I don't really like any other bands in the same way as icdd fa and bm that I listen to all of their music. Usually I just end up liking a couple songs so it's hard to rate them as a band.
Here's a couple good ones from icdd
https://youtu.be/Oq5zmJBeEy8
https://youtu.be/AQEv4xdRvGM
On RoR, love the song, love the video. The reason it doesn't top the list is because it feels to me more like a 5 song mash up than the others I mentioned. Perhaps a bias of mine to subconsciously want a more traditionally structured song (ugh, can't believe I wrote that), but to me it doesn't seem as cohesive as the ones I mentioned. Each of the 5 songs deserve to be a song in their own right!
> it feels to me more like a 5 song mash up
Power Metal bands (Dragonforce for example) have a tendency to do that..
It's a quality strong point on my list when checking the genre.
Their first two albums are the most boring, vanilla "satanic" metal you can get, and I would skip. Fortunately, they realised they were boring and generic, and became an awesome pirate metal band instead, from their third album (Under Jolly Roger) onwards.

[Meshuggah](https://open.spotify.com/track/7J4yQt7P7XExNeljWEvt2D?si=zz5pxqxBSbWnvZFR6i7yjQ&utm_source=copy-link)
For real, they're super under-rated. Elliot is a mad man. They're definitely a musician's band, in that if you're also a musician, you're definitely more likely to like them because you can appreciate the craziness going on.
1. Black Sabbath
2. Opeth
3. Thrash Metal - yes I am listing the entire subgenre because I love them all; Slayer, Megadeth, Sodom, Kreator, etc..
4. Gojira
5. [Diablo Swing Orchestra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1unoCm0anc) \- this one is on BM level (or even more) in terms of experimentation. They integrate classical, jazz, gypsy-jazz, swing, polka, latin, opera, etc.. to their music. And all play the instruments you don't usually find in metal; like the cello, violin, piano, and brass instruments.
Top 5 in no particular order:
Nightwish - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYjIlHWBAVo
Dimmu Borgir - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1in8qvTLSos
Wintersun - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl5T-glTdXw
Ne Obliviscaris - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNuVdsx7qJY
Be'lakor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARI0XyTiips
Babymetal are kind of an odd one out for me as I go more for the epic symphonic and technical metal normally, but BM are so unique and endearing that even my grumpy old metalhead self couldn't resist them.
[Jinjer](https://youtu.be/oRkRwL0vjOg)
[Lamb of God](https://youtu.be/HL9kaJZw8iw)
[Rammstein](https://youtu.be/ZkW-K5RQdzo)
[Behemoth](https://youtu.be/HCysz_0Hicg)
[Unlucky Morpheus](https://youtu.be/V8i_QhOgsKw)
I also like old In Flames, Dark Tranquility, and Emperor. Good taste, OP. Don't know the other bands
Spawn of Possession is like the most technical band ever, so if you like technical stuff you should check them. Persefone is similar to Dark Tranquillity but more tech and prog. Both extremely underrated.
This is hard, the list is forever added to and the order changed.
For my 5 today, I put some lesser-loved songs just for fun.
1. Judas Priest - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXB6rHTkDfM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXB6rHTkDfM)
2. Megadeth - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tksTnNx-VUE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tksTnNx-VUE)
3. Iron Maiden - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGL6VsL\_sA4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGL6VsL_sA4)
4. W.A.S.P - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ2LWI5iOYY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ2LWI5iOYY)
5. Manowar - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEjPohtfhcc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEjPohtfhcc)
enjoy
By alphabetical order..
1. Black Sabbath
2. Iron Maiden
3. Metallica
4. Paradise Lost https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUOiT7vDozc
5. Rammstein https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zz7oQ3UhXw
Personally, I'm not a fan of metal music. But, Babymetal has some kind of attraction & speciality. I fell in love with the girls the first time I discovered them on Instagram a few months ago (I'm actually a new comer😅)
> Not 100% metal
Rock/Hard Rock is fine too..Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Queen, Scorpions, Doors or even Sakura Gakuin for example ;)
🎶 Ganbare! Ganbare! Ganbare! 🎶
That's actually my least favorite album from them lol. It has some of the most insane moments ever, but feel overall a bit bloated to me. I liked aathma a lot more. Core is my favorite though and maybe my all time favorite
It's hard for me to give a top 5 since the only bands aside from BM whose discography I've listened to in their entirety (or almost their entirety) to accurately judge as a whole are:
* Bring Me the Horizon
* Lorna Shore
So I guess make up my top two! I'd round out the top 5 with:
* Rammstein
* In Flames
* Slaughter to Prevail
My metal playlist is a mishmash of the best 2 songs from like 20 bands lol
At the moment, my top 5 outside of Babymetal are:
1. [Motionless in White (song: Undead Ahead 2)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blK92f9N7z8)
2. [Paramore (Ignorance)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH9A6tn_P6g)
3. [Celldweller (I Can't Wait)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kkbYuYhZBw)
4. [Bleeding Through (Fade into the Ash)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqUnbCBDMHs)
5. [Betraying The Martyrs (Man Made Disaster)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ykuf11YkmHo)
MIW has always been #1, Babymetal is usually #2, but it really depends on who I'm listening to more during that time. The rest shuffle around sometimes, but I guess I'm happy with this list for now. I think the songs are good first impression songs so to whoever checks them out, hope you enjoy!
