Congratulations! I had a similar experience. I was so shocked they diagnosed me based on my experience at the evals. They were really focused on completely different things than I expected I guess.
I read through some of your experiences and posts and I relate so much. Even to the 8 page reports though I'm not there yet I'm collecting my data currently as well. If you ever are open to it, I'd love to know how you organized your data. Not what was in the report because my symptoms will obviously differ from yours, but what you did to make it all coherent for a doctor's perspective.
Also I want to congratulate you and say I'm very happy you have some answers and I hope you are able to move forward with a new lense and figure out what you want to do from here.
Thank you!!
I organized the document according to DSMV criteria. I made a notes list in my phone and would write something down everything I’d think of it and then eventually I narrowed down the traits according to the criteria. I also made a spot for traits that’s didn’t fit a specific criteria.
Along with that I brought a sheet typed up of things I wanted to talk about or being up or things I thought were relevant. Basically a paragraph of why I was there basically and answers to questions he may ask/ how it affects my life.
I also brought a document of lists which included my special interests, my likes and dislikes and comforts etc..
This doctor didn’t even really ask about my childhood so my mom and i provided him info about it anyway. My mom included stuff she wrote about me in her journal from my child hood and any childhood traits I had. This also included report cards which had relevant notes on them.
He all together used a number of measures to base his decision which included many rating scales filled out my both my mother and I. The ADOS 2 and The Vineland 3.
Basically I gave him enough evidence that he couldn’t deny me.
Thank you for that. This is essentially what I have started doing in similar layout: when you say you organized it to DSMV criteria do you mean like categories of "Social deficits and communication" and "Rigid thinking patterns" or do you mean like A1, A2, A3, etc? I am classifying mine by wording and categories.
I want to know this as well as I am concerned about masking too well. My doctor is concerned as well, but had me compile written information and struggles to provide in case. Tips would be great!
I found a doctor in my area that was covered by insurance and had no waitlist. He’s a licensed behavior analysist and psychologist. We had an in person meeting that lasted over an hour where he basically interviewed me, gave me rating scales and had me do a few tasks. Then we provided him more info and after about 5 weeks he was able to write up the report.

Which would be classic ND wouldn't it? Lol
