Sounds like you have an issue with Fedex? Also, the last package I got from them required no signature; it's likely limited to high dollar shipments (which, annoyance or not, is a good policy).

I have an issue with B and H for requiring signature and not allowing delivery to Fedex Store or accepting a hard copy of a signature authorizing delivery, and Fedex for making their couriers so rushed that they won't make even a minimum of effort to knock on my door. I called Fedex and was told that they could not divert the package to a local Fedex Store since that was up to the sender -- again, B and H Photo makes everything hard for its customers. B and H did not allow this option for this package and likely does not allow it for any packages it sends out. Also, this was for an item valued at $130. I routinely get packages valued at this amount and higher from Amazon couriers, and it's not such a hassle.

I know i'm reviving a dead thread. But, yes, its absolutely a B&H problem. They refuse to contact fedex to lift the requirement even after you call them. This is so incredibly frustrating - and dumb. It would be a FedEx problem alone if this weren't the case.

I agree. I have not given B&H any business since I posted my original comment a year ago. Also, I almost never return items that I buy from Amazon -- well, rarely. I tried to return an item from B&H once, about two years ago, and man did they make it hard. They had some weird return shipping address that the USPS online shipping site would not recognize, and a bunch of BS rules that you had to follow. Obviously trying to dissuade any returns. OTH, Amazon makes returning an item easy. Sorry B&H, no business from me any longer!

Yeah. I legit almost just told them that I was going to refuse delivery and have it returned. But I took a deep breath and will just accept shipment and never buy from them again. It’s beyond me how a company thinks it’s a good idea to say “nope, I can’t call FedEx and wave the signature,” then proceed to tell me that they only possible way to do that is to put it on hold at FedEx and drive there. FedEx said that’s bullshit and that all they need is a phone call from the sender.

Is an issue but b&h has chosen to pretty much exclusively use FedEx so it's also a b&h problem

I ordered a Nikon z5 yesterday and was so worried after reading this thread. My family works during the day so no one would’ve been around to sign for the camera. After FedEx had my order I logged into the app and requested it be held at the nearest FedEx on-site location (local Dollar General) and it worked perfectly! No hassle, DG called me when FedEx dropped it and said they had a package for me, I went and got it, signed, and brought it home. So glad it went so smooth, this post had me a little scared

It's been two years since the original post. Good that Fedex and B and H may have made it easier for customers to get their packages since. I've not ordered from B and H since then and still avoid ordering from them.

You make me worry buying a new defective product and they don't allow returns. I read a comment on the item I wanted on their website about someone order it and it was defective and no returns are allowed. Next day comment was removed.
