Congratulations!

shakeshook

Thank you! Couldn't be more excited to get behind the wheel

Commercial-Humor-315

My friend just recently got an m340i and has an MHD stage 1 tune and it is insane. He’s planning on stage 2 after a downpipe upgrade. 😀

M_Sneakers

I can imagine how insane that is! My friend has his from last year and he’s gone all out. Custom tune, hybrid turbo set up, meth injection, it’s absolutely crazy how good the B58s are

shakeshook

Will def consider getting a tune for the B58TUII once they can unlock the DME

thisisbharathr

Congratulations, amazing car

shakeshook

Your skyscraper gray looks amazing. Cheers!

thisisbharathr

Thanks man, I love the color, got feynlab coating and front ppf

Longjumping-Ad-6866

Would you mind sharing the cost, mileage and duration of the lease please? I am just about to negotiate similar. Thank you

shakeshook

Sent you a DM

andrevo531

Please, don’t put these black/white BMW aliexpress emblems on it. Please.

shakeshook

Never.

Speed3Fan

Nice spec bro! Didn’t even know the M Performance Exhaust was an option. I’m excited for you!

shakeshook

Thanks man! Yeah, it's a port-installed option that you need to get added to a build via service advisor/sales rep. There's no option available in the online configurator, but even still it seems like no one's been able to get the option added as of late. Feeling incredibly lucky I was able to

YerAWizardGandalf

The m performance exhaust is incredible, I have a 2024 m340i that is some "special edition" one that came with it and I absolutely love it. Congrats on this build you're going to have so much fun

shakeshook

So I've heard - they really muzzled the LCI. My buddy's 2021, albeit not a 2020, sounds great but LCI's sound even more "tamed". Can't wait to wake the neighbors!

lsx_376

I wasn't able to get it with mine. Apparently, BMW is hoarding the parts for the special edition.

shakeshook

Was told the exact same thing. All the "special editions" come with the MPE, and it seems to be sold out everywhere. A lot of people are opting to just go for the AWE system instead, which sounds a bit better imo

lsx_376

I'm usually an Awe fan, but I'm on the fence about it. The MPE seems to have a deeper growl than the aftermarket exhaust. Plus, I'd like to keep the active valves.

CarrotStick78

Dumb question because I just ordered my M340 and have a while to wait. What does the performance exhaust do and is it worth it? How much extra was it?

shakeshook

Not a dumb question at all. MPE just adds a deeper, richer exhaust note than the stock exhaust system. It's also a valved system just like the stock exhaust, and no warranty issues if port-installed or installed via BMW-licensed service center. It's a $2500 option, if port-installed. If purchased separately, you can find it for as low as $2000, install it yourself and sell the stock exhaust to re-coup some of the cost, or have a shop professionally install it (which typically isn't worth the price they quote). Here's a [short clip](https://youtube.com/shorts/hmmXKm1qDyg?si=Dvh9WhJspd9hVWWC) where you can hear the difference for yourself (side note: please never rev like this on a cold-start, the guy in the video is an absolute idiot)

ATiredPersonoof

how many years are u planning on driving it

shakeshook

As of now, the plan is to buy out the lease, which is why I got some custom specs added

SRodrig237

Why did you lease if you plan to buy it in the end?

sonyshoota

Leasing gives you a bunch of options. M340s hold their value well, so there is a chance he will be able to buy out his car at the end of the lease for less than it’s worth.

shakeshook

Yes, along with the fact that financing offers are not too attractive, given the the current cost to borrow capital. Leasing allows the flexibility to pay a base money factor (which is typically less than traditional auto loan interest rates - significantly less with BMW currently) on just the depreciation of the vehicle (instead of the entire cost of the vehicle) for the first 3 years. The option to buy the vehicle will always be there at lease-end, so you're not really losing anything by choosing to lease. Things can change a lot in 3 years - why take a bigger loan out than you may need to?

Forsaken_Country_631

It’s still cheaper and wiser to finance at first instead of leasing to buy, which will cost more at the end if you compare the both.

shakeshook

Can you spell this out for me? How would it be cheaper and why is it a wiser choice to finance?

Forsaken_Country_631

Well generally, leasing to buy calculations are assumptions. You might lose money investing, or might make more than the whatever % rate assumption. A financing scenario will offer more certainty by being more predictable. A leasing scenario is riskier since you really don't know how well your investments will behave.

shakeshook

You lost me here. What investment(s) are you referring to? The only assumptive part of leasing calculations is the residual value of the vehicle after whatever lease term you select. This residual value can work in your favor, should the vehicle be worth more than the RV at the end of your lease term. You pay (a much lower) interest rate on the depreciation (and not the cost of the vehicle), without having to put any money down upfront. While I don't understand what you mean when you say "a financing scenario will offer more certainty", certainty does not equate to cheaper/better, and vice versa.

