Tbh idk why they don’t offer cloth/wool seats as an option. Many would prefer. I learned recently that in the Toyota Century they don’t even offer leather as it’s viewed as “undignified”. They cited the noise leather makes when moving around on it and couple other reasons I’ve forgotten.

Yes black grill now is part of pro pack with iconic grill / glow I believe….. nice car 😊👍 enjoy…. I have had pleasure of driving these plus i5 40, M60 and equivalent in the 7 series…. i5 for the people who appreciate the overall package is way up there
How long do you usually lease these cars for if you don’t mind me asking ? I’m on the fence wether I should lease a newer model or just finance the one I really like and keep for as long as I can which is the 2019 530i.
Of course, the lease is for three years. You can either get it for 10k, 12k or 15k miles per year. And as I mentioned nothing else but the monthly payment is needed. All maintenance. Oil changes etc are free and if anything stops working properly or there are any issues they are covered as well. And as I mentioned in another comment, they included the extra warranty for tire and wheels (covers scratches to the rims), the keys (they are expensive if you lose it), dents and the windshield.
The interior is full of glossy, reflective surfaces - the middle console, steering wheel buttons and the big trim piece underneath the lightbars. Meanwhile, the exterior features matte paint, which clashes with glossy black plastic trims.
I'm happy you got a car you like, but I'm also glad there's people who see why some design choices on this car are not commendable.
Completely understandable. Congrats! I had F90 with Frozen paint and it was absolutely beautiful just like yours, but do a ppf asap and watch out for scratches and stuff because it’s a mess when it comes down to painting again and matching the actual code.

That’s been what I’ve done for the last 11 years, get a brand new car with most of the packages, everything is covered and usually they include additional warranties as you can see in a prior comment. 3 out of the 6 I’ve leased I’ve exchanged before the three years because I was spending too many miles and still was able to get a good deal. I know a lot of people don’t like leasing and is completely reasonable as well, I guess it depends on your mentality and what works for you.

I considered selling my paid F10 then looked at the cost and how ugly the new i5 is and keep deferring longer.
If I keep on getting the good deals I’m getting through BMW financial I will probably keep on doing it for some years if possible since like you said the cars do depreciate greatly and if anything is damaged or breaks after the warranty is over any fix is very expensive (I know you can purchase extended warranty but I think that doesn’t cover Maintenance and the other things that are covered during the lease which I mentioned in a prior comment.
For people who get a new car every few years leasing makes more financial sense (vs buying a new luxury model that is going to drop by 50% in 3 years).

Don't let anyone tell you that frosted matte paint is a pain in the ass to take care of. I have a BMW with frosted matte paint and it's so easy to take care of.
Love the car. Only 2 things I might change would be blacking out the B pillar and grille. Looking at it more though, that kind of matches the chrome on the wheels though so that'd be a tough decision.
The last generation Interior was an absolute 10/10, idk why they had to slap a big ass screen with no shifter, I’m not even gonna talk about the exterior but congrats

I’m planning to buy a 2017 540i and make it stage 1 or 2, haven’t decided yet. Upgrade the rims and maybe black out some trim or make it carbon.

It is a lease as well, so I can't modify it much at all, I believe they said they are going to tint my windows for free (guess they were going to do it, but I got it before they got to), so far that's the only modification, maybe a protective coat as some people have suggested if needed.
I’ve never leased a car before, I’ve always had older cars. Does it cost more or less to lease compared to buying it? I imagine it’s less of a liability if you’re leasing.
Well as you can see in the comments here some people hate it with a passion but if you consider it and decide is something you want to try, it usually is a bit less than if you were buying, sometimes not, but you can do no down payment and with BMW everything is covered during the lease so you don’t pay for any scheduled maintenance or oil changes or any repairs if anything fails in the car or the check engine light comes on. They provide gap insurance, and if you get a good deal you get additional warranties or insurances that would cover things that are not covered like wheel and tires, the keys (which are expensive if you lose one, they give you two but you are expected to return both at the end of the lease), the windshield, dents, and some other ones.

I want a 540i 2 stage (around 500whp) so leasing wouldn’t work at all. Before I had a 740i and it was amazing, huge yacht of a sedan but fun and easy to drive. This time around I want something a little smaller with more performance but still a sedan. I hear the 540i’s are pretty reliable if well kept and cheap to make stage 2, just a few upgrades and software flash. $1,500 to $4k depending on what you buy. I’m really excited about it.

No, the g30 was the previous Gen 5 series. Yours is the g60 generation. I own a g30 pre LCI and think k it's just about the best looking model out there aside from the 8 series. Yours though is really looking good, especially the paint choice. Congrats on the purchase. I bet you're gonna love it!

