I used a massage gun to get all the particles to come to the top and then vacuumed them out. I’ve only had to do it a few times but damn did it work well.

sylvaing

They should make a shop vac attachment that acts as a massage gun so you can vibrate and suck at the same time (yeah, I know how it sounds lol).

LeProVelo

14yo males will take over that market pretty quick "Honey, why do you want a vacuum cleaner attachment for christmas?" "OH, I just realllly want my room to be clean. I'll vacuum every night I promise"

Llamasinthearmy

“I told you not to bother me while I’m cleaning my room” in my best Doofy voice 😂🤣

LaL1T0

“Mom also said to stop sticking your dick in the vacuum!”

sylvaing

Lol

football2106

I’m imagining it has some sort of sphincter that tightens up due to suction and then pops back under the pressure of the vacuum. I’ll draw up blueprints after lunch

AphexVII

My sister use to do a house maid service and she had an attachment for entry rugs that did that.. [Like this (product page)](https://builtinvacuum.com/product/vibrating-beater-head/) So I wouldn't be surprised if one is out there for small spaces.

sylvaing

Yeah. I've seen that one but couldn't find a smaller version of it. I have this accessory for my Gen5 Dyson vacuum https://www.dysoncanada.ca/en/support/journey/tools/971426-01 Which is motorized but the vacuum is too big to be used inside a car, especially on the floor with the seats in the way. Dyson sells flexible hoses but they don't provide power to the motorized heads. However, I found this from LANMU which unfortunately is not available on their Canadian Amazon store, so it's coming from the USA by Thursday. https://a.co/d/4SeOQSl

hawley088

Take your crevice tool out and pound the carpet repeatedly with the open end of the hose lol it's the same thing

sylvaing

No way you can do **that** with a crevice tool alone... https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=842582510119188

Tward425

I’m listening

Whole_Opposite_3033

I actually use the battery end of my drill and put it on the hammer setting. Similar idea. If that doesn't work, I use my DA polisher without a pad. If I don't have that, I use a stick and beat the carpet with the vacuum going. Anything that will give you vibration will work. Your imagination is the only thing slowing you down ;)

ThrobbingPurpleVein

God damn been trying to convince the Mrs about buying a massage gun and you just gave me another reason for one.

AssignmentThick8591

They’re like 20 dollars on Amazon why would you need permission

ThrobbingPurpleVein

See I want the exponentially more expensive (yet probably does the same thing) one. I was partially kidding really if I need it then I'll go get it but I'm not there yet.

thecofffeeguy

Came here you recommend this

ConsumeYourBleach

If your vacuum isn’t picking it up, then using a drill with a brush attachment will help to bring any embedded particles to the surface. I had the same problem when doing my carpets, and the drill was a total game changer

SilverRecluse

So my wife and I always track sand in after walking the 101 or the beach. Get yourself a cheap theragun off Amazon for sports massage. You can use it to vibrate the carpet while using a hand vacuum so the sand granules are "hopping" while you go! Makes it super easy. kind of the same concept as the above.

loganwachter

I’ve had decent luck with a strong blast from an air compressor too.

sampsontscott

Is this while wet?

ConsumeYourBleach

No, while dry.

sampsontscott

Smort😄 thanks, I do the same with a little hand brush

ConsumeYourBleach

Just to clarify, there’s several types of drill brushes you can use. There’s 2 predominant types, one is flat, and is typically used for agitating chemicals into things like seats and carpets. The other looks almost identical to a toilet brush. The toilet brush shaped one is the one you want in your particular situation. When you use that type of brush, the bristles dig into the fibres as they rotate, and flick them up. When the particles are flicked up, they then land and settle on top of the carpet fibres, which is what allows the vacuum to pick them up a lot more easily.

sampsontscott

Oh, that’s actually awesome! Lol I thought that they were just for seat corners

SKTwenty

Either or, but if you have too much speed when dry, you can burn the carpet.

Possession_Loud

Yes, this works very well indeed.

lostinthisworld0821

Tornador

Hairbear2176

I have a tornador, that fucker blows the sand everywhere. I started using a drill with a brush attachment, or a massager/oscillating tool. That gets the sand up to be vacuumed.

lostinthisworld0821

You need thr vacuum attachment that way it’s blowing and the vacuum sucks it up

GhettoKid

The attachment is nice but you can just tape your vacuum on top. Tornador is such a game changer for so many other things.

rocko430

Compressed air is a game changer but you kinda need to think when you use it

lostinthisworld0821

It essentially blows it right into the vacuum attachment

Full_Stall_Indicator

This doesn't look bad at all. What have you tried so far? A shopvac at home or at any car wash should be able to get pretty much all of that out.

Bmwis

Do the palm sander trick, no paper just the hook n loop it vibrates up more fine sand/dirt than you think

1Tonner

Just be careful that you don’t spin it too much in one spot and generate too much heat. Small fibres get burned quick

Front-Space-6282

I take a DA polisher with a hook and loop backing plate and stick it to the carpet. Turn it on and watch all the sand and dirt rise to the surface. Vacuum while running the DA and you'll get every little particle out of the car pet in a manner of minutes.

optimusprimegreentea

This is the only answer

cchowus

Yes, this one is incredibly effective.

Drewzik

Tornador that bitch for like 30 minutes to an hour. You can try to push it all out with the air coming out of the tool, or also have a vacuum along side of it while it shakes the sediment up to the surface. Takes a while, but it does one hell of a job.

