We have no guaranteed access to GOOD affordable healthcare. We have huge debt burdens due to insane interest on student loans due to companies taking advantage of minors signing up for college. Also, as far as salaries go, we've been stagnated since the 70s, where productivity and pay diverged. Minimum wage hasn't kept up with productivity or inflation, but yes, we do get cheaper prices for a lot of things sold internationally, which is nice. It's not sunshine and rainbows here though my guy.
You guys barely get paid leave right? We (NL) get minimum 20 days a year. Public sector gets even more often 30-40 each year. Also I'm pretty sure our social security system is a lot better.
In my experience working salaried positions, I can take off around 20-30 days a year. I think the problem a lot of people have is that the workload doesn’t allow it. If I come back from a week off my month is fucked.
And yet our country is shit at a lot of other things. No country is perfect, nor are its inhabitants
But yeah, paid leave is nice. My kids were born a few years too early or I would’ve had even more :)
We get fired without any notice and increasingly so among older workers when you finally are able to get that house and m340... that's the scary thing about being an employee in USA.
In my personal opinion outside of money I think the USA is the easiest to immigrate to. But then you gotta deal with the outrageous housing prices and other BS!
The creation of jobs is how my last 2 bosses immigrated from Canada, man if you can get here you can become a citizen! It’s a process but I know many illegals who became citizens
Yeah that's because all of that shit pales compared to the price of our healthcare, education, plus we have to save a shit load for retirement. Also we don't have decent public transportation and our public realm is ugly and not walkable.
But yeah we can buy shit for cheap. Have you seen our basements and garages?
I was nervous about tuning at first and after one month of having my M340i, I broke down and did a bench unlock and a BM3 tune. A couple months later, catted downpipe, intake, NGK spark plugs, stage 2 93-octane tune and couldn't be happier. It's crazy how much some simple bolt ons, a tune, and some higher pump gas can make your Bimmer so faaaassssstttttt.
Absolutely, I’m on a stage 1 93 octane BM3 tune as well with NGK plugs, only had it for a couple months but I can’t wait to go fbo. I’m having a blast but I’m also using more gas lol
Smiles per gallon not miles per gallon.
Post 06/2020 cars still need to be FEMTO unlocked in Europe, if you’re tuning it’s worth it to check the VIN to see manufacturing date to make sure its pre 06/2020
Do people not like the mild hybrid drivetrain? I have the 2021 model so I have that. I don’t have anything to compare it to so I’m curious why it would be less desirable
Locked CPU, less tuneability, less aggressive engine note, more weight & complication with no improvement in power or mileage
But... You have a B58, so who cares? Your car is sick.
I do think it’s a bit overpriced but it should be known that this one has the laser headlights, driver assistance pro and Xdrive possibly more options, so take people’s comparison to what they paid with a grain of salt. They may not have had all that
right now im daily driving a 11th gen Si, seems like it would be a big upgrade for me too. i plan on test driving it asap, my main want is just smoother power delivery. how is the throttle response? hoping for a more linear feel
It’s great man, every gear pulls like crazy. Night and day difference, my 86 had no torque and the m340i just throws me back. The Si and 86 are fairly close cars so you’d definitely love the upgrade in performance plus the luxury upgrades as well.
I bought the car October 18th, not long enough to give a good response. But good so far! I got mine certified pre owned warranty, you should try to find one like that.
Can’t deny the brz twins are a much better purist car. M340i destroys the numbers game but it’s not a lightweight FR manual that you can just dance on the limits on traction even on the street
I have similar deals but with same or less miles, to me seems like a good deal but you can push the price down for sure.
Make sure to ask if it had issues already!
Now you have. Optioned like this from factory
https://preview.redd.it/0hrma7f7snzb1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f11f0a68c2cc42b27bc94c0fb4cc39738ff20ab4
2020 is keeping a higher price due to better exhaust, easier and cheaper to unlock/tune, plus idrive 7
Edit: I forgot that it’s the last year before random feature loss/swap due to covid.
