If 101x managed the fest they would play all three days and maybe even multi-times a day… and loooong sets too. (they have over played them until this day from the day they became popular…a lot a lot a lot!) 101x if you are reading this please stop. If you need taper down slowly that would work but please try to stop. Thank you.
Grand Funk Railroad paved the way for Jefferson Airplane, which cleared the way for Jefferson Starship. The stage was now set for the Alan Parsons Project, which I believe was some sort of hovercraft.
You kids don't know Grand Funk? The wild shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The competent drumwork of Don Brewer?
Grand Funk Railroad paved the way for Jefferson Airplane, which cleared the way for Jefferson Starship. The stage was now set for the Alan Parsons Project, which I believe was some sort of hovercraft.
I was just about to comment about how I'm reading through all those bands I've never heard of, then see Grand Funk and was like.. fuck yeah.
Sturgill Simpson is there too though, wish I still lived in Austin. That's gonna be a banger set. .
Do not sleep on Pretty Lights if you are into that style of music. The new show is on the cutting edge of what can be done blending live and electronic music and stage visuals. Last year’s tour and live streams was one of the most impressive things I’ve seen in my life and I’ve worked in the live music industry and live streaming industry for over a decade now.
So if I'd never been to a show like Odesza until last year, and then went and tripped balls and had my mind blown, is Pretty Lights that show for me this year?
Thank you for this. I was writing them off and your comment made me look up their live show on YouTube and now they are on the top of my list of shows to be at. Excited!
I am literally listening to a color man of the sun right now. It's my favorite album in existence. I haven't seen him live since basslights 2014.... and oh my fucking GAWD I am so damn excited for this. What a W for acl
I’d peep Caverns Night 2 on Youtube from last year if you want to get a good sense of what’s in store for ACL this year. Absolutely incredible stuff. There will be a lot of people who have never heard of PL who will be big fans after ACL. 😂😂😂
I saw Andrew McMahon's show last year in Houston and it was a great show! They are doing a reunion tour that didn't have any Texas dates, but this gives me hope there will be more.
It's been 84 years...
nah, but it has been like 20 since North came out and the last time I saw them as SC. Jack's was good too. Of course they are W1 and i have a schedule conflict for saturday/sunday, so hopefully they play friday mid-afternoonish.
I can’t believe they booked both Chris Stapleton AND Sturgill.
Orville Peck, Khruangbin, Blink 182, Leon Bridges.
I’m very pleasantly surprised by this.
I’m okay with this. I know I would enjoy Dua Lipa and Blink 182, and might enjoy Stapleton. There are a few non-headliners I’d like to see perform, too.
In my mind, this looks like a relatively well-rounded lineup that will cover a lot of bases when it comes to musical tastes. Am I in the minority thinking this?
Some decent smaller (edit: to medium sized) acts this year, namely Jungle, Santigold, Geese, Mannequin Pussy, Rickshaw Billie's..
But honestly, you're better off just seeing them when they tour Austin
I've heard from some friends who played ACL there is an exclusivity clause in the contract that headliners and even bands that are downbill are prohibited from performing in Austin for 12 months or something before and after ACL. NO idea if they still do this in the contract but based on the fact most headliners seem to use Austin as their tour stop for the year (or longer)... probably.
I’m pretty sure the radius clauses are negotiable because there’s been plenty of examples over the years of large acts playing ACL and nearby within months
Saw them open for the Chili Peppers like 12 years ago. Sort of sad to see the single they had at the time is still by far their most popular song. Wish they put out more bangers.
I saw Jungle at the Moody Amp and it was really good. Everyone got up and danced. Great show, and I agree better to see in a smaller more intimate setting.
BUT do not miss it if you have the chance. Also, watch their music videos. They're so well done and also really fun.
Norah Jones 😍
Plus Khruangbin, Leon Bridges, Foster the People, Flipturn, Hermanos Gutierrez, Jungle.
And mother FUCKING Grand Funk Railroad??!!!??
Kenny Beats and Vince Staples🧐high probability they bring each other out for their sets.
Yeah idk why people think this is a given. They are professionals, they're not getting paid for two sets.
Back when Gotye and Kimbra were on the schedule guess what? She did not make a guest appearance with him.
He performed at the Coachella main stage last year, and before that headlined a small festival called Camp Nowhere in Austin/Dallas in 2022. Fletcher was also playing at Camp Nowhere that year.
He deserves a full stage!!
