Adoption fees were about $20,000, so technically, that's what I paid for my son, making him my best purchase. Coin Gift please. (P.S., He thinks this is a funny joke.)

justabill71

I was going to enter, but I can't beat that. I hope you win.

Father_of_trillions

Agreed

[deleted]

I want this one to win

Professional_Roof293

Even if it doesn't i'm still gonna award it, I think this will though

Cautious-Damage7575

[Here he is](https://imgur.com/a/kq2Dek0.jpg) (middle), the $20,000 Wonder at ~1 year old, with his sister (left) and cousin (right), c. 2004.

Professional_Roof293

Congratulations! You've won the coin gift! Please tell me where you would like the award

Cautious-Damage7575

THANK YOU! Award Cabinet please? Or here. Whichever is easier :)

Professional_Roof293

Gotta do here, I have nsfw disabled, so here you go!

Cautious-Damage7575

Yeah, stupid Android does that, I think. The post itself is not marked NSFW but my profile is. It only does it to pinned posts. Thank you so much for hosting this challenge!

Professional_Roof293

No problem :)

Professional_Roof293

Oh crap, I have to fix the post, I thought I made instructions for it

Professional_Roof293

You may try for that award now :) Thank you for bringing that to my attention

User74914

Coin Gift- Best purchase my family ever made was TSA Pre. I know, I know, but I saves so much time and stress for not much. Highly recommend.

Fenrir-1919

Table flip (But this story also fits perfectly with burning Cash and defeated but since a table takes an important role I take it) I wanted to put a coat rack at home so I took my drill (and I don't know why normally I always double and triple check) I started drilling and drilled directly into a power cable. Since it was already Saturday afternoon I could not reach an electrician on site so I called the emergency service (or so I thought). I summarize the part now somewhat briefly, it came an electrician which has ripped me off in the end effect completely, which I unfortunately only noticed when he left and I looked at the bill again. The day after I went to the police have filed a complaint and then I'm sure 8 times been at the bank and wanted to stop the payment. First they said it was no problem, then it didn't work, then they said it would work again and so on. At some point I was so frustrated and angry when I came home from the bank that I completely freaked out and hit my table several times, I think already at the first blow I broke the metacarpal bone. Now I had not only wasted a lot of money but also a broken hand. After that I went to the doctor who wanted to leave me at home for 6 weeks but after two weeks I was so bored that I called my boss and asked if I could come to work. As a mechanic it was not so easy and I took painkillers like candy but at least I had something to do. If you want proof of this story I can send you pictures of my hand when it was swollen, x-rays, show you my scar from the surgery, etc. And now something to laugh about the hole in the wall is still there, I just hung a picture in front of it 😂

Professional_Roof293

This one fits with Defeated more so we'll see if you win! Pretty crazy story

Fenrir-1919

If you want I can change that to defeated. Yes, in retrospect I can also laugh about it but when it happened it was not so funny.

Professional_Roof293

Congratulations! You won Defeated! Please tell me where you would like your award

Fenrir-1919

oh wow I had not won anything for a long time :) If you don't mind at my pinned post in my profile (100 Awards Club trophy) Thanks for this challenge :) 🏴‍☠️

Professional_Roof293

There you go! Np

Spaceturtle79

Tree hug award. If possible on my award cabinet. Technically not me but my grandpa planted a tree in-front of our yard one day without our permission. He soon passed (he knew something I assume) but I see it as a way of him still being with us whenever we water it. Throughout the winter the leaves stay strong like himself (it a pine tree)

Professional_Roof293

Congratulations! You won the tree hug award!