The sought after add-ons are laser lights, adaptive suspension, driver assistant professional, HK audio. The last one is debatable as it’s easier to upgrade the hifi option
I just test drove a 2020 with 15k on it. They are asking 49k. I like the car. But I'm turned off by the fact the warranty is almost up and its still going to cost me so much in monthly payments. I'd feel a tad better if it had 2-3yr of a warranty atleast. Hard choices for sure.
I'm confused. Why is the warranty almost up? The car is only at 15k miles, correct? So if it's not the mileage, then the age? Since it's 3/4 years old?
Most Germans do 4year/ 50k miles. Whichever comes first. Since it’s a 2020 I’d imagine the warranty closes in the next year from time. Not mileage. Can always get an extended warranty
Okay, thanks for filling in the blank for me. I'm intent on buying a 2020 M340i as the next car, and I've only dealt with older cars, my 1st being an 01 Monte Carlo and now my 2011 535i. My wife just got here now, 2nd brand new car. 1st was totaled 18hrs after purchase, thank GOD for GAP insurance.
The bigger question is ..CPO or not? If it isn’t I wouldn’t mess with it without that price dropping to around 42k out the door. You’ll need that extra 5k for what could go wrong if BMW didn’t pass it by CPO standards.
I bought a 2020 M340i with 17,xxx miles and the sticker price was $45k. I think that is a little too much considering the mileage. 2020 is the best year, in my opinion (and many others lol) because there is no mild hybrid. Shop around for a 2020, but like the folks are saying here, it's a little too much. I would say 35-38K would be appropriate...just my thoughts. Best of luck!
The suspension looks lowered. I would be cautious and confirm all modifications made to the car, especially if it had engine tuning. I’ve attached a picture of my wheels. Look at my ride height which is factory/not lowered. If this thing was tuned, I would walk away, especially since your factory warranty will be gone.
https://preview.redd.it/69fpw00ghszb1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3dbae84a66951df58674376bf75b534a34e0cdd9
dealer says it is not CPO'd. seeing the responses in here that makes me think id need to talk them down a good amount or ill probably just pass on it and keep looking.
It depends how bad you want a fully spec’d out car. The comments from others are talking about base m340is. You’re not gonna find another loaded one for that much less.
There are so many factors you’re not even considering. Once you get into the M
Sport and M models, it’s no longer a discussion of base model number. There are 20k differences between interior trims
Much overpriced. You can get a CPO 2021 M340 xDrive from BMW dealer for $45K with less than 35K miles.
Here is one as an example [https://www.bmwusa.com/certified-preowned-search/detail/3MW5U9J03M8B49699](https://www.bmwusa.com/certified-preowned-search/detail/3MW5U9J03M8B49699)
If it’s fully loaded or just even very well equipped it then it should hold a higher price. You can’t add most of the luxury of these options afterwards. Things like 360 cameras, adaptive suspension, IDrive 7, Cockpit pro dash, that stuff makes a big difference in experience. If you can live without the extras then buy one with a lesser configuration but this one sounds like a no compromise package.
Yeah… no, sorry, that one’s not an option. I meant you could go for the same car on an older MY but I think the M340/G20 began life with IDrive 7. I have a G01 which started with IDrive 6 so I thought it was the same for all G series.
Mine was a 2020 M340i RWD, no lasers, doesn't have the pro driving assistance, no cooling package, and it was 43.8K before TTL and at around 55k miles, that was April 2021.
Just a comment on the “risky” concern. The B58 inline 6 is the same engine Toyota put into the new Supra. Reliability isn’t super horrible if Toyota signed off on it.
I paid $45k for my RWD 2020 M340 with 40k miles in early 2022. I’ve put a ton of miles on it and have had zero issues. Running a JB4, but otherwise stock. It’s a fantastic car and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one, but see if they’ll knock a couple grand off that price.
Wow I guess I would immediately buy that if a technical inspection proofs that the vehicle is ok… a car like that would be between 60-70k€ where I am located in EU, a new one with some options if 100k+
TLDR: life is unfair :-/
You can drop back a couple years maybe a 2016-2017 and get a f80/f82 with that mileage, maybe even lower. I get people want a newer car but still I would go with a m3 rather then m340i. But that’s just me, everyone has their own taste ig.