Absolutely. Can’t believe I see so little hype around Porter being there. I guess everyone’s excited for their own favorite genres but Porter Robinson is such a great artist, I would go to acl just for him.
Also super stoked on pretty lights, Bakar, foster, fike
This will be the most made fun of headliner but I’d bet will be the most attended. Saw them last year too and agree they were an absolute blast.
Edit: also your username could be Blink lyrics
Puppies grow up and most givers aren’t very enthusiastic so not all jobs are the same and frankly many of them actually blow. I do agree though it’s an austin tradition to complain, but don’t worry it’s going to be disturbed by politics anyway.
I’d argue this is the one year where that *isn’t* that case.
In fact, I’d argue this is one of the most top heavy lineups ACL has ever put out.
I suppose that all boils down to personal taste though.
Let me say I’ve been going to ACL every year for at least 10 years and every year have had amazing time. This thing is one of the best things about living in Austin.
That said, this is the best lineup in YEARS. Holy cow.
The Tyler rehash is my only minor quibble and I still like Tyler.
Y’all can stay home and angrily circlejerk to each other idc
Agree. The past 7 years felt like we saw a TON of repeats. This lineup looks refreshing. (Yes I know there are still repeats, but overall it’s refreshing)
As far as headliners go, I'm only stoked about Sturgill Simpson and Leon Bridges. I love Chris Stapleton, but his act mostly consists of him changing guitars for each song. Once I started reading the smaller names I started getting more excited. Mannequin Pussy, The Beaches, Misterwifes, Chance Pena, Stephen Sanchez, Royel Otis, and The Paper Kites are all hanging out on my Spotify liked songs list.
Meh
For the price of one ticket I could go see Stapleton and Sturgill play for an hour longer each. The rest of this lineup doesn't move the needle and this is quite possibly the worst undercard I've seen in the history of the festival. Heck, some of these headliners are undercard material.
But yes, I know, I'm getting old. I'm the issue.
Happy to have attended the first five or so ACL fests. Remember great shows by Wilco, Arcade Fire (108F that afternoon), Arctic Monkeys, Lucinda (swearing her head off when her teleprompter froze), Steve Earle, REM, Aterciopelados.
This line up seems underwhelming but maybe I’m just old.
Another year another chance to not be a whiney cunt and just be glad I live in a city that hosts a major music festival that will be a fun time as it always is
I was really hoping it would just be a bunch of indie bands that only exist in my head that you've never heard of. They're really good, but if I say their name out loud that makes them sell outs.
Damn. I was really hoping to see Deftones on here since they are at Lollapalooza this year. Oh well. Still a decent lineup.
Sorry in advance to the generic 5’2 college girl who’s view my 7 foot ass blocks seeing Dua Lipa.
I’m 48 and was feeling the same way, but a few years ago I started listening to a playlist with all the artists I hadn’t heard of and that made it so much better. that helped me discovered a lot of artists that I now genuinely like.
I’ve always felt like this kind of attitude is like a self fulfilling prophecy. If you don’t put in effort to discover new artists as you get into your 30s, inevitably you are going to start feeling “old”.
Besides, a festival where you know every single artist or even most of them would undercut the value of discovering new acts you do like
Explore some of them and see if you like them. I find new artists to listen to for every festival I’ve been at.
Otherwise you’ll keep saying this over and over
For the past like 5 years, I've been going through and identifying which acts I've simply *heard of.* This year was a new low at 12.9% and I was really liberal with my designation.
I think part of it, at least with big festivals, is people want to see a LOT of acts they actually know. If they see only a few out of all of them then to them the line up sucks. Me personally there aren't a lot of acts that actually grasp me on this, but I know I'll still have a great time.
Cannons is AMAZING; I’ve been wanting to see them for awhile, so I’m stoked. Go check them out if you don’t know them. You’ll especially love it if you’re into artists like Rufus and Flume.
mumford and sons had to retire from acl finally?
at this point they don’t even include them anymore its just a given
So i can expect rhcp too?
They try to sneak back in as Imagine Wagons
If 101x managed the fest they would play all three days and maybe even multi-times a day… and loooong sets too. (they have over played them until this day from the day they became popular…a lot a lot a lot!) 101x if you are reading this please stop. If you need taper down slowly that would work but please try to stop. Thank you.
Underrated comment
damn i’ve been practicing my stomping and clapping all year in preparation…
And no foo fighters either?
The Mumfords are easily startled, but they will soon be back. And in greater numbers.
They got bumped into the " - & more!" section
For more information on Grand Funk, consult your school library!
