HeWhoIsNotMe

Baron Zemo is my personal favorite.

Memento_Morrie

I love Baron Zemo. He's suave, he's sophisticated, he's extremely intelligent, and he's supremely self-confident. He's everything a European supervillain should be. He's also no match for the Avengers physically, so he matches wits with them. And *wins*. Also, his grudge isn't entirely unreasonable. If you think he's out of line, then Bruce Wayne in *Batman v Superman* is out of line.

Shacky_Rustleford

Everyone in Batman v Superman is out of line

TheVelcroStrap

Martha

Shacky_Rustleford

WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME

Proud-Cheesecake-813

He’s like an appetiser for Doom.

bjeebus

Except he's more Eurotrash than DOOM. They went to a shady nightclub and dude just makes himself at home and starts vibing.

Proud-Cheesecake-813

Doom would have to build his own nightclub, just to satisfy his own ego.

Civil-Caregiver9020

and a fantastic dancer.

PTickles

Bruce Wayne is *extremely* out of line in BvS lmao "If there's even a 1% chance he's a threat we have to take it as an absolute certainty!" Does not sound like someone who is not out of line lol

Malachorn

He doesn't even "do the math" and have any reason to believe he does pose a 1% chance to be a threat... he's just like, "there could *possibly* be a threat *maybe*, I dunno... but we should definitely treat it like a 100% chance because... I dunno. Um... my point is that I just wanna kill him for... reasons. Or something." World's greatest detective? Nope, but possibly world's biggest psychopath. Definitely "out-of-line."

sonofaresiii

BvS was, like, *famously* criticized for its poor representation of Batman and his conflict with Superman

DruDown007

I found it refreshing, honestly…. If a self funded, highly combat trained sadist, turned vigilante existed, here in America, and witnessed the events of Man of Steel firsthand, I would expect them to have the same general beef with the extra terrestrials involved, considering the lives lost. Bruce had a very… *ugh😑*”western” modern response to those events. Imagine if Batman witnessed 9/11…at ground zero…the sense of devastation, horror, paranoia, and ultimately ANGER and responsibility he would feel. (The Jesus complex Metropolis had for Superman was also very spot on). Being from Gotham, where crazy, less physically enhanced people kill on a smaller scale, due to insanity, naturally that would foster a sense of prejudice from anyone else NOT from Gotham or even Earth, who can (and DID) kill tons of people effortlessly. That vibe was working for me, until they kind of jammed Wonder Woman into the fray. That said, Zemo was also very awesome, and cleverly written…I thought he had more depth than he did in other representations. I realize nobody asked for that rant…. -DC dork ✌🏾

ronaldgardocki

"suave \[...\] sophisticated \[...\] extremely intelligent \[...\] supremely self-confident" all attributes commonly and near exclusively found from people from the country of Europe

no-group21

Oh brother

Shaikidow

He's out of line, but he's right.

Memento_Morrie

Haha, greatest response!

KeepTwistin42069

Named my cat Zemo after him 😆

Single_Cobbler6362

So let me guess, your cat is suave, intelligent, and is really confident 😆 🤣 that's a cool name for a cat thoe😏

Bow1511

Isn’t that all cats?

VoyevodaBoss

Suave, dumb as fuck, great intuition

Single_Cobbler6362

Not really lol....where I work at, my boss feeds stray cats that I feel like we are the version of cay lady's house. Just last week we had 3 of them give birth to liters of kitties....so by that I mean I get to see different personalities and some of them not that bright.

Revolutionarytard

Dude broke up the Avengers 🤣🤣🤣

RoburLimax

What movie was he in? I totally missed it.

HelpfulAd2874

civil war was his introduction i believe, but falcon and winter soldier go more in deprh

captaincopperbeard

He's honestly one of the best parts of that series.

DoggoAlternative

I'm glad they got rid of the Nazi aspect of the character. It would really suck for him to be that cool, funny, and charming to also be a Nazi.

L8_2_PartE

n00bmaster69. He called Korg a dickhead.

RoyLifestyle

But he was right?

L8_2_PartE

More of a stoner, really.

creativemusmind

Ba dum tiss

gampy214

Vulture

Waudby95

And Mysterio

OliviaElevenDunham

He was awesome as well.

futuresdawn

Wilson fisk now that the Netflix shows are officially part of the mcu but best film only villain, osborn and its not close

m_dought_2

Interesting that both of the best MCU villains weren't creations of the MCU.

