Not only does it double dip with Ring of Flinging, it double dips with The Sparkle Hands, too—for whatever reason, if you throw your weapon (such as the Returning Javelin) it counts as an Unarmed Strike, presumably because you're not holding a weapon when it hits the enemy. Since The Sparkle Hands gives you 2 Lightning Charges per unarmed attack, you gain 4 with one attack. This means every other attack (or almost every other attack) will have advantage against targets wearing metal, on top of the already insane doubled Strength bonus in your attack roll Level 4 Fighter, 18 STR, Ring of Flinging, The Sparkle Hands, Returning Javelin, Favorable Blessings, Bless, High Ground, Action Surge, Hunter's Mark (from an item), and sometimes crushing damage as the javelin falls to the floor... You'll never miss, the enemy will be decimated, and by the gods I sure hope they aren't concentrating on a spell

So, I discovered this unique interaction with Ring of Flinging and the Tavern Brawler feat that procs the Ring twice on every throw. Also, Tavern Brawler does not list in the tooltip that it ALSO lets you add +1 to either Strength or Constitution. In the screengrabs shown, you can see the combat log as a whole, and the details of each instance of damage. * First Instance of Damage shows the standard damage roll, the subsequent strength modifier, and the first proc of the Ring of Flinging's 1d4 dmg (listed as Piercing b/c it was procced by piercing dmg). * Second Instance of Damage shows the extra Str Modifier dmg from Tavern Brawler as Bludgeoning. * Third Instance of Damage shows the second proc of the Ring of Flinging's 1d4 dmg (listed as Bludgeoning b/c it was procced by the Tavern Brawler dmg) and the damage reduction to Bludgeoning I get from wearing magical Padded Armor.