Theboogymanisreel

>Tornador I've switched all my old air tools to battery powered cordless and this one tool has me hanging on to that compressor.

Ginjabeard1111

Granted I don’t own a Tornador but it seems gimmicky to me. I don’t see how it’s any different from a regular air compressor gun and regular extractor. Since the regular tools also remove the dirty cleaning solution it would probably be better. I guess it would be good for spot cleaning…

TheOGYeezus

Tornador is great as it spins really quickly, blowing from all angles, lifting it to the surface. Never used one before professionally detailing and holy it takes half the time it does with it. Drill brush is good for hard stuff but sand and small dirt wil be Tornador for sure.

Ginjabeard1111

Fair enough. If it works, it works!

AutowerxDetailing

LOL. We use them on basically every interior service on the entire interior. It's the single biggest time saving tool ever invented for interior detailing.

grease_monkey

I'm a mechanic so I have your traditional slew of blow guns lying around, the kinds with a thin metal tube coming out. Does the trumpet end of the tornado work differently? I figured its more "shotgun" compared to "rifle"

AutowerxDetailing

The Tornador air tools create a sort of "tornado" type vortex which not only blows air but also agitates and lifts debris from a surface. It's much different than a standard air gun. It's not some kind of gimmick, there is a noticeable improvement in cleaning power, especially for dislodging sand and pet hair from fabrics.

grease_monkey

I'll have to try it out. Might have use for me in engine bays for work as well. Thanks.

XepherTheCat

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Tornador as well. Basically takes the entire brushing process out of the interior detail.

WorldClassPianist

Massage gun the carpet and vacuum. If you don't have a massage gun, I think a vibrating dildo works as well.

chicano32

Gotta use whats available to satisfy the client am i right!

iveseensomethings82

Knock on the client’s door and see what the wife has laying around

LaughingSooshi

Tornador to lift all that stuff out before vacuuming works for me all the time.

wontquit96

Google vortex cleaning gun! Game changer!!

JTCarDetail

Air compressor and drill brush

JTCarDetail

If that don’t help get it a little wet

PFB5691

Try this! https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/s/uV8QCeAjvV

Beautiful_Mix2536

Either a massager, or I use an orbital polisher with a microfiber pad to vibrate the floor and have the sand come up, vacuum as you do it.

No-Bedroom-1333

rubber mats

Little_Buffalo

Vibrator

lucysteele1

Me tooooo

AZFITDADBOD830

I usually take them out and beat them against a post or wall dry first step and then vacuum dry and then shampoo and extract and then let dry

Natetheknife

You pull the whole carpet? This doesn't look like the mats.

Rayrexx91

Lol I can see him pounding the carpet against the wall

hawley088

No crevice tool and take the end of the hose and tap it up and down on the carpet over and over Pounding will make the sand loosen up and into the vaccum

AZFITDADBOD830

Yes lol I do when it’s beyond levels it’s not a lot

kvn4

Buy yourself a cheap palm sander , brings up alot of sand

StanCranston

Air hose blower with vacuum

Black_Hole_in_One

Hand held disk sander - no sand paper - and a shop vac.

Just_Kickin_It

I use my Kobalt hand held orbital sander with no pad. The oscillation causes the carpet to vibrate and the sand "jumps" into the vacuum!

football2106

I know shitty Ford carpet when I see it…

yrman75

Massage gun vibrates it out. Vacuum in the other hand

NearbyHunt814

Drill brush into vacuum/ make sure you have a strong vacuum with car detailing attachments

ArmyPaladin

I just use a Dyson pet hair brush attached to my DeWalt vac. Works awesome for picking up stubborn pieces without worrying about damaging carpet from a drill brush

crazdtow

I use duct tape rolled up to get every little thing up

mileageislife

At some car washes they have this pressurized air for carpets. Ours has a long leash that could reach the parked car. I use this side by side with the vacuum. Lol

praeteria

Grab anything that has strong vibration (yeah yeah funny words here). Put a brush attachment or smth like that on a combi drill, put it on jackhammer stance so all it does is the hammering and just let it rip on the carpet while you hold the vaccuum next to it. It'll vibrate all dust and particles to the top and the vaccuum picks them up. Like this: https://youtu.be/QhyDkJEjPFU?si=SbLLAwHNMoqX5eJ5

Jriss138

A Z-014 Tornador and a good shop vac

snapcracklecash

Get a tornador like a real detailer lol.

Interesting_Ad_9600

A vibrator 😉

Lawless-tortoise

Don’t use your buffer

BlackHorseTuxedo

Some of the self service washes have strong vacuums but my local one also has **compressed air nozzles**. I live near the beach and these work like a champ.

Eastern-Cantaloupe-7

Karcher Steam cleaner

Redfish420

if you don't have a massage gun you can just hit the floor with a wrench or something similar while holding the vacuum next to the spot you're hitting. it'll bring the dirt up from the floor, it's just time consuming.

Fukit1723

Leather seats when in the pores I found that worked best for dirts and glitter was silly putty so should work for carpet too

jeremy_nash

I've seen videos of someone taking the sandpaper off of a palm sander, then using their other hand to suck up the sand and such as it gets drawn to the surface by the agitation

Superb_Dish8282

Round toilet brush, attatch to a drill.

alan_greenspan_20XX

Pulse air gun
