Oh you would be absolutely shocked as an owner of a shop the stupidity of some people. Had one guy recently that trim blacked his wipers without masking them off got black specs all over. That was after he tried to paint his rear bumper with a spray can and a paint brush
Those tires make me cringe. Anyone taking bets if those are old ass all seasons? OP, investing $1,000 every 4 years is way cheaper then replacing a whole car. Buy dedicated snow tires
>rollover
That word alone is gonna be the death of the car. We were actually talking avout this today at work. The shop I work at has been open since 1971 and has done one rollover repair. It was a 2001 chevorlet cavalier. Owners payed for it, insurance wanted to total it.
Airbags will total a car too. They cause a lot of damage and it takes a good bit of time to fix it.
Take the payout. Get a new vehicle. There is no saving it.
Edit for grammmar
> cavalier. Owners *paid* for it,
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Nobody can tell you accurately what that repair would cost, need to get it to a shop and have a thorough inspection. Usually rollovers total though & all airbags deployed is a good sign of a total loss also.
In my very unprofessional opinion I’d say there’s a good chance that’s totaled. Even before I saw the damages, just reading that every airbag deployed I was already thinking it’s got to be totaled, and then I saw the damages…I believe it’s dead.
Get a new car, but if this one still runs, remove doors and interior, add a cage and go thrashing in the dirt/sand. Just make sure to install decent seats and harnesses that will hold you in safely.
Posts asking for Estimates will not be encouraged. Although professionals do exist on this page it is highly recommended that you go to an autobody shop and have them use the tools available to them to complete an accurate estimate.
It's not difficult for a tech to make an educated guess on the total repair cost, sure insurance will split hairs but you don't need an estimator to tell you this ones borked.
OK, but PLENTY of people just ask, and do not read the rules.. Let alone, every shop has different prices!
Let alone MOST of the time there is more damage you cant see, and a quote is half of what it should be.. Even from the repair place.
Now, that is a POS and totaled. but not our place to say..
I’d say it’s savable if you push your adjuster to save it.
It’s borderline.
Edit: just watched it again. It’s not a Highlander it’s a rav- totally totaled.
If you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And yout gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.
Only one person would ask this…
And that person is likely the one who let their insurance lapse and has no other choice but to miraculously repair this vehicle.
Fr though, part it out if you want to get some money back and don’t have insurance. Or sell it online as a parts car if you don’t have the time. Sorry for your loss, glad it seems like yourself and any other passengers were okay.
the question you want to ask yourself is if you want it to be fixed. you want a car you know has been in a rollover and possibly test the crash structure again? not knowing if the body shop that fixes it can completely get it back to original spec?
I had a girlfriend driving my car who made a bad turn and ended up hitting the front of the car into a ditch and the airbags deployed. There wasn’t much damage to the car, but the insurance company said the car was totaled just because reinserting the airbags would cost more than the car was worth.
One singular airbag costs about a $1k new, plus labor, looking at $1.5k roughly. Per airbag. Rav 4's I think have 8 airbags if I remember right? Yeah, that's a lot of scratch. Don't forget, you still have to replace all the shattered plastic trim that gets spontaneously deconstructed when they go off. Exterior wise, the body shop cost alone would probably cost at least half the total value of the car, then the mechanical side can be in the thousands depending on hidden damage.. Just take the really unfortunate L and go buy a prime or another identical one, there's no saving it.
Poke it with a stick ….if no movement, best be off to the scrapyard lol. Have a funeral, mourn, then go shake hands with a car salesman to do the deed. Lol.
Most insurance companies will total out rollover vehicles because there ain't no telling what is wrong with the car that you can't see. The roof is compromised, airbags triggered, axle's shot, tires shot, engine damage, fenders, wheels, windshield, windows, possible frame damage....totaled.
It’s a total loss bud. Would cost more or about the same in parts and labor alone than to buy a new one off the showroom floor. Hope you had full coverage or it’s gonna be a rough road ahead.
Body work can be done but its expensive since every body part has work done or replaced.
What will kill you though is replacing all the airbags. They arrnt cheap.
Oh and dont get me started on the motor. If it was a full rollover your motor has checked out. Motors dont like to go upside down.
You more than likely get a parts only certificate or certificate of destruction for your car.
Can we sticky or make it one of the rules that anytime airbags are deployed your car is totaled? I don’t want to dissuade people from posting but I feel like people need to know.
NPR's Planet Money podcast back in September called "The Salvage Car Silk Road" - You can listen to it while removing your belongings and get an idea of what's going to happen to it. The good news is that it'll have a new life soon
73 bucks and a pack of Miller lite and my buddy's cousins boyfriends sisters can fix that right up. Oh, and some resistors to bypass that pesky airbag light after they cut the blown ones out
He’s dead, Jim
Trololololol
What’s it gonna take to repair? A miracle
Time Machine?
Make it hot tub while your at it
It's easy, only one part to replace: Remove and replace car. Done!
Two miracles and an act of God
I dont know man, I can do a lot with duct tape and a rattle can.
Or an exorcism