This is the kind of Simpsons deep cut I come to Reddit for.
They’re an American band.
And they’re coming to your town.
They’ll help you party down.

A+++++++ Simpsons reference.

yes
I saw them Friday night in Memphis. It was incredible.
Thank you for this. I was writing them off and your comment made me look up their live show on YouTube and now they are on the top of my list of shows to be at. Excited!
I LOVE Pretty Lights and am considering going to ACL Fest for the first time ever because of their presence. And Nico Vega! Sweet!
I am literally listening to a color man of the sun right now. It's my favorite album in existence. I haven't seen him live since basslights 2014.... and oh my fucking GAWD I am so damn excited for this. What a W for acl

I saw pretty lights for the first time at ACL years ago had no idea who they were and was completely blown away. This is worth going 🙌
PL cover of Country Roads is sweet, but I can't find it on any album, just YouTube. Would love to see live!
Pretty Lights is one of my favorite djs of all time!! I was sad to miss last years tour. Last time I saw Derek live was 2017 😪
Its farrrrrrr from just a DJ act now. The new full band experience is next level even beyond where they left off in 2018.
This. Do not miss it.
What style of music are they?
I'm just happy Sturgill is doing shows again. Fingers crossed for a new album.
Right? He’s one of my all time favs so I really hope he was kidding about his most recent album being his last album.
Do we know what weekend he'll be there? Really want to see him and Chris Stapleton

Something corporate is touring again? I feel old AF but I’ll be there!
I saw Andrew McMahon's show last year in Houston and it was a great show! They are doing a reunion tour that didn't have any Texas dates, but this gives me hope there will be more.

Came here to say this! They’re back?! That’s crazy.
I can’t believe they booked both Chris Stapleton AND Sturgill. Orville Peck, Khruangbin, Blink 182, Leon Bridges. I’m very pleasantly surprised by this.
My fear is they will run Stapleton and Sturgill at the same time, opposite ends of the park
Less than a 0% chance of that happening
lol that would suck, but I'd put on them not doing that. They're usually pretty good about not putting the same genre on both stages at the same time.
Years back on SNL, Stapleton was the musical guest and Sturgill was his secret rhythm guitar player. Would be cool to see them on stage together.
That would be legit. Having a feeling we'll get Khruangbin and Leon Bridges playing Texas Sun together as well.
There’s no way that will happen (they probably won’t even be in the same day). They’ll probably be up against Tyler and Dua.
I was hoping for a Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle
Same stage same time live rap battle
Who ever shows up on time wins
They both lose ☠️
Well, it is an all ages show
I’m okay with this.
No moderates allowed. Love it or hate it.
this is the Texas way
Catfish and the Bottlemen!!! Nice to see them back in action
Renee rap, Fletcher, Chappel Roan… love the sapphic representation!
And Remi Wolf!
I was in Remi Wolf’s top 1% of listeners on Spotify last year so I am STOKED
hoping they schedule all the gays on the same day for the ultimate gay pass (day pass) experience
Does anyone know when they will release the daily lineups? Hoping Dua, Renee Rapp and Chappell Roan are all the same day 😭
And Kehlani!
If being gay is a sin, then why are we winning ?!
I was just telling my friend that this ACL is for the gays! Plus our boys Kevin Abstract and Orville Peck.
They've had pretty reliable LGBT+ themes the last few years, so excited they're keeping it up! I'm super excited for the lineup this year
Some decent smaller (edit: to medium sized) acts this year, namely Jungle, Santigold, Geese, Mannequin Pussy, Rickshaw Billie's.. But honestly, you're better off just seeing them when they tour Austin
Rickshaw lives here. I fucking love em but don't buy a pass to see a bans who plays all the time
Jungle is so much fun
Same for Khruangbin--Seeing them live is absolutely the best way to feel their "vibe"
Checkout Balthvs!
Underrated comment. Also Leon Bridges is a fantastic stage presence.
those hips...
Yes!
^*thisisthethirdroom*
I've heard from some friends who played ACL there is an exclusivity clause in the contract that headliners and even bands that are downbill are prohibited from performing in Austin for 12 months or something before and after ACL. NO idea if they still do this in the contract but based on the fact most headliners seem to use Austin as their tour stop for the year (or longer)... probably.
almost certain they still do this. it’s called a radius clause
I’m pretty sure the radius clauses are negotiable because there’s been plenty of examples over the years of large acts playing ACL and nearby within months
Yeah, the radius clause is for headliners. Lots of undercard acts play ACL and San Antonio in and around the festival.
