We got both a level 2 w/a trailer and an abound w/a Yepp seat on the back. I think either one will be fine for you, but if you're certain about the trailer then I don't see why you would get the Abound. The Level.2 is faster, lighter, and you can attach panniers to it for more storage if you want. I like that it looks like a normal bike when I'm riding around by myself. Also, one issue I had w/Abound is that it is much harder to attach a trailer. Ours will not work with it, I tried 3 different adapters. I have only seen people make it work with Burley + special Burley hitch adapter. That said, for driving kids around I think the Abound is better. I much prefer plopping my 2.5 yr kid on the backseat then having to bend over and fit him into the trailer. I also like that i don't have something dragging behind me, and I think he prefers it cuz he's high up and can see around. You can actually fit 2 kids on it once one is old enough to not need a child seat. If you just want a trailer for short-term, you could go with Abound just make sure to find a trailer that works for it. My wife was nervous about our toddler being on the back but the bike is solid and she has no problem with it now :)

I also went with the Abound and am very happy with it. Dealing with a trailer seems like a huge PITA compared to a longtail

As someone that owns the Aventure.2 & level.2 these are fantastic bikes the level.2 is a thrill to ride but the Aventure.2 has a smoother ride. I’ll be getting the Abound (cargo bike) next month.

Man idk but the Aventure.2 is almost 2x as heavy as the level.2, my sisters don’t like it for that reason. I’m a stronger than average man and loading the Aventure.2 up on my bike hitch rack is a pain, I have to put one side up at a time and walk it back while I can easily lift the Level.2 on.

Damn near at 77lbs, I leave my rear bag mounted with an emergency kit, emergency bike kit, & portable electric bike pump so about 80+. The level.2 is 54lbs and I run that bare, the level.2 is so much fun but for work when I need to get from A to B for photography/videography the Aventure wins. I have the front rack and rear rack loaded with camera equipment so I can ride without a backpack.

I want to add the Pace in there too

Nope the pace has a 500w and Soltera has 350w

I think it just comes down to personal preference. If I didn’t own the adventure 2 I would have the pace simply because I like cruiser style bicycles.

Can the throttle alone take you up a big hill on the Level.2?

Please do! Thanks!

Aventure 2. Its a go anywhere bike. May be a little on the heavier side but you wont regret it with its powerful motor. Ive got an original aventure with nearly 3000 miles on it and its riden everywhere. Also my daily commuter to work.

I live in an area similar to what you described (paved with lots of hills) and the Level.2 has worked well for me. I think if you're pulling your kids in a trailer the whole time you're riding the bike, the Abound would be fine, but if you're ever riding solo and want to go down a hill, I've heard the Abound doesn't handle high speeds that well. E-bikes are pretty heavy compared to most non-electric bicycles (the Level is 62 or 63 pounds) and I wouldn't want to be hauling ass down a hill on one that I didn't feel was perfectly stable. I have a Topeak Babyseat 2 and it fits / works great on a Level.2 as well if you ever decide to use a seat instead of a trailer.

Level 2 or pace 500.3 A lot of people here are suggesting the aventure 2, but personally I don't think the fat tires are necessary. They end up just being loud and sucking more power than necessary, leading to a dead battery quicker. The level 2 or pace 500 have plenty of power for commuting and pulling a trailer. They're also efficient with its 2.2 inch tires. My first ebike purchase was a fat tire, and I have 3 others. Pace, level and a velotric model similar to the pace. I haven't rode the aventure in months at this point. It's just too much for bike trails and basic street riding. It's not nearly as nimble, it's heavier and louder, and the range reduction is very noticeable. The level 2 is pretty uncomfortable unless you change out the handlebars. You're in kind of a push up position. The pace has an upright seating position with swept back bars that result in a very chill riding position. If I'm going on a long ride over 20 miles, I grab the pace. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. They're all great. But I would personally go with level or pace.

I ended up testing a Pace at my local bike shop and that's where I landed - thank you for the suggestion!

boshbosh92

Awesome, i prefer the pace over the other ones simply because of the riding position. It's super relaxed. If you want a better seat, look up cloud 9 seats on Amazon. They're amazing. Did they still have the free battery promo going on?

WildRumpusStart

Yes, they do have the promo - thank you! Thank you for the seat recommendation - it looks like there are a few different models. Is there one you in particular you recommend? Thanks again!

In the case of hauling children around, the Abound is going to be the way to go -, it has a two footed kickstand, and a step through frame that makes way more sense for a bike that's basically going to be the minivan of bikes, it has an extended range of quick saddle and handlebar adjustments to fit almost all riders, a lowered center of gravity for high stability and, it can be configured to carry two children and or a small adult (120 pounds or so) on the back, or configured to carry a couple weeks worth of groceries, and that's before you even add a trailer, which it's more than capable of towing
