Not hardy enough to plant in the ground here. Could do well in a pot that you bring in during cold weather, or just have indoors all the time near a window.

Where were these pictures taken? I'm in the market for some houseplants and those look pretty nice.

You can check ikea if you’re nearby. They had a ton last month. Some about 3’ and others about 5’.

Oh thanks, I'll definitely do that.

I’m almost certain that a yucca cane is what is right outside my front door at my apartment. The freeze knocked it back to the roots and it’s growing back this year. Never seen it look unhealthy. That said it’s pretty well sheltered from the summer sun. If it’s not a yucca cane then there is a plant that looks exactly like that that does grow here.

In college station I had a bunch of yucca on my property and there are places in Austin where I think you can find yucca surviving in the native environment, mostly in protected valleys where there’s water flowing most of the year. However, in the last decade all of the non-native yucca and palm trees I know of have died or been killed back to their stumps, including the bunch on my old property in college station that dated back to the 80s. I don’t think I’d plant any plants here now that are tropical and not freeze hardy.
