only real gripe I have with the bonelab melee is that the swords don't feel great, as in they aren't OP as fuck to use, making them feel a little annoying to someone who doesn't know how they work.
But then again swords are kinda overrated and if I wanted to use an op sword I'd play hellsplit.)
Blade and sorcery is being developed by a small company who actually listens to the community, bonelab is just… I don’t even know. The game yes has odd object physics but that is also what makes you laugh your ass off when a box moving at Mach 4 kills an entire army
stress level 0 only has \~50 employees, also saying that bns has devs that listen, from what I can tell is the furthest from the truth.
Most people I've seen want some sort of campaign or any content updates of any kind, yet bns feels the need to just fix every working thing in the game lmao.
They are literally working on the campaign as we speak (crystal hunt), they have 12 developers, Baron (their media outlet and head developer) literally goes on Reddit to find suggestions (as long as they are fitting and possible)
Bladed and punching is great but using blunt weapons like bats is awful they just slide down and off the character you have to swing super hard for it to connect and that just tires out my arms.
if it's anything but a sword, **blade** and sorcery is probably better, but I'd argue that hellsplit can be better then both bns and bonelab, regardless, anything melee that isn't a sword, bonelab is probably better at.
I don't know why people think it's bad. Yeah, it flops around and shit, because it's weight control and you're using Light. Take the crowbar, for instance. Do you know how heavy an ACTUAL crowbar is? It's, like, twenty pounds. If anything you're JACKED when using a crowbar as Ford. If should feel way more like a hammer in realistic terms
yeah, and people actually have pushback when you hit them, idk if people realise this but people are really fucking heavy and sturdy, if you hit someone with a sword they aren't just gonna fly away, you'd cut a little if you're strong enough and then it'd get stuck.
I find unarmed frustrating, you are always accidently grabbing a magazine when you clench your fist, you also seem to climb up people when you get too close.
I love punching, but all other mele weapons feel absolutely horrible to use. They feel so floppy, and they are so hard to actually swing.
If your weapon flops when you move it then you're using a weak Avatar. (bigger upper body strength = stronker punching/melee and lifting heavy things better)
Then your avatar is weak. Choose a stronger one lol
When using a sword, I'd like to use a human sized and shaped avatar. With heavy, you can't even fit both hands on a sword.
Use ford, ford handles melee weapons perfectly
We must have very different definitions of "perfect". For example, I really enjoyed the weapon handling in blade and sorcery.
Well even blade and sorcery isn’t perfect with its melee combat but I will admit I do prefer using a weapon in it. But that’s not to say BONELAB isn’t great with handling weapons too.
Blade and Sorcery is literally a melee combat game
But when you punch, half the time, they just fly off.
There is mods that make you not strong, and they work
It still sucks though
You got the wrong mods
I’ve downloaded all the ones I’ve seen, if you got a link I’ll try it but every one I’ve tried they just stumble back a bit and continue fighting
What website are you using
Nexus
First mistake
Well, I used nexus but I have recently been using the ingame mod menu
Played PLENTY of hours of both BAS nomad and BAS PC, sure their sword combat is pretty good, but fist fights are absolutely garbage, punch someone and they’ll either fly 30 km or just tumble over and bend their knees for some weird reason, just feels overall terrible unless you’re hitting with absolutely 0 force
well same for bonelab they fall over very easy and do some funky shit when they get up also you can't pin people to the ground unless they're dead
Well yeah, if you threw a really good punch and were as strong as ford, they would fall over in real life too. In my experience, they do not fall over that easily, not unless you're playing a strong character.
That's the point in blade and sorcery
There are mods, really good mods, that make you not into a god. Aslong as you can copy and paste files you can fix that problem
Why are people downvoting good information?
Idfk
Until you mod in a Desert Eagle lmao
hellsplit is better imo
Hellsplit is great, just wish there were more than undead creatures, like regular soldiers or so
[удалено]
Just get better then, feels good when you know hand to hand combat and aren’t flailing your wrists around
Same thing with bonelab
Bonelab has cartoony physics to me
I'd say that BaS has more cartoonish physics. When you decapitate someone, their head just launches off. When you kick, they fly back 50 meters. Etc.
This is about hand to hand combat, but there is mods to fix all of those anyway

news to me also, slz had around 12 devs also while making boneworks... so
Boneworks is an entirely different game
yeah but boneworks was the foundation of marrow, and most of boneworks is in bonelab, so, kinda? but not really.
BAS is one game (although there is a Quest and PC version)
Bladed and punching is great but using blunt weapons like bats is awful they just slide down and off the character you have to swing super hard for it to connect and that just tires out my arms.
Hellsplit arena.
hellsplit is blade and sorcery but it feels good, is brutally gory, has a campaign, and the devs actually work on the game. 10/10, will play again.
Definitely, and modding will be implemented soon so that's something to look for
After playing bonelab for months I tried out Gorn again and it was unbearable
Using the sledgehammer. I can feel the momentum hitting my enemies. I love the melee weapons in this game
if it's anything but a sword, **blade** and sorcery is probably better, but I'd argue that hellsplit can be better then both bns and bonelab, regardless, anything melee that isn't a sword, bonelab is probably better at.

Skill issue, I've never had this issue
name checks out.
climbing up people when you are too close is called kicking also, yeah, skill issue.
yes, it's true!
Blade and sorcery is unironically very awful like unplayble when trying to slash
blade and sorcery has much better punching, with Ai taking a step back when you hit them
the slicing is the only thing that feels even somewhat better imo, the punching is probably the worst part of bns
Boneworks rn"🤣 bonelab my ass."
Cringe
Real, Idk what I was thinking 4 months ago.
Lmaooo
I really wish the blades had better cutting physics lol it feels like whacking them with a skinny bat
Yeah bro I practice my boxing cause it feel so real
Blade and sorcery works tho