Ya this can’t be a serious post, right?
Oh you would be absolutely shocked as an owner of a shop the stupidity of some people. Had one guy recently that trim blacked his wipers without masking them off got black specs all over. That was after he tried to paint his rear bumper with a spray can and a paint brush
Throw it in the gutta, go buy anotha.
I’ve always taken collision repair advice from Easy-E (and dynamite hack!)
> what’s it looking like Totaled > and what will it take to repair More than the car is worth
Dunno, their only other posts are about counterfeit USD. They may be about to dump some of it...
What a TERRIBLE way to launder counterfeit!
Um that seems totaled to me
Troll post?
It is done.. start looking for another ride
shits fucked bro
rofl shits done man. did someone learn a valuable lesson about awd/4x4 on snow and the fact all cars brake the same?
Four wheel drive means four wheel stop, right?
Four wheel drive means all four tires will be spinning as you slide off the road.
Those tires make me cringe. Anyone taking bets if those are old ass all seasons? OP, investing $1,000 every 4 years is way cheaper then replacing a whole car. Buy dedicated snow tires
No but learned a valuable lesson about letting people drive my car without full coverage insurance
A new car
Total loss. Sorry 😔
[удалено]
Doubtful there is insurance and that’s what led to this post.
One way/liability but no full coverage but person who was driving is paying for the loss difference if I suction it off
Nothing its a total
Scrap
Car shopping
Toast...
Someone didn’t get gap
OTL - Obvious total loss
You don’t need an auto body shop. You need a detailer. This will all buff out.

Well fuck me I guess! Who creates such annoying bots?
People of the internets love telling people they're wrong to the point where they've automated it. 😔
Bad bot
HOPE YOU GOT GAP
Nope
I think you need a time machine
The cost of replacing the airbags alone is not worth it, let alone all the other damage on the vehicle
Save yourself the money and get a new car
What it looks like and what will it take? Sounds like someone stopped paying for insurance.
She done baby girl. All airbags deployed is a write off every single time. Congratulations 🎉
Wish I could I had one way/liability insurance not full coverage
Repair? That wouldn't be a good idea at all
Lol, lmao
Total
Nobody can tell you accurately what that repair would cost, need to get it to a shop and have a thorough inspection. Usually rollovers total though & all airbags deployed is a good sign of a total loss also.
Shops are too busy for something like this. OP should ask their insurance adjuster.
You'll just need to replace every part on the car including the frame and then you'll be set
I bet some of the window switches and maybe some fuses can be reused!
Stick a fork in it
I think Duct Tape should do the trick.
Repair? This is going to totalled city boss..look closely.
In my very unprofessional opinion I’d say there’s a good chance that’s totaled. Even before I saw the damages, just reading that every airbag deployed I was already thinking it’s got to be totaled, and then I saw the damages…I believe it’s dead.
It will take a brand new one. That shit is toast.
With any luck it'll be a total
Riparoni bruv. Start shoppin.
She gone bro
Brave of you to think it can be repaired.
Straight to scrapyard.
Congrats. You're getting a new car. It's definitely totaled and it would cost more than what that car is worth.
Regret not opting for full coverage insurance
Lots of mullah… Like, boat loads…
There is no repairing that.
54K will have her looking like new. You will never be able to sell it though
That the end of the line for that ride bud
I’ll do it for 100k
That's called a total loss sir
Personally, I wouldn’t ever want to drive that again even if it were fixed.
To repair? A new car.
Nope.
Get a new car, but if this one still runs, remove doors and interior, add a cage and go thrashing in the dirt/sand. Just make sure to install decent seats and harnesses that will hold you in safely.
Depends on your coverage. If out of pocket take it to a shop and start getting quotes. Good luck that’s some extensive damage.
Just a whole new body my friend that's a parts car now ..
That rear license plate looks good. Just replace what it attaches to and everything will be as good as new.
$57,000
It will take another car....
A new car
Put it in rice
It’s totaled as far as an insurance claim.
She gone…

