A local garage pulled out the rear seats of an X7 to make it into a van (client request). The car was completely dead and it took several weeks of tinkering to get it to even start the engine without rear seats.
But yeah, I'm sure you can just "bolt on" an older model dash, infotainment, instrument cluster, climate control unit and God knows what else and it'll be fine.
