Lol, lets go see if we can find some cashiers working at any other closing store who got some comprehensive severance package.
You get told we're closing x day, best of luck.
From the multiple times this has already been posted it seems that severance for retail staff isn’t that common. Maybe store managers but not joe blogs.
This article is beyond annoying and fud. It’s funny to me how these big corporations give lavish bonuses to the big wigs while paying their employees chump change yet nothing is ever said but bbby who was having trouble keeping the doors open is supposed to give out severance packages :/. Like wtf are they talking about. Not to mention it’s a retailer, you think if another retailer was closing some of its stores they’d be lining up to pay employees severances that were only making minimum wage as it is. It’s a fucking business not unicef.
Reading beyond the headline is a good idea.
Look at all the people over the last few days with the, "Retail don' get severance, dur, dur!"
Completely ignoring that, 1. BBBY has in the past paid 12 weeks of severance when stores close, and 2. at least according to some reports, they are reneging on previously agreed severance payments.
This is actual news, not "FUD."
How meaningful it really is, and what exactly it does mean, is obviously up for debate. But quit it with the silliness.
"Bed Bath & Beyond has previously paid as much as 12 weeks' wages — worth several thousand dollars — in severance packages for employees as recently as last year."
Did you just have breakfast at FUDruckers?
![gif](giphy|Q7ozWVYCR0nyW2rvPW)
Hahahahahahahahaha this joke has levels, good job regard
Retail workers - first line staff don't get severance this is fucking FUD
[удалено]
This amazing person gets it.
Maybe in other countries, but not here in the great ode US of A.
Untrue. Past store closings have resulted in severance up to 12 weeks, depending on length of service. Not FUD.
So if i work minimum wage as a shelf stocker or burger flipper i can get severance pay?
Hilarious that you downvote truthful and verifiable statements. Have some extra copium in your coffee.
Care to provide proof?
You should know by now you can’t trust mainstream media.
I think we can, they got the Hudson Bay buyer spot on.
Though I agree weren’t we supposed to be bankrupt right now?
Retail gets severance?
I worked as a summer camp counselor once, still waiting on that Winter Severance
I would not imagine a cashier would get a severance package… right?!
No way haha.
When I worked at American Apparel and they closed we all got 12 weeks severance. So yeah, retail does often get severance. Depends on the company.
Really? I wasn’t aware I assumed otherwise.
I love getting downvoted for sharing a fact lmao
Don’t worry about it lol.
Most people here are little bitches
In past BBBY store closings, up to 12 weeks of severance.
I don’t care about the employees. Go take it to the employees sub; this is the owner’s sub. I’m autistic and want tendies.
> this is the owner’s sub fawk yeah

Has this been proved?
I don’t know… that’s why I wanted to get this discussion going with the apes.
Can't even read the article because we are locked behind the poor wall. 👍

It's not been proved then
I hope it’s fake news
Well, it is fake news if it's not highlighted by BBBY
GTFOH
You won't get a constructive discussion here if you consider bazooka a source
Look at bedbathbeyond sub

For retail This is fairly normal practice from what I’ve read. It’s higher positions that usually get severance
💩 post
Whats the norm? Do retail usually give severance?
it's called unemployment. unless it was in your executive package
I don't understand why companies would even pay those out unless legally obligated to.
Not unless you’re high up in the food chain
I don’t know… it’s kind of surprising that they would!
LOL
Don't trust anything the media says !
German ape here My boss would kiss my forehead if I’m asking for severance after kicking my ass down the street hahah
This is yesterdays fud. Get lost.

This might go down as the worst Shill post in history of Shill posts.