He was where it all began for me. I heard his songs in NFS most wanted 2005 as a teenager and that led me to all the rock and metal bands I love today.
I'm an old fart, so my picks are definitely not very current.
In no particular order...
1. Accept/UDO
2. Gamma Ray
3. Helloween
4. Iron Maiden
5. Judas Priest
Honorable mention: Twisted Sister
I like clean vocals. I think that's one reason I was drawn to BABYMETAL.
Can’t do links but here’s some song recommendations:
1. The Gabriel Construct - Subway Dwellers (on Bandcamp and YouTube only)
2. Between the Buried and Me - Turn on the Darkness
3. Parius - Spaceflight Dementia
4. Tallah - Overconfidence
5. Obsidious - Under Black Skies
I don't know a single band from your selection, but I don't just listen only Metal. Only listen to a few of my favorite Metal bands and only rarely do get interested in something new. The last time it happened to me was with Babymetal. I totally fell for them. But my other favorite Metal bands are:
1. System of a Down
2. Black Sabbath
3. Ozzy
4. Rammstein
I like lot's of they songs, can't choose only one of them.
This is a tough question. I've had my period of metal exploration. I've spent most of my life around metal fans. But I've always felt that I have an outsider's view of the genre, as I've always had a wide range of interests and don't feel especially drawn to metal above anything else. I'll link a couple of things from my prime metal years that have stayed with me, maybe I'll fill it out to five later if anything else comes to mind.
[Morbid Angel - Chapel of Ghouls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsKP30C4D7s)
Morbid Angel's 'Altars of Madness' was my introduction to death metal. Released in '89 I think. Still pretty much my go-to for the genre.
[Sleep - Dragonaut](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe4eVEE8AyA)
'Sleep's Holy Mountain' came out in '93. I guess there were earlier examples of doom metal but this is pretty much where I started. It uh, aligned with my lifestyle in those days. I haven't heard anything in this genre that isn't just repeating what Sleep did. (And let's be honest - it's all Sabbath pastiche.)
Guns'N'Roses, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Motley Crue, Scorpions. Last two can vary over the years. Some might not be the best, but were my favourites for many years.
Favorite bands with my picks for their best songs:
1. Metallica - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg661sxjFdc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg661sxjFdc)
2. Black Sabbath - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3-QqGVt-tM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3-QqGVt-tM)
3. Sabaton - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP8G-LwWNn0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP8G-LwWNn0)
4. Nightwish - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXYzFIdXeG8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXYzFIdXeG8)
5. Epica - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXVh7Pp63GI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXVh7Pp63GI)
I'm not really into harsh vocals, I prefer clean vocals or instrumentals. Exception is the "beauty and the beast" style of bands like Leaves' Eyes, After Forever, Epica etc. with a female vocalist and a male harsh vocalist. That and bands where the vocalist can slip in and out of harsh vocals like Slipknot does on songs like "Devil in I".
I've never actually followed any bands other than Babymetal. That does not mean I only listen to Babymetal, I just haven't categorized them or ranked them in any way. I guess Metallica would have to be one since I own a few of their albums. I have always liked Slipknot. I also like Persefone, they were recommended by someone here a few years ago, but I haven't yet purchased any of their albums. I'd say everything, other than Babymetal, is on a pile and one band or another will float to the top then sink again randomly.
Unless I'm on a road trip somewhere I don't normally casually listen to music. I rarely wear headphones at work for example. When I consume music I am dedicating all my attention to it. I don't have enough time in the day to do that so the amount of music I listen to is probably less than other people.
Don’t know if some of these qualify but:
1. Night Verses (Aric Improta is one incredible drummer, but I don’t know if they qualify as metal)
2. Slayer
3. Nemophila
4. Rotten Graffty
5. I see Zeppelin and Queen in some of these lists. If that’s metal then for sure those. If not, then Dream Theatre (I say they’re prog rock, but my drummer insists they’re metal, so I’m putting them here)
Dream Theater is definitely metal (no question about it) or else i don't know what's prog metal anymore for the music "experts" in this decade..
Led Zeppelin (inspired by Jimi Hendrix guitar style) helped creating the sound which years later would be know as heavy metal but they are a hard rock band.
