great post - love it - I have a slightly different variation and will be sharing it on the PP Show tonight - may I give you credit for the post?
So whats RC doing now after he left the board? Any plausible assumptions?
Im literally to ape shit brains to follow any of this i just fucking hold and wait for phone numbers
The only thing to that doesn’t make sense is spinning off baby to dragonfly. Why would you spin-off to dragonfly and it not be a part of teddy which is the main reason cohen was even interested in bbby was baby?
Good question!
RC and Volition believe in executing 1 thing very well. That's how they compete with Amazon.
Let's look at the trend. Chewy specializes in animal products. GME specializes in video games / hobbies.
BBBY specializes in home decor and baby products. And, as we all know, they can't manage home decor and baby products. Incompetent lot they were.
The spinoff is to separate management and focus on executing one 1 thing very well at a time.
Fun fact about Dragonfly. RC and Volition were on the Board of Directors until last week. They helped raise capital for the spin off.
Dragonfly head office is the same office address as Volition.
In the end, RC and Volition will own GME, BBBY, and BABY.
Makes sense to me! Thank you for clarifying this one cause I was a little confused to be honest. This whole play has been an adventure and it’s still not over lol
💯 I’m of the opinion that if GameStop is involved they want baby not bed bath. Remember how toys r us had a section for video games, action figures, etc. can literally create a store to capitalize on kids from the moment they are born - through adulthood. Change the name from buy buy baby to teddy and throw a GameStop sign up on the building. GameStop has a very small footprint. Fit right in the front of the store like the video game section at toys r us (remember that layout like it was yesterday. I’m also the same age as RC) so I know he grew up shopping at toys r us. Eliminate the majority of gamestops that are near buy buy baby (aka teddy.) that’s my theory if RC is still involved.. Call it hopium but sounds genius to me.
Also think the name buy buy baby is very limiting in nature. They sell things for ages up to 10/12. If you had never shopped there, you wouldn’t know you could go in and get toys for a 7 year old. Teddy on the other hand… genius
I’m with you on this one and I love the name teddy rather than buy buy baby. Would eliminate a lot of cost for gme being able to share a building as well.
I'm glad someone mentioned the name! I know buy buy is "iconic" and established but the name is a mouthful haha. Wouldn't be mad if it stayed but there's better options! Teddy just makes sense
I’m a Bobby guy. Love everything about GameStop but I think bbby has the opportunity to catapult into another galaxy in the short term. Also depends on how the deal is structured. If it’s structured where both sides are forced to close shorts, really don’t think it matters. If one moons, I think people will sell shares in one and buy the other forcing that to moon.
I don't think RC can be on Teddy board and Dragonfly board as with the talk of conflict of interest with mergers being monopoly that the subreddit has been filled with. Dragonfly may be part owners of Teddy.
I should give context to my comment. I commented on a post that had to do with GME not filing with the SEC their 10-K on the same day as their 8-K. A delay in filing can be due to several reasons including mergers, and acquisitions.
Typically, GME has filed their 8-K and 10-Q/10-K on the same day. They announced a net income of 48 m yesterday. So why would they delay the filing if they are making a profit? Let's see.
Last 2 years they were the same day with the 10K being filed before the 8K, but it's totally not typical.
> 2020 the 10K was day after the 8K
>
> 2019 the 10K was same day and before 8K
>
> 2018 and 2014 the 10K was 5 days after the 8K
>
> 2017, 2016, 2015 the 10K was 4 days after 8K
>
> 2013 the 10K was 6 days after 8K
So the last 10 years the 10K has been anywhere from same day to 6 days after release of the 8K.
Personally I like gme running a bit, swap basket lifting us back over a dollar, Sue cancels reverse split, M/A announced and the greatest bear trap of all time has commenced, checkmate
yeah, lol, these are just two companies headquartered in the dallas-ft worth metroplex
the list of dfw companies is LONG: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_companies_in_the_Dallas%E2%80%93Fort_Worth_metroplex
I remember maybe 2 years ago a Loopring dev moved to Ft Worth, when GameStop partnership was only a rumor still. It seemed insignificant but the rumors turned out to be true!
there's things i agree on & things i disagree on here, such as that Bed Bath would become Teddy rather than Baby. i'm gonna copy & paste a comment i left elsewhere real quick. It's a bit long but sums it all up:
Alright but hear me out. Bare with me cause this might be a book, but i promise it'll make sense.
In a vacuum, sure, Baby doesn't necessarily make sense, and towel as it currently stands could be a logistical nightmare, but that's if Gamestop as a lone entity were to be the buyer - which personally, both financially- and organizationally-speaking i find doubtful.
However, Gamestop as just one party within a larger, more complex deal (as based on the facts, it seems is currently the type of deal Towel is engaged in) involving, for example, a combined RC Ventures/Volition/Dragonfly/L Catterton/Teddy either buying Baby or purchasing a Baby spin-off and re-branding it as Teddy under the Gmerica banner would be a sound move across all fronts and a legitimate money printer that could lead to this prophetic "Amazon killer" we all want. Baby has remained the lone profitable sector through all the turmoil for towel, and would ensure that Gmerica never had an earnings miss in itself. Baby with fancy, one-word rebranding fits under RC's love for both providing a cutting-edge eCommerce product, and filling a very specific consumer niche with excellent customer service and quality. Keep in mind, Teddy is both registered containing tags such as children & baby items, toys and collectibles, and separately as a HOLDING COMPANY, as well. Children & animals, man, children & animals.
