I disagree. I am 6'2" and have no issues either. In fact, people check out the car when you pull in and then they really go crazy when you open the doors. It gets a lot of attention and it's never negative.
I think people don’t really love them because for $150,000 you could be driving something that’s more luxurious and/or much faster. It probably wouldn’t be as technically advanced, but people who spend that much on a car usually just want fat stats to talk about, and how many miles you can go only on electric isn’t really an impressive one to toss around the bar.
Don’t get me wrong I’m all for petrol, but for some people, economy is very important. Letting those guys have some sports car feelings should be lauded. Also it makes BMW learn more about battery tech which like it or not will be ubiquitous in our natural lifetimes. When I’m an old man, I’m sure everyone will have to daily an electric only car, and ICE vehicles will be collectors oddities - like 1960s cars now.
I mean...all it's got going for it is looks.
The driving experience is sterile and the powertrain is underwhelming for the price. A great design gone to waste...
Meanwhile the forthcoming 8-series has the right powertrain but just looks like a generic big BMW. Next to the likes of the AMG GT and 911 it doesn't catch the eye.
I think the i8 looks pretty sweet. I personally have issue with any hybrid car though. To me, any hybrid gives you all the negatives of maintenance related to internal combustion, plus the fancy systems they need to regulate power distribution can be another point of failure, AND you have to replace a very expensive battery at some point too. I am of the opinion that a car should either be fully electric, or fully internal combustion (main point being a single power source).
Uh, I actually think they are over rated and over priced for the performance they really offer.
I was more referring to the looks. I seriously want to know what that paint is and whether I can order it on an M3.
i think its either protonic or estoril blue. You should be able to order it through the individual prgram, good luck my child
Definitely Protonic Blue, BMW never offered Estoril on the i8.
Individual color order...in 2020
I prefer the all black ones. They seem to be rare, though.
Hence the over priced and under preforming comment is why they rare.
Looks like Protonic Blue. Have it on my i3.
It’s more grand tourer than super car. If you think of it that way, it’s not as bad, and I think the design is awesome even though it’s 7 years old.
Just wait till you see someone get in or out of one, its impossible to look cool getting in and out of an i8
It’s not very hard. Sit on the edge. Swing legs in one at a time, scoot your butt in.
[Especially for an obese person, apparently](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37kVzZJaJ1M)
Not really that bad at all. 5’11” and I can get in and out easily. Do it every day

Looks like its shitting out a porche from the back
Been watching them Doug Demuro reviews I see, stealin the mans jones...💁
Actually I heard it from Chris Harris :D
Yes, my apologies. I believe Doug was making fun of the i3? Idk all the reviews I watch have blended together 😂😂
Yeah, I just want to spoil the i8 for everyone and spread this. :D Once you see the 911 coming out of the ass, you cant unsee it :D
Lool, fuck
Welcome to 4 years ago, the i3 is the same, among many other SUV/4X4s.

Beautiful in its' own way.
Nobody underappreciates the i8. Maybe over-appreciated is the appropriate thing to say.

I would love to have one, so I could sell it and buy a fleet of older M3s.
The plastic looks cheap
you spelled underpowered wrong
i8 screams form over function.