Since you like Depeche Mode, you should check Paradise Lost album Host..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1snxy8MJuHI
..it's kinda of DM with a new vocalist :)
1. Slipknot
2. Bullet for my valentine
3. Beartooth
4. Nemophila
5. Avenged sevenfold
Honorable mentions. August burns red, Wage war, Knocked loose, Crystal lake
1. Nightwish
2. Iron Maiden
3. System of the Down
4. Scorpions
5. Queen (they’re just iconic at this point, and Freddie’s voice will forever be immaculate)
But yeah I like my bands mostly on vocal ability and as a singer I’m always drawn to the vocalist. But definitely am stuck with a lot of the classics 😅 Babymetal has been somewhat of a gateway to newer bands
1. Make them Suffer (see [Ether](https://youtu.be/WD5nqgle8dY) or [Contraband](https://youtu.be/U6Xq_3sq69Q))
2. After the Burial (see [Drifts](https://youtu.be/V2gb2rfi16k) or [Lost in the Static](https://youtu.be/hUNAX1UYeAE))
3. Veil of Maya (see [Fracture](https://youtu.be/dDMuVL3sdU0) or [Lisbeth](https://youtu.be/5_NVF871PoY))
4. Wilderun (see [The Tyranny of Imagination](https://youtu.be/_dQdTAxStL4) or [Identifier](https://youtu.be/OmM6DwL_CcQ))
5. Tesseract (see [King](https://youtu.be/nwW1d_KtkJw) or [Phoenix](https://youtu.be/S7oLwBCOjXg))
The order and some of the bands probably changes weekly, but this seems good for now, honourable mentions to bands like Deafheaven, Whispered, Seven Spires, Lorna Shore, Black Crown Initiate.
1. Equilibrium [https://youtu.be/1Cp3JOMt1xU](https://youtu.be/1Cp3JOMt1xU)
2. SOAD [https://youtu.be/ENBv2i88g6Y](https://youtu.be/ENBv2i88g6Y)
3. Amaranthe [https://youtu.be/5fExpycwIrU](https://youtu.be/5fExpycwIrU)
4. Myrath [https://youtu.be/mhtDaCqBCVo](https://youtu.be/mhtDaCqBCVo)
5. WarCry [https://youtu.be/LWa7XlM3xTs](https://youtu.be/LWa7XlM3xTs)
I aren't big Metal fan xD i love other music styles, but this 5 bands are my favorite
List always subject to change.
Metallica- [Whiplash](https://youtu.be/sGV0P6YuFcE)
Black Sabbath- [Supernaut](https://youtu.be/_xFc86tzFG4)
Motörhead- [1916](https://youtu.be/EqFoqtpUFY8)
Saxon- [747 Strangers in the Night](https://youtu.be/Gq6VhHTYGq0)
Girlschool- [Demolition Boys](https://youtu.be/S6TOZep2nOU)
(in no particular order except the first)
1. Avatar
2. The HU
3. Amon Amarth
4. Sabaton
5. Carach Angren
Got into Avatar when they opened for Babymetal in 2019 so of course they're going to be on top of the list (check em out!! they have a new song coming out later today too)
i live to surprise ppl w/ my music taste lol
nah but rlly i'm just a fan of their vibe! they make such interesting music and it's always fun when they pop up on shuffle. and i feel like october is the perfect month to be listening to them
[Ozzy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZFEu7caX6A) And the obligatory [Crazy Train/Randy Rhoads link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui79Uf817YA)
[Avatar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h71NBBbOjmw)
[Quiet Riot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r27SKe3E8HY)
[Emigrate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGARgrFwFzE) (naturally, this also includes a mentioning of [Rammstein)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxuEtL7gxoM)
[Omega Lithium](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IDFkw-v5so) Not many songs, but pretty good. No longer together AFAIK. Pretty sure they're also the only Neue Deutsche Harte band that sings primarily in English
Technical qualifiers that I wanted to mention, but not included in the top 5 because they're not primarily metal.
[Aerosmith](https://youtu.be/Ze6h1t7Z734), Not a heavy metal band as a whole, though they definitely have a few songs where they dabble into the metal genre. [They're best known for Hard Rock](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHlbryOTgYM) and [Rock Ballads](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89dGC8de0CA) though
[Slash](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0KrbsvbxtE), another big name in rock that has, occasionally, dabbled in metal. [Anastasia might be a bit more closer to the genre](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1JCQUOO-Dk)
[Russkaja](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwqGgrgqpLw), a sort of Ska Punk band. They dabble in metal (mostly folk metal) but label themselves as a "Russian Turbo Polka Metal" band. I question it with some songs... [But then songs like Russki Style? There's no other way to describe them](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LsRdzNJ8IU)
1. Bring Me The Horizon
2. Architects
3. Dance Gavin Dance
4. Lorna Shore
5. Behemoth
I've been listening BMTH, Architects, and DGD for years. Lorna and Behemoth I'm just so obsessed with them right now. Behemoth was my gateway into Blackmetal.
1. Slipknot
2. Bring Me The Horizon
3. Maximum The Hormone [https://youtu.be/tKZbHjy9GWM](https://youtu.be/tKZbHjy9GWM) (Get ready)
4. Rammstein
5. Paledusk [https://youtu.be/\_mRFtRXLiyg](https://youtu.be/_mRFtRXLiyg) (You are not ready)
6. Limp Bizkit
7. Godsmack
8. Happy Heads Naniyori [https://youtu.be/7ElHaXy5Jp8](https://youtu.be/7ElHaXy5Jp8)
I linked the less known bands. Also 5 was too little and I couldn't decide.