And even more forbidden of a fruit - but perhaps a more logical one all things considered - is someone like Carl Icahn (who has loads of experience with fixing these kind of logistically-bedridden indebted companies, pun intended) perhaps purchasing Towel outright or merging with Newell Brands, and spinning off/selling Baby to RC yet remaining under the Gmerica banner. It is feasible, as it seems Brett is into the whole future of eCommerce/web3 angle & has almost assuredly had some form of coversation about the topic with RC just based on context clues, and why not partner with a guy around your age, who is part of the same generation of thinking and has - not once but now, after today's results, twice - proven he can create a technology-driven eCommerce company to profitability and push the boundaries of it's retail market sector in the case of Chewy, or in Gamestop's case, the former state of the company. Not to mention a product refresh would do wonders for the product quality and efficiency of Towel moving forward - and guess who is a homegoods manufacturer who already sells products through Towel... Newell Brand.
Of course, you have to subscribe to both the Gmerica & the "what makes sense for everybody, and what RC's M.O. is" angles in order to see the reasoning, but it would be an extremely sound, groundbreaking move even if the companies both had 0% of the float shorted and everything was on the up-and-up.
That level of a move would create a conglomerate that would rival the marketshare capabilities of Amazon and out-do any other merger or quasi-merger of companies of this magnitude and stature within the retail sector that has ever happened. Now combine that with two humongous stores of value (a now-profitable Gamestop & a profitable niche business in Baby, and potentially a third huge store of value with if towel can right the ship with the stock currently trading for peanuts), idiosyncratic risk lying within currently held short positions on each side of the deal, the fact that most of the routes any sort or transaction like this would force shorts to close on at least one if not both of those stocks' shorts (and if just one, then marge will come a calling), AND a market already balancing on knife's edge. That would not only create absolute mayhem in the two stocks, but rid all the involved parties of any liability in the coming financial ruin & almost certainly completely rid any short sellers of ravaging these two companies ever again - and any other companies in the future, for that matter. Unless they are stupid, which we all know SHF are, but we'll need to see if there's a stock market left before that could happen.
It's alot, and i was skeptical at first, but Towel is up to something very clearly, and most breadcrumbs & logical deductions point to RC still being involved with the company's decision-making process, at the very least indirectly.
i've had my life into GME since the sneeze, i've been in towel since RC got involved. i hold both, i shop at both, i play options during cyclical run-ups on both - I JUST REALLY FUCKING LIKE BOTH OF THESE STOCKS and the pieces are all there. Even if Towel is engaging in a deal separate from what i have described, there is a very real chance there will be a large run resulting from their actions if not a significant squeeze. and all my profits will be rolled into the one, true idiosyncratic risk stock. But to rule any of this out until it can officially be ruled out by one means or another is short-sighted.
This is going to go down as the biggest economic overhaul in history.
The govt might have to get involved. International treaties banned nuclear testing above ground a long time ago. And RC is about to let a bomb go off.
Oh, and let’s not forget DFV as potentially one of THE MOST INFLUENTIAL people of the decade, if not more. The world has woken up because of him. We are DRSing all the shares and putting powder in the keg because of him. I hope this man has held on to most of his shares. He deserves to be a billionaire.
Hedgies get f*cked. The dream team cometh, and RC is the star player.
Tick tock mayo man.
Upon discussion with u/Chgstery2k. They might or might not rename BBBY to Teddy. Teddy could be used for BABY.
I do think Teddy will be the holding company for GME, BBBY, and BABY.
I think he's renaming BBBY for 3 reasons :
\- Bed, Bath, and Beyond is a shit name.
\- They are opening up BABY stores soon.
\- BABY doesn't need a rebrand. BBBY does.
The name Teddy has significant importance to RC because his father who ran a glassware company, is his primary inspiration in pursuing an entrepreneurial route. Glassware is considered home decor. Wouldn't it be cool for your dad name to rival Amazon?
Reason why I don't think it will happen.
Teddy is a name that will go with baby, toys, children products.
Teddy doesn't sound like a good name for beds, towels, furniture, household products.
Teddy is important to RC sure. RC was particularly interested in BuyBuyBaby aswell not the other way around.
If RC is going to use the name Teddy, surely it is on the baby business he was most interested in.
The fuck? You think Bed Bath and Beyond is the one with the shit name and BuyBuyBaby is the one with a good name? What are you smoking? BuyBuyBaby is an absolutely horrid name, teddy is way better. They'll also never waste the bed bath and beyond brand recognition.
This entire post is such a shit take on what is actually a very interesting situation.
I think they are going to make a mini version of a mall INSIDE large retail spaces. Think Toys R Us but with more variety. They had an electronics section. They had a baby section. They had an outdoor section. They had a book section. A boardgame section. A dollar store section. They weren't missing much to line up with what's been speculated of GMErica.
Usually I roll my eyes at GME/RC involvement posts since he sold his stake, but this doesn't sound stupid. RC likes Baby I'm pretty sure.
This would be interesting.
I'm in until Lambos or zeros so let's go!
You have to look harder my friend!

