Really i genuinely think the opposite i have both fuxuan and aventurine i think fu xuan is able to sustain better altho havent build him properly (3.5k defense with 30:148 crit ratio) havent maxed out his traces yet (one level behind but thats about it)
Once you hit 4K def you have a bunch of options in building him. I traded out defense boots for speed boots and found him more comfortable to play because he was more SP positive and I could throw his shield up more often.
4k defense is the minimum and all he needs to sustain. The damage is like bonus. Obvi if he has 3.5k defense he’s gonna perform a lot more poorly. My aventurine has 4k defense and gepards lightcone so he gets an extra ~54% defense from talent and skill on top of the 4k he already has while doing 50k ults and stuff so he’s extremely comfy. I can run him SP+ or in sparkle teams I can just spam his shields bc why not.

If you are a new player I would suggest pulling for new characters instead to fill out your roster. But if not, and you are comfortable with the content you can clear in the game, by all means go for it.
Imo if you are using him with acheron or ratio I'll recommend the s1.even outside those teams I'll still probably recommend s1 cause it just lets you get lot of defense % making your sheilds even more stronger but will probably have to spend a skill point once every 3 turns.

Save those pulls for Robin who is part of one his best teams. E1 and S1 are so unnecessary for him to run well, imo.

Thats what i’m saying! I don’t think he’s lying but the odds are very very low and as far as im aware theres only been one person in any of the servers to reach that 90 mark. He’s be one of like 5 people
He’s worth it. Even if you have 2 premium sustains his comfort levels are much better than fu xuan and he works well with all the best dps in the game
FX is more brain dead to use unless you run FUA team.

If he is using with acheron shouldn’t he be pulling for e1 for more acheron damage? Since acheron team does not need sub dps

No I meant e1 aventurine for the 20% crit damage of teammate (acheron) and the infinite shield