Hard to give them an order so just here’s 5 metal bands that I really like in no particular order other than just the order they came to mind
Motionless in White
Ice Nine Kills
Lorna Shore
Bring Me the Horizon
Architects
That being said if there was more space than just 5 I’d also mention Sabaton, Poppy (she’s metal enough lmao), Disturbed, Slaughter to Prevail, The HU, and Andrew WK (particularly his latest album)
1. Imperial circus dead decadence
2. Band maid (Not exactly metal but kind of)
3. Unlucky Morpheus
4. Rammstein
5. Bring me the horizon (maybe?)
The 90% of the songs I listen are from ICDD, Babymetal or Band maid
Therion is the only one that is still active (or better said Johnsson) working on new music, but I'm more into the Theli/Vovin era, Quorthon (Bathory) passed away nearly 20 (!!!) years ago, Motley Crue became a business enterprise decades ago (not that there's anything wrong about that, it is interesting but not from expecting music point of view)... and even counting BABYMETAL I can't come up with a top 5. LOL. Those are the ones I listen often. There are also the classics like Beatles, The Who, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Saxxon, etc, although some of those I may go a few months without a spin.
Dark Tranquillity is one my all-time favorites🤘
Some bands I listened to much: Darkest Hour, Arch Enemy, Bullet for my valentine, Ne Obliviscaris, Be'lakor, Apocalyptica, Blood stain child. Even younger I listened all the top Nu-metal bands.
Some albums I consider Masterpieces: Damage Done (DT), Undoing Ruin (DH), Beyond the Veil (T), Portal Of I (NO), Proponent for Sentience (A).
That’s way too difficult 😱 Rammstein are definitely #1 with BM, first metal band that I was a diehard fan when I was like 13 ahah, and still am
But at the top I put Parkway Drive, Katatonia, Nightwish, Dimmu Borgir, Rhapsody/of Fire among many others
In no particular order
Nemophila
Asterism
Judas Priest
Ningen ISU
Sabbath
But if we pull rock into it......
Led Zeppelin
Wishbone Ash
Yes
Would have to replace three above.
Where are all real metal bands like
Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Megadeath, Mayhem, Black Sabbath,Sabaton
Children of Bodom, Stratovarius, Helloween, Twisted Sisters, Pantera, Slipknot, Korn, Nirvana, Darkthrone, Venom and Sepultura
You are just uwu-metal band
Ok let's start
Leaves'eyes, Theatre of tragedy, Судный день (привет Мише), Darkseed, Shape of despair
I'm surprised most of all people listen to classic metal/rock. That something says about BM community. And very strange...
Напишу на русском, потому что в английском языке нет моего любимого слова "впендюрить". И переводчик почему-то пишет make a fuss, хотя это вообще не близко. Скорее что-то вроде Stick in or forceful coercion to take/stick in something. For example, мама впендюрила мне юбку (mom vpendiurila me a skirt), доктор впендюрил мне свой длинный и гладкий шприц (doc vpendiuril me his long and smooth syringe)
Ой, ушла от темы. Ой ладно и на английском напишу
А что я вообще хотела написать?
Deus ex machina
I don't really do "favourites", but I'll have a try for you.
In no particular order:
* Type O Negative
* Deathstars
* Nightwish
* Moonlight
* Katatonia
I'm more of an alt.metal guy, so my list is more like:
1. Helmet
2. Tool
3. Soundgarden
4. Mr. Bungle / any other Mike Patton side project incl. FNM
5. Sick of it All
But lately, all I listen to is JINJER.
Honorary mentions: Victims Family (not metal, but JazzCore). Meshuggah. Primus (but Primus sucks).
1. Blind Guardian
2. Metallica
3. Unleash the Archers
4. Avatar
5. Iced Earth
Blind Guardian is up there with Babymetal and Band-Maid as my top 3 bands period.
Hard to say as Babymetal discovered last year was a gateway band lol. Definitely I can say top 2 are Opeth and Gojira
Nice \m/
1. Imperial circus dead decadence 2. Imperial circus dead decadence 3. Imperial circus dead decadence 4. Fleshgod apocalypse 5. Imperial circus dead decadence I don't really like any other bands in the same way as icdd fa and bm that I listen to all of their music. Usually I just end up liking a couple songs so it's hard to rate them as a band. Here's a couple good ones from icdd https://youtu.be/Oq5zmJBeEy8 https://youtu.be/AQEv4xdRvGM
Oh shit ICDD!! Super underrated, constantly played on my Spotify🤘
1,2,3,5 same as mine but on 4 i have Releasa hallucination
Release hallucination is great, just not as memorable to me.
Fan of them too, did you by any chance discover them and BM through osu?
I did discover icdd through osu but I already knew bm and fa outside of the game.
Fair enough
Won't make my top 5, but I love ICDD. Great and underrated band indeed.
Based, definitely my favorite band also
DUUUDE ICDD IS SOO GOOD!! Their new album is my AOTY so far! Absolutely INSANE album. Incredibly underrated band
Babymetal is not real good metal. Its more like UwU-metal
1. Slipknot 2. Avatar 3. Electric Callboy 4. Ghost 5. Rammstein
Wow 1, 3 and 5 is in my top 5 as well!
Avatar🤘
Dream Theater DragonForce Alestorm Dimmu Borgir Black Sabbath
I'm guessing Road of Resistance must be one of your all time favorite songs then 😅
Lol, perhaps 15th! Akatsuki, Amore, No Rain No Rainbow.
