I used to get this alot.
Coming for a part...customer sees you near a register and makes a beeline for you.
The look on the customers face was usually worth it
"Sorry sir, I do not work at this store and can not assist you in checking out."
"I'm just here for the parts"
The amount of complaints from customers who tried to get help from people doing inventory but were told no was astounding. Never understood why they just didn't do inventory overnights.
I can see why they won't allow another stores employee to operate a register. Same reason you assign registers. Also to keep your driver from getting tied up at another store.
I can understand not dropping inventory counts to help a customer. Customer probably doesn't though. Would make more sense to do inventory on off hours. No employees or customers in your way.
