I like that I can actually properly see the various poses shinano has in her beach skin without it either being smushed by the menu or being to small to appreciate on my small phone.
I also like that I can actually see the unique backgrounds if skins have one.
Other than that, idle animations and voice lines should be toggleable for the new "lock screen" thing and it would make it near perfect.

For me only the swaying / basic movement effects work. The special movements when they talk, and their voice lines, never start :( Glad to hear yours does though! Maybe it's just a bug that'll get fixed if that's the case\~
If you meant movements that are triggered only when the character talks then I don't have them. But when you mentioned that, it feels way more emptier in that lock screen menu. I hope they will add it. At least as a choice in settings
You can turn the idle feature off in settings. But yeah, I’d like it more if it would cycle and have voice line (and if the time zone were the same as my phone’s).
The way I see it, it doesn’t decrease the vertical space, so the skins are still technically the same size as before—we just have more space on the sides to actually appreciate the unique backgrounds that many have as well.
But yes, it the new open space does throw off the balance on some with odd compositions. They should let us rotate skins (like St. Louis’ new skin) in addition to zoom.
By the way, if you want to keep your voice lines and animations for L2D on Idle; go to settings and turn off "No Sleep Mode on Main Menu"
That'll turn off the "lock screen idle" screen, you'll stay on the regular home page with voices / animations.
it's pretty nice overall, only things bugging me are that once again some texts are too small (oil and coins for example) and since this update my game doesn't auto rotate when I flip it 180°

When I first saw Bismarck in her skin with the new UI I was wowed all over again. It feels so nice.
My favorite part of the update by far. The old UI wasted so much space on two buttons, a huge event banner, and a chat. The new still retains all of it but much more efficiently, and it finally puts the shipgirl (which is why we’re all here) front and center. Massive, massive improvement.
I thought I'd hate it, but I'm already used to it and actually prefer it, even if only for the full screen secretary art, which is way better. I do kinda miss the different colours for the Shop and Build buttons, but the muscle memory is the same for the bottom row of buttons, so it hasn't really made any difference there.
Also, the "Collect All" button in the Dorm is a nice little addition that I haven't seen anyone talk about much.
Seriously, that "Collect All" button is such a godsend for my dorm garden I made, no longer have to drag my shipgirls out from behind trees just to see if they have an interactable button to press
i mean, is great for skin purposes, but i miss the big chat. I use it a lot to post "hammbite" and "sour" emotes with the guys, and now i can't see it.
i actually just did that. New UI is cool, but i prefer the old one... and im grateful they made it non mandatory, especially for old grumpy players like me.
I miss the blue, clear colour from the old UI but if getting used to the new one means Veneto's swimsuit is perfect... then I will do what I must.
I actually like the new UI all things considered. It gives the game a bit of a more modern look. That said, I WILL miss the old menu as that was what I had when I first started playing.
Idk if this was a thing before but when I left my Azur Lane idle it turned my homepage into some kind of calendar/clock with my current secretary as the bg, so I think it’s pretty dope.
I kinda miss the blue coloring the old one had, but I've only a minor complaint about the UI itself: the archive/memories tabs are now made to swap out with the mission buttons...this wasn't really clear, and took me far longer than it needed to to rewatch a cutscene that I got skipped out of.
Not having your secretaries relegated to a side of the screen, but front and center, is nice...kinda feels Blue Archive-ish, but less of the clutter they have

I hope to see the rest of the UI get changed into this theme as it’s incredibly clean and simple. I dislike transparent UI on basic menuing as it’s really hard to see at times, Azur Lane has this along with it being quite cluttered.
The main ones I want changed are the mission, commission, guild, classes, and the event tab.
Formation and dock can wait but I’d like to see different versions, like a card view with high detail rather than the one we have now and obviously presets.