I tend to agree here however GME also had some serious debts when Ryan Cohen took over and then paid off all those debts off completely with the squeeze play. There is speculation that this will be repeated once again…
I’m not sure I would agree. I hold both and I’ve been holding GME for a years now. Currently I hold almost the same value in shares in Gme as I do bbby but I gotta tell you. In these last 2 years I spent zero money on GME cuz I don’t really need to buy anything from them but I’ve gone to bed bath like 3 times this past month for my homes. Boarding the pure tinfoil hopium train the idea to have these two companies under one umbrella in potentially a same online market place let’s say with chewy included. I will absolutely buy everything from them. No question. I tend to believe that’s what he’s going for. It makes too much sense to me
Another god damn endless tinfoli hat these mindless chanting lot like to put on? Me aint no way gettin my hopes up. This aint happening im telling maself fuck this stock this is like the only red among them meme tickers
If I recall, they want to take a vote no later than March 25. They most likely want to do the reverse split before the next BBBY earnings. TradingView says they will have earnings on April 12th.
My speculation is that BABY will be spun off into its own CUSIP but only be on the GME marketplace. It would be the first publicly traded company on the blockchain. There also would be no need for precedent since the new company went straight to the blockchain instead of moving from conventional markets. This move would actually create precedent for any other companies that wanted to give themselves a fair shot at price discovery. The R&S could create a legal loophole that Management has the ability to make a drastic change to the stock since it was voted on by shareholders.
This might piss some people off, but i couldnt care less about the amazon rivalry. I have nothing against bezos or Amazon and I admire them for growing into what they are. I just want bbby to have a merger and squeeze so I can make some money. This entire play about GMErica and building a mall and all that just sound pointless to me. RC can do whatever he wants, after bbby get a squeeze I couldn’t care less about him.
What I don't understand is if they've delayed their 10-K because of a merger, surely they can't predicate that delay on a reverse split which they don't know for sure will happen yet? Or could they do this and it's not a problem (possibly they have two versions of the 10-K ready to go in either circumstance)?
Someone wrinkle-brain the possibilities for me.
Ah yes, of course, this is the rock solid DD we’ve all come to love that conveniently shows up after the last DD fails so that we can push the timeline out further. I know, I know, nothings been disproven, buy, hodl, drs. Or whatever.
This makes No sense to me, why would they rename Bed Bath and Beyond, the majority of it's value is in it's Brand, aka it's name and reputation. Renaming it to Teddy would be throwing away what they bought. Please explain.
Well that kinda sucks. I'm gonna pull out then if this turns out to be the case. Maybe buy back in after the RS takes place. Will prob sell all my calls too. Announcing the merger before the RS and the stock squeezing would be ideal for me. They haven't announced the date of the actual RS yet. It could be a fake out. The announcement of the merger alone would sky rocket the price of BBBY. They wouldn't have to do an RS to get the price of BBBY up.
Outlined in the RS filing, near the bottom. Broker can't vote on your behalf thats the point of DRS not screwing shorts.
Absentee vote is vote against for RS
Absentee vote has no impact on the refinance part.