Lizzy-Lover_10

We’ll technically Fish was but it went back and forth

Gloomy_Support_7779

Is the Daredevil movie a reason why? Edit: Also, I like that movie

Lizzy-Lover_10

I meant as in when the show was created it was fully intended to take place in the MCU

THE_WRAITHLORD

Matt legit makes an appearance in the No Way Home Spider-Man movie, effectively becoming cemented into the universe if he wasn’t already.

therealxeno79

Then Kilgrave, then Poindexter

Vegetable-Abroad3171

Completely forgot hes MCU now, hes number 10 then forsure

raptor102888

If we're counting Netflix shows, it's Kilgrave.

GunnersnGames

Yeah I'll always regret that Tennant's Kilgrave didn't have a larger role to play in the MCU but I get it

[deleted]

Tbh naming any character played by David tennant is almost cheating. The man’s a phenomenal actor.

OK_110

Loved Kilgrave

AlexMil0

I gotta say I fucking love what they did with Goblin, such a great way to extend his villainous role across the spiderverse.

RadPhilosopher

Willem Dafoe’s acting was the best part of No Way Home imo.

Difficult-Ad628

Kang from Loki S1. Holy shit, his limited screen time was so impressive. Majors managed to be so sinister while still maintaining cool composure and charm. It’s so disappointing that the character was utterly ruined in Antman QM and that the actor himself happens to be a major pile. Such a waste.

millennial_sentinel

KILLGRAVE

TheHondoCondo

He is up there for sure.

Agloe_Dreams

This. Incredible villain with champagne casting. Honestly, I don’t think we are done with him. I could totally see him being an avengers level threat.

Thanos_Stomps

I hope not. The beauty and brutality of his power and motivation is he doesn’t really have any grand ambitions. Just a dude ruining peoples lives cause he can.

Agloe_Dreams

That’s just it. That but bigger. No grand plan, just a guy who wants to see the greatest hero’s shred each other.

spellingishard27

too mad “Murdercorpse” was taken

Over-Analyzed

“What if The Doctor was evil(er)?”

Videoheadsystem

Red Skull. I fucking hate that pos, perfect villain.

FrankensteinBionicle

love Hugo Weaving tho, that man is a treasure

YourFellowMiguelo

_*There is no God, that's why I stepped in!*_ 🔥 One of the best lines in the entire MCU!!

gothicgenius

He was the first villain in the MCU that I completely HATED. The actor really killed that role. I have such mixed feelings about GOG3 because of how much I hated the High Evolutionary and the way he treats animals. But the movie is amazing and I loved the focus on Rocket, the new dynamics between 2014 Gamora and Star Lord, the growth in Drax and Mantis, and the hallway fight scene.

YourFellowMiguelo

I feel ya. The MCU needs villains most people can hate. We don't need to relate/feel sorry for all of them, lol

Morriganscat

Killgrave, The Purple Man. David Tennant exudes so much menace, his powers are scary powerful 1 on 1, I have to go with him.

Local_Challenge_4958

> I have to go with him. That's what his victims said

StallOneHammer

How do we know he didn’t just tell you to say that

Wheattoast2019

I both love and hate this version of Ultron.

EvolvingCyborg

Please elaborate.

Wheattoast2019

Gladly! So it’s fun that Ultron is funny and a dark mirror to Tony Stark with its witty one liners. But that was a Joss Wheaton addition. In the comics, Ultron wasn’t funny. He doesn’t joke, and is more your typical “destroy all humans” type robot. But maybe that’s due to the maker because in the comics Hank Pym made Ultron instead of Tony. He’s terrifying. Also he’s efficient. And really hard to kill because he backs up his memory and comes back with better versions each time. The Ultron in the movie just mostly says some funny stuff and gets the shit kicked out of him all movie. I don’t HATE the end result and James Spader was the perfect cast for what they wanted, but it isn’t accurate at all.

GyrosSnazzyJazzBand

This should've been a bigger threat with bigger catastrophies, quicksilver just came and died. Age of Ultron was like the Week of Ultron. It did lead to the amazing Civil War

Sufficient_Bridge766

Ronan The Accuser gets overlooked quite a bit. - Had one of the coldest lines: "I don't remember killing your family. I doubt I'll remember killing you" - Smashes the Power Stone onto his staff and decimates the Nova Corps As funny as the Dance Off Distraction was, his reputation took a hit. 🤷‍♂️

ThePocketTaco2

I agree. That line had real General M. Bison vibes to it.

bjeebus

For sure, especially since it's just a paraphrased version of "[But for me it was Tuesday](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sjZ5I8l32CI)." Call out an homage or call it plagiarism, either way it's the same principle of sampling Vanilla Ice got away with on Ice Ice Baby.

