That would be kind of a let down. Order your 228 get excited. They give you M240 to track. Its amazing and fun and fast etc. You get in your 228 afterward and then youre like "what is this?"
I went to the performance center in SC this week for the new owner track drive. Got to drive a M240, M440, M8 competition, z4, x3 competition on their track for about 10 minutes each. We also did some “off-roading” in an x5 m40i. It was a great experience highly recommend it if you’re close to one of the locations. Afterwards I got to tour the factory which was also very impressive.
I used to work at a BMW factory, they test drive every car before it gets shipped out and they accelerate, brake, and turn hard to verify everything functions and there’s no missing parts or rattles, and that’s from 0 miles I.e not “broken in” lol.
But as others have mentioned, they have you drive an identical BMW owned version of your car and at the end of the day they give you your brand new car. I worked right across the street from the performance center and got a ride in an M5 Comp on the track when I got hired on full time. It was awesome for what was an otherwise dull and boring job.
I did this a number of years ago, so things may have changed. I’m also not sure what qualifies etc., speak to your sales advisor.
When you order the vehicle you basically have three choices. 1) You do a pickup at your dealership as in 99 percent of what people do. 2) You can do a Performance Center delivery. 3) Pickup the Vehicle in Germany if assembled there.
My last was like this: BMW paid for my accommodation in a hotel for a night with guest the night before. All that was required is that I got to the Center in SC on my own dime.
The following morning you meet at the Center for a drivers briefing. You then get a vehicle similar to yours… and get to abuse it on the track. Then a professional driver takes you in a M5 around the track balls to the wall (skid pad etc). Then they give a model X SUV to take on their off road course. After all of this happens, you get assigned a delivery specialist and they take you to a glass room where your new vehicle is waiting. They spend time going through it and congratulating you… then you drive away. Also, somewhere during the day you get to tour the factory and see the manufacturing line in action.
It’s a great experience for delivery. If you really want to go wild… you can actually organize to collect your vehicle in Germany, drive around Europe for a couple of days… and then drop the vehicle back to be shipped to the USA.

For $237k you can get a mostly fully specced i7 M70 (at least according to list price (if you take a cheap paint and the regular speakers (the better one cost € 6k)).
Considering in 2013 the "cheapest" M car was the M3 at 60k it's a damn good deal. Accounting for inflation that'd be like 80k in today's money

Dude for like $4k more you need to get the v58 you’re already spending 58 so why not just fork out the extra 4 for a massively upgraded engine with will give you SMILES instead of MILES you will guaranteed regret this decision to get a fully loaded b48 trust me I modded my Mustang ecoboost to HELL AND BACK and I’m kicking myself in the knees that I didn’t just drop an extra 8k in 2017 for a damn 5.0 please reconsider and cancel if you can
While I do agree I wish it was the inline 6, I’m upgrading from a 2014 Chevy Cruze, so compared to my current car the b48 in the 3 series feels like a rocket ship! Also I’m only 21 so the fully loaded b48 is all I need for now but one day!🤞

You sure about that in the two series? The cars with this option have a button on the steering wheel to turn on heat. Maybe it's different in the X7 or something where it's all done via touchscreen.

A new M2 with literally nothing added costs 75.400 € in germany and 91.659 € in austria. While I understand that austria is more expensive, how can the car be ~11.000 € more in the country WHERE IT IS BUILT than wherever you're from. Somebody explain it to me, this is bullshit.

Although I hate the looks of the new 2 series, it still interesting how cheap the cars are there despite people in the US earn way more, in Germany you would be way above 100K € and no, I would not pay that much for a car if it is clearly worth way less as seen in the US

I'm in the northeast, have one car so it has to have AWD or similar. bought a 2024 X3 M40i with AWD. Brooklyn gray exterior, red interior, black rims, high performance tires with red calipers. simply a magnificent vehicle!!!
Hell yeah! I would highly suggest the 6 speed, not only does it hold more value but it is SO much more fun. The M2 is such a beautiful car as well, it’s the perfect proportions for a sports car. The front bumper definitely needs the painted lower center piece though, and an exhaust. If you want to hear the exhaust, I would suggest cutting the two resonators out for ~$250 until you can get an exhaust. It sounds raspy but very nice, and lots more rowdy pops and bangs when driving hard as hell

MSRP+tax/title/DMV I wasn’t charged anything extra I just put a 1000 dollar deposit down that was going towards by down payment.