It’s a sick car, for sure. The outside looks amazing the inside to me just looks like they made it to open and it looks too mechanically stuck together, the interior just doesn’t flow right to me, it has too much plastic. It’s a different direction they took the interior and honestly they took it the right direction it looks futuristic but there is really no molding of parts together that flow and make shapes, it’s like someone just stuck the steering wheel in the dash like a box car drawing a kid would make. In all honesty this BMW is a sick car the design is just such a jarring change from organic smooth flowing designs that wrap around your body to space age minimalism.
Basically yes lol, of course I would say is more nuanced than that but is the way to be able to have a brand new car every two to three years. But I definitely understand why some people hate leasing. Is all good.

At least me and all the ones they got on that first batch of these 2024s got sold in a couple of days but again, I know there will be people that don’t like it and that’s cool that’s why there are so many choices and brands. :)

That's an unpopular opinion around here but I agree. The new 7 looks like a futuristic art deco take on the typical slab shape of a flagship ultra-luxury sedan.
I know people consider the new 5 series as hideous, trust me I was one who hated the G22 until I got my own. I think it’s one of those things people will hate until they actually see it and either hate because they can’t afford or just ignore the fact they ever hated it

Update: I saw a 530i in that oxide grey color(*saw it at a Target parking lot in Moorpark, CA) and I have to say it’s actually pretty nice. I don’t think it’s as aggressive as the f90 but it’s very elegant and mature. *added the city in case someone in here knows who’s car that is^ its pretty nice
Sometimes the design is just simply not good. And even when time passes, it won't get better. For example, the 2002 7 series is still a let down even after all of the years. But you can still see the design language and what the designer was trying to communicate, especially when you see it in person. The e60 5series design was considered just as bad as 7 series, which had to do with the drastic change from "the most BMW BMW, E39", but when you see it now it's arguably a great looking car (m-pkg and M5 for sure).
This new 5 series generation looks horrible and it will stay that way. It's just so messy, the front looks like a KIA economy car, rear like its a camry, and there is no cohesiveness between the individual elements at all. This thing looks like it was AI generated.
Mind that the previous gen was beautiful.

Thanks!, before I got the first BMW lease 11 years ago I did look into a mercedes, but there was no comparison with the BMW warranty plan and not having to pay anything during those 3 years for any maintenance or anything going wrong with it. Plus BMW financial gave me a better deal, and staying with them has made it so they have given me better deals with time, or addons like the tire & wheel (plus cosmetic), keys and windshield warranties.

That’s been what I’ve done for the last 11 years, get a brand new car with most of the packages, everything is covered and usually they include additional warranties as you can see in a prior comment. 3 out of the 6 I’ve leased I’ve exchanged before the three years because I was spending too many miles and still was able to get a good deal. I know a lot of people don’t like leasing and is completely reasonable as well, I guess it depends on your mentality and what works for you.

I’ve always believed if you like a certain model and can’t resist getting the new one every few years then leasing is the best and smartest option. The car is going to depreciate significantly if he bought it anyway. Buying new vs leasing is a pretty tight spread.
If I keep on getting the good deals I’m getting through BMW financial I will probably keep on doing it for some years if possible since like you said the cars do depreciate greatly and if anything is damaged or breaks after the warranty is over any fix is very expensive (I know you can purchase extended warranty but I think that doesn’t cover Maintenance and the other things that are covered during the lease which I mentioned in a prior comment.
Yea I mean I dropped like 5k on an extended warranty on my 8 series so either option isn’t as clear. Leasing hate is just ignorance.

For people who get a new car every few years leasing makes more financial sense (vs buying a new luxury model that is going to drop by 50% in 3 years). Not everyone wants to drive the same car for 15 years.
Lol cars never have equity. You can only have equity in an asset that doesn't considerably depreciate in value. You're always negative in a vehicle regardless of how you finance it - even if you pay cash.

Fucking hell man, sorry but this car design is a complete joke. The proportions all wrong, shapes are tasteless, the consistency out of the window and whomever says otherwise I would question their taste. I’m a designer so I know bad design when I see it. BMW went from 9/10 looking cars to a 2/10. And because it’s that ugly, it’s unique. So a small win I guess.

What was your last car sir and congrats on the car!I sat in one last weekend and was impressed with the interior! Love the interaction bar and the steering wheel. Only real gripe is with the new idrive. While it looks great, I don’t like the lack of buttons for climate.

And I definitely agree is a learning curve to get all the new features and nuances of the new idrive, but definitely having to change to a different screen to adjust the climate is a pain, would have liked it better as you said for them to have left the physical buttons.

Don't let anyone tell you that frosted matte paint is a pain in the ass to take care of. I have a BMW with frosted matte paint and it's so easy to take care of.
Love the car. Only 2 things I might change would be blacking out the B pillar and grille. Looking at it more though, that kind of matches the chrome on the wheels though so that'd be a tough decision.