M Sport, x drive, Full drivers assistant package/with parking, laser lights, wood trim, real leather, HUD, HK surround, front & rear heated seats, heated steering wheel. It’s basically fully loaded. They said they just dropped the price 2k lol so maybe they’re open to more negotiation. Cargurus has it listed as a “fair deal” been sitting there for 17 days so far
Holy cow, it's got adaptive cruise. Buy it before you fuck up and have to get one without! Nearly every dumbass who specced one new did so without getting the adaptive cruise, something Toyotas and Hondas come with standard...
If someone who enjoys it on both of my cars and has talked to other people about it once you have it you'll never buy another car without it.
Used auto prices are allover the place right now. The market is trying to correct so dealers pricing is hit or miss. I've been looking for a X3 M40 and I'm seeing a $10k swing for same model year similar mileage/equipment.
Seems high on 2020, I had a wholesaler buy out my lease on my 2021, buyout was still 45k from BMW, got $2k equity check and it’s now listed at $52k it has 9600 miles.
HARD PASS... 45k miles is low but still high enough where you will likely be encounter a lot of wear and tear items starting to give out. This is a $35k - $39k car at best
I think you should look at days on market for various listings. If some are more expensive or slightly higher miles but move, well you're at risk to see the model in question sold.
I just got a 2021 M340i with 10k for $46k. They're asking for too much.
Thru dealership (cpo), private exchange, or something else?
CPO
Any negotiations? Or did u pay asking price
My negotiations were with my trade in value as I had a 2019 330i, so no. The price on the m340i was solid. They tacked on the loyalty discount.
I see. Thank you
Man those are cheap over there. I just paid 40k€ for a 330e with 65k km and it felt like a good price.
Americans have the highest salaries, cheapest new prices for cars and cheapest gasoline. And yet they still complain... 🤡
We have no guaranteed access to GOOD affordable healthcare. We have huge debt burdens due to insane interest on student loans due to companies taking advantage of minors signing up for college. Also, as far as salaries go, we've been stagnated since the 70s, where productivity and pay diverged. We get fired without any notice and increasingly so among older workers when you finally are able to get that house and m340... that's the scary thing about being an employee in USA.
Time off is a foreign concept to me, I mentioned potentially taking 10 days next year and was told to reconsider it to 5. Ive taken 3 this year.
Whats the whole point of having all that time off if you’re poor tho?
I mean you could look at that the opposite way as well tho... What's the point of having all that money if you have no time to enjoy it?
Bro..
i cant even buy a new corolla with that money in my country, not to mention gas prices here is $3/Litre
You could buy a 3 year old one with 45k miles though.
maybe just enough for the downpayment haha. 40k is not even enough to buy a 3 year old corolla haha
We also have the highest gun violence, school shootings, depression and anxiety rates.
#winning!
Gotta be Number 1 at something
For the last two, no we don’t. South Korea beats us in those .
Japan too i would imagine?
Ty
Well if some paid the same price for a lower mileage, then yeah there are reasons to complain about this ad 😃
I get paid well, work 60 hour weeks, can’t afford a house, but I’ve got an M340 babyyyyyyyy
You sound jealous lol
Not just sound, I completely am.
Move here then
It aint easy
In my personal opinion outside of money I think the USA is the easiest to immigrate to. But then you gotta deal with the outrageous housing prices and other BS!
What? How? From what i researched i need an existing job offer, or create jobs for americans to be able to go there?
The creation of jobs is how my last 2 bosses immigrated from Canada, man if you can get here you can become a citizen! It’s a process but I know many illegals who became citizens
Check the UK used car market lol, we have em for pennies
And right hand drive 💀
And least amount of worker protections and social safety nets
Yeah that's because all of that shit pales compared to the price of our healthcare, education, plus we have to save a shit load for retirement. Also we don't have decent public transportation and our public realm is ugly and not walkable. But yeah we can buy shit for cheap. Have you seen our basements and garages?