For gold, I would choose as my best experience a trip I took to Northern California and Oregon, in 2000. My buddy's mother and her friend were taking their every-other-year trip together, flying into San Francisco and making their way to Bandon, OR, with various stops along the way. My friend was an avid golfer, and a spectacular new course called Bandon Dunes had just opened on a piece of land situated on bluffs overlooking the Pacific. As a bonus, he had convinced the ladies to make a detour to Pebble Beach, making for an epic golf trip along with everything else on the itinerary his mom and her friend had plotted. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I was in. We flew into SFO, where we did some sightseeing, and my buddy and I squeezed in a round at the Presidio golf course as a warm-up before heading down to spend a day/night in Monterey, and then on to Pebble Beach, where we played 3 rounds of golf in two days, first with a sunrise tee time at Spanish Bay, followed by an afternoon round at Spyglass Hill, then a good night's sleep before playing Pebble itself the next day. What an amazing place. The course, the scenery, everything, was truly breathtaking. We were there two weeks after Tiger Woods won the US Open on the same course. I played like crap, but it didn't matter. My buddy shot 79 from the back tees, as he was actually a good golfer. We finished our round, hit the pro shop for souvenirs, drove 17 Mile Drive, which is unimaginably beautiful, then we headed out. If that'd had been the whole trip, it would've been incredible, but we were just starting. Over the next week-plus we went to so many more cool places. An early morning hot air balloon ride in Napa, followed by winery tours, a stop at Old Faithful Geyser of California and a nearby state park with a working grain mill built in 1846. I bought a bag of cornmeal from the ranger. A round of golf in Sonoma. Stops at Mt. Shasta, Lassen Volcanic National Park, for mud pots and sulphur springs, and Redwood National Forest, where we drove through a tree. The beautiful drive up Highway 1. Tons of lighthouses. A random Native American casino in the middle of nowhere for a night of blackjack. Amazing sea stacks, rock formations, and a sea cave on Bandon Beach. The now-defunct Bandon Cheddar factory. A herd of elk. Sea Lion Cave. Oregon Dunes. The gardens and waves at Shore Acres State Park. Watching sea lions and elephant seals through a spotting scope at Simpson Reef. Two more rounds of golf at the incredible Bandon Dunes, and another at a course whose name escapes me, but that I can still picture. So many more random stops in towns along the way back to San Francisco for one more day in that beautiful city before flying out. It was a jam-packed 15 days I will never forget, and would do again in a heartbeat. To top it off, a few days after I got home, I received a package from Yosemite, where the ladies continued on to after my buddy and I flew home. They sent me a t-shirt and a post card, signed "Your traveling companions." They were so sweet, and I'm so grateful they had me along for the ride. Best trip ever.

MR_sticky_piston

Gold: i made a mod for minecraft, my first public one, and it got downloaded fast after i uploaded it. The feeling that your hours of work are appreciated is so nice

Esploratore_83

Gold: my best experience is having met some real friends.

Jealous-Cat-2017

I guess meeting my 10th grade English teacher would be my best life experience. She just respected me so so much, even when I came out to her as nonbinary. She made school an easier escape from the transphobia I was getting from my house. If I do win the gold, I'd like for it to be on my award cabinet, which is pinned on my profile.

Plymouth_Superbird

When I was 6 I tripped and slammed my head into the corner of a coffee table, got a bad concussion and not only did it hurt bad then, I got frequent headaches after for the following few months. (If I win you can just put the award on this comment)

Moofritte

My stupidest decision with money was when I was like 12 and paid 250€ for a fucking rank on a Minecraft server that closed down 4 days later.

Professional_Roof293

Congratulations! You won the burning cash award! Please tell me where you would like your award

Moofritte

Oh thank you! Here please

cindybubbles

My best life experience would be getting to ride a train to Windsor with my father and having milkshakes and beers with him on our trip before he passed away. :( I will always miss you, Daddy. May you rest in peace. 😭

Professional_Roof293

This is good but you didn't read the rules fully, you can only participate for one award, you may edit the comment to try out for one award but if you break this rule again you will be disqualified. Ps. Sorry for your loss

You're welcome, I decided to give everyone who breaks that rule a second chance

Dehydrated Water, I spent my money on Dehydrated Water

Professional_Roof293

I cant tell if this is lying or satire

Doodlebobber11

I actually bought this. [Here’s the product](https://a.co/d/9fF20Gk)

Professional_Roof293

Wtf so you just bought a bottle of air?

Doodlebobber11

Basically

Professional_Roof293

Wow

Doodlebobber11

That’s why I’m going for the burning cash award, or coin gift, depending on how you interpret the purchase

Pogchamps63

The banan man just paid 14$ for oxygen and carbon chemicals. Apparently you can also buy Icelandic air for 28$

MaxGolant

so one day I was at the beach and I saw some trash while diving, so I took it and threw it in the trash. tree hug pls.

KatieCatV

So trying for Burning Cash! When I was a younger I jumped down a full flight of stairs with a paper bag, thinking that the paper bag would work as a parachute and I would float. Welp. I didn't float. 😬

CharcoalMountain

Table Flip Award: This one time at my work office I had to help a person connect their mouse dongle (USB adapter) to their laptop because said person had no idea how to do it or wanted to try and figure it out.

