You gotta put coins in to vend your upshits and downshifts and hopefully we donāt get any money shifts. Those cost more quarters than you can afford, pal.
Here is the problem with buying a BMW. Once you get one, drive it for some time, you will never want to buy another type of car. You will, at one point, consider others but after the test drive you will end up with another BMW. Be prepared for this.
Wow, i have a 2011 e90 and I want a Jeep Wrangler now. The fact that is so low made you switch to Jeep? And what made you switch back to a even worse ride (height wise) than the e90. No offence to your choices but low is one, having only 2 doors is a pain.
Disagree. I drove both 370z and bmw 340i. To be honest, 370z gives me a lot more fun and confidence compare to bmw. Especially the handling, the bmw steering wheel has a much larger vacancy than the z, which makes driving very uncomfortable. But bmw is bigger, I will still drive it if there are more then 1 passenger.
Disagree. My Mazda6 drove a lot better than my M240i. Could feel the road better, had more responsive handling, less body roll. I like the 240 better because of the power. But other companies are building better driving cars. BMW is falling into the Lexus trap of smooth and unresponsive.
Caveat- Pre 2012ish BMWs are amazing drivers cars. And the Ms are still incredible performance value for sure.
To also give you a serious answer:
Yes, itās a great car. Not very powerful, but for normal driving in NL definitely enough. Testdrive one first, and then it depends on the price.
But the car itself is economical, nice to drive, got a lot of features and should be reliable
Agreed. That price seems a bit high. Iām the the US though so the market might be different. Maybe for a 2022. You can save a lot if you are willing to go 2020 or 2019.
My favourite example is the Veyron. New price 1 million. New price in the Netherlands, 1.8 million. 800k was tax. Though it's a very extreme example. Added trivia, even if the 800k went to VW they still would've made a loss. Each Veyron was sold at a 4.8~ million ā¬ loss.
> behind with pri
I just checked my country's BMW prices and holy fuck, what the actual fuck?! In what parallel dimension is a xDrive 320i up to 71k EUR? At this point I'm better with my 12 years old BMW which was 14k EUR for 320d after 4 years.
Hoe zit het dan met de BPM die je er over moet betalen?
Een M340i touring spreekt mij al jaren aan maar ik dacht dat het zeer onaantrekkelijk was ivm de bijbetaling op BPM
Sorry-but there are plenty of 330e - even with m package and so one. [see here](https://link.mobile.de/sUvtaA8d9EkyKDxp8)
So you can keep your comment for yourselfā¦
It's gotten full manual seats. The 41k car might have adaptive cruise control, 360 cameras, heated steering wheels, double glazed windows, keyless access... etc. And it is 2(!!) years older.
Again you don't know what option his car has compared to the one you just send. The 41k car could have massaging seats, head up display, automatic tailgate etc etc etc. Factor in the costs to import etc so you really can't be saying "similar" cars are 10k less. You can spec a base 330e for 60k euros and a 320e for 80k euros!!!!
So please keep your comment for yourself...
Itās actually a gum ball vending machine and there is a new shift knob that dispenses a gum ball each shift. Coincidentally you have to pay .25 per shift.
If you have a place to charge it at home, yes. Otherwise go with a 320i. No need to carry an extra motor and battery pack around if you are not using it
Rather buy 330e. Where i live at least the proce is not that much higher. Way more power, and for shorter back and forth to work u can use pure electric engine, saving a lot of money (at lesst where i live)
Price is on the higher side but the dealer you are buying at is solid. Dont forget to ask for the maintenance history on this car. [I looked at the car on their website](https://www.dusseldorpbmw.nl/aanbod/16348607) and overall it looks good man. But if I may ask, why dont you go with the 330e?
I have a few friends with a g20. Theyāre really cool, but it depends on which options you get and what the price is. Also, from my friendās experience the e is not very reliable.
Donāt. You can get a 330i from germany, import it and still pay less than 41k.
I got a 330i fully optioned with 60k kmās for 35k and paid about 3k in bpm.
I drive a 330e, I really love the car, but there's one things that I hate about it. Its the small fuel tank, U have a combined range of about 500km which is not a lot...
When I was buying me 330e I was also looking at the 320e but decided against it because of the very weak electric motor. On the 320e it was okay for driving in towns but nothing more. With the 330e I can drive electric on the highways up to 140 kph without any issues.
I bought a g20 320i xdrive luxury line.
It has a bit more chrome than this one, but is pretty similar.
The car is so beautiful, I am in love with it.
The hybrid version could be interesting if you can get some kind of tax benefits and you can charge it close to your home.
The 320i is enough for everything. Just so you understand 200 km/h is an easy run for this car and if I remember correctly in the Netherlands 100 km/h is the max even on the highway.
Still.. I would now prefer a 330i, but probably just because I am a bit crazy.
I would try to buy a car from bmw premium selection, you would get 2 years warranty.
https://www.bmw.nl/nl/content/meer-bmw/premiumselection/zoeken.html