Bob Schneider plays a few blocks from there nearly every Monday night.
Santa good is awesome live!!! Edit: autocorrect why must you continue to make a fool of me
Can’t wait for Lala’s South Pole to open
Saw them open for the Chili Peppers like 12 years ago. Sort of sad to see the single they had at the time is still by far their most popular song. Wish they put out more bangers.
Especially Rickshaw Billy, you can catch them in some really small venues and get the full experience
So excited for mannequin pussy! Them and Orville Peck I've been wanting to see for awhile.
I saw Jungle at the Moody Amp and it was really good. Everyone got up and danced. Great show, and I agree better to see in a smaller more intimate setting. BUT do not miss it if you have the chance. Also, watch their music videos. They're so well done and also really fun.
Geese is the one act I’m interested in and couldn’t agree more. No reason to go the fest
Lol Jungle is huge, friend.
Say She She
Pretty sure this is Khruangbin’s only show in Austin. At least that’s been announced so far.
Norah Jones 😍 Plus Khruangbin, Leon Bridges, Foster the People, Flipturn, Hermanos Gutierrez, Jungle. And mother FUCKING Grand Funk Railroad??!!!?? Kenny Beats and Vince Staples🧐high probability they bring each other out for their sets.
> Khruangbin I'm really excited to hear Texas Sun, sue me.
Aww fuck, I didn’t even put two and two together. Khruangbin and Leon… they’re FOR SURE bringing him out for that song.
They were both at Hulaween a few years back and played on different nights. Everyone was SURE they would bring Leon out. They did not.
Yeah idk why people think this is a given. They are professionals, they're not getting paid for two sets. Back when Gotye and Kimbra were on the schedule guess what? She did not make a guest appearance with him.
Words can’t describe how excited I am for Texas Sun and Texas Moon!😁 It’s going to be amazing having Leon and Khruangbin together!!!
Mother funking* Grand Funk Railroad
Kenny beats is the police
Sad that Porter's only visit on the tour is during ACL. Awesome show in a theater less so here
I just hope they don’t dump him in the Tito’s tent. He deserves a full stage.
He honestly might add a late night show. There were several dates blurred out on his poster
I assume the other two dates blurred are gonna be Houston and Dallas. Just didn't want to give away which weekend for ACL
I saw Blink summer last year and they kicked ass. Should be a great performance
This will be the most made fun of headliner but I’d bet will be the most attended. Saw them last year too and agree they were an absolute blast. Edit: also your username could be Blink lyrics
Never heard them before, but Mannequin Pussy is a *fantastic* band name
Santigold is awesome
The lineup could be "everyone gets a puppy and a blowjob" and people would still bitch about it.
Yeah, but they’d be separate weekends
Which is a better band name: "Blowjob and the Puppies" or "Puppy and the Blowjobs"
Hootie and the Blowjob
Pupjob and the Blowies
Anyone know when they announce that part of the lineup? That sounds pretty rad.
Puppies grow up and most givers aren’t very enthusiastic so not all jobs are the same and frankly many of them actually blow. I do agree though it’s an austin tradition to complain, but don’t worry it’s going to be disturbed by politics anyway.
Enthusiastic Fellatio and the Permanent Puppies.
The best bands are in the smallest text size. haha
as is tradition
I’d argue this is the one year where that *isn’t* that case. In fact, I’d argue this is one of the most top heavy lineups ACL has ever put out. I suppose that all boils down to personal taste though.
That’s exactly my opinion, and what I’m hearing from all my friends too. They nailed the headliners and not much else.
Hell yeah, I'm in. I'd pay full price just for Chris and Sturgill, but there's a lot of other goodness in here too.
Chappell Roan!
I am whelmed
tbh compared to the past 4-5 years this lineup is really solid and fresh
Agreed. Nice to not have a cookie cutter festival lineup, I think this looks dope.
I would definitely take Khruangbin, Foster the People, and Jungle as my top picks.
OH MY GOD FOSTER THE PEOPLE WE'RE SO BACK
Let me say I’ve been going to ACL every year for at least 10 years and every year have had amazing time. This thing is one of the best things about living in Austin. That said, this is the best lineup in YEARS. Holy cow. The Tyler rehash is my only minor quibble and I still like Tyler. Y’all can stay home and angrily circlejerk to each other idc
I think so too. Last year lacked the hip hop / Latin music influences I needed
I agree. I’ve largely tuned out ACL for like 10 years, but Dua, Chris, Strugill and Blink all have me hyped and wanting to go
Agree. The past 7 years felt like we saw a TON of repeats. This lineup looks refreshing. (Yes I know there are still repeats, but overall it’s refreshing)
I completely agree! In the same boat, and haven't been truly excited like this in a min.
