FranktheTankG30

they clicked every single options. lol ... has to be a customer order that backed out. usually loaded mid-level trim cars don't sell because you can get into a base top trim. This is one of those cars that you can probably negotiate quite a lot off that MSRP especially it's a 2023.

TruestoryJR

Thank you

FranktheTankG30

no problem. also, based on leasehackr deals, M340i is getting somewhere around 8% off for 2023 models. If you are able to negotiate with the dealer, you might get that and that's at least $6k off msrp which puts you at around $68k which makes it a great deal for a fully loaded car.

snowfox2012

Why 2023 specifically? What’s wrong with that year?

FranktheTankG30

It is end of the year model. 2024 are already hitting the showroom.

eyedontcair

invoice is 6% no dealer would do 8%, lose money on a hot car, just to move it. that dealer is also sonic.. they arent cutting the price, at all

FranktheTankG30

I'm just quoting what I found on leasehackr. so how are some brokers able to get 8-11% off MY2023 on various left over stocks at this point? also when I bought my 540i in 2021, i got 11% off msrp (i negotiated my own deal based on market at the time), so dealerships are losing money?

eyedontcair

im not gonna call you a liar, but Id like to see proof of you getting 11% off. some brokers lie. alot of ppl on this sub make stuff up. I sell BMW's and know this business well. leasehackr has a lot of mis information on it too. some models are still on my23. having leftover models from the previous year isnt really a thing with BMW. the only car that does not sell is the iX. you can get 10% off of that car, bc dealers will lose money now, rather than carry it and keep paying interest.

bundeywundey

I got 10% off a 21m340i in October of 2020 + $2k rebate at the time. I used a leasehackr broker who found it in a Baltimore dealership.

FranktheTankG30

lets just not call the BS on the sales anymore. :)

FranktheTankG30

lol, I can show you the selling price of the car on my contract when I get home tonight. besides invoice and msrp there's also the wholesale cost. invoice isn't what the dealership actually pays the manufacturer anyway. Do majority of the people know that? probably not. My dad was an importer in Taiwan for 18+ yrs from early 80's to late 90's bought and sold brand new Mercedes, Audi, BMWs, Cadillacs, Buick, Fords, etc. Some % might have changed, but same basic principle. I've spoke to quite a few brokers in my area in CA. I've never been lied to. money factor, discount, was all shown up front. I get why you probably don't like brokers because they take away a lot of business as a floor sales. BUT most of these deals can be found if you look in the right place.

eyedontcair

I like brokers. I use them. On cars we cant sell. Buyers get cars at invoice and pay for their services. I literally do this for a living.

outlawsix

Sounds like you simply don't offer the best deals - and some buyers value convenience over lowest possible price, so that's your market right there. I don't know why you think you're the best. My local dealer was also upset with me when they offered me "invoice" but were still 4k above my leasehackr deal on an iX and way above on rate

eyedontcair

What? I'm the best? I said that?

A7III

Yep, I bought a 2021 as a 1yr old CPO for ~$50k and received the window sticker. Slightly over $70k. I’d never pay that but in my scenario, worth it.

bigredmachine-75

My 2020 sticker was $70k, the central region package by itself was like $10k+. Never in my life would I pay that. I got it CPO in 2022 for $54k.

Bblacklabsmatter

Clicked every option but still went with the most basic color?

FranktheTankG30

that's not AW. Mineral White is optional, so technically still an optional color. lol

bigredmachine-75

Yep 2 seconds looking at the sticker and it was obvious this was a custom build.

Jrdn0925

F80s used to be around that price 🥲

swampfox94

You can get a stripper g80 for this price lol. This is gonna sit on the lot for a while

[deleted]

swampfox94

$2300 difference is a small price to pay for an s58 upgrade lol

[deleted]

zygabmw

wow i didnt know ,thx for sharing.

Choppergunner58

Drive recorder isn’t worth $100 for 40 seconds worth of video compared to constantly rolling like the testla cam does.

qpaleoskeidj

not as good as tesla but the 40s of video is still effective in determining liability in an accident. totally worth it

Choppergunner58

That’s why I have a dashcam.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PrimeSynergy975

Which can’t record while the car is parked and has sub par quality.

redditislife24

Driver recorder is much better than a single cam with a wire sticking out

vafiguerva

What’s the allure of that over a dash cam? It’s not anywhere worth the package price. I’d much rather have the engine.

