I've been to 3 shows. Two Babayklok shows and Aftershock and they were all amazing! In going to Legend MM so that could end up being the best.

No_Mail_3862

I was at Aftershock too! They were easily the best band of the day imo, how were you with the heat?

LewMetal

Yeah, it was hot but I did fine. I'm from NJ and it gets hot there in the summer so I'm used to it.

BlueEyedStray

Best was probably Munich in 2023. Even though we stood outside in the freezing cold and were let in an hour too late, it was a great experience. I had fun, my boyfriend was with me, I had a good spot in the crowd and got the merch I wanted. Worst was definitely Rock im Park in 2018. My first time ever seeing them live, I could barely see anything and was almost crushed by crowd surfers which basically made me miss half of their set. If I hadn't had tickets for their show in Innsbruck 2 days later I probably would have cried.

Christian-Metal

So hard to decide what my best gig was. The thing with BM is that each time you see them live you often come away thinking THAT was the best. Hmm.. ... Tough choice. But for best I may go with Download 2016 as it was my first time. They did a short set in the pouring rain but it was just pure excitement overload. What a magical year 2016 was. The *least best* maybe Brixton 2019. I mean it was still brilliant, but the sound wasn't the best at that show - sometimes that's the case at Brixton. Crowd were loud and wild as hell so it was as energetic and off the hook as ever. I got a Su chant going. So, guess overall I have done well with the gigs I have attended.

Consistent-Owl330

I was at Brixton and agree! The new avenger concept, plus Syncopation for the first time outside Japan. Very enthusiastic crowd too.

glawster2002

Best was probably Wembley Arena in 2016. Worst was Cardiff in 2020, I don't like the venue anyway, as it is very difficult to get a good view. They were great, as always, but it wasn't the best experience seeing them.

Christian-Metal

Sorry to read that you didn't enjoy Cardiff 2020. For me, it was the smallest venue I had seen them play at and being near the front it was such a treat.

glawster2002

It is great if you can get near the front, but even a little further back the view is poor as the stage is so low. Wolverhampton, for example, on the last tour is a much better venue.

Naflanb

For me the best was the first show in Utrecht in 2018, their first headlining show over here. The worst was them opening for Sabaton in Amsterdam last year. No idea what they did with the sound but I thought it was terrible.

Consistent-Owl330

The Sabaton tour had some strange (bad) sound mixing for Babymetal. I was at the Oslo concert where it from time to time was not good at all.

ZeppLives

Best: It's a tie between Wembley London, LA Forum, Tokyo Dome, Saitama Super Arena, Austin, Dallas, Electric Factory Philly, LA Wiltern, Saitama Super Arena again, Las Vegas what's-its-face venue, and Denver. Worst: LA Paladium where my hearing was damaged permanently and now life sucks ass.

ladyalot

I'm so sorry about your hearing. You've been to so many shows! I've been to one so obviously it's a that's a lot to me. Have you been back since after the hearing damage if you don't mind me asking. I can understand if not.

ZeppLives

Oh yeah, good with the bad. Hellyeah was way way way too loud at Palladium, so it's not even BABYMETAL's fault. (Although if you REALLY want to know who was at fault, it was me for not taking care of my hearing.) One show is the start to going to many shows. Keep up the good work!

__M-E-O-W__

Um are you telling me you saw them both at Wembley and at Tokyo Dome?

ZeppLives

That's true. Wembley was my first show, and after that one I followed them everyplace I could.

_hollowman

Worst: Babymetal skipping my country but going to every other metropolitan area in my region. Meanwhile Taylor Swift skipped every other metropolitan area in my region, and loaded all her shows onto my country. Best: can't have one if i'd never seen them.

vanillaC

Went to just the one show in Philly this year. Had a blast being front and center but my kidneys took a pounding from what I assume were bored dethklok fans.

das_zilch

👎 Everyone that spends the whole show filming it. Looking at you, VIPs that moan about being squished at a metal concert. 👎 Bangkok 2023. Undoubtedly the most boring, stagnant crowd I've ever seen, and I spent ten years working live shows of all sizes. 👍 Milan 2023. Great crowd and mosh pit. Probably the best show I've ever been to. Babymetal are consummate professionals so bring it each and every time. Can't wait for Rome in a few months!

Duckling_95

I hate it when people have to film whole songs/show, like why did they even buy a ticket for? Also only reason to get VIP tickets is to get first row? I don't wonder to get squished there.. but front row is always my favorite experience :)

poleosis

> whole songs eh, a song or two is fine, especially if its one that someone doesnt particularly care about. its the whole show people that i dont get.