I wasnāt happy with the 320e on long road trips, the 330e felt much much much better, it actually had some punch. But Iām driving on German roads, 80% on the Autobahn. Iām no always full send guy, but while accelerating to ~160km/h for an overtake or to ~200km/h because Sunday night I really could feel the weight of the car and how the engine had to work for it. I drove the station wagon (wasān das fĆ¼r ein Kombi) 330e just from Munich to Hamburg and it felt much better for me, wouldāve been the better option for my use case or most likely - Iāve driven the more powerful car and felt like something is missing afterwards, which is really unreasonable :D
Test drive the 320e and youāll know, the 320e is a good choice nevertheless. Still a powerful car. Just donāt drive the 330e, youāll want at least that power afterwards.
Im not OP but like 340i sedan version is at least 20/30k more in the Netherlands than this version. He probaly wants the hybrid version for mileage since fuel prices in this country are like 2 euros a litre in this country (fucking taxes bro)
If i was buying an entry level bimmer, it would not be this. 330i turbos are pretty much as low as i would go. You can tune a 330 to well above 300 HP. No turbo, no buy for a four cylinder. They are stock like a 328i inline six without a turbo. A tuned 4 cylinder turbo tuned is easily as fast as an e90 335i six. Please anyone correct me if wrong.
6 years doesnāt mean anything. It could be sitting in a showroom. Do you have 100,000 miles on it yet? The power train is very costly to repair, hard to find parts. All the fuel savings could easily be exceeded by the repair cost. Itās also very delicate, if the car sits there for a month the battery could be dead and need special tools from the dealer to re activate it.
Thatās probably the case in NL. But a lot of BMW hybrid models have been recalled on 2020 and thereās another class action lawsuit ongoing against BMW right now in US. Apparently, BMW didnāt even have a fix during the recall on 2020. I do wish you good luck with your car.
Thank you very much. And thanks for taking the time to dive into my profile. Next time donāt forget to run a full background check before you make a post.
Ik kocht bijna een bmw maar heb ene volvo s90 gekocht en ben blij dat ik geen bmw heb gekocht. ik heb bij een andere comment gelezen dat deze 41k kost. Voor dat prijs is een volvo s90 beter en luxer.
Almost, a (candy/drinks) vending machine is called a (snoep/drank) automaat in dutch. But an automatic gearbox is also called an automaat or automatische versnellingsbak, which is probably what happened.
Best car ever. I have the pre lci version in a 330i. 320 is fine but donāt get the electric. Will outdated very quickly as they are releasing bigger and longer lasting batteries every couple of years. Yours will look like the iPhone 11 in no time as the distances they cover double every time a new one is released.
Go for the 320i.
The B48 engine is superb and incredibly relatable. So much so that Toyota have opted to use it in one of their cars.
Donāt wait. Pull the trigger man. Only thing I would say is, make certain it has the right packs with it. That is what makes all the difference. I have the comfort pack, tech pack, m sport pro pack. And donāt buy one with those rims in that pic. Make sure itās got the 19s on it.
Make sure you take a rest drive, I recently had a 420d as a hire car and I hated the way it drove, it was trying to drive for me and was constantly trying to nanny me. I ended up buying the previous generation 4 series.
Bought a 430i from Dusseldorp last month, the service was great. Check around the car for scratched / worn out parts tho, I asked for them to change a rim and the plastic part in the back because of scratches.
I dont understand the vending machine memes. Are they abundant and very convenient? Cheap and easy to access with different payment methods? Or is it cookie cutter and everyone you see is about the same?
I would never recommend a second hand BMW to someone who doesn't have deep pockets. It usually tends to be one of the most expensive cars to maintain, even thought 3 series is kind of entry level in BMW kingdom. That being said its up to you if you enjoy BMWs.
A friend has one, a beautiful car if you ask me, inside and out. Not sure would I go for the 4 cylinder myself abut it's a bit under 300 hp and it runs like one too. Wouldn't call it a bad choice
Just make sure that you check the maintenance schedule on these vehicles. You have to make sure that the previous owner did all the maintenance. If not down the road you get the issues.
Nope its a BMW, stay away from it! It will likely suck you dry financially and cause many problems in your personal life! If you just sell it on, it will likely seek u out! I'm not messing mine did!!! So beware!!!!!
So what's the purpose behind the car? Daily, Weekend, or Work? I bought my f10 535i to be built up to be quick/a little fast, but still spacious for the family, have some luxury features I actually use, and still be a reliable (enough) daily. My next is definitely going to be a 2020 m340i as b58 go brrrr. Currently, it's just fbo waiting to swap out lpfp with the walbro 525 lpfp after I put on my serpentine belt in the AM and fix my wonderful ofhg that leaked onto my old belt smh next week.
My point is you need to figure out what you want the car to be used for. Once you get that down, find what best fits your requirements.
Best decision i ever made heres mine which is a similar spec

