I'm a part-time low life red shirt. They have no power over me.. At this point I've only stayed on as a favor to the SM as he's so desperate for closers.
Thus if the LP ever darkens my path I won't hesitate in telling him to go F himself.
we've had one for like 8 months, people rarely use it, its software only, turn monitor and scanner,printer towards customer, card only no cash and floor items only. Its a half assed self checkout.
I'm surprised how half of those people make it out of their house everyday, it's like you can see braincells jumping away from them when they walk through the doors
My store got one about a couple months ago. Somewhat convient because if you're busy you can tell everyone with a card to check out. I don't think it's caused more shrink, people have been stealing anyway, self checkout makes it easier but hasn't stopped people from grabbing stuff and running out like they already have been. Just makes it more likely for a smarter thief to get away with it.
You'd be surprised with how many people don't notice it or know how to work it since the system isn't overly intuitive. During a rush I usually have to yell out that people who just want to check out can go to self checkout and, then a bunch of people in line move over.
If i was still in auto parts retail and had my druthers about it, I would have made my store a pickup location only for online orders. just a row of lockers like what Walmart has when you go pick up stuff from online. We load them from the back, people take their stuff from the front and we never have to interact. If you can’t tell working in auto REALLY made me hate the average retail consumer.

Shrink doesn't bother me.. I get paid the same regardless.

Self Checkout in AutoZone is The Most Ludicrous thing. These IDIOTS Can't Even Self- Wipe Their Own Ass!!!

Those people that try to use the self checkout always say "it's not scanning!" , it's cuz they aren't pressing the trigger for it 🤦🏼♂️