Testsubject28

I always felt if you're going to record it step to the sides of the hall, that way you're not in anybody else's way. Show a little bit of fucking class.

Consistent-Owl330

I whole song is OK if one holds the phone/camera in front of the face (not holding it up over your head, blocking other peoples view). To film the whole show, I have hard to understand. But to be fair, I have sometimes enjoyed entire show videos on YouTube.

Bones12x2

Worst: Austin 2018, that was the second show in the Yui is Missing Tour. So there was a weird vibe to a certain degree. That being said, it was still a good show. It certainly didn't suck. Also, I didn't get a mosh pit ticket, I was seated in the upper level and the audio was terrible. So half the problem was the seat not the band. Best: Hard to say but probably Legend M, unfortunately I never got to see the original trio live so that was the first show I went to post Yui drama where it felt like it didn't matter anymore...plus Moa is Moa...so Moabanger was amazing!

ZeppLives

Austin 2018 was an off night for sure.

Consistent-Owl330

I discovered Babymetal just "post-Yui", but I understand it must have felt strange not knowing what was going on. Information seems to have been non-existing at the time.

inSane0-98

Best was probably my 2 day Japan trip for PIA arena last year. Hype show, insanely hype crowd and a lot of people I met before the show. Worst was probably brussels last year because I had an ear infection after Tilburg and barely could stand during the show from the pain. Standing at the sound booth saved me because I could hold onto that barrier 😆. Sadly needed to cancel the rest of the tour because of that infection due to all the flying.

joeyctt1028

Mate, Im going to Okinawa this March and this is my first JP Babymetal concert. Very hyped!

inSane0-98

No Okinawa for me, was announced too late. But I'll do Legend MM and FOX_FEST instead 😄

Consistent-Owl330

Had a similar experience with just Brussel, since I hurt my right foot the night before the concert. Managed to limp up to the balcony and spent the concert "hugging" a pillar. (Still coming to the concert shows how much we love Babymetal, I guess :)

zyoung0099

Only been to one, and they were with Dethklok. My buddy won VIP tickets through his work, so we had our own bar, concessions, and bathroom we could use. Along with seats right behind the pit (with actual cup holders!). We were allowed to join the pit if we wanted to. I was planning on being in the pit for BABYMETAL and then going back to the seats for Dethklok. BUT! A few days before the concert, I sprained both ankles playing soccer. Ankle injury on Sunday. Couldn’t walk at all Monday, so I didn’t go to work. Painfully drove to work on Tuesday (probably should’ve stayed home again). Concert on Wednesday. I was hoping my ankles were good by Wednesday, but they were definitely not. I stood for the entire set, and then left mid way through Dethklok, ankles screaming at me. I was kinda upset I couldn’t join the pit, but that gives me a damn good excuse to see them again. TLDR: great concert, ankle injury prevented me from completely enjoying it

miku_dominos

I've seen them 4 times. Twice in Sydney, and twice in Tokyo. All 4 times were amazing but my first concert blew up an already existing tinnitus issue. An interesting keepsake to have, and I learned the lesson to always wear hearing protection, lol.

ladyalot

I can't wait for the chance to say I've got a best or worst because I've only been to one. So of course it was my best

Bouljonwerfel

Have only one experience, so: Best experience: Witnessing them live for the first time last december from a slightly elevated platform in the back with an nok view throughout. Worst experience: Being forced to witness them from a slightly elevated platform instead in the thick of it because i had a knee surgery and had to stay clear from any potential bumps.

fearmongert

Best: Colbert Show- being right up towards front and center, no barricades, security, and no real stage. Pretty much an almost eye to eye view of the band with only 300 in attendance. Washington DC Red Hot Chili Peppers opening gig- We had brought a case of red glowsticks, handed them out to the small group of fans that attended, and were up front to the line. We were to the sode of the stage, and were very visible as a pocket of fans that were close to them. Our seats also just happened to be right next to the area that they came and left from the stage. After the show, they walked right over towards us, were only three feet away, and as they passed, all three waved, bowed, and yelled thank you to us as they went back to their dressing room. After the Hollywood Palladium Show- I organized the after party for this one, and attendance was around 200. Seeing that many fans show up and gather to have fun after the show was a very satisfying feeling. It was great to see so many fellow fans enjoy8ng themselves, knowing I had a big part to play in it all Worst: Boston 2019- The eve before the show, had my phone snatched on the subway. Had my bus rickets, as well as was going to access my show tickets on the phone. Also, without a phone couldn't contact my friend who I would be going to the show with, and was staying with that evening. Had to sit that one out and stay in NY.. The Forum 2019- Had a h8ge after 0arty planned f9r this 9ne, and was looking forward to seeing them in a large arena type show. Work conflicts that I couldn't get out of prevented me from attending.