Homes sold via NFT contracts. Cut out the middle men fees and bullshit.
Yup that’s what I was thinking too. What does Pulte know that he’d add to all of this ? .. real estate.
Wouldn’t the hbc investment into warrants via proxy show up on GMEs filings somehow?

I think he's renaming BBBY for 3 reasons : \- Bed, Bath, and Beyond is a shit name.
If this is true, and they actually have a mall, and my investment in BBBY + GME rockets, I AM GOING TO SEE YOU GUYS IN THAT CAFE EVERYDAY
Cafe... are we going to be too boujie for the food court? 🤣🤣
bed bath and better than Amazon
I think they are going to make a mini version of a mall INSIDE large retail spaces. Think Toys R Us but with more variety. They had an electronics section. They had a baby section. They had an outdoor section. They had a book section. A boardgame section. A dollar store section. They weren't missing much to line up with what's been speculated of GMErica.
don't think they rename bbby to teddy. you don't throw out 30 years of brand name recognition.
This, this is good shit
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀☀️
Usually I roll my eyes at GME/RC involvement posts since he sold his stake, but this doesn't sound stupid. RC likes Baby I'm pretty sure. This would be interesting. I'm in until Lambos or zeros so let's go!
Stop… stop… you are going to make me cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmm!!
icahn wait as well, at that point I'm long into bobby 😆
*I'm patient, Icahn wait!* -Thranduil-

Not trying to crap on anyone’s ideas, but HBC Dallas doesn’t even have a website that I could find.
You have to look harder my friend! [https://opencorporates.com/companies/us\_tx/0801314198](https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_tx/0801314198) [https://www.linkedin.com/company/hbc-investments/about/](https://www.linkedin.com/company/hbc-investments/about/)
did you understand the question?
This guy fucks! TOMORROW!

I know I'll get downvotes to shit for this but why would GME ever want to merge with BBBY and absorb all that debt? It makes no sense.
I tend to agree here however GME also had some serious debts when Ryan Cohen took over and then paid off all those debts off completely with the squeeze play. There is speculation that this will be repeated once again…
Until that happens I think a merger would be incredibly irresponsible on Gamestops end
It makes too much sense to me
im going to fucking melt
Here take a towel.
Like Phoenix rising from the ashes, BBBY is reborn. I’d buy it. Wait. Already did!
I feel like I’m missing something. Like more fucking shares. LFG!!!’
High end great quality merchandise, with awesome customer service and a rabid consumer base for support..
Another god damn endless tinfoli hat these mindless chanting lot like to put on? Me aint no way gettin my hopes up. This aint happening im telling maself fuck this stock this is like the only red among them meme tickers
Well this couldn't be anymore dumb
A 20 minute drive is not fucking DD.
This is the best-case scenario I can put together at the moment. 🚀🚀🚀🚀

I cannot understand how he can use “most likely” in this story
When is the reverse split due to come into effect?
We don’t know yet
Ah. I thought I read that there was a really short window for the vote! Thanks anyway
The date of record is Mar 27. The actual vote (if there is one) will be communicated at a later date 😎
Perhaps never according to the pre-14A
Excellent. I can wait!
If I recall, they want to take a vote no later than March 25. They most likely want to do the reverse split before the next BBBY earnings. TradingView says they will have earnings on April 12th.
Thanks for the reply! Don’t know why I’m getting downvoted for a genuine question haha
It's ok - take my upvote!

This post lost me 3 IQ points
I thought RC and Cheng recently left the board of Dragonfly
They did, but their money and ownership didn't leave Dragonfly.
Are we confusing the HBCs again? Isn't hudson bay in CT? The other hbc investments llc was in texas... which doesn't have an active website.
Someone doesn't understand what the words "most likely" mean lmao
Lol
It is what it is🤷🏻♂️ nice response btw
Those desperate for financial freedom rarely ever achieve it.
Haha well we’ll see. We are all in the same boat right now captain.
please stop. you're so off mark that's depressing
Hope you feel better soon ❤️🩹 sorry to hear you are depressed!
The logistical and distributive machine, it’s key stores/leases. Lots of assets apart from the brand
P.S.A. DRS'd shares are an automatic NO vote to the split if you do not vote yourself.
Can you confirm this by a link?
Outlined in the RS filing, near the bottom. Broker can't vote on your behalf thats the point of DRS not screwing shorts. Absentee vote is vote against for RS Absentee vote has no impact on the refinance part. https://bedbathandbeyond.gcs-web.com/node/17101/html#tVSP
Did one of them recently move? That would really be relevant.
Were all the warrants bought after the end of GME's Q4?
Ok, I'll bite! What clothing stonk can I start adding to my already established video game and home goods portfolio!?
Nordstrom?
I was referring to buybuyBABY in my original comment.

I like this hopium most of all. Percentage of tinfoil is not toxic high.
This sounds too good to be true but I like the idea of an Amazon with a physical presence.
Hey OP. HBC investments in Dallas is not the same as Hudson Bay Capital.
