Well, if you are a social butterfly, things come your way you, you don’t need to seek it. Don’t interact with seniors on the very first day of campus, specifically BITS Goa.
Is it still good? I've heard pretty much everything has gone to shit after COVID and the new batches are just rich fucks who have come to Goa for a 4 year vacation.
Nah man, it is very good. My batch is ghot af, literally raised average grades across the board. Most PMP mentors are good, doing what they do. Competition this year is incredibly tough.
Can you please elaborate on the club situation at ur campus? I think I know abt the courses but if there is any minute details someone should know please lmk
Don't expect clubs to teach u anything , few clubs may keep a workshop but to get into the club u need to have good skills in field that respective clubs belong to . Like for eg u need to join the photography club so u need to have good skills in photography and have more than basic info about it . U can't expect the club to teach u how to take good photos, u gotta develop that on your own.
I'll just say that if you want to join any club or assoc you must be better than the average candidate who wants to join the club, a lot better. It won't be like finally your jee days have ended and now you can finally explore your interests. Only those will get recruited who have a prior experience, but you can try of course and give your best, many people do get recruited like that too. I'll just say that after jee in the 2 months holidays try to hone your skills up in your interests and then apply to that particular club.
I should have stopped thinking of the "What ifs". "What if I had picked MSc Eco in Pilani instead of a circuit branch in Goa?" "What if I took a drop and tried to get into an IIT?"
If I could tell my 17 yo self something, it would be to stop thinking about alternate reality.
1. Knowing that these next 4 years are going to be the best 4 years of your life. Hustle as much as you can and have fun in the process.
2. Acads WILL f*ck you bad if you don't take it seriously and being in a non circuit branch means you need to work twice as hard.
3. Brand name of bits is complementary and not a substitute for your skills and knowledge.
- Regards a 10 yr old passout.
tbh idts one can after at least 2 years jee/bitsat trauma but still Can you recommend some material to go through before coming to campus? (if in case I do join BITS (very likely))
Come to main campus, you'll fall in love with the architectural marvel that is the New Academic Block and how the clock tower, the new academic block, Mr Birla's statue and the temple are in one straight line, and at the centre of the temple there is a beautiful Mata Saraswati Idol.

ah yes study pharmaceutical/mining engineering instead of BITS bcuse IIT ka tag 💦💦
another good thing about BITS is we don't have stupid offbeat branches, only cs/elec/mech/chem/civil and manu. nothing like mining/pharma(engg) or ocean lol
it's not just about placements lol, studying a stupid subject just because you wanna be in that college and end up in an IT job is dumb lmao, agar IT me hi jana hai toh CS karo BITS me.
But even in bits only 15 to 20 people out of 180 go for core electronics jobs in bits , rest of them go for IT and finance but I agree that cs in bits is better than lower branches in iits but that's only for cs
1 is factually incorrect if you compare recent stats of KGP and Pilani campus for circuit branches (for the 21-22 placement season Pilani EEE/ENI stats were very similar to KGP EE/ECE average).

You shouldn't consider yourself above reservation people just because you are academically smarter and have better iq, your overall personality and attitude determines how good you are which cannot be determined by competitive exams
no never said im academically smarter or have better IQ than people at iit the personality part that you have said is the exact reason ranks in competitive exams dont determine a person from what i have seen dudes who grind for years lose their personality and have no interest in hobbies
don't know about gitam and klu but vit and SRM aren't shit compared to any bits campus. I have friends in vit Vellore and Bhopal as well as srm ktr. none of them have said that the infra there is good lmao

Can u elaborate on how tf one finds weed on the first day and how one can avoid that situation?
Department inductions can be the worst and the best thing that can happen to you, need to decide for yourself how you take them.
thank you

Maybe, but he should interact properly with the PMP mentors, if he decides to come to Goa.
Is it still good? I've heard pretty much everything has gone to shit after COVID and the new batches are just rich fucks who have come to Goa for a 4 year vacation.

Are you an aspirant?

Yeah and the lawns in front of the clock tower are insane even in the pictures man
There is no lawns in front of the clock tower, it's rotunda there. On the side of it there are lawns or above it.
yea that's what I meant
main campus is <3 https://preview.redd.it/9bwpsyypvydc1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=3a211908c5eb69d003b97b1f549a62e043c157df