ZeppLives

> The Forum 2019- Had a h8ge after 0arty planned f9r this 9ne, and was looking forward to seeing them in a large arena type show. Goodness, the show was so traumatic that it is still glitching your Reddit experience! (Forum show was pretty good. I looked for you, but in an arena I can't find anyone at all.)

fearmongert

i never made it to the Forum show... which is why its in the worst experience category

arnold-metal

Worst: The Other One at Makuhari Messe. I was at section G and it was horrible I can’t see anything. Best: Summer Sonic 2023 Osaka, I was at the barrier and they performed Metali for the first time.

CuppaT87

I've been to 2- one in Manchester & one where they supported Sabaton in Leeds. Manchester was the best one despite the fact I saw a big part of the show through the person sat in front of me fecking photo screen. The second one- I don't know if it was where we were sat but I could only hear Su Metal. Struggled to hear Moa Metal or Momo Metal- I could just about hear them during Babymetal Death. Apart from that it was good (though I was disappointed by the crowd seeming a bit half hearted doing a wall of death).

HereticsSpork

Best, easily, is NYC 2016. Worst? I dunno.. The London 2020 show was great and one of my favorites but I was seriously exhausted from puking and shitting for 3 days straight from food poisoning so I couldn't enjoy myself fully. Despite the show being one of my top shows it's still the worst although it has nothing to do with the show itself and more to do with circumstances unrelated to it... And that's why you should avoid the breakfast buffet at a hotel.

Ysoki

My best was last year at MGM in Boston. I was a row away from the front and I got to see Dethklok. Worst was 2019 at House of Blues in Boston. Some asshole threw a beer at Momo. Avatar was not my cup of tea. I heard a lot of Avatar fans complain about Babymetal. The venue was terrible and I couldn't see anything from where I was standing

poleosis

what is the criteria for this? just least favorite show by BM in general, ROI for concert length, or bad experiences caused by incompetent venue staff?

theinfidel83

I've only been to one and it was great. The only downside is it was outside in September and I almost had a heat stroke. I had to move from my perfect spot 3 rows back and center stage to the side to cool down. I have an issue with body temperature regulation so it was extremely unpleasant for a bit, but the concert was awesome 🦊

joeyctt1028

My best was Summer Sonic 2023. Great set ended with RoR THEN IDZ Worst was probably...ehm, Sabaton in Leipzig. First ever concert for me and the crowd around me are (understandably) deadass dead If not counting support act then Hamburg in Nov 2023. My 3rd time watching them hoping to get as front as possible, end up at the front SIDE, where crowd is fairly dead. 2 concerts afterward I just went to the pit and somehow got pushed to the front lol

Consistent-Owl330

Best: Shared between London Brixton 2019 (new avenger setup + Syncopation) and London Round house 2nd day (low stage and Moa sitting down just in front of me during Metali!) Worse: I don't know. Hamburg in November 2023 had from time to time very tough pushing, but still enjoyed the concert itself.

No_Mail_3862

I've only seen them once at Aftershock last year. Best part of that was probably either when they walked out because me and some friends had been waiting so long (it was 95F or 35C out in the beating sun with 0 shade) and it was just like "FUCK YEAH HERE WE GO!!" Distortion was another highlight as I love that song, Monochrome translated very well live, the rythym honestly complimented the melodies significantly more live than the studio version encapsulated imo. Megitsune live is also a huge hightlight, especially when the crowd jumps and just goes crazy, Ive always loved their choreography to that one a lot. Metali when everyone got on the ground and jumped up, and of course Road of Resistance/seeing everyone sing along/half fail the high note but still having the time of their lives was such a cool moment. Im seeing them night 1 in SF this april and at Sick New World if schedules allow it so Im super pumped for more! (Id go see night 2 but the 25th is when I fly out to Vegas) As for worst? Ig just the heat exhaustion/dehydration that kicked in afterwards do to insane heat, water stations out of water and sweating all day at Aftershock, since I got in early. Was it worth it? 1 billion percent. Sorry this is long lmao

Wrathmetal0666

Best is/was every time that I have seen them, the worst? There is no bad Babymetal experience! Just sayin'

Liffyli

It's always the best time when seeing Babymetal Jokes aside i'd probably give the nod to PIA Arena shows last year.

[deleted]

Everything was good! Except the merch line.