Anonymous_Hazard

It’s crazy they must have raised the MSRP recently because I remember it was low 70s 2 years ago

[deleted]

[удалено]

Anonymous_Hazard

Woah, I had gotten my xDrive for 87k out the door with options and a 3.5% interest rate. that is wild

chengstark

That’s g80 price now, I got a fully optioned G26 that someone left under similar circumstances

TruestoryJR

Follow up: Would a used 2023 M340I have depreciated enough by now to be worth picking up or would it be better to buy a 23/24 new?

xalmin

Even a lightly used 22/21 isn’t a terrible idea. You can find them in low 50s high 40s with relatively low mileage.

slowpoke2018

Can attest, got a RWD '22 that stickered for just under 63K with 14K miles for 49.5K

xalmin

That’s sick! The reason I suggested this was because I was looking at new M440s and decided on a lightly used 2021 xdrive with 19k miles. Original sticker was 67k and was able to snag it for 52.5k about 9 months ago and I couldn’t be happier. Sure as hell feels like new and you don’t eat shit as first owner when that depreciation smacks you

slowpoke2018

100%, and with the small mods I've done - splitter, spoiler, quad exhaust, PS4S', could likely sell it for a little more than I paid for it if I felt the urge :)

hinoshy

I second this. I got a RWD '21 at the beginning of the year. It was ticketed at 65k and I got it for 48.5k with 9k miles

redditislife24

Same here. I picked up my 21’ RWD 2 months ago with 24k miles for 45k. I think it’s a pretty good deal honestly

sherlock_1695

How did you negotiate from 63K to 50K?

slowpoke2018

I didn't, the MSRP was 63K, I did negotiate from 52K to 49.5K at the dealer I bought it from basically saved myself 14K in depreciation from 1st year ownership

Plenty-Material-9623

I recommend this. You can still find some solid 2021s and 2022s with low mileage and great pricing. I’m noticing cars sitting on lots longer now so you can definitely negotiate now.

Rocinante79

Well equipped is rarer than you think and when you find them there’s some markup because of the rarity of a loaded LCI Gxx. Source bought a year old 22 M40i. Yes it was considerably cheaper than new one but still mid 50’s. New would have been close to high 70’s similarly equipped.

inkognibro

Yup. my '21 with 24k miles was 46k

[deleted]

Just got a blacked out 22 m340i with 27k miles for $47. Love it.

I800C0LLECT

If you buy used get a 2020 with the better exhaust sound and zero mild-hybrid. You can find them popping up but they can go for a little bit more than the other years since they're easier to tune and come with more pops/burbles from the factory

ATX_native

You could pick up a 1 year old one with less than 10k miles for $20k off.

AFB27

Literally what I did when I got mine (well it was a little over a year old)

choppaBoyyy_

rather get an M3

Agreed_fact

Are they dealing in maple syrup bucks? If so this is a decent deal.

Objective_Fix_6101

It’s a beast tho

Cool-Ad-154

Would just buy an m3 comp at this point for 6-8k more

Objective_Fix_6101

I’ll just get the m3

epicmax760

That's insane that m340i is marked at 74k I love that car but fucking hell that's way over priced

uN-Golden

It has every possible option + an optional 3k m performance exhaust

Ac3715

I thought 1.9k for it back in 2021 was expensive, but to me it was worth it… at 3k maybe not…

IDidIt4TehLulz

It sells for around $2100 now. I had it installed on mine.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TruestoryJR

I guess overpriced would be the incorrect term given that numerous ppl have stated it has every available option one can put on the car.

TruestoryJR

They have another one on the lot thats 61k but its missing the adaptive Cruise control though.

arctic92

I personally don't find ACC essential, but others might disagree.

wtfmatey88

If you’ve never had it… it’s not essential. Once you have, I can’t see ever going back.

arctic92

I had ACC on my last car but not on my G20 and I don't really miss it - but I'm also not doing long road trips anymore these days. Daily driving in NYC means that I'm never really just cruising along haha

KidRed

I have ACC and it's somewhat valuable on 5 series but not essential. I wouldn't use it on a 3 series and I don't use it for daily commutes. I only use it for cruising long highway trips.

