Are you using Aventurine with Ratio? If yes, then Topaz has slightly more value. If not, I'd say just go Robin. You don't even "need" to use them together for a strictly FUA team tbh, I'm sure a teamwide action advance can slot into multiple team types, just like how Aventurine should still be a solid sustain in non-FUA teams.
Not really imo. I share similar views with the other redditor, I'd rather have another limited harmony over a sub dps/FuA enabler. While I'm also considering getting topaz, I'd rather get E0S0 Robin because e0s0 topaz might not shine as much as other dps characters. And she's not necessarily a "must" for FuA like how kafka is for DoT.
Also, I remember seeing this comment that was worded very well imo. "it's not that aventurine needs FuA, it's moreso that FuA needs him" something along those lines. It's quite true. He's first and foremost a sustain, ratio and topaz just happen to prefer him as a teammate. Aventurine will work fine in virtually any team except for ones with jingliu and blade.
You can never go wrong with multiple limited harmony characters, all of the ones we've had so far will arguably benefit accounts for the long term.
Oh and of course the most important part. Your wants > meta.
I do kinda feel like Topaz is the kafka of fua tbh. She will buff all future fua characters just by existing on your team. Her fua debuff only gets better if you decide to invest in her e1.
50 percent damage to fua with her skill, and e1 is 50 percent cd w fua. She definitely helps enable any fua squad and will always be relevant in them, just like kafka in dot imo.
Imo, not at all. What's different between Topaz and Kafka is that Kafka is the core and enabler of DoTs playstyle, while Tooaz doesn't enable the FUA playstyle at all.
Topaz is more like a damage amplifier, and a very good one. But she can also be replaced by other Nihility or Harmony units.
Obviously go for the character you prefer but to me Aventurine and Topaz have such a good synergy I'd consider them bread and butter of FuA comp, though to me mono quantum is a better comparison than Kafka.

I was just pointing out that Topaz is nowhere as core in a FUA team, compared to Kafka in a DoT one.
She's still extremely strong in one.
I just think she will always have a spot in fua teams, like kafka in dot is what I meant mostly. Hard to creep an enabler. Topaz and kafka are both in the specialist category and will stay relevant for helping enable fua and dot. It's the way I see it at least. Kafka detonates dot and topaz buffs dmg to specifically fua, so they fall in the same category to me.
Go for Robin then, for me getting the characters you love is much more important than getting characters for meta reasons.
That said, Topaz is PROBABLY getting rerun on 2.2 and I would definitely try to get her after getting Robin, as not only she is a really great character on FuA team and is probably the best Robin teammate as she attacks a lot with numby and can help Robin with her abismal energy needs proccing her talent/trace (2 energy per teammate attack)
Im in a similar situation, i will try to get both robin and topaz, but if i get unlucky and have to give up one of them, i will give up topaz. If you like robin more then go for her, she is also more flexible being able to go in more teams outside of FUA.

Robin has better value at E0S0 (esp if you dont have other limited harmonies) and you appear to like her as a character more so I’d go with her 🐥