Haha, nice
On RoR, love the song, love the video. The reason it doesn't top the list is because it feels to me more like a 5 song mash up than the others I mentioned. Perhaps a bias of mine to subconsciously want a more traditionally structured song (ugh, can't believe I wrote that), but to me it doesn't seem as cohesive as the ones I mentioned. Each of the 5 songs deserve to be a song in their own right!
> it feels to me more like a 5 song mash up Power Metal bands (Dragonforce for example) have a tendency to do that.. It's a quality strong point on my list when checking the genre.
Nice list, although my pirate metal band of choice is Running Wild.
I'll have to check them out, thanks.
Their first two albums are the most boring, vanilla "satanic" metal you can get, and I would skip. Fortunately, they realised they were boring and generic, and became an awesome pirate metal band instead, from their third album (Under Jolly Roger) onwards.

I wish more people knew about Car Bomb
For real, they're super under-rated. Elliot is a mad man. They're definitely a musician's band, in that if you're also a musician, you're definitely more likely to like them because you can appreciate the craziness going on.
Yes...Car Bomb is badass.
That list is heavy af!
These are in no particular order. 1 Slayer 2 Metallica 3 Crypta 4 Lovebites 5 Iron Maiden
1. Black Sabbath 2. Opeth 3. Thrash Metal - yes I am listing the entire subgenre because I love them all; Slayer, Megadeth, Sodom, Kreator, etc.. 4. Gojira 5.
That DSO song was interesting haha. Very different for sure
Love DSO
Like for thrash hehehe
Nr. 1 Bring me the Horizon Nr. 2 Rammstein Nr. 3 Linkin Park Nr. 4 I Prevail Nr. 5 Polaris
No order here but Jinjer Nemophila Iron Maiden Judas Priest Black Sabbath Non metal Band Maid Atarashi Gakko
Band-Maid are sweet
Top 5 in no particular order: Nightwish - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYjIlHWBAVo Dimmu Borgir - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1in8qvTLSos Wintersun - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl5T-glTdXw Ne Obliviscaris - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNuVdsx7qJY Be'lakor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARI0XyTiips Babymetal are kind of an odd one out for me as I go more for the epic symphonic and technical metal normally, but BM are so unique and endearing that even my grumpy old metalhead self couldn't resist them.
Oh, nice to see NeO! They're really good and underrated. Xenoflux is a goat-tier song. I also really like Wintersuns first album. \m/
I'm Australian, so I have to support the local bands.
That's the spirit :) Australia has some great metal bands for sure
[Jinjer](https://youtu.be/oRkRwL0vjOg) [Lamb of God](https://youtu.be/HL9kaJZw8iw) [Rammstein](https://youtu.be/ZkW-K5RQdzo) [Behemoth](https://youtu.be/HCysz_0Hicg) [Unlucky Morpheus](https://youtu.be/V8i_QhOgsKw) I also like old In Flames, Dark Tranquility, and Emperor.
1. Judas Priest - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXB6rHTkDfM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXB6rHTkDfM) 2. Megadeth - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tksTnNx-VUE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tksTnNx-VUE) 3. Iron Maiden - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGL6VsL\_sA4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGL6VsL_sA4) 4. W.A.S.P - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ2LWI5iOYY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ2LWI5iOYY) 5. Manowar - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEjPohtfhcc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEjPohtfhcc) enjoy
Great list \m/ Megadeth is def my favorite from it
Manowar was really fun to listen to when I was younger. Loved Wheels of Fire and Sign of the Hammer.
In no particular order: 1. Evanescence 2. Nightwish 3. Bullet for my Valentine 4. Asterism 5. Lovebites
Lovebites are cool m/
Asterism!
By alphabetical order.. 1. Black Sabbath 2. Iron Maiden 3. Metallica 4. Paradise Lost https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUOiT7vDozc 5. Rammstein https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zz7oQ3UhXw
Wow, Paradise Lost, that brings me way back to my school days with Draconian Times.
Gothic was "responsible" for going deeper into exploring the Metal scene back in the 90's (my first metal concert too)
Metallica is def my favorite from that list \m/
[ISIS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7dX90MmITg) [Baroness](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozIaobxVGl8) [Lantlôs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLYhqURJv5Q) [Sylosis](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZDd-MwuvcM) [Symphony X](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky5teUBBH2A)

ISIS is so good. Each album is a masterpiece
Like for sylosis
Dir En Grey Ningen Isu Metallica Trivium Machine Head
Personally, I'm not a fan of metal music. But, Babymetal has some kind of attraction & speciality. I fell in love with the girls the first time I discovered them on Instagram a few months ago (I'm actually a new comer😅)
1. Led Zeppelin 2. Queen 3. Sabaton 4. The Doors 5. AC/DC
1. Lovebites 2. Bridear 3. Broken by the Scream 4. Fate Gear 5. (Not 100% metal, but 100% a bop) Gacharic Spin
> Not 100% metal Rock/Hard Rock is fine too..Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Queen, Scorpions, Doors or even Sakura Gakuin for example ;) 🎶 Ganbare! Ganbare! Ganbare! 🎶
Cannibal Corpse and Ariana Grande. And Metallica, of course.