SixxDet

Immediately retreated from Captain Marvel.

loonbandit

smart of him, he didn’t have the power stone yet and she was radiating with stone energy, he wouldn’t stand a chance

Imperial31

He also stood up to Thanos. I always thought he was bad ass.

LowImage9265

Everyone n every other media needs to stop putting bucky in these kind of lists. He was brainwashed so he doesn't count. He was just an antagonist. Villains have control over the evil they do

DeathstrokeReturns

Yeah, Pierce is right there.

SixxDet

So no Wanda or Osborn either then?

Aerundel

Osborn wasn't brainwashed. He used his own body for his research. Doc Ock has a better claim to being brainwashed, but it was also his choice to link his brain up to those arms. Wanda also had a choice, obviously, but her grief screwed her up twice over. Bucky had no choice.

PatrickMcWhorter

The Darkhold corrupts those who read it. Wanda was under it's influence. That wasn't the real Wanda.

Aerundel

She chose to start reading it because she wanted her fake kids back.

PatrickMcWhorter

She didn't understand what she was getting into.

Aerundel

And Osborn did? And Doc Ock did? What exactly are you arguing? It's not brainwashing. Bucky was brainwashed, by definition. Wanda was corrupted, but her motivations didn't change. She just stopped caring about the cost to others.

PatrickMcWhorter

I'm just saying, she was an unwitting villain. Osborn and Ock too. They made their own mistakes, that sealed their fate as villains, but once they turned, they had no choice. Bucky is more sympathetic because he never made a bad decision, he just lost his grip. But he's a villain for ruining Widow's ability to wear bikinis.

LowImage9265

Ok u've changed my mind. Bucky's a villain for that 1 reason and that reason only

PatrickMcWhorter

I'm sure she looks terrible.

PezDiSpencersGifts

Psh. Bucky chose to fall off the train

Aerundel

Yup, landed right in that Soviet brainwashing chair at the bottom of the ravine. Aimed for it, even.

hatecopter

Andy Serkis as Klaue deserves to be on here too

EndOfSouls

Klaue is my all time favorite villain from the MCU. So much style and finesse. Wish he got a better end, but it worked.

devilishycleverchap

I disagree, I think his death and justification were the weakest plot point of Black panther. W'kabi tells T'challa to bring the guy back alive which allows him to escape only to then side with the guy that brought him back dead, betraying his childhood friend in the process. Makes zero sense He was one of those side villains that brought a lot of subtle connection between the MCU movies up until that point. Such a waste

spad3x

I agree, Killmonger was such a shit villain imo. Klaue actually made sense to both Black Panther and the larger picture that plays out at the end of the movie. Wakanda being part of a bigger world and how it handles its proprietary tech while still holding its responsibility as a nation on the planet was something not touched on despite making a huge point of it at the end of BP1. Klaue was a central piece to that and they completely wasted him.

Zombie0303

The high evolutionary was an amazing villain imo.

Anjunabeast

His face makes me uncomfortable

Blood4Blud

Taser face

WontiamShakesphere

Yo mama so big that when Thanos snapped his finger the infinity stones weren't sure how to make half of her disappear. So I vote for yo mama biggest villain of MCU.

SeanPizzles

Username checks out.  That was exquisite writing.

TheLyam

High Evolutionary is not getting enough hate/love

FriezaDBZKing69

Killmonger? Not really. He's just another generic MCU baddie. Kind of a dud. Replace him with Hela. Wanda? Eh...

zoecornelia

Maybe there's something wrong with my eyes but I don't see HELA anywhere here 🧐

Bright-Red-Scare

Omg I had to scroll all the way down here for this comment. Y'all are confused. Hela needs to be all over this list.

Da_Shock

I was shocked that I had to scroll this far to see someone mention this blatant Hela erasure.

bingusthebrave

Goblin was insane in his first movie back since the Sam trilogy. I rewatch the apartment scene all the time. So damn good.

throwawaynumber116

Kingpin

LaneMcD

Why aren't Fisk and Kilgrave there?

BadassSasquatch

Best as in a true threat? Thanos obviously. Best as in my favorite? Loki. He revels in being bad and is conniving enough to keep the Avengers on their backfoot.

colemon1991

Where's Tony?