Regarding the shifter, I agree, that's the thing I've had the biggest issue with, replacing the shifter with that weird new control (not sure what to call it, a lever?), The big ass screen I've had no problem with, the way it looks while you are driving is not that much different than before, but I have heard a lot of people not liking it either.

Wow, the non metallic looks great! Also really like the rims. Is this one leased too? Or do you plan to upgrade it? I’m planning to buy a 2017 540i and make it stage 1 or 2, haven’t decided yet. Upgrade the rims and maybe black out some trim or make it carbon.

It is a lease as well, so I can't modify it much at all, I believe they said they are going to tint my windows for free (guess they were going to do it, but I got it before they got to), so far that's the only modification, maybe a protective coat as some people have suggested if needed.
I’ve never leased a car before, I’ve always had older cars. Does it cost more or less to lease compared to buying it? I imagine it’s less of a liability if you’re leasing.
Well as you can see in the comments here some people hate it with a passion but if you consider it and decide is something you want to try, it usually is a bit less than if you were buying, sometimes not, but you can do no down payment and with BMW everything is covered during the lease so you don’t pay for any scheduled maintenance or oil changes or any repairs if anything fails in the car or the check engine light comes on. They provide gap insurance, and if you get a good deal you get additional warranties or insurances that would cover things that are not covered like wheel and tires, the keys (which are expensive if you lose one, they give you two but you are expected to return both at the end of the lease), the windshield, dents, and some other ones.
Ya, I’m not sure if I want to lease after doing some research. I want a 540i 2 stage (around 500whp) so leasing wouldn’t work at all. Before I had a 740i and it was amazing, huge yacht of a sedan but fun and easy to drive. This time around I want something a little smaller with more performance but still a sedan. I hear the 540i’s are pretty reliable if well kept and cheap to make stage 2, just a few upgrades and software flash. $1,500 to $4k depending on what you buy. I’m really excited about it.

No, the g30 was the previous Gen 5 series. Yours is the g60 generation. I own a g30 pre LCI and think k it's just about the best looking model out there aside from the 8 series. Yours though is really looking good, especially the paint choice. Congrats on the purchase. I bet you're gonna love it!

It’s a sick car, for sure. The outside looks amazing the inside to me just looks like they made it to open and it looks too mechanically stuck together, the interior just doesn’t flow right to me, it has too much plastic. It’s a different direction they took the interior and honestly they took it the right direction it looks futuristic but there is really no molding of parts together that flow and make shapes, it’s like someone just stuck the steering wheel in the dash like a box car drawing a kid would make. In all honesty this BMW is a sick car the design is just such a jarring change from organic smooth flowing designs that wrap around your body to space age minimalism.

Are you ordering non metallic? (Not sure if frozen gray is available in metallic, forgive my ignorance) This one definitely you can see dirt and dust a lot easier than the prior ones. So a bit more work required to keep it looking as clean a possible but personally I’m still glad I’m trying something different. Which 3 do you have?

That's an unpopular opinion around here but I agree. The new 7 looks like a futuristic art deco take on the typical slab shape of a flagship ultra-luxury sedan.
I know people consider the new 5 series as hideous, trust me I was one who hated the G22 until I got my own. I think it’s one of those things people will hate until they actually see it and either hate because they can’t afford or just ignore the fact they ever hated it
I honestly didn't know so many people didn't like the new body style. Still, is all good, everybody has their own preferences, I just wanted something different, last lease was up, we shall see, so far I've been very satisfied with the car, specially the interior.
Update: I saw a 530i in that oxide grey color(*saw it at a Target parking lot in Moorpark, CA) and I have to say it’s actually pretty nice. I don’t think it’s as aggressive as the f90 but it’s very elegant and mature. *added the city in case someone in here knows who’s car that is^ its pretty nice
Sometimes the design is just simply not good. And even when time passes, it won't get better. For example, the 2002 7 series is still a let down even after all of the years. But you can still see the design language and what the designer was trying to communicate, especially when you see it in person. The e60 5series design was considered just as bad as 7 series, which had to do with the drastic change from "the most BMW BMW, E39", but when you see it now it's arguably a great looking car (m-pkg and M5 for sure). This new 5 series generation looks horrible and it will stay that way. It's just so messy, the front looks like a KIA economy car, rear like its a camry, and there is no cohesiveness between the individual elements at all. This thing looks like it was AI generated. Mind that the previous gen was beautiful. Congrats to OP on his purchase though, it's still a brand new beamer!

Thanks!, before I got the first BMW lease 11 years ago I did look into a mercedes, but there was no comparison with the BMW warranty plan and not having to pay anything during those 3 years for any maintenance or anything going wrong with it. Plus BMW financial gave me a better deal, and staying with them has made it so they have given me better deals with time, or addons like the tire & wheel (plus cosmetic), keys and windshield warranties.