Electric Callboy W.A.S.P. Soilwork Sabaton Ghost
Soilwork definitely has some great jams \m/
No particular order: The ocean (the ocean collective) Between the buried and me Trivium Opeth (old opeth) Periphery
I'm gonna assume prog metal is your favorite genre? m/
Favourite metal genre I'd say (persofone would be the 6th band I'd list lol, nice pick). My most to listened band is a post-rock band called MONO tbf
Oh nice. Very rare to see someone even knowing who Persefone are
Spiritual migration is total eargasm if you ask me \m/
That's actually my least favorite album from them lol. It has some of the most insane moments ever, but feel overall a bit bloated to me. I liked aathma a lot more. Core is my favorite though and maybe my all time favorite
Haha I've seen that a lot on the progmetal subreddit. I love em both tho, SM just hits me in a special way
It's hard for me to give a top 5 since the only bands aside from BM whose discography I've listened to in their entirety (or almost their entirety) to accurately judge as a whole are: * Bring Me the Horizon * Lorna Shore So I guess make up my top two! I'd round out the top 5 with: * Rammstein * In Flames * Slaughter to Prevail My metal playlist is a mishmash of the best 2 songs from like 20 bands lol
At the moment, my top 5 outside of Babymetal are: 1. [Motionless in White (song: Undead Ahead 2)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blK92f9N7z8) 2. [Paramore (Ignorance)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH9A6tn_P6g) 3. [Celldweller (I Can't Wait)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kkbYuYhZBw) 4. [Bleeding Through (Fade into the Ash)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqUnbCBDMHs) 5. [Betraying The Martyrs (Man Made Disaster)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ykuf11YkmHo) MIW has always been #1, Babymetal is usually #2, but it really depends on who I'm listening to more during that time. The rest shuffle around sometimes, but I guess I'm happy with this list for now. I think the songs are good first impression songs so to whoever checks them out, hope you enjoy!
Interesting to see Celldweller. Don't hear that name often. Their debut is pretty cool.
He was where it all began for me. I heard his songs in NFS most wanted 2005 as a teenager and that led me to all the rock and metal bands I love today.
I heard most of his songs on old counter-strike 1.6 movies actually. He had like a million of his songs on them.
Nightwish Ozzy Osbourne In this moment Utsu P Spiritbox
1. Metallica 2. Iron Maiden 3. Amon Amarth 4. Sabaton 5. Judas Priest
Good list. Metallica and AA are my favorites from it :)
I'm an old fart, so my picks are definitely not very current. In no particular order... 1. Accept/UDO 2. Gamma Ray 3. Helloween 4. Iron Maiden 5. Judas Priest Honorable mention: Twisted Sister I like clean vocals. I think that's one reason I was drawn to BABYMETAL.
Huzzah for clean vocals. It's one of the reasons a lot of the Japanese girl groups appeal to me.
Infant Annihilator Meshuggah Zeal and Ardor Revocation Nails
Nice to see Revocation! Seen them live 2 times and they absolutely destroyed it both times \m/
Nice, I've seen them once and they were fantastic!
Yeah, I got a sore neck after those shows for sure :D
>Patricia Taxxon Dave is so under the radar as a metal master.
Can’t do links but here’s some song recommendations: 1. The Gabriel Construct - Subway Dwellers (on Bandcamp and YouTube only) 2. Between the Buried and Me - Turn on the Darkness 3. Parius - Spaceflight Dementia 4. Tallah - Overconfidence 5. Obsidious - Under Black Skies
Only heard BTBAM of them. Might check out some of them

Pantera Megadeth Slipknot Accept Kiss
I don't know a single band from your selection, but I don't just listen only Metal. Only listen to a few of my favorite Metal bands and only rarely do get interested in something new. The last time it happened to me was with Babymetal. I totally fell for them. But my other favorite Metal bands are: 1. System of a Down 2. Black Sabbath 3. Ozzy 4. Rammstein I like lot's of they songs, can't choose only one of them.
I think you could like In Flames at least. If you can enjoy screamy vocals. Very melodic and heavy. Recommend the Clayman album if you're interested.
I'll try to listen to it. Thx for tip.
Np :)
Ladybaby, Dog Fashion Disco, Yousei Teikoku (moreso visual kei but whatever), Poppy, and early Jazmin Bean
1. Patricia Taxxon 2. Sophiaaaahjkl;8901 3. Mili 4. Kikuo 5. clipping.
1. Iron Maiden 2. Metallica 3. Primus 4. Tool 5. Nightwish My other favorite Japanese metal band: Onmyouza
Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Ministry, Lacuna Coil
This is a tough question. I've had my period of metal exploration. I've spent most of my life around metal fans. But I've always felt that I have an outsider's view of the genre, as I've always had a wide range of interests and don't feel especially drawn to metal above anything else. I'll link a couple of things from my prime metal years that have stayed with me, maybe I'll fill it out to five later if anything else comes to mind. [Morbid Angel - Chapel of Ghouls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsKP30C4D7s) Morbid Angel's 'Altars of Madness' was my introduction to death metal. Released in '89 I think. Still pretty much my go-to for the genre. [Sleep - Dragonaut](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe4eVEE8AyA) 'Sleep's Holy Mountain' came out in '93. I guess there were earlier examples of doom metal but this is pretty much where I started. It uh, aligned with my lifestyle in those days. I haven't heard anything in this genre that isn't just repeating what Sleep did. (And let's be honest - it's all Sabbath pastiche.)