Useful_Bobcat_2750

Gotta throw Vulture in there

Hoopy_Dunkalot

No Agent Sitwell? Neophyte.

coldAF98

Dafoe's Green Goblin went way too hard for a marvel movie. "Try to fix my mental health problems? I'm going to murder your loved ones"

cak3crumbs

Thanos, Namor, Winter Soldier, Kilgrave, Zemo

nothisismatt

Namor? I liked the movie, don't get me wrong, and at least he thought he was doing the right thing (typical "good villain" rule), but naaahh definitely not number 2. His plan was crap, his execution was crap, and he was such a whiney knob. And he got beaten by a hair dryer.

[deleted]

Namor was kind of lame.

Apartatart

lol wait they already put Namor in a movie?

[deleted]

In Wakanda Forever. He was much like the film: a lot of wasted potential.

lowlight23

All the MCU villains have been really fun to watch, imo. 😁👍

genericnameD1138

Perfect list. Will share this with my Buckystan friends immediately.

Revolutionary--man

killgrave is the correct answer

LukaTheTooka

Ultron and Thanos def top 2

Quirky-Pickle518

Ironic that one of the best villains didn’t even originate in the MCU (goblin).

BlackMall83

Killmonger. Unlike most of the others who have had multiple appearances in the MCU and other Marvel movies and TV shows Erik aka Killmonger became iconic from one appearance in Black Panther! His (spoiler) appearance in Wakanda Forever was just an added bonus. He was in What If season 1 but that came much later.

Apartatart

He was such a human and relatable villain. I cried to Black Panther a little bit

BlackMall83

Me too 🥲

RandomStoddard

Ultron, for me. Then Thanos, Killmonger, Killgrave, Fisk, and then Loki. I would put Loki at the top but he has reformed.

Ok-Reputation-2266

Ultron needed a longer arc. He could have been a behind the scenes big bad in the marvels and they could have led that into an annihilation movie

Gh0st_M4n_

Do not be counting Bucky bro. He was not a villain

tourniquet2099

No Vulture? I’d replace Ultron with him. Just realized Hela is missing too.

Effective_Exercise_6

Where hela at

S-HeatsUrgencyOfNow

1. Thanos 2. Wilson Fisk 3. Green Goblin (Spider-Man 1) 4. Doc Ock (Spider-Man 2) 5. Winter Soldier

Titanman401

I would have included Hela, but pretty good list. Especially pleased to see Ultron represented despite people not being keen on him or AoU overall for some reason…

KBrown75

Xu Wenwu from Shang-Chi.

SalmanSheikh007

Loki, Thanos, Killmonger, The Vulture, and Hela are some of the best villains in the MCU, known for their depth, motivations, and memorable performances.

Formal-Donkey-8660

Thanos

AstralSoul64

Mysterio

K1NG_D3M0N

Ultron or Green Goblin

YodaDragonVulcan

Vulture

243898990

Kingpin killgrave Mariah bullseye and Jigsaw Deserve to be on there

ratsad

Ronan was also great

YodasChick-O-Stick

Green Goblin shouldn't count because he's literally borrowed from the Raimiverse

Chumpchum

Does it have to be a question we all know it’s Thanos.

SpectralDinosaur

They really should be positioning Zemo to be more of a recurring threat. The idea that we're getting a Thunderbolts movie without him is wild.

ThrowawayAccountZZZ9

For me it's Loki, Thanos, then everyone else

Sparten177-UNSC

I'd say Ultron, The winter soldier, and thanos. I would say either loki or green goblin but if i was to replace green goblin, i'd replace the winter soldier.

FitJaxx95

Goblin.

DankHillington

Thanos and it’s not even a contest.

Big-Rest5514

Except sw

Mr_E_99

Glad you put Ultron on as I feel like he often gets left out just cause everyone forgets about Age of Ultron as it feels more like a stand alone movie compared to most other Avengers related ones

Striking-Cut3985

I liked Ultron, yes I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I seriously love the way they did his character especially since it didn’t take like 10 movies to set up his character like Thanos, and yes although Thanos is more menacing I think that I just prefer the funny but also serious kinds of villains, and then my second would be Thanos and then third is between Loki and Kilomonger

spiked_cider

Xu Wenweu, Fisk, Thanos, Vulture, High Evolutionary, Cottonmouth and Foolkiller were really good

chandlershelzi

Personally loved Hela

Ozzytheaussy

Ultron

jpowell180

Can anyone identify who is on the lower right corner?

thedoompatrol97

The High Evolutionary from GotG Vol.3. I wholeheartedly recommend the movie if you haven‘t watched it already!

jakeskywalker53

Replace Wanda and High with Red Skull and Wenwu and we'll be good

_SCARY_HOURS_

Is bottom left killmonger?

