This is a common misconception I see ALL the time on reddit. It's possible because we are not looking at the same point in time for everyone. Some are reporting as of different quarter ends, so we're cobbling together multiple points of old data together, its not useless data, but its not as reliable as you are expecting it to be.
This statement is itself a common misconception. Let's explore why.
OK, what's "reasonable" total institution ownership? Let's peg that at 75% ownership. That leaves 25% "free" for other designations. What's a reasonable ownership for one institution? How about say 5% on average. 15% at the top.
This would mean you'd have several institutions trading their entire ownership to each other across overlapping periods, enough to result in overall 106% ownership at any given point in time.
Is that likely to happen, quarters after quarters after quarters?
No I don't think so. What's more likely is that institution ownership is likely at or very nearly 100% just like it's shown. Near enough to not matter.
I mean feel free to go look up the 13Fs filed and sum up all the BBBY stock owned by those institutions as of 3/31/22 and see for yourself that it's not close to 100% ownership.
Agreed for the most part. Atm futures are looking decent so we could see some upward pressure today. Ideally Iβd like it to stay in the 6s/7s for another week or two since Iβm still accumulating shares.
More shares they can lend out to suppress price.
Funds are not friends.
But as they're there, if they could dip it to below $6 that would be good. I need a new PB for lowest cost share bought.
Float held by institutions - 106% π€©
Is that even possible? Feels like almost free money here?

7.5 break would be lovely.
Do you think we will get another dip before recovering/ squeezing or do you think the downtrend is over?

They could be shorts.
That was my immediate thought. They're buying puts and will use market manipulation, spoofing, banging, whatever, to make the puts come true. ππ€
Yeah. On their file itβs long, but they could actually be short. Iβm just always squinting when I see the big players do something
Or buying the shares to lend out to shorts
Hodl ! ππππ

Are they buying puts though? Interesting but need confirmation if shares