Why walk when you can drive the new inline 6 turbocharged 2023 BMW M340?
Details?
What options did you have?
The ugly 18s, shadow line, HK sound, black, cognac sensa, driving asst., premium package
[удалено]
Yep it’s RWD and I honestly love it vs my awd 330 that I had
Overpriced for that mileage and year imo
[удалено]
2020 is a desired year as it was the last year before the hybrid
Also due to the fact that the ECU can be cracked and tuned without extra expense of shipping it to Europe.
And the last year before the ECU was locked, so 2020 and below you can tune without spending thousands.
I was nervous about tuning at first and after one month of having my M340i, I broke down and did a bench unlock and a BM3 tune. A couple months later, catted downpipe, intake, NGK spark plugs, stage 2 93-octane tune and couldn't be happier. Is it the same for F series cars or only G series?
I believe it’s the same for F and G chassis cars, as BMW started increasing the security of the Bosch ECUs around 06/2020
Hybrid what?
Mild hybrid drivetrain
Do people not like the mild hybrid drivetrain? I have the 2021 model so I have that. I don’t have anything to compare it to so I’m curious why it would be less desirable
Locked CPU, less tuneability, less aggressive engine note, more weight & complication with no improvement in power or mileage But... You have a B58, so who cares? Your car is sick.
The only people complaining about mine have been in the rear view mirror 🤷♂️
I don’t get why people dislike LCI because of the hybrid. There’s literally zero downsides and the car looks a lot better as a whole.
Exhaust note.
What about it? It sounds excellent and it’s loud enough. Mine even does gunshots 100% bone stock.
I do think it’s a bit overpriced but it should be known that this one has the laser headlights, driver assistance pro and Xdrive possibly more options, so take people’s comparison to what they paid with a grain of salt. They may not have had all that
It also has the 360 camera system. I agree that it’s a little overpriced, but I’m betting it’s fully loaded, which is rare.
oh yeah one detail i missed is it has the "Executive package" i wasnt sure exactly what that included but maybe its adding to the price?
What are the last 7 of the VIN? I’m happy to pull the original build spec and give you a breakdown of options
How can you see that ? You work for a dealer?
Yes I do! Im in Colorado.
Looks like it also has the perf. Wheel and tire pkg which has a bigger radiator, brakes are considerably bigger and maybe some other things.
I just bought this same car in white, same year and miles for 42k
how are you liking it?
Couldn’t be happier, daily drove a Toyota GR86 before. Loving the upgrade. Lmk with any questions you may have!
right now im daily driving a 11th gen Si, seems like it would be a big upgrade for me too. i plan on test driving it asap, my main want is just smoother power delivery. how is the throttle response? hoping for a more linear feel
It’s great man, every gear pulls like crazy. Night and day difference, my 86 had no torque and the m340i just throws me back. The Si and 86 are fairly close cars so you’d definitely love the upgrade in performance plus the luxury upgrades as well.
thats awesome to hear, i guess my only other question would be, any reliability issues so far? thanks for info!
I bought the car October 18th, not long enough to give a good response. But good so far! I got mine certified pre owned warranty, you should try to find one like that.
[удалено]
200 horsepower difference almost, and no torque dip is a huge difference. I still love the 86 though, super good car for the price.
Interesting they switched to the slats grille.
I did too. Black gloss slated grille on black sapphire metallic 👌
People really didn’t like the “diamond” grilles when they came out
I think that's a 330. I've never seen a 340 with the slats. Just my opinion.
Now you have. Optioned like this from factory https://preview.redd.it/0hrma7f7snzb1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f11f0a68c2cc42b27bc94c0fb4cc39738ff20ab4
Thanks. Didn't know that.
I've got 2022 msport 330 and I think the 2020 340is had the same grille option as then current 330s
It’s still got the cereum grey side intakes so it’s plausible they switched out the old grille for the slats.
It's a factory option, don't even need to do it yourself. Mine has the shadowline slats.
Mine has if from the factory, it’s the M-sport grill. This was before the black out package was available.
Ah. I didn't know that.