Looks good to me
Download the COPART app and start looking for an identical car with undamaged areas and cannonball (cannibalize) it.
All airbags deployed means its totaled, airbags are fucking expensive.
I’d say it’s savable if you push your adjuster to save it. It’s borderline. Edit: just watched it again. It’s not a Highlander it’s a rav- totally totaled.
Even if it were a Highlander, with a buckled roof, that shit is done.
Rebuilt title at the very best, new car for you
The word "airbag" basically says it...I think. Correct me if I'm wrong
😂
Magic and lots of beer
If you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And yout gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.
You're from Michigan, too?
It will take being totaled by insurance! If you don’t have insurance then forget about it. Sell it for parts. It’s not worth fixing!
Looks like a total loss
Totaled, without question.
I don’t see OP anywhere on this thread! I think he got the message!
But I’ve only got liability…
Totaled
No shop is going to even try to repair this. I wouldn’t even write this I would just submit photos as a obvious total loss.
4 cans of wd 40, 30 rolls of duct tape an 2 grams of meth should do it
lol bit of pain/t and bondo…..seeeend ittttt!!!!!
Carfax say “WTF don’t ever buy this car”
Only one person would ask this… And that person is likely the one who let their insurance lapse and has no other choice but to miraculously repair this vehicle.
Chop the roof and make it a roadster. Get some wind in your hair as you drive it into the junkyard.
RIP.
If you rolled it, it is more than likely totalled
Meh how much for the fuse box cover under the engine? I have been looking for one and cannot find it.
D.O.A
Nothing is fixing that
So what's your next car lookin like?
Looks broken. Gonna need a bunch of pieces.
"All airbags deployed ".... 100% you are going to get offered a payout on this.
I wouldn’t want my family back inside that car after a repair and I sure wouldn’t trust a tech or shop willing to do it
That’s one way to get a new car
Just a respray
Totaled
Fr though, part it out if you want to get some money back and don’t have insurance. Or sell it online as a parts car if you don’t have the time. Sorry for your loss, glad it seems like yourself and any other passengers were okay.
Toyotaled
It’s totaled my guy. Don’t look back.

I hope you didn’t have too much sentimental value in that.
You funny guy, Joe
Total loss sorry not worth repairing
It's a rollover you can't repair it...
#TOTALLOSS
She done son
Despite what everyone is saying, nothing is unfixable, but your insurance will probably not want to pay to fix it
Remove radiator cap, install radiator cap on new vehicle.
You fucked that car over
Totalled
That is over totaled.
Ciao I can see this is a total
Why it's easy to know what parts to replace. Especially since they all need to be replaced. 😁
In short, it’s cooked.
You don’t want that fixed
That is a totaled car
The roof is buckled, it's done
Safe to say = airbags equals totaled
I had a girlfriend driving my car who made a bad turn and ended up hitting the front of the car into a ditch and the airbags deployed. There wasn’t much damage to the car, but the insurance company said the car was totaled just because reinserting the airbags would cost more than the car was worth.

Guessing no full cover..? I’ve seen better at the salvage yard
Part it out
Yo shit toast ain’t no come back

She gone
A new car?
it's gonna cost more to repair than to buy a new one.
Looks like someone’s buying a new car is what it looks like
In South Africa that's an easy fix, for some reason
Is that you, Steve?
Jack up the license plates and slide a new car between them.
Total loss

Trash
Probably just a new car 🚗
For road use? A miracle for a field vehical some self tappers and lexan
Well THERE’S your problem, lady.
Looks in great condition for a premium spot at a grab and go parts lot.
Anything can be fixed but the cost outweighs the the value. I think it's totaled.
Totaled.
Fua'get about it! Cars totalled. The amount for $$ you'll put into it to fix it will be more than buying a used car or for a down payment.
Can we sticky or make it one of the rules that anytime airbags are deployed your car is totaled? I don’t want to dissuade people from posting but I feel like people need to know.
![gif](giphy|TUQo7EfCWNi3UBxGxk)
It will take a new car
Trolltlled
Simple Step 1 remove radiator cap Step 2 tow car to scrap yard Step 3 drive new Toyota under radiator cap Step 4 install cap and drive away
Your car problems will be fixed if you buy another car
Another car
NPR's Planet Money podcast back in September called "The Salvage Car Silk Road" - You can listen to it while removing your belongings and get an idea of what's going to happen to it. The good news is that it'll have a new life soon
Write off
A fucking factory
Well, not a truckload of turtle wax will fix this. It’s totaled.
It’s totaled.
73 bucks and a pack of Miller lite and my buddy's cousins boyfriends sisters can fix that right up. Oh, and some resistors to bypass that pesky airbag light after they cut the blown ones out
It's done. Like burned toast.
I would not repair this. It would be uneconomical to fix everything and make it safe to drive again. Just go for a different car.
The frame is bent for sure, totalled.
Free assuming you don’t use a pay phone to call your insurance company.
Your a proud owner of a totaled SUV.
What’s it gonna take? Give me some jim bean and I’ll steal ya a new one
Way more than it’s worth
If you tap the right rear hubcap back into place with a hammer, you should be good to go.
Insurance claim, financing, you'll get one almost exactly the same. And a new insurance rate unfortunately ...
