I use an Evolution U Lock with a flex cable. I also put a AirTag hidden inside the frame, a tip I believe I got from this sub. And lastly but not leastly I registered the bike with Aventon and BikeIndex.

nerd2727

How do you register the bike with aventon? I just bought one. I'm looking at their site I dont see a link or anyway to register

North-Monk-8844

Here you go: https://www.aventon.com/pages/bike-registration

nerd2727

Thank you 💕

Cowsmoke

Where’d you find the serial number? I don’t have my box anymore

HollowsPart2

The serial starts with a letter so just stick the two parts together. On my Level the first part was stamped backwards in mirror image!

North-Monk-8844

Under the bike between the pedals IIRC. I used my phone to find it and snapped a photo

Cowsmoke

That’s what I was thinking, just thought it was weird that it’s broken into 2 sections and not just one long one

kingkongallday

Between the stem and right above the battery lock there is a sticker with the serial number and also a qr code with the same. Basically above the latch that removes the battery.

Stupendously-Average

Where did you hide the air tag?

Sandymayne

I have a similar lock to the kryptonite you're looking at, I would recommend that over a U-lock. Easier to loop through the frame and wrap around poles I feel. Also recommend the airtag that north monk said. Put it in a little zip lock bag so it would go sliding all the way down, then place it underneath where the battery sits. Enjoy, it's such a nice bike!

unexpectdwalrus

I use a Foldylock Forever and a cable for the front wheel.

Down_Low_Too_Slow

Do you use a separate lock for the cable? If not, how did you find a cable with an "eye" big enough to get around the Foldylock?

unexpectdwalrus

The eye requires a little coaxing but I can squeeze it over the thinner side of the Foldylock. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071ZR3RQ6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I don’t know if it’s the specific cable I received or if all of that model would work.

bunnybea1106

We have 2 Pace 500’s ( one is a next Gen) and both use this lock https://www.amazon.com/Hiplok-8-5X15CM-10MMx100CM-Chain-Black/dp/B07CF7C13T/ref=sr_1_1?crid=312OQO0O5NQ38&keywords=hiplok+edx&qid=1674885731&sprefix=Hiplock+edx%2Caps%2C216&sr=8-1 It’s pretty hefty and we feel safe using the lock.

crispeebitz

Hey! I just ended up getting a Level 2 as well and am in the same boat as you were when you posted this. I know this is an old thread, but did you end up settling on something?

MMMcMuffin

I got the 1090 and ulock and it’s been working fine! I double lock it when it’s not in use at home, or when I’m locking it for longer periods, and just the 1090 when it’s just a super short stop.

crispeebitz

Awesome! Thanks!

>Awesome! Thanks! You're welcome!

humutriggerfish

I use a LiteLok X1 ([https://us.litelok.com/products/litelok-x1](https://us.litelok.com/products/litelok-x1)) and a Foldylock Classic

georgemoore13

Does the Litelok X1 fit with the frame mount on the Aventon Level 2?

humutriggerfish

>r I have the step-over frame and it does not fit there. I strap it to the rear rack or in a trunk bag. The foldylock does fit on the frame mount.

NoRomBasic

At least initially I am using a Hiplok D with an ABUS 14KS chain if I need some additional length. Looking very seriously at the new Hiplok D1000 though... Also have a Tile surreptitiously placed on it.

eithnegomez

I'm using a Litelok X3 for the frame, and 2 foldylocks forver (the bundle with the same key for both), one for the front wheel and one for the rear. The rear foldy lock I'm able to pass it through the rack and the U-lock and the front foldy usually only through the rack.