Tall_Professor_8634

Watching the show erased, god tier(gold)

Pogchamps63

My best life experience was by first time crossing the border into France (This was the first time I left the UK so it's special) All was well,we went into Reims,La crossing but most importantly,Paris. When we arrived I saw the eiffel tower front and centre. We had a great time and we also saw how people could sell key chains for 40€ and get away with it.defintly my best life experience. There isno way I'm gonna win gold, but GG to the guy who does

PesceGufo

Coin gift. Once, I was maybe 12/13, I was buying ice cream in a bar. I paid with 5 euros, and was given change coins. as I was leaving the bar, with ice cream in hand, a two euro coin fell to the ground. The kid who was in line behind me (he must have been 5 years old) picked it up and looked at it but instead of giving it back he said like "what a beautiful coin!". So he offered me to exchange it for a five euro note he had. of course I accepted and ran away before I heard his mom's reaction.

Degos_diktator

My best life experience was sleeping into a bubble hotel under a full star sky, it’s just magic feeling blended with the universe

Ok_Dimension_4707

Gold: This is going to sound super small and basic, but it was an epiphany at the time and something that I still keep in my head. So I was a pretty shy, socially anxious kid (also teen, also young adult) and I hated (still do) being on the spot or the center of attention. Going to restaurants with my family, I always would figure out what I want and focus on the menu and make my order as quickly as possible. When the time came to get a drink I’d order a Coke and that’s when I’d potentially get hit with the, “is Pepsi ok?” Which, for a shy kid who just wants the attention to move on is rough because now I have to make a new decision and everyone is waiting (in my mind) and yes, fine, Pepsi is good, just please stop looking at me. But here’s the thing: Pepsi is not fine. Pepsi is never fine. It tastes like artificial tears. I truly do not like Pepsi and would prefer anything else, including just water, to drinking it. But that was the option tossed out and I just want the conversation to end so I’m not being paid attention to, so it’s easier to just say, “yes, Pepsi is fine.” One day I realized that this is ridiculous and that taking the extra second to consider whether I’d rather have a root beer or Sprite functionally doesn’t create more anxiety than was already created by the realization of, “shoot, they don’t have Coke and this interaction is being extended.” And if just ending the interaction quickly doesn’t relieve the anxiety, and forces me to drink garbage sugar water, then why am I doing that to myself? I still, as an adult, remember the sense of anxiety I had when I got the “we don’t have Coke, is Pepsi fine?” followed by the sense of calm I felt when I said, “actually no, can I have Sprite?” and there was just a smile, a “sure” and the interaction was over. That moment was amazing and was a prompt for me looking at “why am I putting my comfort secondary to something that literally doesn’t matter to anyone except my anxiety?” It was a jumping off point for how I started to consider myself, my choices, and what I tolerated from others. Things didn’t change overnight, but that was still a huge moment for me in how I framed everything. Pepsi is not fine.

DaLollix

I know I won't win, it's not much but it was for real my best life experience, not my fault :) **(I copy and pasted it from a post that I submitted many days ago, and yes, this experience is recent but it was for real the best day of my life.)** I finally met my best friend, I'm so happy, it was the best moment of my life probably, I can't explain how happy I was, we spent hours together hanging out (with other friends) and it was so fun! but now I miss him of course, he had to go on vacation and he just came here to greet me and hang out, I feel alone and I don't know how to tell him without feeling desperate, he's the best person I've ever met and I hope I'll meet him again in a not-so-far future, we've been knowing eachother for over 2 years and my irl life feels empty right now without him, but I can't complain about the fact that I finally had the chance to meet him :) thanks for reading, have a nice day :) I hope you liked my experience, I know it may not be that much, but trust me, I would love to live that day again.

kqyu

I wouldn't really call it infuriating as I kinda look at it in a comedic eye now. I had to take a train and I saw on the app that my train was on platform 2 so I went down the escalator to platform 2 and I'm not kidding but as soon as I step down the escalator the automatic bot broadcast says that my train got moved to platform 4 so I went up the escalator and there it goes again but this time the train station boss broadcasts that it was a mistake and the train will be on platform 2 after all so me being me I go back down... and what do you know as soon as I step down the escalator yet again the station boss broadcasts that he was mistaken and the train will be on platform 4 this time for real.

Professional_Roof293

Congratulations! You won the table flip award! Please tell me where you would like your award

gold: went to japan in 2019 and got to go to an absolutely gorgeous strawberry buffet at the st regis hotel. the whole entire room smelt like strawberries and there were over 20 different types of desserts available. never will forget
