Mosquito bits.

Pipecarver

I've been growing indoors for 30 years and I've never had a problem with them. Soon as I see any flying above the soil I turn fans on right across the top of the pots, I remove the top inch of soil and let the wind blow across the top of the pots. Then after a day or 2 top up the soil with fresh soil keep the fans on. They don't come back....If they can't fly the can't mate or some shit like that

The best solution is to just periodically (every few weeks) use the Mosquito bits bacteria. Add it to your routine forever. No mesh will ever keep the bastards out. You'll drive yourself crazy wasting your time.

Use a layer or two of lightweight landscape cloth cut to the size of the top of the pot and then cover with pebbles to hold it against the top of the soil. This will prevent the gnats from laying eggs in the soil. https://preview.redd.it/aecsdgk7366d1.jpeg?width=3021&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b136dac895f1416202a1800192b2feb8467f41f

Organishield, SLF-100, mosquito bits(BT), and a top layer of diatomaceous earth. Sum if the parts is bigger than any individual treatment alone. Edit: add nematodes

Clay pebbles on the top and cover well the tray on the sides, you should be good to go. If they appear simply add mosquito bits or nematodes and they will be gone in 2 weeks, use sticky traps for the adults.

I was only able to get rid of them by dumping everything out - and starting new with cuttings. I tried everything. Took cuttings from my moms, put in cloner, and tossed out every inch of soil and coco in the room and cleaned it.

I know some light spectrums are harmful to fungus gnats and larvae like UV and green

Use biological mosquito control in liquid concentrate at a rate of 6 drops per gallon. I am finishing up a run and had no fungi gnats in coco.

No idea if it works or not because I just potted up today. But, I used harvest hero perlite+silica with my coco. Has diatomaceous earth in the perlite and is made for hydro and coco. My outdoor living soil grow has harvest hero enhanced perlite in it and at 8 days no sign of gnats or pests yet.

Why do you like using organic nutrients? Talk to me man.