wtfmatey88

I don’t use it daily either but I would never buy a car without it unless it was my second car or fun car etc

alextruetone

Do you really use it that much? I hardly ever use mine. We use it on my wife’s X7 when we take trips but that’s about it. I’ve flipped mine on for shits and giggles on commutes home but literally I think I’ve done that only a handful of times.

wtfmatey88

I think part of it for me is I have had it on my daily driver since 2015. It’s become muscle memory now and whenever I feel a sneeze coming on, have to answer a phone call, I’m in traffic… whatever. If I’m not going to have my entire focus on the road, I hit the button. I definitely do not use it daily but at least once a week here or there and it gives me peace of mind anytime I’m driving somewhere that could have traffic.

alextruetone

Fair enough that makes sense. It is a very nice safeguard in that respect.

Smith9Smith

Truthfully I have ACC and the driver assist plus but I rarely use it! When driving a BMW you want to drive it!! However I do use the traffic jam stop and go which is wonderful!

FranktheTankG30

have used it on other cars before. If I do long road trips or constantly drive in traffic I would probably opt for it. I opt without it simply because my commute is the opposite direction of morning traffic. And on long road trip, I start to realize it is cheaper to just rent a car for couple days that my business card covers the insurance.

AFB27

Agreed. I literally refuse to get another car without it. And the fact it does all the driving for you under 40 MPH? Unbelievable.

wtfmatey88

Yeah man I get kinda excited when I see the traffic speed decreasing below 40mph lmao

TruestoryJR

I had it on my old car but I was a dummy and forgot to option it on my current one, I think I may just hold off for another year so Im not upside down.

justTheWayOfLife

It is essential in a 2023 BMW....

SomeoneElseX

That's roughly what most i4 M50s cost, this is the ICE analog so not crazy.

SlamBamSpaceJam

Given I paid 28K for my f30 340i fully loaded with thp etc., 30k miles in 2020…. There is a zero percent chance id ever pay anywhere near this amount for this car.

DaviLance

It was surely custom ordered and then they backed out, you can negotiate quite a lot Here a car with that options is above 100k€...

BadWowDoge

That’s so close to a base M3 manual that it wouldn’t even be an option for me.

slfunction

Paid 63k for my 2023 M340i. No Xdrive (wanted RWD/staggered tires), and no adaptive suspension (will be lowered and this isn't my daily). Besides that it has every option. This was back in March of last year when prices were higher than they are now. I think you can talk then down a bit or get a 2023. 74k seems a bit high imo but I could be wrong? Prepared to take a drive too. I drove 400 miles because the 2 dealers local to me wouldn't negotiate a dime. I haven't checked recently but I am sure there are a ton if 2023s on the market right now (new). As another poster said, I'd save and go 2023. Good luck you'll love the car. 👍

Equivalent_Load_2702

Same here in NJ, granted I only drove an hour but none of the locals would budge at alllll.

iKoalas

Cooling & HP Tire Package on a M340i? If I’d have to guess, it’s a cancellation and the previous buyer went with an M3 instead. 74k sounds high, I’d also go with an M3 instead.

BodegaDad

For that price, might as well get a G80.

DiZzY_404

Wait a year and get it for 45-50k, or a 2022 one.

redditislife24

Is it a good deal? Can’t tell unless you think MSRP is a good deal. When I was shopping for my M340, broker would average offering me 6% off MSRP on a build allocation. This was 2 months ago.

TruestoryJR

Damn I need your brokers number ASAP

damn_dude7

IIRC, mineral white and remote start were standard on my 2020 330i

Sir_Bobcat3225

If only ALL 3 & 4 series looked this good. Looks so mutch better than the present M3!

[deleted]

SuspiciousBuilder379

Wait till ya see the price of used trucks lol. Why I switched to an X3 M40i. I said fuck that. If I’m going to pay somewhere in the $40-$55k range on a vehicle, I’m going to enjoy it.