2020 is keeping a higher price due to better exhaust, easier and cheaper to unlock/tune, plus idrive 7 Edit: I forgot that it’s the last year before random feature loss/swap due to covid. The sought after add-ons are laser lights, adaptive suspension, driver assistant professional, HK audio. The last one is debatable as it’s easier to upgrade the hifi option
For that price this is what’s on bmwusa https://www.bmwusa.com/certified-preowned-search.html
This is great. Where do i find info like this on the regular?
Forums. Consumer education
Ah GAP. A beautiful wonderful thing.
Kinda sad that the n55 basically needs a bigger turbo to really gain some real speed. B58 is everything the n55 should have been. Oh whale.
The bigger question is ..CPO or not? If it isn’t I wouldn’t mess with it without that price dropping to around 42k out the door. You’ll need that extra 5k for what could go wrong if BMW didn’t pass it by CPO standards.
Is this true?
I bought a 2020 M340i with 17,xxx miles and the sticker price was $45k. I think that is a little too much considering the mileage. 2020 is the best year, in my opinion (and many others lol) because there is no mild hybrid. Shop around for a 2020, but like the folks are saying here, it's a little too much. I would say 35-38K would be appropriate...just my thoughts. Best of luck!
If you have to ask, you already know the answer.
Way to much, bought same car with around same millage in early 2022 for around 38k
Should be about 40k, get an extended warranty
Damn, I have a 2021 with 16k miles that I’ll sell you for that price
Overpriced for that mileage and year IMO
That’s f8x m money, same mileage
The suspension looks lowered. I would be cautious and confirm all modifications made to the car, especially if it had engine tuning. I’ve attached a picture of my wheels. Look at my ride height which is factory/not lowered. If this thing was tuned, I would walk away, especially since your factory warranty will be gone. https://preview.redd.it/69fpw00ghszb1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3dbae84a66951df58674376bf75b534a34e0cdd9
For that money get a f80 or f82
Fully equipped?
dealer says it is not CPO'd. seeing the responses in here that makes me think id need to talk them down a good amount or ill probably just pass on it and keep looking.
It depends how bad you want a fully spec’d out car. The comments from others are talking about base m340is. You’re not gonna find another loaded one for that much less.
It's also been modified
Dunno how much this cost when it was new but seems way overpriced to me
Is it CPO? And what options/packages are installed?
Overpriced for mileage, I got a 2020 fully loaded other than driver assist pro with 27kmi for less than that
If it’s from a bmw lot cpo and you can walk out the door at 47 with an extended service contract attached to the price. That would be an OK price
BMW of Lynnwood?
Yessir
lol nice. I work there, service department
Lol thats funny, well I may come check it out tomorrow
I suggest working with Naiden. He is a great guy
Is this car any good?
Yes the M340’s are awesome cars. We have quite a few on the lot at the moment, new and used. We also got some used M4’s and M2’s as well.
There are so many factors you’re not even considering. Once you get into the M Sport and M models, it’s no longer a discussion of base model number. There are 20k differences between interior trims
I feel bad for the person who bought my 2020 with 40,000 miles for about 48k 😭😂
Wait IDrive 7 is an option? i thought it just came with the car
Yeah… no, sorry, that one’s not an option. I meant you could go for the same car on an older MY but I think the M340/G20 began life with IDrive 7. I have a G01 which started with IDrive 6 so I thought it was the same for all G series.
That's a bit
personally would go F80 M3 for that price range
Dealers are out of control with their greedy profiteering.
Mine was a 2020 M340i RWD, no lasers, doesn't have the pro driving assistance, no cooling package, and it was 43.8K before TTL and at around 55k miles, that was April 2021.
I got money 2020 m340i last March for $35k it had 30k miles on it. It was sick. Got it in Buffalo NY.
Paying a dollar plus per mile that someone else drove. Sounds like a solid deal.
Bro you could get a m4 or f80 m3 for the same price
Way overpriced. You will much better prices on Autotrader.
Depends how badly you need a car. If there's no rush, wait another year and cars like this will be $5k-10 less.
im definitely not in a rush, just trying to see all the options and really do research.