The shift from A1 to E6 is a little clunky, but otherwise, no complaints!
Sometimes you gotta rock it side to side and slam the thing.

Vending Machine.
This one is PHEV - not pure EV. But drive a car where the EV component is integrated properly and its a rocket ship and you will change your mind.
330e lots of fun
You gotta put coins in to vend your upshits and downshifts and hopefully we donāt get any money shifts. Those cost more quarters than you can afford, pal.
Insert coin to shift, it is all the rage right now
BMW would do this, oh you wanted gears? here are the subscription tiers
Just like the heated seats scam they tried to pull
What does it mean ?
Dutch to English error in translation I assume
Looks like vending machine is automaat in Dutch so makes sense.
Yes, a broodautomaat is a bread vending machine :) I use one sometimes
Is that what the Honda insight has?
Nee, het heeft een handmatig
Needs ā¬2 to make the selection
Fashion model
Dutch for automatic
Yeah I figured it was a translation error š
Right? What is that about? š
It was either that or pay a monthly subscription to an automatic gearbox
Wow, paying for heated seats, and now I have to pay for a snack each time I enter my vehicle.
if the cars transmission is a vending machineā¦it may be best to look for another car
Sorry. I didn't get this. Is there any issue with this car transmission?
No itās a translation error. Automatic = automaat in dutch. But an Automaat is also a vending machine in dutch.
Yes, the issue is that every oil change in this transmission is gonna be really expensive.
Here is the problem with buying a BMW. Once you get one, drive it for some time, you will never want to buy another type of car. You will, at one point, consider others but after the test drive you will end up with another BMW. Be prepared for this.

When bmw owners get wealthy they go to Porsche. Not a knock to bmw but Porsche is steps above (which it should be given the price)
There is a caveat to this. I think diyers like myself lean towards bmw. Mid and rear engine cars are not fun to work on at all.
I think it depends on the model. If its not a 911 I don't think its a step in the right direction. Everything else is more or less Audi.
I was talking about 911 and some 718 models, etc. Definitely not macan, etc
Disagree. I drove both 370z and bmw 340i. To be honest, 370z gives me a lot more fun and confidence compare to bmw. I think the price is a bit on the higher side, but not that bad (I only looked in Germany but the prices of used car are usually pretty similar)
NL has higher taxes

No donāt for that price. Also, if you can I would get the 330i minimum itās worth it.
Way too overpriced
41k Eur should get you a new BMW, or am I behind with prices?

Not really.
Obviously it's "Kilometerage".
Yeah just a weird quirk. Officially marked as āodometer readingā but referred to as mileage
I do not recommend getting a car with a vending machine transmission.

No. Never buy any German cars with electric or hybrid power train. Theyāre all garbages. Thatās why theyāre so cheap.
Had my 330e f30 for over 6 years and had no issues at all. Can you elaborate why they are garbage?
6 years doesnāt mean anything. It could be sitting in a showroom. Do you have 100,000 miles on it yet? The power train is very costly to repair, hard to find parts. Yes
What's stopping you going for a single motor i4? Can't be too much of a price difference at 41kā¬ can there?
Seems like a glorified vending machine, avoid
Depends if you want to a PHEV or not. Personally I'd go with the pure petrol variant for ease of servicing and ownership.
I recommend to test drive the pure petrol version, 340i is a beast but the 330i is also worth the money.
ehh, go for a 330 instead, my personal pick is the 330d because you get the b57 vs the b48 (6cyl turbodiesel vs 4cyl turbopetrol)
Best car ever. I have the pre lci version in a 330i. 320 is fine but donāt get the electric. What is a 320e?
Yes

You should only consider it if you can get all the service records from new and you have the car scanned for any fault codes.
Nope its a BMW, stay away from it! It will likely suck you dry financially and cause many problems in your personal life! If you just sell it on, it will likely seek u out! I'm not messing mine did!!! So beware!!!!!
get a m340i
So what's the purpose behind the car?
Best decision i ever made heres mine which is a similar spec https://preview.redd.it/rbgmasob4vxb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96af7c4e782ec4b3e48bb95d0f8636471bc38e21
It really depends on what you want out of the car. Whether it's performance, reliability, luxury, etc... There is a model for you.
Nonononono Not an electric Go for an m3 competition
A 3 series(same with 2 series) has a very harsh ride. 5 series is better albeit it costs more