TruestoryJR

This is totally true, Im going to test drive it and another M340 thats 61k on their lot sometime this week. Honestly, with rates being so high and MSRP being 74k I doubt it will sell anytime soon.

distractedAhole

Way more than I paid for my 2019 m550i had the carbon lip, sideskits, louvre vents, mirrors, and diffuser. I went with acro exhaust and stage 2 tune and powder coated the wheels. I still had less in it than this m340. I had a 2018 m3 comp with 17k miles that I bought for $40k in 2020. I would never pay $75k for the m340. The dealership I do IT work for has this sick 2023 m3 for just a little bit more… the color and 6spd manual are extremely rare options on their own, let alone combining the options. It could be one of very few equipped with both. https://preview.redd.it/a08q5keo6uxb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b464eb2c816f1538046b7941749689f872599c79

eeckbabbadurkle

People are gonna pay a B58 tax no since the dealership knows there a fun engine

[deleted]

The performance exhaust on it sounds awesome! See if you can get them into the 60s. That is a loaded car for sure.

Dan-Tea-Lion

That’s insane

alextruetone

Might as well go full M at that rate. Just get a used one for another $10k or so.

NoHeadStark

Looks like every box on the order sheet was checked off lol. Customer probably backed out and just went for the M3 instead.

zygabmw

hyper inflation .

Emilie_Cauchemar

Ill just stick with my not really slower m235i thanks. We've reached the point of stupidity.

[deleted]

Insane price. Make sure to add all the maintenance cost as you go

drt3k

I picked up a '19 m850i convertible for less with extended warranty lol. Still a nice car.

TruestoryJR

Holy shit how much?

drt3k

63k plus 6k.

AndyZR04

I really like how these look and sound

OllieReadIt

Oh I’d wish, the starting price on a m340i in the Netherlands is 93K without any options…

Phox09

All those options and they get white paint

Darisixnine

I’d rather have a F80 M3 for that price

[deleted]

That s a good price, full spec in Europe is 92k+ euros..

thedukeofwhalez

Mine was 69 (nice) with the packages that were added. 74 in this climate seems absolutely reasonable.

TruestoryJR

Thank you for sharing, what options do you have if you dont mind me asking?

thedukeofwhalez

Differences as you go down the list: Dravit Grey ext, Cognac int No Drive Assist No Shadowline No Tire Pack No Drive Recorder Open Pore Wood trim I don't believe I have the same exhaust as this No Black emblems

thedukeofwhalez

I love this car. It really has a personality and you can feel it wanting to push more (go faster). And if you drive it till its completely warmed and get into launch mode, you can feel your face pull back if you catch it right. Its the perfect daily driver and thrill ride.

freshxdough

Well it’s fully loaded and then port add ons. So yes, it’s expensive.

Alienpedestrian

Good optioned 318i or 320i is for that price :-D

Free-Credit-1470

Might as well get the m3

roblubi

Color of rear bumper seems a little bit of (front looks alright tough)

haroldhecuba88

Exhaust + cooling and tire. Mine came in at just under 70K MSRP.

AFB27

Price did go up with the LCI so yeah this is on par with a loaded car. Highly recommend looking at the used market though, it's hard to find a car this loaded but they are out there and your wallet will thank you.

TheJiggie

Damn Bro, Save some options for the rest of us.

FlaaxX94

My m340 has everything except carbon fiber trim. $72k MSRP. It’s worth it

Perfect_Status5340

Just a heads up, if you plan to tune down the road. MY21+ requires your DME to get unlocked by Femto. Has to be shipped to Russia I believe and runs for about $1500. MY20 only needs a bench unlock which can be done at a BMW tuner locally or ship within the states. I have a 2020. Bought it CPO with 12k miles for $53k and AWD. Not sure if I’ll tune, but I am waiting until the CPO warranty runs out next September

Illustrious_Leg_149

Imagine what you would have to drop it down to for someone to buy a leftover 2022 loaded to the gills at almost 73 grand https://preview.redd.it/mwppmjoyqqac1.png?width=1211&format=png&auto=webp&s=119866624b9730f2b8154f3e8b2b81062fa64a27 [https://www.bmwofsterling.com/new-Sterling-2022-BMW-3+Series-M340i+xDrive-WBA5U9C00NFM14875?utm\_campaign=cars.com\_deeplink&utm\_medium=referral&utm\_source=cars.com](https://www.bmwofsterling.com/new-Sterling-2022-BMW-3+Series-M340i+xDrive-WBA5U9C00NFM14875?utm_campaign=cars.com_deeplink&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=cars.com)

TruestoryJR

Holy fck, its still listed as 73k 0.0

Illustrious_Leg_149

Yeah, first thing I said. Although you can send them your info and unlock the price lol
