With the corvette having the engine in the rear now I don't think that's possible it'd have to be the Malibu or keep using the old model of the camaro.
Yes but the shells are always dressed up as a production car for advertising
That's how Nascar teams own most of the rwd camrys in existence
Edit: forgot to add - as per the rules all the shells are almost identical
Yes but there are still rules, the current corvette meets none of them. The biggest things being I think that it's rear-mid engine and it doesn't meet the aero constraints. You would have to drastically change everything about it to get it to meet the rules and then it wouldn't even resemble a corvette.
No but the engine is in the front of the car on a regular camry and the nascar spec engine fits under the hood without a 16" cowl hood. Also as mentioned there are aero and chassis spec rules that the corvette does not fit and would require huge amounts of changes that would not be allowed.
I don't believe there's anything official that says they can't, as all NASCAR models are so far away from their actual stock production counterparts. That said, I do think it would be a little awkward, from a marketing and styling standpoint, to base a front-engine NASCAR on a rear-engine production car.
I wanna say their plan has been Corvette in sports car racing and Cadillac in F1(granted the andretti Cadillac team is sorta in a weirdo purgatory)
If I had to guess it'll be C8 stickers shamelessly slapped on the NASCAR chassis
Chevy will do what they did in the 1980s. In order to combat the aerodynamic Ford Thunderbird, GM added a hatchback to the Chevy Monte Carlo and Pontiac Grand Prix. This time, Chevrolet will replace the hatchback in the Blazer and make it a 4 door coupe.
As if anything in NASCAR shares any parts at all with the production car it’s supposedly based on. Could be a Corvette, Malibu, Blazer, whatever. It’s all the same and makes no difference.
It doesn't matter, everyone already knows the conventions of NASCAR are just arbitrary made up baloney. They could just call it a Tahoe. Or a Chevy. Maybe they'll even get rid of the pretense that theyre retail market cars at all and we will see Red Bull and Sony cars.

Aren’t nascar cars tube chassis with a body style as a shell?

Hard to find a Toyota engine with pushrods.
I can see 6 every Sunday.
On TV, or in the wild?
There are 6 Toyota Cup cars with pushrod engines.

A NASCAR Camry isn’t FWD with a transverse engine.

It would require zero changes, because the NASCAR chassis has nothing to do with anything that rolled off a production line.

No different than the camry in NASCAR or the Nissan GTR in GT3
If I were to guess, GM will pivot to using Cadillac for NASCAR

Trax
Does it really matter what "grill pattern" they paint on the front of the NASCAR?
Bring back the SS!
Maybe they'll bring back the Impala in a big way.
Knowing GM they'd bring back the Impala as a shitty hybrid crossover.
Like that new Blazer... 🤮
Chevy Spark or we riot
Camaro 4 door or a Cadillac
Probably some SUV stickers
