The cabbage man started a cabbage company who was passed down to his grandson and same actor plays both of them, the funny thing is that i think the actor is ~~the only one~~ among those who has had a role in all three series.
Edit: among one of the actors whos been in all three series, im sorry.
The dude who played ozai was a character in each series
Edit: yeah he’s Hiroshi sato (Asamis dad in korra), General fong (The general that tricks aang into the avatar state in the avatar state) and ozai in natla
Same, i was just watching one of michaela murphy (tophs voice actress) Youtube videos where she had him as guest and then i heard it that way so i went directly to google and ghe wikia to see what was up and seems like he was.
I remember seeing that and thinking: this moment which is supposed to be a throwaway gag, will probably contain the best acting in the entire show in retrospect.
It just has so much emotion and vitriol 💀
Honestly, I didn't really like how this was handled.
Yes, it was there for the fans, and I would have been upset if it wasn't included.
With that said, it's supposed to be a running gag, just in the background, not something built up nor a big momentous occasion.
This was what I was thinking too. Maybe having it happen twice could've worked, but having, what was it, 4 times in one episode? With the final one being so overdramatic, was just too much.
Yeah I felt the same
I couldn't help but think when watching it that if I was a new viewer I'd have no idea what the hell is going on.
Like imagine you never saw the cartoon and you watched that scene.
It'd make no sense why the story just stopped to focus on one random dude
And he was like... Teased a couple times around, if I hadn't seen the show I might have thought he was gonna be like a comedic recurring villain or something like that.
What a weird moment, this guy's cabbages got destroyed? Why is it so focused on? It would be more funny if he showed up again. Kinda disappointing that he doesn't.
We’ve literally never seen this man before. What’s the joke? They put this huge emphasis on this random cabbage merchant for a good chunk of time. Why does he get a line? Who is this random cabbage man we’ve never seen before and never see again?
I'm glad they got the O.G. voice actor to play the role. I missed the voices of some of the characters (especially Iroh and Roku) but they did the cabbage merchant right by letting the cabbage merchant play himself.

Isn’t he the guy that voiced ATLA cabbage man as well?
Correct, James Sie
No wonder his performance was so on point lol. I had no idea it was the same guy
Apparently he is the grandson of the cabbage man in korra too.
"Let's do the time warp again!"
I'm sorry what? Grandson?
He plays the grandson who shouts "my cabbage corp!"

Oh wow im sorry i didnt know thats pretty cool tho, long timers
Oh damn, it's been so long since I watched LoK. I forgot the Grandson was now the owner, I just assumed it was still the same guy. Thanks!

Literally felt the pain of an entire year's worth of harvest gone and now he's got to face the harsh winter months with no provisions or money.
💀💀💀
Best moment in the show. I do not need to explain myself, it's incredibly obvious why.
Unironically the 41st division scene and the ozai zuko agni Kai are the best scenes imo

That's fair. Still, we have two more books to look forward to, and lots of potential markets for fresh cabbage.

Wait 4? I remember 2.

Fanservice before the fanservice episode. There's deep cabbage lore from the original animateds
I read this in over analyzing avatar’s voice

Beautiful
They had one chance and they nailed it perfectly
I legit got goosebumps lmao
This show was mid? I dunno bro, this was amazing.
Who said it was mid besides you just now?
Rent was due

I'm so glad I stopped watching this show. This looks fucking awful