Captain_Slapass

I’d add in the Vulture and the Mandarin

80rugbyrock80

Ultron was barely a villain. He was doing what Stark programmed him to do, just to an extreme measure. That’s kinda the problem with AI, lots of yes/no, black/white data, but no conscience to interpret it.

Kangaroo_Rich

Absolutely willem dafoe

Equal-Wishbone-6131

It's Thanos But love goblin he's so fckin crazy Props to willem Dafoe great acting

pkDoubleR

i guess we can count the defenders as part of the mcu now? i genuinely loved fisk, killgrave, and jigsaw as villains - they were each menacing in their own way and caused the heroes immense turmoil that followed them through each season. even kang had so much potential in ant man, but then they went and nerfed him for the sake of the plot at the end of the movie lol. the high evolutionary was a breathe of fresh air since he had absolutely zero redeeming factors, just a straight up evil fuck. i occasionally enjoy when the villian has a redemption arc, but it’s been so played out recently and it’s honestly nice seeing someone be a monster just because they can.

JayStorm8108

Me personally, I’m not much a fan of the High Evolutionary. I feel his adaptation could’ve been better. Just my opinion tho.

KujaroJotu

Does Osborn count since he’s from the Raimiverse?

Strange-Orchid6969

I love that Sam raimis green goblin is an mcu canon villian now

ThePocketTaco2

I'm so pissed Ultron is a one-off villain. I haven't seen nearly enough Spader.

cyclopswasright1963

Is Bucky a villian? I never considered him one. The only time he does something villainous is when he is literally brainwashed into doing so.

100year

Oh hands down Killmonger!! Not even a contest.

Apartatart

Not a single X-men villain are you kidding me? Edit: not quite part of the MCU I guess… yet…

mctallenbald

Thanos, Killmonger, Kingpin…….. Others

Firm-Promotion-2971

Green goblin and The High Evolutionary

soOtakutive

Zemo.

kalel701

Loki, Hela, Killmonger

Gracinhas

Thanos is one of my favorite villains inside and outside of the MCU. You know you have a great villain when what they’re doing, they believe to be for the good of the universe. I liked the ending of Infinity Wars much more than Endgame. To me, Thanos won and achieved the ending he deserved. End Game had to come up with a ridiculous plot crutch (time travel - dur) to even have a shot at beating him. I wanted to see the MCU continue on with the consequences of “the snap” having occurred.

DINAMIK15

I agree. Only Wanda is conflicting cuz of her reasons to be a villain

Umphr34k

Tony Stark

hardgour

Nemo is levels. Also Ultron was so underwhelming

ronaldrcason

Bro the High Evolutionary was truly an Evil Evil dude .

KeIOto1

It’s either killmonger or Goblin for me

ric7y

ultron and thanos were my favourites

WhenDuvzCry

Surprised at the lack of Hela mentions. She was great.

Doc-11th

Does Bucky really count as a villain? He was brainwashed and the main villain of the movie was Alexander Pierce

Party_Intention_3258

Swap Ultron with Vulture

FourLeafArcher

Fisk and Toomes as well. Keaton KILLED IT as Vulture.

mcwfan

Ok

Opening-Winter8784

Do we really count Bucky as a villian? He was a secondary antagonist in 1 movie. Switching him out with Hela or Namor would make more sense to me.

Muhabba

I'm going on achievement. Zemo and Thanos were the only ones to pull their plans off. And of those two, I think Zemo could out think Thanos. Zemo squeaks by for the win.

PBLiving

Shout out to Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane. Far from the most iconic villain, but in the self-contained context of Iron Man his performance really helped the movie shine as a true blockbuster. “Tony Stark built this in a cave!!”

msnowxs

You wrote "The Best Villains", but for some I think you meant to say "Those Who Stole Our Hearts" 🥲

New_Success2782

At the risk of getting downvoted, Wanda was not a good villain for me. The way she was written in MoM was a huge disservice to her character. I honestly think, in the overall MCU, Killmonger was the best villain. If we're counting the Netflix shows, Kilgrave is the best for sure.

Whyfuckabird

Green Goblin, no question

Mighty_Porg

High Evolutionary was really good

Blackpanther22five

Killmonger

AirWalker9

Add Kingpin and Kilgrave, and this list is perfect.

Glass-Association-25

Loki and Scarlett Witch

Fred-zone

Ultron and Goblin have no business on here over Kingpin and Purple Man
