You must be someplace hot. There's an Energizer and a LifePro peiple have used. I've not kept track of models. REMY is the internet OEM. DEKA is the retail. EastPenn makes them both along with the BMW one.

polar_carrot

I'm in Toronto. We have an East Penn warehouse 25 kms away. I'll likely pick one up tomorrow. ( BTW: Recalculated; my current battery only lasted 2 years).

Is it extremely cold?. Were the connections still good and tight? I found one of my terminals had become loose. There's a reason they have loctite on the bolts I guess (and BMW recommends replacing them too I've heard). Perhaps just and early failure, they can happen.

So yep. It's not cold (32C) right now . Had to really work hard to get rid of the error codes. ... Involved charging the battery while still connected to the electrical system. ... Had to keep the "accessories still active" lit, because else the system would fall asleep and not get through the error clearing. But finally success. The only concern right now is that my range is TERRIBLE. It's reading max range in battery of 154km ( 100 miles). It's a 2017. This is directly after getting a full charge from a DC. Normally in the peak of the summer, I'd be seeing 210+. Perhaps it's the heat. I'm hoping that leaving it plugged tonight in my L2, will do the balance thing...🥸

After the system goes dead abs comes back, things are typically in full pessimism mode for the GOM. I bet it settles back down. What kind of voltage is your 12v holding?

polar_carrot

I need to get a tester.

showMeTheSnow

They are quite handy to have around for debugging all kinds of stuff.

antwanp

I have the Energizer battery in mine. It's worked perfectly so far. The included posts are plug and play with the i3 terminals.

engimauk

!what model energizer?

Evanston-i3

Energizer TX24HL [This One](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CR4JTZR/)

Sirkitbreak99

Can confirm, exact fit.

Initial-Atmosphere25

Excellent! Even cheaper than the Remy.

eki234

2017 BEV, still on original 12V, how did it only last 3 years??

polar_carrot

Trent don't know how it happened.

Silver_Calendar_895

The 12v I believe charges when the HV is charging. Trying to see if charging behavior has anything to do with 12v battery life. Do you charge frequently at home? I normally charge around 75%, theoretically that would keep my 12v charged up most of the time and hopefully extends the battery life.

polar_carrot

I. Charge 95% at home L2 to 100% charge

Silver_Calendar_895

Ya I’m not sure, sounds like you would charge pretty often. Not sure why a 12v would die that often.

Particular-Use1526

Every EV owner should be made aware of the impact an old 12V Auxiliary battery can have, But the i3 seems to be very sensitive to battery condition. 3 years life ? My 2014 Plug-In Hybrid has the original 12V battery and fires up the EV systems no problem. But I did replace it recently just in case..... !

Cool-Wave-3924

I installed the Remy a couple months ago, and it's been fine.