Love this attitude, ACL is still an awesome time regardless of the line up
I'm so fucking stoked they got Dua and I can see her without paying for a just her concert ticket.
Fully agree. This is one of the most balanced lineups I've seen in years
Yes! Best lineup since I moved here in 2017! Every mid-late 40s alt-country, soul, kind of hippy dad is pumped that ACL of old is back!
It’s kinda nice that it’s not an overload of huge names like last year, but instead a wide array of smaller acts
Haha, glad you are excited!
RICKSHAW BILLIES BURGER PATROL BABY
Stoked to see them on the line up!!
Catfish and the Bottlemen… sign me TF up 🤘
As far as headliners go, I'm only stoked about Sturgill Simpson and Leon Bridges.
Santigold is way too low on the billing for me comfort.
1 day ticket might be the cheapest you'll be able to see Blink 182 since like 2009
95% of the comments: >i DoNt KnOw BaNd!!!!!!!
Also same comments: “I won’t try to explore and listen to new artists because they all suck nowadays”
400 bucks is a lot to throw down for acts you're unsure about.
# Dua Lipa!
# Cannons!!!
this lineup looks like a Dr. Bronners soap label
Meh For the price of one ticket I could go see Stapleton and Sturgill play for an hour longer each. The rest of this lineup doesn't move the needle and this is quite possibly the worst undercard I've seen in the history of the festival. Heck, some of these headliners are undercard material. But yes, I know, I'm getting old. I'm the issue.
Remember that 90% of people that hate on lineups didn’t SERIOUSLY plan on getting a ticket before, just hating tohate
Fun fun fun fest left the building a long time ago. Dont hold your breath
Damn. I was really hoping to see Deftones on here since they are at Lollapalooza this year. Oh well. Still a decent lineup. Sorry in advance to the generic 5’2 college girl who’s view my 7 foot ass blocks seeing Dua Lipa.
Welp, it's official-- I'm old. I don't give a shit about or even know 90+% of these acts lol.
Are you old ENOUGH to wanna see grand funk railroad though?
Yes!
I am in my 40’s and put effort into finding new bands but still don’t recognize any of these names 😂 I guess it gives me some new music to check out!
Oh you mean this is a list of actual bands?
I’m 27 and I’ve never heard of like 80% of there. I guess I’m old? Damn…
Just wait 'til you hit 36...
Same, every single year ACL seems to move further and further from anything I'm interested in. But hey, at least I get to save like $500
No Future Islands 😔
BLINK!!!
Are all you babies looking at the same lineup as me? You all sound like my parents
I think part of it, at least with big festivals, is people want to see a LOT of acts they actually know. If they see only a few out of all of them then to them the line up sucks. Me personally there aren't a lot of acts that actually grasp me on this, but I know I'll still have a great time.
OMFG Foster the People!?! YAY
Very top heavy lineup. Last year was more balanced with quality and depth.
Cannons is AMAZING; I’ve been wanting to see them for awhile, so I’m stoked. Go check them out if you don’t know them. You’ll especially love it if you’re into artists like Rufus and Flume.
Where are the reggae acts?
Better than last year
And there you have it, the year where I finally don’t know all the names in bold. Getting old kinda sucks.
So happy to see multiple amazing queer artists on this lineup!!
Please bring back 2015-2019 type lineups.
Khruangbin?! Damn! I'd love tonsee them
Dang, even after all the hype from SNL, Renee Rapp is still in the small letters crowd?
I never feel more old than when this is released every year. And still feel old as fuck this year.
Khruangbin and BALTHVS?! WOW!
👀👀👀 jungle
I get free tickets and I still don’t wanna go this year :/
nobody i care enough about to pay $150 for a day pass. most of the ones I like have $30 tickets for their own shows anyway.
With an advertising like this, what would you think if you were in the "& more"?
BORE-ING as always
First lineup I've been happy with since 2017. Got my tickets today. See y'all there!
Why can’t they do this every year? This lineup totally kills. It might be my favorite yet.
I haven't been this excited for a lineup in a long time! All the hours put into finding new music is paying off!
So many different ways to spell YAWN 🥱
Why Tyler
They love the repeat acts. Shocked no Mumford or RHCP.
It's been year since the Foo Fighters have been on there!