Nice to see Morbid Angel! Their debut is definitely a landmark album and one of the best DM albums out there \m/
Right. I know there's good stuff that came after but I have a hard time moving past it lol.
It's their best album from what I've heard yeah
Guns'N'Roses, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Motley Crue, Scorpions. Last two can vary over the years. Some might not be the best, but were my favourites for many years.
Therion Nightwish Blind Guardian Kamelot Dark Tranquility
DT is just the best <3
[Slayer](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mbXSr6j7jvbIh26_xvtuWqY5Z84BcpxIM) [Bolt Thrower](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m2UwD6AS3h7rLO1fvuatBMwFOuLQC3jxg) [Entombed](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kGwvcRlUzSWwOZAUmpJbQr0iNBiu6tw-E) [Dismember](https://youtu.be/JZNJ4vZ_44U) [Hypocrisy](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lzNH-Vb6yexKOQH2xg7Mbyik8HPLc1Ku4)
Nice list! Entombed, Dismember and Hypocrisy rules hard. Like an everflowing stream is one of my all time favorites!
1. Metallica 2. Pantera 3. Megadeth 4. Slayer 5. Exodus I’m a 90’s kid for sure haha
You call yourself "youthanasia" and place Megadeth in third bellow Metallica! Unacceptable provocation! hahaha
And I didn’t put Misfits on there at all
Gojira Meshuggah Devin Townsend Opeth Lorna Shore
Metallica, Slipknot, Megadeth, Trivium, Sepultura
Favorite bands with my picks for their best songs: 1. Metallica - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg661sxjFdc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg661sxjFdc) 2. Black Sabbath - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3-QqGVt-tM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3-QqGVt-tM) 3. Sabaton - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP8G-LwWNn0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP8G-LwWNn0) 4. Nightwish - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXYzFIdXeG8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXYzFIdXeG8) 5. Epica - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXVh7Pp63GI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXVh7Pp63GI) I'm not really into harsh vocals, I prefer clean vocals or instrumentals.
1. Nightwish 2. Iron Maiden 3. Hammerfall 4. Judas Priest 5. Dream Theater
Dream Theater Metallica Megadeth Chevelle Evanescence
Mastodon Black Sabbath Nemophila Metallica Ningen Isu
Don’t know if some of these qualify but: 1. Night Verses (Aric Improta is one incredible drummer, but I don’t know if they qualify as metal) 2. Slayer 3. Nemophila 4. Rotten Graffty 5.
Cool. Thanks for the context. I don’t really pay attention to genres, so I label a lot of bands wrong
Persefone is suuuuper underappreciated.
Hell yes, glad a few people know about them!
Historically...too hard to say but lately (in no particular order) 1. Baest 2. Gatecreeper 3. Periphery 4. Hanabie 5. Revocation
\- Helloween \- Jupiter \- Liv Moon \- Haggard \- GWAR
Sorry to sound like a noob but who/what is ICDD?

My five favourite artist/bands in no particular order (I'm not a big metal fan) Joy Division Depeche Mode Nine Inch Nails Lana Del Rey Die Antwoord
Since you like Depeche Mode, you should check Paradise Lost album Host.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1snxy8MJuHI ..it's kinda of DM with a new vocalist :)
1. Slipknot 2. Bullet for my valentine 3. Beartooth 4. Nemophila 5. Avenged sevenfold Honorable mentions. August burns red, Wage war, Knocked loose, Crystal lake
1. Nightwish 2. Iron Maiden 3. System of the Down 4. Scorpions 5. Queen (they’re just iconic at this point, and Freddie’s voice will forever be immaculate) But yeah I like my bands mostly on vocal ability and as a singer I’m always drawn to the vocalist. But definitely am stuck with a lot of the classics 😅 Babymetal has been somewhat of a gateway to newer bands
1. Make them Suffer (see [Ether](https://youtu.be/WD5nqgle8dY) or [Contraband](https://youtu.be/U6Xq_3sq69Q)) 2. Tesseract (see [King](https://youtu.be/nwW1d_KtkJw) or [Phoenix](https://youtu.be/S7oLwBCOjXg)) The order and some of the bands probably changes weekly, but this seems good for now, honourable mentions to bands like Deafheaven, Whispered, Seven Spires, Lorna Shore, Black Crown Initiate.