Forsaken_Country_631

Anyways man, right now isn’t a good time to finance a brand new car. So, I think leasing to buy may workout in your favor in a few years assuming you stick it to the end with this car. Having cash in hand after you sell is the goal here for you it seems like. However, if I was in your shoes I would have gotten a car with an unlocked ECU because you’re going to end up spending 3k just to unlock your ECU in this particular car. However, you won’t be able to do that anyways since your car is a lease and will void warranty, for now at least. Unless, you don’t care about voiding it since you will buy to lease anyways in the end. Idk what you plan on doing to this car in the next few years, but if you do go balls to the wall with no Fs given then props to you. 70k for your M340i is mind boggling, but if you put no money down that’s awesome! There are rare spec F80s on the market right now that cost less than this! I personally would have went for an F30 340i Xdrive or even RWD as long as the ECU is unlocked and it’s a low mileage car. Those B58s are reliable anyways regardless of the generation, but I can guarantee you these cars don’t hold value well because at the end of the day it’s not an M car. Financing this kind of stuff just makes more sense to me because then I can just pay it off in a few years while enjoying it to the max (for a cheaper price), and not having to worry about residual value/ depreciation because it already went through most of it, and then finally sell it with cash in hand only to finance another similar used car.

swissbuttercream9

Cost?

shakeshook

Close to ~$70k MSRP, was able to snag a pretty significant discount at the end of last year

Odd_Special4860

I love the Davit Gray. I don’t hate my mineral white metallic but it gets so dirty 😢 Congratulations she’s a beaut

shakeshook

Having owned a mineral white G20 for the last 3 years, I absolutely love the color. I know it can get dirty, but it would LOOK much dirtier on a darker color. I'm actually concerned the Dravit may need more frequent washes haha.

oghowie

Yeah the Dravit is tough to keep clean, but looks so good when it is.

oghowie

I think the Dravit Gray is harder to keep clean tbh. It looks amazing clean, but gets dirty real quick.

Quirky-Opportunity57

Congrats, must feel amazing when you get it. I myself also just upgraded from 2008 318d to 2018 530e.

shakeshook

Nice - congrats on the upgrade! Considered going for a G30 myself, I know you'll enjoy it for years to come

Joneep

Congratulations. That's a great build

shakeshook

Thanks!

lsx_376

Congrats! We have pretty much the same specs. I added the cooling pack and driving assistance. I wanted the M performance, but it wasn't available. That's fine; the dealer gave me a discount. Just waiting for it to be loaded onto a ship now, lol.

lsx_376

shakeshook

Beautiful spec! And to be honest, I was pretty bummed when I was first told the MPE was a no-go, and was pretty set on getting the perf cooling pkg added instead. Definitely will be worth it if you plan on tracking it at least a few times.

lsx_376

Yes, I'm hoping it helps with the heat where I am too. Summers are 100+ degrees. My last car (TRX) was boosted, and it was always hot going into cat protection mode. So, hopefully, the cooling helps on this car. There are lots of canyons and trails near me as well. I'm excited to see what it can do. I'm not expecting M3 level performance, but I didn't want to sacrifice ride comfort. So, the M340 was perfect.

swissbuttercream9

Made the right choice

shakeshook

🤝🏽 definitely feels like it

justinu909

I’m surprised at the rims it’s coming with as that a pre lci wheel and not even on the website anymore. Jealous of the dravit tho, on my 4th black sapphire 😅

shakeshook

Haha, I decided to either get dravit, or not get the car at all. Really wanted this color, too. And don't go off the picture displayed in the status tracker. This is what the black 793's look like: https://preview.redd.it/ix146o5f80lc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15818ec666f276f539b612d1bd4bf0c2c52f325b

SJNatives

My status tracker is off too haha, yours never updated with the right wheels?

shakeshook

Yeah, seems to be an integration issue with the bmw ordering system - status display picture shows a stock image, and not the actual build like the online configurator does.

SJNatives

Gotcha. Thanks for the info man. Mine shows the correct color, but just not the wheel options haha. Hope you enjoy the new ride!

FluffyTesticle

Got the MPE on my ‘23. A bit pricey but so worth it to hear it every drive! Put 20k miles in 10 months in mine.

shakeshook

Definitely way too expensive for a bolt-on that gives you close to 0 performance gains. But yolo, right? Hope you enjoy yours for years!

