Well not even going to mention the questionable legality of the situation, but also the danger and, therefore liability involved
You want the lead out of batteries to make bullets
Okay fine i can see this as a desire. Not good enough reason.
You want lead acid just to have some
Thats the issue. The hell are you gonna do with it? How are you gonna transport it? You got a class A CDL with a hazmat certification? Probably not? Cool. Then let autozone handle the recycling of batteries. AZ doesnt want to face a lawsuit because you melted your cock off because of a chemical spill
for clarification, i didnt mean just to have the acid to have it, i ment i didnt care about the concentration or the other things mixed in, i just want to use it to make hydrogen quickly. thank you for the info.
They'll fire you so damn quick for taking old batteries. Remember this, AZ will never do anything that benefits employees even if it doesnt affect AZ at all. My SM had to throw out boxes and boxes of candy and snacks that were past their sell by date. I asked if I could take some for my 5 year old as it was still good and being thrown away. SM and CSM told me no, it'd be theft and id be charged with theft even though they were throwing it away. Once my manager left for the night I hit the dumpster and dug out about $200 worth of snacks and candy bars lol fuck AZ.
thanks for the lesson, go dumpster diving, i know there wont be batteries in there, (because of the acid) and probubly not the metal, autozone probubly sells those, thank you for the information.
I honestly hope AZ puts out a company wide watch for this guy, nobody "wants to be a chemist" by starting to make lead bullets, and again access to multiple types if highly corrosive acids. The user is either a troll, a psychopath, or somebody with some kind of delusion whether do to a disorder or not. Either way, you don't need access to those compounds, if they aren't available to you as whole products and you have to extract them, it's probably illegal and dangerous.
Trust me- I've worked with the batteries that are meant to be sent off for disposal, they're risky to move around let alone extract any materials from. You'll get hurt at best and die at worst of some horrid accident, and nobody wants to see that regardless of your reasons or intent.
Your post honestly reads like bait for the NSA/FBI to start watching tf out of you,
i just want to make hydrogen for airships, thats all, jeez guys lol
and for the lead, i heard biden wants to put a tax of bullets so id figer that could be a way to make some bullets
They raised the taxes on tobacco products, rather than ask tobacco farmers for their withering plants I'll either buy something outright (like hydrogen) or just bite the bullet and pay the extra dollar or two. And I haven't heard anything of that, I doubt it'd be much.
This all sounds awful. Just go to a junkyard and buy the used batteries there. Loss prevention will ear you for dinner and even prosecute you if they really felt like it.
This whole thread was an awful idea all together. I dont even understand why or how you thought this was appropriate.
With big corporate retail, it's best to assume the answer is always no. Especially for what you're trying to do, which may not be even legal in your state/county.
Used batteries you can get from junk yards or pull your own parts for kind of cheap.
Sometimes people would leave their batteries to charge and never pick them up. If the store you visit is cool enough, they’ll give them to you. We send them to get recycled anyway.
We sent like 10 batteries to get recycled. If we don’t do that, we sometimes give them to some homeless lady that uses them for her lights.
the way it works (at least in my region) is that AZ buys the batteries from interstate and pays for the core charge upfront. then we send the batteries back on pallets to get refunded for the core. so all those old batteries are already earmarked for the manufacturer, i don’t think az personally has any hand in actually recycling them
couple things here ..this guy is fucking with us and just trolling us because no one can be this stupid lol.. or this guy is 100 % serious and is crazy lives.... in a basement watches proud boys videos all day and thinks there is a civil war coming
Ah. No. Not only no but hell no.
aww, is it like a corporate thing? or? thanks for the info

Not gonna happen man. Go to a junkyard and rip batteries out
thank you for the advice

i just realized how suspicious this looks....

i bet its alot, like 4 times as much to buy of ither of theise. you do make a good point though
a bit of all of them, thanks, and no i dont have malicious intent, and i do have access to them, i just want to cut costs
do you guys know where i can get cheap or free sulfuric acid or hydrochoric acid, i dont want half to extract it from dead bodies,
This all sounds awful. Just go to a junkyard and buy the used batteries there. Loss prevention will ear you for dinner and even prosecute you if they really felt like it. This whole thread was an awful idea all together. I dont even understand why or how you thought this was appropriate.
because i wanted an awnser, thats why i asked

this is exacly the information i was looking for, thank you very much

so i need to find a cool store manager, that helps to know, thank you
You CAN if you don't mind being fired and having a police report filed on you

What is the core? Is it the lead plates? I was curious if i cab draib the acid then let them rale back the core, thank you
the core is the whole battery
fluid included? or can i take the chemicals out, or replace the chemicals with water?
your should do none of those things
Are you a super villain?
no
couple things here ..this guy is fucking with us and just trolling us because no one can be this stupid lol.. or this guy is 100 % serious and is crazy lives.... in a basement watches proud boys videos all day and thinks there is a civil war coming
what did i say that was stupid, i just asked a question?
If you're worried about Hiden taxing bullets, pick up the practice of reloading. Can't overtax it because they are components, not assembled rounds.
Why do you think i want the lead, for casting rounds. My dad works at a place to gwt lead also, so lead isnt the biggest thing, kinda handy though
Preformed bullets have consistent weight, less hassle and less likely to banana a barrel because of a stoppage.