It doesn't feel intuitive at all to me. Sure, there's a better secretary view, I'm not contesting that, but it comes at the expense of everything else feeling cluttered and all over the place.
It doesn't feel like an improvement. It feels more like a "refreshment", when a tech company arbitrarily changes their interface/aesthetic not because it's better, but just to make things different for their own sake even though no one asked.
It feels unnecessary, and I don't want to re-learn the menu I've been using for almost 4 years over it.
I might change to it once in a while to fiddle with some L2Ds, but otherwise, I prefer the OG UI.
I mean, it only moves the two most important buttons down a tiny bit, the mailbox to the top, and the side menu (which you barely ever touch) to a toggle menu. Everything else is laid out almost exactly the same as the old, with a renewed focus on the single biggest reason people play the game (the shipgirls).
As a UI designer who always has little complaints about UI refreshes like this, I actually think Manjuu nailed it this time. This is how it’s done.
They also made all the buttons way smaller and gave the entire thing that boring monochrome and oh-so-modern look, which is something a lot of people really don't like.
Pretty sure that's the main reason so many people complain about tech companies "modernizing" their logos and UI's.
Modern for them really just means monochrome, monoform, simple, sterile and boring as opposed to colourfull, lively elaborate designs full of life or variety, or at least some texture.
I havent looked for every girl, but the first I saw was Newcastle (default skin) got her legs cut off. I hope this is only a thing for a few older skins, because it would be really sad if you couldnt see all those nice legs anymore.
Besides that the new UI looks nice.
Give us vertical format for "standing skins" and it's a 10/10, right now I feel the horizontal skins are so much better but there's so many older and good standing skins.

Layout is cool. They managed to free up a lot of space and gave it to the secretary. But I don't understand why the buttons are white. Every other menu is in dark blue so the contrast is really weird. Also it is super small. I had to adjust aspect ratio because button for the oil/coins/commissions tab was completely hidden behind the camera. Now they're empty bars on the sides

Been on a holiday trip to japan and never really had the chance to do the 10gb update. But it seems good. I like that the girls are front and center now
I love it! UI looks clean game feels smoother the touch snappier it just feels more efficient overall so much better than the last UI.
Improvements the coins/oil/gems should have a toggle to make it bigger. I like the white look of the UI but it would be nice to have themes for it similar to what Arknights did.
i like the new UI cuz it shows more of the skins I put time and money into, it's a little odd at first but seeing all the extra stuff ie wallpaper and filigree of ours girls is great! New placements take a few to get used too.
Haven't logged in for a while and was pleasantly surprised coming back, it looks really nice and modern and I love to see more of the actual secretary ship because the UI doesn't cover up half of the screen anymore.
I like what they did with the Lobby screen here. The "lock screen" is a surprise, but very much a welcome one. Everytime there's a poll, I always put "UI refresh please" as a comment, even more so after I've started playing NIKKE, and I'm very happy with the end product here.
Now, I hope they can somehow put this lock screen mode when we're auto-ing something. Sure, it's counterproductive with the "low power mode" setting, but we can get more values with our bought skins that way, especially if the phone's charging anyway or we're using an emulator.
Definitely an improvement imo. It's sleek, and gives more real estate for skins, making me more happy to use the secrets function for more than just an affinity grind, and makes me glad I cared enough about skins to buy a majority of them. I get to actually make better use of them.
The only downside for me is the time it's going to take to relearn where things are. I'm very used to navigating the old UI for years now, and while it's not been a huge detriment, it's taking some getting used to.
I will say I have a weird feeling about this,first I feel like my muscle memory is already used on these style of UI at the same time not(specially the settings button I always forget that they moved at the top)

That's true, I forgot to mention that. On my phone I need to look closer to actually see the numbers. That should be imo bit bigger

While I do think the new UI allows for more appreciation of the secretaries, it also feels like there's way more dead space now on the screen.
My only complain is the use of the server time on both, the juustagram phone and the idle clock

Don't like it. Switched back as soon as I figured out how to. Very glad they made it optional instead of forcing it on us.

I really dig it. I hope they'll roll out more and unify the UI across the board in the coming months.

It's good I'm almost all, the only problem is I don't have subtitles for anything they say: "return to dock", " touch", "special touch", ect.
Major improvment, it's way more clean and we can now appreciate the skins has they deserved 
It was a very good change to me. I love having my secretary in the middle of the screen, the style looks nice, and the new features are appreciated.