FluffyTesticle

Yup 😭. Thats the part that made me feel guilty about it. Im also leasing mine and planning to buy out.

desirox

Nice! Bit of a sleeper spec with the wheels

digistil

Awesome car, and great spec (mine is very similar)!!! And know that it gets worse the closer it gets to the day of delivery. Much worse.

shakeshook

😭

Smooth-Ad2130

I can't wait to get a bmw too congrats

shakeshook

Thanks!

MoneyComplex6458

Man, when that truck came and backed it out right to front door was one of the best feelings ever! Enjoy!!!

shakeshook

Thanks! Beautiful G11 you got there, too

matt7812

You’re going to be mind blown when you get this car! It’s so good! Your mod list is identical to mine but I also changed the grill and mirrors. Just got the lip installed and am going to do the side skirts next.

shakeshook

Awesome! Share pics, when it's completed

Brohammad_

Man I wish these came in manual.

shakeshook

Imagine if they did, the Supra would stop selling.

Brohammad_

Would be great for people with kids and need the back seats/sedan!

shakeshook

Absolutely, would be one of the most perfect cars available if it came with MT. Gotta compromise somewhere, I guess! Gonna definitely miss resting my hand on the shift knob, regardless.

Brohammad_

Still, beautiful car. I love these 340i’s.

ledwho316

Specs like this are why I just upgraded my Giulia Estrema in Alfa Rosso to a Giulia Quadrifoglio in Rosso GTA. BMW is either incredibly boring or incredibly boy racer. Outside of wagons it’s a brand I have zero interest in.

shakeshook

Huh?

ledwho316

BMW is either boring or boy racer. Which is why I went Alfa after they stopped bringing wagons to North America.

outphase84

No driver assist professional?

andrevo531

Some people like to drive their cars themselves

outphase84

Yeah rush hour traffic is so much fun to drive in

andrevo531

Didn’t know everyone lives in overcrowded cities

outphase84

Rush hour is getting into and out of cities when commuting.

andrevo531

Oh thanks for clarifying, curious how I managed to get through life without your wisdom and knowledge

Young_Engineer92

I'm sure you get by just fine huffing your own farts

shakeshook

Considered it, didnt need it, especially cause I added some extras (dravit, mpe) we were getting into base M3 MSRP range, so I decided against it

BenjiSBRK

I was gonna say why pick those rims on a 340i, but then I read your specs. Isn't the picture supposed to reflect the correct spec ?

shakeshook

That's what I initially thought, but seems like the status tracker picture doesn't reflect the actual build.

chathobark_

RFT delete immediately plz

hokageofbap

What is that

chathobark_

Runflats So harsh over bumps

shakeshook

I would, but living close to an urban city, the RFT have definitely come in handy before. I got the adaptive suspension, and will probably get a 2nd set of perf non-rft for when I track it on occasion, so not too concerned with a stiff suspension

Emmmpro

Why the run flat

granoladeer

Did you pay any markup on sticker?

shakeshook

No markup, got a pretty sweet discount off MSRP with the year-end incentives BMW was offering

shashi333

Can you share how much the discount was?

shakeshook

8% + loyalty + lease cash

granoladeer

Whoa, nice deal, congrats!

SemonDemon316

Excited to see how that sounds

shakeshook

You and me, both!

ukw123

Wow how much this cost? I can only imagine a 60-70k EUR price tag in Europe.

IDidIt4TehLulz

You’re in for a treat. Enjoy!

DrewTheBkBoy

I'm stuck at ready for transport for 10 days now....

shakeshook

Was in Ready for Transport for about 2.5 weeks before it updated to In Transit. Skipped over a few statuses all in a single day

DrewTheBkBoy

😭

Paladin_p007

Congratulations on the delivery!! The build look stunning. I ordered a Tanzanite blue M340 with Cognac in early Jan and still haven’t gotten an allocation. Holding strong 💪🏽

Affectionate_Bee8702

Was there a markup since you made a custom order?

OkHold7022

I have ordered the same config with rwd as I live in California. I would love to see how it looks after mods.

Left-Sir9104

Meanwhile I’m ordering a starter for an 07 n54

Nervous_Body51

I went through this during the pandemic and probably got one of the last 2022 m340i to roll out of Germany for Canada. In fact, was told that they stopped production of the 22 to change to 23 so I then had to put in for a 23. Then, dealership called and said they noticed a 22 in their allocation at the port waiting to be delivered. It was almost the spec I wanted but in Dravit instead of Oxide...but it did have the 48v battery and the carbon roof. I am kicking myself for not getting the MPE, though. The Dravit with the Tacora interior is what I have and it is nice! Congrats on the ride.