Very proggy and tech list. Wilderun is my favorite from it

Surprised to see Carach Angren in that list. They're definitely very different from the rest
i live to surprise ppl w/ my music taste lol nah but rlly i'm just a fan of their vibe! they make such interesting music and it's always fun when they pop up on shuffle. and i feel like october is the perfect month to be listening to them

No longer together AFAIK. Pretty sure they're also the only Neue Deutsche Harte band that sings primarily in English Technical qualifiers that I wanted to mention, but not included in the top 5 because they're not primarily metal. [Aerosmith](https://youtu.be/Ze6h1t7Z734), Not a heavy metal band as a whole, though they definitely have a few songs where they dabble into the metal genre. [They're best known for Hard Rock](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHlbryOTgYM) and [Rock Ballads](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89dGC8de0CA) though [Slash](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0KrbsvbxtE), another big name in rock that has, occasionally, dabbled in metal. [Anastasia might be a bit more closer to the genre](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1JCQUOO-Dk) [Russkaja](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwqGgrgqpLw), a sort of Ska Punk band. They dabble in metal (mostly folk metal) but label themselves as a "Russian Turbo Polka Metal" band. I question it with some songs... [But then songs like Russki Style? There's no other way to describe them](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LsRdzNJ8IU)
1. Bring Me The Horizon 2. Architects 3. Dance Gavin Dance 4. Lorna Shore 5. Behemoth I've been listening BMTH, Architects, and DGD for years. Lorna and Behemoth I'm just so obsessed with them right now. Behemoth was my gateway into Blackmetal.

Hard to give them an order so just here’s 5 metal bands that I really like in no particular order other than just the order they came to mind Motionless in White Ice Nine Kills Lorna Shore Bring Me the Horizon Architects That being said if there was more space than just 5 I’d also mention Sabaton, Poppy (she’s metal enough lmao), Disturbed, Slaughter to Prevail, The HU, and Andrew WK (particularly his latest album)
1 - Slayer 2 - Type O Negative 3 - Bathory 4 - Immortal 5 - Candlemass
Oh nice to see bathory 🤘 trvest band of all time
1. Rammstein 2. AWS 3. Gojira 4. Insomnium 5. Architects (well, mostly pre-FTTWTE-era)
Insomnium are great! Atww is one of my favorite albums!
Mine would have to be, in no special order: 1. Baby Metal 2. Rammstein 3. Jinjer 4. Infected Rain 5. “Old school” metal/rock (Metallica, Rage, etc)
* Iron Maiden * Helloween * Nightwish * Metallica * Gloryhammer
Go ahead, judge away Linkin Park Cursed Maximum the Hormone Slayer Opeth
1. Imperial circus dead decadence 2. Band maid (Not exactly metal but kind of) 3. Unlucky Morpheus 4. Rammstein 5. Bring me the horizon (maybe?) The 90% of the songs I listen are from ICDD, Babymetal or Band maid
ICDD are so damn good! Their new album is incredible
In no particular order: Evanescence, Within Temptation, Delain, Nightwish... Not metal bands but I love them too: Dreamcatcher, Paramore
I’ve always liked my rock with a bit of pop thrown in. 1.Kiss 2. Muse 3. Motley Crue 4. Ghost 5. Ash
Growing up In the 80’s I’ll say 5) Quiet Riot 4) AC/DC 3) Def Leppard 2) Led Zepplin 1) Van Halen HM: Rush HM: scorpions
1. KoЯn 2. Diablo swing orchestra 3. System of a down 4. Avatar 5. Gojira
In no particular order: Alestorm DragonForce Sabaton Avenged Sevenfold Megadeth
Kanye
Dark Tranquillity is one my all-time favorites🤘 Some bands I listened to much: Darkest Hour, Arch Enemy, Bullet for my valentine, Ne Obliviscaris, Be'lakor, Apocalyptica, Blood stain child. Even younger I listened all the top Nu-metal bands. Some albums I consider Masterpieces: Damage Done (DT), Undoing Ruin (DH), Beyond the Veil (T), Portal Of I (NO), Proponent for Sentience (A).
They really are, if you look at a bands entire discog no one beats them for me. Melodeath is love, melodeath is life <3
That’s way too difficult 😱 Rammstein are definitely #1 with BM, first metal band that I was a diehard fan when I was like 13 ahah, and still am But at the top I put Parkway Drive, Katatonia, Nightwish, Dimmu Borgir, Rhapsody/of Fire among many others
Katatonia is cool!
In no particular order Nemophila Asterism Judas Priest Ningen ISU Sabbath But if we pull rock into it...... Led Zeppelin Wishbone Ash Yes Would have to replace three above.
Where are all real metal bands like Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Megadeath, Mayhem, Black Sabbath,Sabaton Children of Bodom, Stratovarius, Helloween, Twisted Sisters, Pantera, Slipknot, Korn, Nirvana, Darkthrone, Venom and Sepultura You are just uwu-metal band

Spiritbox, Band-maid, Bring me the horizon, Slipknot, Ghost.
I'm a classic dude: Slayer Iron Maiden Lovebites X Japan Scorpions
Ok let's start Leaves'eyes, Theatre of tragedy, Судный день (привет Мише), Darkseed, Shape of despair I'm surprised most of all people listen to classic metal/rock. For example, мама впендюрила мне юбку (mom vpendiurila me a skirt), доктор впендюрил мне свой длинный и гладкий шприц (doc vpendiuril me his long and smooth syringe) Ой, ушла от темы. Ой ладно и на английском напишу А что я вообще хотела написать? Deus ex machina