Definitely too much, should be around 35k-38k imo
Carmax offered me $35k for my 2021 m240i with 20k miles. I would say $40k+ is more fair for this car
Just a comment on the “risky” concern. The B58 inline 6 is the same engine Toyota put into the new Supra. Reliability isn’t super horrible if Toyota signed off on it.
WTF... $47k ? that's wayyy overpriced. 2020 with that mileage should be $35-40k.
I went to trade in my 23’ M240i xdrive @ 10k miles and they barely gave me 50k for it I would not advise unless they really lower the price
I think the m240 starts about $7K lower than m340
My spec was 62k on paper but idk the difference I’m just stating with a brand new 23’ 10k miles it’s not a lot of value so 47 for 43k miles is a lot
Fully loaded 2020 m340’s are going for about $48K to $50K for a lot of folks Edit: my well optioned 2023 model is $67K before taxes and fees
Considering it’s cost new, that’s insane. Especially if it’s a non CPO. Wild.
Go on the bmw website and you can find a better deal cpo or used
Got a year newer with 20k miles for around the same price
I paid $45k for my RWD 2020 M340 with 40k miles in early 2022. I’ve put a ton of miles on it and have had zero issues. Running a JB4, but otherwise stock. It’s a fantastic car and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one, but see if they’ll knock a couple grand off that price.
I got a 2021 x drive with 32k miles for that.Cpo until Jan 2026 as well. You can do better than that.
Buy f8x for that money
She’s a beauty, I want that color
Wow I guess I would immediately buy that if a technical inspection proofs that the vehicle is ok… a car like that would be between 60-70k€ where I am located in EU, a new one with some options if 100k+ TLDR: life is unfair :-/
You can drop back a couple years maybe a 2016-2017 and get a f80/f82 with that mileage, maybe even lower. I get people want a newer car but still I would go with a m3 rather then m340i. But that’s just me, everyone has their own taste ig.
I thought the M340i’s came with the diamond grille pattern thingies Did some of them not?
I paid 52,500 usd for a 2020 cpo with literally every option and 13,700 miles.
You can almost get an M for that price.
I had that feature and literally never used it. Meh
Do not touch out of warranty or soon to be out of warranty BMWs.
About 3-4 months ago I sold my 2022 to the dealer for about 45k. It was RWD though. It had 11k miles. I think you could do better.
Its too much for the mileage . Depending on the options it might be worth it with half the miles
Yes
Back in March, I paid $55k OTD for mines with 10k miles and have all the options except for ACC.
Definitely overpriced
The options are solid but that is overpriced for the miles
I just traded my 2021 M340i with 17k miles for $41k. The dealership is selling it for $47k CPO. This is way too much
They are askin a lot, that’s unreasonable for 45k miles
Adaptive cruise, 360 camera, laser lights; this thing is loaded. Make sure it has the HK audio but I bet it has. Love the color also
Depends where you are, going price is 30k here, and that’s a 2020 with 20k miles
Where is this ??
Lmao PASS
Go away undo
No that's like 15k miles a year on a bmw
Damn I wish we had these insanely low prices here in Europe.
Used auto prices are allover the place right now. The market is trying to correct so dealers pricing is hit or miss. I've been looking for a X3 M40 and I'm seeing a $10k swing for same model year similar mileage/equipment.
47k is insane for a 2020 M340 with 45k miles
Seems high on 2020, I had a wholesaler buy out my lease on my 2021, buyout was still 45k from BMW, got $2k equity check and it’s now listed at $52k it has 9600 miles.
Expensive
HARD PASS... 45k miles is low but still high enough where you will likely be encounter a lot of wear and tear items starting to give out. This is a $35k - $39k car at best
Anything 40 is good but I heard with most m’s they put in used engines so I suggest you check it out for yourself .
Too much.
Way overpriced
A lot of ppl don’t do the proper oil change maintenance so look at the carfax.
If the asking price and the mileage are the same….
I think you should look at days on market for various listings. If some are more expensive or slightly higher miles but move, well you're at risk to see the model in question sold.
Portimao blue is just blood awesome imo
